However, while I was waiting for 30 minutes to have our dog seen, I had to listen to loud talking with the staff including swearing and calling someone a "B****". Then Dr. Butler comes in (after I can hear her talking so loudly about how I chose not to get a kennel cough shot) and proceeds to be very abrasive, loud and dismissive. She cut me off about 5 times with every question I asked, was upset I didn't want to get the kennel cough shot and then acted very passive-aggressively when saying "so your dog doesn't like other dogs". That was her say I should get this shot. She continued to cut me off until I asked her to let me finish. In addition, the dentist who worked on my dog's teeth to clean them last said she could come back for a teeth cleaning without anesthesia as she was so calm and cooperative. When I brought this up to Dr. Butler, she nearly cut my head off saying that would be "bad medical practice and he has NO authority to determine this, only I CAN". SO UNPROFESSIONAL and again, seems as though they are only interested in profit, not wellness. She proceeded to tell me their dentist has no authority to make decisions or recommend treatments, in a very rough and unprofessional way. Hopefully, their new vet will be better.

With an office manger like Carla , who is rude and give inccortect information. After being build for a dog who had been dead for over 7 years , I question it and I had every right to, it made me question what was going on at the clinic. When asked for facts she could not provided her facts because she had none, absolutely none. She got defensive about it. When I called to pay the bill the girl Hanna left me on hold over 30 min and was exstrealy rude when she returned to the phone. Dont forget the $7000.00 estate for a dental for my dog. It Makes me question what is going on at the clinic ? Do they have a staff who care about our pets? Do they have staff who know what they are doing ? billing for dead pets, rude and leave you on hold for long periods of time with out checking in. If they are that busy maybe they are to busy for patients, or are the people on the phones just sitting there playing. When asked for the number to the owner Carla gave me the wrong number , on purpose or accident? Well when she refused to pick up the phone I would say on purpose and that shows the amount of care and concideration that she has for the animals, and the owners NONE. Let it be noted that if your going to work in an enviroment with people and their pets, you better be a caring and knowlege able person. I am sorry but Carla and Hanna are not any of the things or the kind of people who should be working with the public or in that enviroment at all. Since University is owned by NVA, who has a 2 star review , I do not think that they care about anything but money. In all fairness I will say that there are alot of good staff at the clinic, Dr.Walton is amazing there is no better she should branch out and find a new clinic, Dr Bybee is great and Stacey is the best. I do see why all the young Doctors do not stay there and why they run good staff out by the 100's its name is Carla. Please beware when thinking about trusting anyone with your pet. Always check the Doctor, the staff and the mangement. Because I will say Carla is a nightmare and very unproffional.

Not only was she friendly and nice. She genuinely cares about your pet and the life for your pet. She asked a lot of questions to ensure she provides the best care needed. I would've never thought that I would need additional shots if my cat was an outdoor cat versus an indoor. And because she was an indoor, she did not want to add anything additional to the bill, if not needed. I even left with a little goodie bag for my kitten.

I have been a client of Holladay Vet for the lifetime of two beloved pets, despite their higher…read morecost, because I felt that their service was good and they had helped thoughtfully throughout the years. I found a dog on the side of the road and rescued him to foster him. I went in to get him checked out so that I could know about any health problems before he was adopted to his forever home, and to get him some immunizations just in case he was behind. During this appt they signed me up for a Paw Plan, stating that would be the cheapest option and not mentioning that it would be several hundred dollars when I canceled the plan at his adoption. So here we are, I have spoken to their billing department (Quentin who was rude and aggressive from the beginning) and their manager (Brittney who spoke to me with a complete lack of empathy and told me it wasn't her job to explain to me why we couldn't come to a compromise over +-$100), neither of whom has been able to explain to me why I should be paying hundreds of dollars for an adopted dog to get two immunizations when I could have gone any number of other places for immunizations that would have costed me less than the Paw Plan payments. They were rude and completely uninterested in a compromised cost, and they have absolutely lost my business forever. Don't expect for any longevity of a perfect client who has paid tens of thousands of dollars over the years, to get you any special consideration. Just a small amount of compromise would have left me feeling better about the interaction and about Holladay Vet in general. I would STRONGLY suggest that Holladay Vet invest in some customer service with their billing. The vet techs and people working at the desk clearly have some; it would be a good idea to clean up the back half so that people like myself don't feel so betrayed and taken advantage of. I would suggest going to ANY other vet clinic in town.

I started noticing he would growl when I touched him, which was very out of character. At first, I didn't think much of it, but as it worsened, I examined him more closely and was shocked to discover scabbed areas under both of his front legs, resembling severe rugburn. After another hike, I checked him immediately upon return and found his front legs raw and bleeding in multiple spots, with his fur matted in tight knots. I took him to urgent care, and the veterinarian confirmed the wounds were fresh trauma. My dog is 8 years old and very active, but because he's never been off leash before, I had specifically requested that he be kept leashed on hikes. The other dogs were off-leash, and I worry that while trying to keep up with the group, the handler, Caitlin, may have dragged him when he couldn't keep pace. I reached out to Mary for an explanation but received no clear response or indication of concern for my dog's condition. I asked Mary if she would cover the vet bill. Instead, she said she wanted to speak directly with my vet. When I brought that request to my vet, they informed me that she did not have a right to access my pet's medical information due to HIPAA laws. Despite everything, I was kind enough to let the situation go--but I refused to pay the bill for the hike where my dog was injured. Now Mary is charging my account anyway. A good business owner would have shown concern and at the very least offered an apology. Instead, she has shown no empathy and no accountability. This experience was incredibly distressing. I cannot recommend Merrypets based on what happened and how poorly it was handled. My dog has had no more injuries since he stopped going out with Merry Pets. He's happy again and no longer growls at me.
