Realized I hadn't reviewed on yelp. Organized, professional, and a love of animals in all the staff. Now 8 years of quality care has earned my trust and definitely a recommendation. It's easy to schedule visits and the after care support is phenomenal. It's evened out for sure. With a dedicated vet, I'm paying more each visit, but the care for an issue and easy availability for quick questions is worth it. They do offer food/medicine/etc but I've never felt undue pressure to use it. That's a big deal for me, I'm all for smaller businesses adding revenue but not if they're aggressive about up-selling. I hope they continue consistently caring and providing great care - it seems like they will. read more

More of a business, less care for the animals or their parents. We were patrons of this clinic for years. The quality of care has become less about the animals and more about sales of their medicines and food. Sad. read more

Update Don't go here if you love your pets, please avoid this place at all costs. If I could delete the old post I would, as it no longer applies. This is a post about the NEW owners of Riverton Vet and most certainly NOT about the OLD owner. This is an update to my post on 12/10/20. We took our cat in because he was losing weight. Well, turns out he's diabetic. A lot has happened cents the NEW owners have taking over Riverton Vet. from when I posted last. So, basically everything has changed. Payments for services have changed. Definity gone up. I was able to pay the OLD owners in payments if the cost was high, however the last time I used the NEW owners' services they told me they don't do payments. (That could have changed). The gals up front, now far be it for me to tell them how to run their business. However, with 6 people working up front only adds to their overhead, and you will pay for it. Whereas the OLD owner had 3 gals up front doing the same workload. Another example, they had me bring in my cat for observation and to have his blood checked (an overnight thing they said.) This was towards the end. About 3 hours into his overnight stay, they called me and said they need my insulin so they can give it to him. Well hell they didn't tell me or I would have taken it with me the first time. (Like they don't have insulin there.) I took them my insulin, then left for home. Then about 2 hours later I get a call from them again, they want me to pick up my cat as he wasn't calming down (their words not mine) and I need to reschedule the overnight observation. Are you fucking kidding me. I asked if they got the information, they needed to treat my cat after all this and guess what, that's a big fat NO. So, I'm going to have to do all this over again. My whole day shot to shit because they couldn't get their shit together. For a veterinarian who claim to be all about the animals, they sure as hell didn't care about my cat. The vet took 6 months from the time she diagnoses him with diabetes. To TRY and get my cats does right. After 6 months and 1 waisted day, I took my cat to another Vet and he had everything worked out in 3 weeks and my cat has adjusted well to havening diabetes. No thanks to those people at Riverton vet. read more

Super disappointed on the customer service I received. I am new to the area and took a look at all the reviews and decided to call and inquire about about getting my three dogs a check up, rabies vaccinated and an allergy injection that my dog requires. Mind you my allergy prone dog has regular monthly visits to my vet to have his allergy medication administers to him via injection. So my records have all weigh info. I called and I am assuming their front desk staff answered the phone. She was able to tell my how much all of the services would cost but she refused to provide me an estimate on how much the allergy injection would be. She was like until the doctor checks out your animal I can't provide you a quote because we don't have the weight of the animal. I understood completely what she meant being that dogs with varying weight can require a lower or higher dose. She was unwilling to provide me even an estimate. Heck I didn't even care if she overpriced what it actually would have been. She was extremely stubborn and for what? I don't even know... I expressed to her I wanted to get an idea of the price being that I have a budget and my dog needs this injection monthly. I felt as if I was being trapped into having my dog checked out before them being able to provide me a price of the injection... I wouldn't recommend checking this place out if they can't even be some what transparent about pricing... which leads me to believe their ethics are possibly misplaced... read more

There must be new owners since pandemic- service is beyond slow- for example- you can't pay for a nail trim while they trim the nails- you have to wait until paperwork is SLOWY processed. Everything is bad- from slow service to one vet saying negative things about another vet.. we have a diabetic dog and we have been following Instructions given by the vet- then another vet tells us she disagrees with the advice (specifically no wheat diet) and rolls her eyes ... it just seems every turn is another problem or slow service- we are going to try another vet. Today was just the final straw when I was told my dogs scrip wouldn't be filled until bloodwork is done- it's pain med and the receptionist was awful. Not having any personal interactions with anyone there is awful.. read more

I was thrilled to find this Vet, Dr Tom, he's the best! Dr Tom and Technician, Zoe listened to what we were telling them. Our dog was having seizures on medication prescribed by another vet working at a VAC. I called them and was told the vet would call me back. I waited and waited til 6pm when they closed. I was able to get my dog in at Riverton, and explained what had happened, the dog was diagnosed with a bladder infection, neutered, and a prostate infection all in one week at VAC, and the meds he got made him walk into walls, and just stare into space. Dr Tom gave him some new meds to use a different diagnosis and the dog is doing great. Tech Zoe took her time with us and explained everything thoroughly. I love this gal! Will always recommend this place! Brought my dog Molly here after she ran around a fence post too fast and cut her belly on a screw hanging out, they were so helpful and the staff is wonderful. Carla helped me on the phone when I first called in and assured me I'd be helped and even helped me find the location, when I got there everyone was assuring and helpful and very kind. We have brought both of our dogs here in the past few years . Although it has been about 4 years since we have brought them in for any check ups since they have been healthy . My older dog was not doing good & needed to be put to sleep . I called then to bring him in & they said they couldn't find me by my name or phone number . They said they would have to charge me a quality of life exam which would have been fine . My dog was clearly sick . They said they had updated their system about 2 years ago & if I hadn't been in during this time they purged me from their system . They also said they would talk to the vet & see if they could work us in . But since they couldn't locate my name I couldn't make an appointment. They said to call back in a few hours . No empathy or anything . Just rude because they couldn't find my info . I called back a few hours later & spoke to another person who again couldn't find my info & said they didn't have any openings since I wasn't in their system . I told them they ask me to call back to see if they could work me in & they had no idea what I was talking about . Very disappointing - I won't go back here ever . read more

First few times I went we're good. They came out he had his shots. They kept me waiting outside and then I called again and someone came out. He recently has had serious problems and I wanted him seen immediately. They weren't any help they told me as long as he is drinking water he's good. He's NOT good. He isn't breathing properly and they said the soonest was the next day. I drive an hour to see them and this was the final straw. read more

I was using a different vet before, but after a couple experiences I jumped to this vet and am very happy I did. I adopted a kitten from the humane society and she had been spayed the day before I took her home. Over time I noticed a lump forming where her spay was done. Took her into my previous vet 3 different times for 3 of their vets to take a look at her. Was charged for each time i took her in and each of their vets had no idea. But there was no progress in what they suggested we do. I decided to take her here just to see and saw only one vet and she told me that she believed it to be scarring from the sutures used from the spay. But she immediately suggested that we plan on a surgery and even booked it on a day that she could be present alongside the main surgeon. Did surgery, was exactly what she believed it was. Then my other cat one day started peeing less than normal. I had originally called my last vet because they're closer to me and they asked some questions. I let them know he ate and drank normally, still very playful and energetic and didn't seem to be in any pain when I'd pick him up or feel for his bladder. My old vet told me that it didn't sound like an emergency and that he should be fine... i had a bad feeling about that and decided to call this vet. They made time for me to drop him off the very next day so they could do a urinalysis and mentioned how urinary blockage is dangerous and you should always take your cat in when seeing symptoms. I'm now only coming to this vet. The two vets that I've seen here really care about my pets. And that's what I want in a vet. Love this place! read more

the sweetest people in the world work here. they are always kind, super accommodating, and flexible. i bring both of my dogs here for all their routine checkups, dental, and surgery. i can't comment heavily on the quality of care as i'm not a doctor myself, but i love the doctors here -- they're confidence inspiring and reasonable. we have been seen by Dr. Krasinski (sorry if bad spelling) and she's wonderful to work with. read more

We loved this vet. They've always been so good to our pets. However, we took our cat there a couple of weeks ago and the doc diagnosed her with a sprain. Over the past 2 weeks it's only gotten worse (we were out of town on vacation and had someone pet sitting her). Now that we're back from vacation I've been trying to reach them, leaving messages for a call back without success. The doc is short handed right now with doctors but you'd think at least his receptionist staff would call us back. Sadly now, I'm looking for a new vet as my poor kitty needs to be seen as soon as possible. I sure hope they can get the help they need, I'd love to go back. read more

Despite being at the height of a pandemic, this veterinary office went out of their way to accommodate my large family as we said our goodbyes to our dear family dog. The veterinarian and techs stayed with us after-hours, allowing all seven if us to take all the time we needed to bid our friend the farewell she deserved. The staff was incredibly helpful from start to finish, and no matter what work they were in the middle of when we asked for something, they would drop everything to help (from tissues to tra sportation). I cannot thank Dr. Jessie (hope I spelled that correctly) and her assisting staff enough for being so understanding and kind to us in our time of need. Thank you for allowing us to take our time, even though it took out of your day. We got to say a proper farewell to our sweet Fiona - something we didn't think was possible with the current state of the world. Thank you, a million times over, for showing my family and our animal companion kindness and patience in our time of need. We'll be recommending this vet for many years to come! read more

Called about my dogs itching and got an appt with in 2 days. Because of covid was instructed to stay in my car with my doggo. Waited 2 minutes, a tech came out and asked some questions and took my dog to weigh her & see the vet. 20 minutes later Vet, tech and my doggo came back and she told me what she thought was the issue, did some teaching and then gave a prescription. The only thing I didn't like is that they didn't warn me that the prescription could have been obtained elsewhere for about $30 less. Which I figured out after I had already paid and took the prescription. Other than that it was a perfect experience, my dog is no longer itching and I highly recommend them! read more

I've never had a business be so rude and so disrespectful to me and my dog. If your dog was dying they would tell you to take a seat for minutes while they gossiped and then helped you. I called once an in emergency and asked Christina to stop talking over me so I could finish what was going on, she said "stop throwing a tantrum. I'm gonna give you a chance to talk now..1,2,3" When I asked the owner why he doesn't take any action he said, "what would you like me to do?" WOW! read more

This was my first time taking my pup to a vet for something besides a regular check up. They were all so so kind and showed so much love towards my dog and all the other animals, just what I would expect a vet should do. They were incredibly informative and helpful with my questions and helped me define his problem when I couldn't quite put words to it. This place sucks. My pet was injured and needed emergency care, and I tried 3 times via phone and email to get him scheduled for follow-up care. Nobody bothered to return my contact attempts. They NEVER answer their phone. With COVID, the check-in process for an appointment now is to call them upon arrival. I was asked 5 times in 3 days to confirm on their app, email and telephone. Yet once I get there, they can't be bothered to answer their phone for me to 'check-in'. I know we are all doing the best we can, but really??? If check in is done on the phone now, YOU MUST ANSWER YOUR PHONE TO BEGIN WITH!!!!! read more

I moved to Utah from Palm Springs, CA with my two cats. One of my cats had a couple chronic problems that had us in and out of a very expensive veterinary hospital constantly. When I arrived in Utah and told the Doctor at Riverton Veterinary Hospital about my cat's history, he recommended some exploratory surgery. I consented and he found a small tumor in my cat's paw and removed it. My cat has never had another problem. And that surgery cost less than one visit to the vet in Palm Springs just to get a cortisone shot and be told there was nothing else they could do. Later, when my cats and I were back visiting Palm Springs for a month, one of my cat's other frequent problems popped up again. I called the old Palm Springs vet and they couldn't give me an appointment for a week, by which time we were going to be leaving to go back to Utah. I called Riverton Veterinary Hospital and Christina made several calls around Palm Springs trying to find a vet who would fill a prescription for me without charging me for an office visit. Finally she called Walgreens and arranged for me to get the medicine there. I think you'll be happy with Riverton Veterinary Hospital. read more

Great doctors, nice staff. I like that I am not pressured into more procedures/shots/supplements etc. than my dogs need which I have felt at other vets. I think they are great. I don't know what the other reviewer is talking about... every time I go they take care of me and my dogs right away. I feel confident that my dogs are getting fantastic care. read more

My dog had an ear infection a couple of weeks ago and the vet I usually go to could not get my dog Abby in for 3 days. I called the Riverton Veterinary Hospital and they found a way to get my dog in that day and took great care of her. With her medicine they found me the cheapest route to go and called in her medicine. They have been very kind and I did not ever feel they were pressuring me into more blood tests etc. I would highly recommend this vet even though I have to travel a little further it is totally worth it and did not feel they were anymore expensive then my my regular vet. read more

Our dog needed a $2500 surgery, and I called several places trying to find a clinic who would offer a Care Credit 0% interest promotion for longer than 12 months (several clinics had offered us 12 months). Christina at Riverton Veterinary Hospital told me they would offer 18 months, so we actually waited 3 very long weeks for surgery because we needed the longer term promotion. When all was said and done, we had only 7 months to pay it off, and both parties said there was nothing they could do. We won't be going there again. They only care about making money, and they are dishonest. read more

When we first got our puppy he was younger than we thought and went into shock from not getting enough nutrients. We called two other vets to help us with our emergency and they told us they didn't have openings and then we called this vet, and they told us to come in right away. They gave us amazing care and continue to do that. Our puppy is now 14 weeks old and as healthy as ever. Every time we have gone in for an appointment, they get us in right away. Our cat had been "off" for a few days, and obviously in acute pain, so we decided to take her in. We were new in town and this clinic was close. We explained she hadn't been eating or drinking well, wouldn't come out from under the side table and seemed to be in a lot of pain whenever you pet her near her rump. They said they to leave her and they would do a complete physical exam. Upon finding nothing, they proceeded to do a lot of expensive lab tests. Which showed nothing. So we got her back hours later with a $250 bill and a "Sorry, we don't know why she's in so much pain. But have a good day." and sent on our way. Later that very same night, she had a huge abscess rupture on her rear haunch. It left an open wound 1" wide and very deep. Shouldn't that have been caught during a "complete physical exam" BEFORE ordering expensive lab tests, especially given the symptoms? That was our first experience with an abscess, so we were clueless, but I don't understand how a whole clinic of vets and techs missed something so common. read more
