Everyone told me to drive my cat to a 24 hour emergency care clinic all the way in Salt Lake City. I called Animal Alpine Hospital though, and despite also being booked, they offered to let me bring my cat in to be examined in between appointments. I ended up coming 30 minutes early, during the middle of the vet's lunch hour. (I'd got my injured cat in the carrier and didn't want to wait at home.) The vet ended his lunch hour early to check my cat out, and determined quickly that he needed a tail amputation due to the severity of the injury. He stayed that night after his regular day's work to remove the tail, and met me early Saturday morning to pick my cat up. My cat is one week out and acts like nothing is wrong, despite having had surgery only days ago. They did a very good job fixing him up. And despite my (lovable to us, but super mean to strangers when he's scared and hurt) cat's attempt to murder the vet and his assistants, they understood that I loved my cat and took very good care of him. I was impressed with this clinic and their caring nature, and wanted to leave them a good review. Thanks, guys! (Sorry my cat tried to kill you.)

The fact I was bringing them in shows I love them and take care of them.I even had a dog I bred brought in to see how many puppies she had, we argued about the total he said I was wrong and he was the vet. When they were born I was right, he couldn't even read the X-ray correctly. I did stop going to him after the last berating when my cat had an abscess. But my last experience takes the cake. I have a very fragile breed of cat that does not handle vaccinations well. And has a grade 5 heart murmur. He went in for an emergency visit for an eye issue. I told them at the beginning I did not want a rabies vaccine if that was not OK to let me know immediately. 6.5 hours later I get a call saying they can't examine him because he doesn't have a rabies vaccination and that it's Utah law. It is absolutely not law but their own policy(it is law to get them licensed to have the vaccine but not examined by a vet), the cat has seen three other vets including a neuter with no issue at all. They forced me to get the rabies vaccine or take him somewhere else but because it was an emergency situation and they waited six hours I chose to get the vaccine to save his eye. I only went to him because I was told by the eye center in SL that he works closely with, that he could take care of him. Oddly enough my cat had been to that clinic in the past and didn't need the vaccine there. After telling me, the vet couldn't touch him until he was vaccinated, they called me back and told me he did great in the exam and now they're going to give him the vaccine with Benadryl. When I asked I thought he couldn't touch him without the vaccine. they didn't know what to say. They clearly just want to add to your already high bill and do not care for you or your pet. Upon picking him up and being told there was nothing he could do for him I was informed to take him to the clinic that referred him to me!! After bringing him home I noticed the stain they put in his eye looked like it was PUT IN THE WRONG EYE!!! I strongly advise not going to this vet!! There are many other wonderful caring vets out there, if he's easy to get into there is a reason.

On 06/10, I took my 11-year-old Great Pyrenees to another vet (beware of Utah Veterinary Hospital) because he was limping and had a swollen foot. I thought it might be something like a foxtail, but they barely looked at his foot and told me it was hip dysplasia and that his foot might just be swollen from laying on it. That I shouldn't worry about it. They told me to come back in about 10 days for X-rays and bloodwork and I scheduled a follow-up for 06/22. My dog just kept getting worse and by 06/17, he could barely walk. I called my other vet to see if they could get me in earlier and they said his pain was "to be expected". I decided to get a second opinion, and Country View was able to get me in within a couple hours. The difference was obvious right away. They actually took a good look at his foot and immediately said he likely had a fracture or an infected wound. They did X-rays with anesthesia, ran bloodwork, and found and treated an abscess in his foot. They cleaned and drained it, and sent us home with antibiotics and probiotics. They also took the time to show me the X-rays and explain what was going on with his hip dysplasia and what our treatment options are, which I really appreciated. On top of all that, it ended up costing less than what I had been quoted at the other vet for just X-rays under anesthesia and bloodwork. I'm really grateful for how quickly they acted and how thorough they were. It made a huge difference for my dog and just a day later he already seems so much better. I definitely recommend Country View Veterinary Hospital.

They're completely understanding and love your pets like their own. Left this same review on Google, but thought I should share it here too for the Yelp users…read more We had our pet bunny spayed here and were send home with some pain medication and a cone for her to wear that would prevent picking at the incision. We were told that if she was not eating normally by the morning, to bring her back in. That was the case so we returned the next morning. They gave us some critical care to force feed her and directed us to feed her 7 ml a day. Come the next morning her conditions were worsening. It was Sunday, so A Caring Vet was closed. We were forced to find an emergency vet elsewhere. After the emergency vet evaluated our bunny's current condition, we were informed that A Caring Vet had not prescribed her strong enough pain medication to ease our bunny's pain and our bunny needed to be feed closers to 80 ml of critical care a day to receive all the nutrients she needs. We were also informed that a cone should almost never be used on a bunny as it will cause stress levels to rise doing more harm than good. We were told that a bunny with the correct pain medication dosage will usually not pick at the incision. If you have a bunny, I strongly recommend you take him/her elsewhere, While A Caring Vet will attend to bunnies, they do not seem knowledgeable in the proper post operative care that a bunny requires.

My puppy is naturally very anxious and nervous in new situations, but the team has been incredibly patient, kind, and attentive with him. Rather than treating every dog the same, they tailored his experience to meet *his* needs, and that has made such a difference. The thoughtful notes on his report cards make it clear how much they genuinely care about him. They also offer a wide variety of services at very reasonable prices, and everyone at the front desk-as well as the rest of the staff-is always friendly and welcoming. What was even more concerning was how my feedback was handled when I tried to address it with the vet. When I called to share my experience, I was calm and respectful. I made it clear I understood situations happen, but I wanted to provide constructive feedback about the care my dog received. Instead, I was told to "save your breath" and warned that if anything I left in a review was "inaccurate," they would send a cease and desist. Based on other reviews here, it appears that this response is not uncommon when someone raises concerns. For the record, everything below is accurate and supported by receipts from both veterinary offices, as well as timestamped photos of my dog's foot. On Tuesday, 06/09, my 11 year old Great Pyrenees began limping, and his foot was visibly swollen. Because I have foxtails in my yard, I suspected that might be the cause. This was the only vet with availability the next day, so I scheduled an appointment for Wednesday, 06/10. During the visit, I explained my concerns, but the vet barely examined my dog's foot and instead diagnosed him with hip dysplasia. He prescribed gabapentin and recommended returning in about 10 days for bloodwork and hip X rays. I scheduled a follow up for 06/22. He also attempted to sell me a two week supply of gabapentin for about $90. I asked for a written prescription, which I was charged for, and filled it at Walmart for under $20. At my insistence, he prescribed wipes and ointment for the swollen foot, but continued to reassure me that it was not an issues. I'm not a vet and I know Great Pyrenees are prone to hip dysplasia so I believed the vet. Over the next several days, my dog's condition worsened significantly. His limp became more severe, and he frequently needed help just to stand. He was clearly in pain and uncomfortable. His foot was still swollen but had not gotten any worse or better. By 06/17, I could no longer ignore it and called to see if I could move the appointment sooner. I was told they were fully booked and that his pain was "to be expected." I contacted another vet for an emergency visit and was able to get him seen immediately. The swelling in his foot had not changed since the prior visit but they immediately told me it was either broken or infected. He does have hip dysplasia but the main cause of his pain and limp was an abscess in his foot that had been completely missed by Dr. Rivera. They performed X rays of both his hips and foot with anesthesia, ran bloodwork, prescribed antibiotics and probiotics and drained and treated the abscess, all during an emergency visit, for less than what this clinic had quoted me just for hip X rays, anesthesia, and bloodwork. Again, I have receipts and estimates to prove it. I called them this morning to cancel the appointment for Monday and told them I wanted to provide feedback to them directly before leaving a review and they told me to save my breath and just leave a review if I was going to anyway. When I told them my dog suffered due to the vet's incompetence and carelessness, I was warned about "inaccuracies" and cease and desist action. It felt more like an attempt to discourage feedback than to address it. It's only been one day since my dog was treated for the abscess and he's already doing so much better! I wonder how much better he would feel if this vet had diagnosed and treated him correctly a week go. If you care about thorough, attentive care for your pet and want to feel confident in their diagnosis and treatment, I would strongly recommend considering other veterinary options. In my experience, there are far better providers in the American Fork area. I'll report back if I get a cease and desist!

CONSUMERS ARE PROTECTED BY LAW: The Consumer Review Fairness Act (CRFA) - Federal Law and Federal Protection: Consumer Review Fairness Act (CRFA). Recently, while grooming my dog, I accidentally nicked her leg, and I could tell she'd need a few stitches. After calling around, I was surprised when the third vet office I contacted said they had no wait. That sounded promising, so I was asked to pay $100 over the phone just to hold the spot. I rushed my dog down, filled out the paperwork, and was immediately given an estimate of $400-$800 just to stitch her up. I thought that was quite a broad range and honestly, even the low end felt high for what looked like a clean slice. The vet finally came in, spent under five minutes with my dog, and told us he could see the bone and that it would be difficult to repair because it was located about two inches below the elbow. He walked out abruptly. I asked my daughter, who is a nurse, "Could you see the bone?" She replied, "No." It was a clean, deep cut--but not nearly as dramatic as the vet described. Soon after, the vet tech returned with an updated estimate: $1,600-$1,800. I was shocked. I told them I needed to call my husband, but instead, I immediately called another vet for a second opinion. I declined any services at that point, paid an additional $17 (so $117 total), and left. The Dr. later stated, the cut would require 20 plus stitches, the alternate Clinic successfully closed it with four! The new vet was not only professional and compassionate, but efficient. They confirmed that you could not see bone, and our dog ended up needing five stitches, for a straight clean cut, with sedation, antibiotics, and a painkiller--all for well under $450. We were in and out in just over an hour. After this, I began reading reviews and found many others reporting similarly inflated treatment plans and pricing. It's now clear to me why this clinic had immediate availability. As a dog owner for over 20 years, I've never been quoted such outrageous prices--not even for major surgeries or overnight hospital stays at our regular vet. Our pets are family, and price gouging people when they're already stressed and trying to care for their animals is, in my opinion, completely unethical. To the clinic: Asking people to leave reviews and then offering snide or dismissive responses only reinforces the impression that this behavior is the norm for your business. I encourage you to take this feedback seriously and use it as an opportunity to reevaluate your approach to client care and pricing. I won't be returning and certainly won't recommend this place to others.

So it was a weird surprise when we were told we had to contact the cremators for that and it was an additional $150. So over $ 1000 to put a cat to sleep. We really should have just drove him down the street. Last time everything was taken care of and it didn't cost anything close, including the ceramic paw prints. This is not a premium service and is charging very premium prices. But down the street, after hours at midnight on a Sunday, that was $730, +$80 for ER services, and ceramic paw prints, and they gave us nose and paw prints, and fur clippings. Group cremation for both and they both used the same crematory for ceramic prints, etc. I have recommended for years and I will no longer do so. So misleading. Find a mobile vet directly.

I was told to apply for a loan/line of credit, which I was not approved for because I have poor credit, and given an invoice and told that when I paid them I would receive medications. When I went back to pay them they told me there were no medications on file. Now I have not 1 but 2 sick kittens.
