Proof on the duration of my call. Last 10 minutes was speaking to the rep and the rest of on stand-by.

Updating the review for the exceptional follow through by Dr. Jiang. While my initial experience with the service was subpar, Dr Jiang was receptive to addressing learning opportunities with one of his team members. I am thoroughly impressed with Dr Jiang's professionalism; moreover, for Dr. Jiang's genuine care of his patients. Facility cleanliness and state of the art equipment are commendable. The multi language team is also highly sought after due to location and clientele. I highly recommend planning extra time for your visit.

Hoang said my mom's vision is basically 20/20 and she would only need to get non-prescription (reading) glasses.

Some of the staff also wears gloves. They definitely do when examining their patients. There are some hand sanitizers available for patients to use. This place is open and available with no limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between patients. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was here in this establishment today with my dad, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is decent. It isn't too big nor too small. Parking spots are okay as well. Establishment: I had to bring my dad here today for his follow up appointment. He has been coming to see Dr. Chao for some time, and he really likes this place. My dad said that the doctor was really patient and thorough with explaining all that goes on during a cataract surgery. He said that the doctor also took some time going over other options if he refused to undergo the cataract surgery. Due to the doctor's experience and expertise, my dad decided to go through with the surgery at Concourse Diagnostic and Surgery Center. My dad's surgery went smoothly, and his follow up appointment also went well. Overall, this was an excellent outcome. I would highly recommend Dr. Chao for anyone who is interested in getting cataract surgery. The establishment itself is very clean, neat, tidy, and organized. Staff: The staff here are very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.

Excellent location as they are near the gold line and have plenty of parking in the back. The security guard at the front was nice and helpful letting us know what time the office is opened and that we could wait in the lobby until they opened. The staff is very nice and helpful to their patients. Very easy to talk to them. The plus was they were able to speak Chinese (Mandarin)to my dad. The technician was efficient and checked his vision, eye pressure (with a tono pen), checking pupils, extra ocular motility (EOM) and getting a complete chief complaint and asked if reading was an issue (which is was not). The one thing I would have checked is confrontational fields, but other than that she did an excellent job. She then proceeded to dilate his pupils and explained to him about the process and the expect his near vision to be blurry due to dilation and to wear sun glasses when outside (due to increased incoming light from pupils being dilated). She performed imaging to check the macula and retina and optic nerve. We then saw Dr. Chao who is a fantastic physician performed a thorough exam and explained to my father about cataract surgery in Chinese, explained what she saw and how bad his cataracts were and asked him specific questions about his vision and discussed the different lens options available and which my father would like to receive. (Standard lens usually set for distance and would require glasses for reading or one can opt for a multifocal lens where you don't need to wear glasses but this type of lens is not covered by insurance and would be out of pocket). Dr. Chao is an ophthalmologist who specializes in Glaucoma (treats patients with high eye pressure which can lead to blindness if left untreated) and is also a cataract surgeon and comprehensive ophthalmologist (sees patients for any eye issues and can refer out to specialists as needed). Then we scheduled a surgery date and will need to see his primary care physician (PCP) for clearance will need to return for a follow up appointment to get his biometry measurements for the lens prior to surgery. My dad was happy with his first visit and looks forward to his follow up visit.

Disappointing First Experience With Rosemead Eye Center…read more This was my first time calling Rosemead Eye Center because I was interested in becoming a new patient. I had heard good things about Dr. Lai through online searches, so I was hoping to confirm what insurance they accept and how to use my medical insurance for an eye exam. Unfortunately, the experience fell short right from the start. The person who answered the phone, Sam, was impatient, unfriendly, and noticeably rude when I asked basic questions. Instead of helping guide me through the process, as any medical office should, especially for new patients--she sounded irritated and dismissive. It honestly doesn't matter how good a doctor may be if the first point of contact treats people this way. A front desk representative sets the tone for the entire practice, and this interaction was a complete disservice to Dr. Lai and to potential patients like myself. I ended the call feeling unwelcome and unsure if I should even schedule an appointment. Customer service matters, especially in healthcare. Sadly, this was not a good first impression.

I did that for 2-3 weeks, he checked me again, unfortunately, there was no improvement and he advised me to see a surgeon who can help me. Fortunately, a good friend mentioned Dr. Jones to me previously, and I was able to make a same-day appointment with him. He assured me that the cyst wasn't serious and gave me a few options for treatment. We opted for the medical option (steroid drops), and the cyst went away after a few weeks. However, there was still irritation on that part of the eye. Dr. Jones mentioned it's part of a larger issue -- that I have bumps under my eyelids due to chronic contact lens wear -- and we need to treat that. I've always had what I thought was dry eyes due to excessive contact use, as diagnosed by other optometrists and ophthalmologists. However, Dr. Jones noted that my eyes aren't actually that dry, and much of my irritation is due to the friction that caused bumps under my eyelids, which originated from the contact use. Dr. Jones has been treating me for the past 6 weeks and my eyes are feeling much better. I like that he has a game-plan for my eyes and we're approaching the issues from multiple angles. His office has been reasonable as well, since I'm not going through my regular insurance. Lastly, the staff is friendly and extremely responsive. They can even communicate through text. If you want comprehensive eye care, look no further than Focus Eye Center!

I also received a call from the office to confirm my appointment a day or so prior to the visit. The office is modern, nicely decorated and very comfortable. The waiting area is spacious and well-lit, complete with contemporary furnishings. The office itself was easy to spot, and the large parking area in the back is great. As a first time patient, it was quick and easy to check in: I was greeted by 2 very helpful female staff, filled out a short form and submitted my insurance and ID in under a couple of minutes. Dr. Jeffrey Huang was a consummate professional. Easy to talk to, easy to understand, and got to the point after a few different examinations with their high tech up-to-date machines. He prescribed my son Gel drops which I must happily say have definitely helped my son with his eye redness and irritation. In the end, I left with more insight than I had received from three previous ophthalmologists visits in the months prior. My son is very happy with the results, to say the least. I would definitely recommend him to anyone that is in need of an ophthalmologist in a heartbeat!

Then when complications (including a trip to the ER) set in and months without much progress, he blamed me, refused to listen, and said over and over "give it more time." He kept defending himself until finally when I told him I still couldn't see clearly, he said simply, "Yes you can." He failed to take responsibility. When I asked for a refund, he just laughed and said he'd think about it. But he's never tried to contact me. J & J who makes the multifocals said the only way I can get a refund is if the original surgeon removes the lenses. Bottom line: Dr. Huang seems to care more about money than the well-being of his patients. He's a good surgeon--the lenses were put in correctly--but a second doctor I went to said he "undersells" the multifocals. Now my vision is worse than before (one good thing--I no longer have cataracts) but I had to buy new reading and distance glasses. I'm out $6,000 plus another $1,300 for new glasses. Plus the time and trouble, pain and annoyance. And Dr. Huang has disappeared.
