No chairs with armrest to assist with standing. Staff made no attempt to make the process easier. They clearly looking to herd people through and sell them glasses. Do not recommend. What should've been a simple pickup turned into one of the most uncomfortable experiences I've had at any service provider. I came in to pick up my prescription glasses at the Winter Haven location and was met with shocking, unprofessional behavior from a staff member. While I was gathering my paperwork, a staff member instigated bullying about my appearance, prompting another customer to make rude comments, all while the staff member stood by, clearly enjoying the situation. Instead of maintaining professionalism, the staff member encouraged this disrespectful behavior and took pleasure in my discomfort. This is the complete opposite of the "welcoming" environment that Optical Outlets claims to provide. It was a deeply unsettling experience, and I won't be returning. read more

Too crowded. Hurried, not thorough customer service. Natasha, the manager, was good but the two follow-up visits were problematic. I had to wait too long to see the optometrist a second time as the first pair of glasses were defective. No one called me when the replacement pairs were received. I pity the customers that don't get the status of their orders by phone or text and do not know they can check the status online. I had to wait an hour and a half to pick up the replacement glasses as they draw a line over my name in the sign in form, writing that they had called me twice. False. My name was not called in English or Spanish! If I had not approached the receptionist to inquire when I was going to be called I would not have known of their cancellation while I was waiting about 30 feet away. read more

We've been here twice. This is the only company that's does Saturday exam and that takes our insurance. Each time I've come it's just felt sketchy but each visit with the eye doctor had been nice. The staff have been really nice . It was about the time for our annual eye exam. I made the appointment online. Leading up to my appointment I got several texts, phone call, & emails. When we arrive 15 min before our appointment to fill the update paper work. Our name was called so we can get our eyes dilated we were informed that the doctor was running a little behind. I was like 15 min? She no an HOUR! my appointment was scheduled for 11:00 he wasn't going to show up until 12:00! I've used work at a doctors office. This doctor wouldn't show up in until 9:00 but his first patient was at 8:00. His staff would preps the patient then when he arrive at 9:00 he would spend less then 10 min. In each room. I was left several messages reminding me of my 11:00 appointment and he doesn't show up until 12:00. He probably not even ready to his patient until 12:30. I am so sadden by this. It's tough finding a good eye doctor where I live. If I lived in Orlando I would better choices. read more

Only Dr. Ismail is able to prescribe the right rx for me, he specifically told me to only see him, his staff kept placing me with other doctors that prescribed the wrong rx, told me I needed bifocals and so like a dummy, I listened to the doctor, got the glasses, could not walk or see, went back, had to wait another month for the real doctor to see me, he said no, I don't need bifocals. And they have refused to refund me my out of pocket costs for the bifocals and the NO LINE bifocals I paid for. Apparently they do not give refunds and they pocket the money the manager told me. For years I have been asking them for my refund, they don't want to do a refund, then credit my son who needs glasses, nope they will not do that. Moral of the story, NO REFUNDS IF THEY RX YOU THE WRONG SCRIPT. No signage informing customer of this. This was a couple of years ago, I keep going back and all they do is give me lip service about checking into my refund without any intention, then just early this month I was told about this NO REFUND they have. I probably am not qualified to review Optical Outlet because I never even completed my first appointment. My insurance company listed them as in-network, so I booked an appointment for myself and my wife, including giving them my insurance card number. When we arrived, we were both bothered by the appearance. There is not a doctor, examining room, or display of glasses to be seen. Their service might be great, but the office's first impression is that of a business office with secretries doing routine work. The receptionist was grouchy and seemed annoyed when she told us the office does not accept PPO insurance, despite my having already given the my data over the phone. The place looked so disreputable that my wife and I were actually glad to go elsewhere. We found a very nice, smaller practice. As I mentioned, we did not actually have any contact with doctors that I assume they hide somewhere in the back. Some reviews are good, and perhaps judging a book by its cover is unfair. This cover, however, looks tacky and unfriendly. We shopped elsewhere. read more

Horrible Service, Lousy Frames! I got NEW glasses with lenses and frames back in May of 2019. The darn frames broke by August and they REFUSED to repair them or replace them without ME Paying for NEW Frames. Three months is all these lousy things lasted and I take good care of my glasses. Heck I still have glasses from 10 years ago. Luckily my last prescription frames/lenses are still good enough. I will NEVER use these people again! Natasha, the office manager, reached out to me and explained that the lady who helped me was new and still learning. She said that if I came in and asked for her that she would help me select glasses and get a better deal on the price. I went in the same day and we selected glasses that were bifocals with anti glare, no bells and whistles that I didn't need and I paid a much more reasonable price for them! They now get five stars (although I would have gone back the next time I needed an exam because Dr. Ismael is thorough and honest) because of the excellent follow up! I had made an appointment at Walmart and the fastest they could get me in was a month. They told me their contact exam would be a little over a hundred to around $150, depending. I looked up other places and found this place. When I called, they told me a contact exam would about $69.99. I don't have insurance, btw. Awesome! Asked when they could get me in. She told me 5 pm if I was available (it was a little after 4). Yes please!!!! Please give me glasses and contacts! I was on my last contacts and shit was blurry. I was promptly greeted. The dr that saw me was a sweet petite little woman and she was very sweet. The girl who helped me with glasses was also very nice and we even bs-ed a little. I ended up getting two pairs of glasses and 6 months worth of contacts with no insurance for about $350. In my opinion, that's cheap as hell. Where I'm from (Michigan), it cost me over $500 for one pair of glasses and six months of contacts with insurance. This place was awesome for the price and I loved everyone read more

While Dr Ismial and Dr Levi were very thoughtful and trustworthy, their staff and call center are not. I called set up appt in Lake Wales only to get shoved to Winter Haven unknowingly. Staff wouldn't help with paper work. We asked glasses to be shipped to Lake Wales (more convenient). Call center called and sent texts that glasses were in Lake Wales only to get there, they said glasses are in Winter Haven. Asked staff AGAIN to send to Lake Wales,still getting texts and calls,glasses are in Lake Wales. Called L.W. store nope glasses are not ready. A manager called to give USPS tracking #. I was pleased with my experience, my insurance dictates I be seen there is how I discovered the outlet. I arrived a few min late and they didn't give me a hard time. The Dr is very knowledgeable and has a great personality. It is interesting that I didn't get a copy of my Rx either like someone has mentioned in their review. Went to Winter Haven Optical Outlet for my Annual Checkup. The Doctor dialated my eyes and told to have a seat. I was then called up to pay my bill and go home. Nearly home I get a call to come back to finish my glaucoma test. Well since I was told to go home and was nearly home I'd have to come back a different day. On Friday October 11th I had an appointment for 11:30am and I arrived at 11:15am. I waited 45 minutes while people came and went but I was never called. I went to the counter and asked what's going on since I have been waiting so long, she said she didn't know. I waid I would wait a little longer but at 12:40pm I said I was leaving. Two big fall downs at this location. 1. My eyes were dialated and they had me. Come to the counter to pay my bill and told me to go home. 2. Waiting over an hour is unacceptable since people came and left whole I say there. Lady at the counter should have checked with the Doctor why I wasn't called. These people need training and I feel my file was not given to the Doctor do I don't think he knew I was there. read more

I had an appointment for an eye exam for 1:50 PM was told to arrive 15 minutes early, which I did. The small office was packed and I had to stand for a good amount of time till a seat came available. There were literally 8-10 (I lost count) people scheduled ahead of me and the wait was extremely long. They checked my pupillary distance, pressure, etc. out in the waiting room/reception/eyeglass sales area in front of everyone. I politely told them all I wanted was the exam and I wouldn't be buying glasses from them. They didn't relay the information to the optometrist who I had to tell that to as well. He seemed to become visibly upset and almost ordered me to take the $100 my insurance covered and buy glasses from him. He said "take the free glasses". They exam was very quick, only about 5 minutes, my eyes weren't dilated and I didn't receive anything but, the most basic vision test. (The lenses in front of the eyes). I have always gotten a more comprehensive exam from every other optometrist I have visited and I believe the reason my exam was rushed was because I wasn't buying glasses from them. I also witnessed not one customer receiving a copy of their prescription after getting an exam the doctor brought their papers out and handed them directly to the eyeglass pushers. One guy repeatedly said to one of the employees he didn't have a lot of money and since his insurance only paid $70 he hoped the glasses wouldn't cost too much. Not once was he given the option to get his prescription and buy a more affordable pair of glasses elsewhere such as Walmart, Zenni Optical, etc.Below is a copy of the FTC practice rule for optometrists. FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION PART 456--OPHTHALMIC PRACTICE RULES-- Sec. 456.2 Separation of examination and dispensing.
