Five stars for the best Dentist and staff at Optima Dental! I went in to Optima dental for an impacted wisdom tooth removal today. This was my first time having a tooth pulled, and I was pretty nervous about the ordeal. From the kind staff at the front desk (Stephanie) to the reassuring and skilled assistant (Carlos) the team at Optima dental really put me at ease before I even sat in the chair for my procedure. Then comes in Dr Soysal, he is personable, confident and very reassuring. He is so gentle, I did not even feel the needle at all! Everything went so smooth. During my root canal treatment, he noticed a minor issue with how the tooth was fitting. Although I wouldn't have noticed this myself, he took the time to patiently explain the issue in detail, showing me exactly what was happening on the X-ray. Instead of opting for a quick temporary fix, he reordered the tooth to ensure a perfect fit and prevent potential future problems. It had been a while since I have been to the dentist. Ok 10 years but who's counting? I can honestly say this is the best dental experience I have ever had! I was really scared on what they would find since it had been so long. I needed a deep cleaning and one of my fillings replaced because it was old and getting corroded. They are so gentle with your teeth and extremely patient. They give you sunglasses to wear so the bright light is not in your face the whole time. Offer you ChapStick when your lips start getting dry. Give you more Novocain if I was still feeling pain. Just really show they care about you as a patient and you're not just a number! As a new patient, I'm getting a free teeth whitening treatment to top it all off! They are open on weekends so extremely convenient. I will definitely be back in the 6 months recommended! Do not go to this practice. I have given my trust here completely. I came into his clinic because this dentist proclaimed he is a "gum specialist" and had a deep cleaning done. He proceeded to tell me I have mild to moderate periodontitis with no explanation of how or why he came to that conclusion. I then came in for a crown he proceeded to tell me needed to be done immediately on a tooth that never bothered me. I let him take care of this only to have a crown that doesn't fit and hurt me for 8 months to this day coming in multiple times for a reevaluation of him barely even looking at it and telling me it's perfect while I can't chew or even touch it with a toothbrush without pain. This doctor has also taken my wisdom teeth previously only for those areas to now hurt and find out later from another dentist that this extraction area has a bone shard that needs to be taken care of and laser treatment for my gums to heal over the area. Dr alpagot had literally rushed my extractions at the time pulling my head over to one side to force that wisdom tooth out causing this damage. After having my wisdom done, I came in to have him look at the area to then tell me I needed an extraction on my natural molar confusing it with a wisdom he himself took out and had no recollection of. I then went to a higher educated dentist in periodontics who proceeded to tell me I barely have mild gingivitis and clean teeth all around. This doctor will lie to you. He aggressively treats teeth and only cares for your money. He recently terminated my patient status only for wanting him to correct my crowns placement or refund it as it was never done right. He should not be practicing here or at all as he has no expertise in anything he proclaims to. He recently billed me for treatments after my complaint that I paid for with care credit and had to come in to show him my Statements showing my payments for every treatment. People need to be cared for and this place is a mess. He will rush your treatment and he won't make sure it's done right. Go somewhere that will. The receptionists on the other hand are amazing and work way too hard. They deserve a raise and shouldn't have to put up with covering for this dental office. read more

I've never had a great experience as I have at a dental office as I have here. First off, scheduling appointments is so easy and the hours of operation really does help with my work schedule. Second, they are friendly, clean, and organized. They did they best to make sure insurance would cover what they can, and they work with you financially so that you can get the treatment you can get. Another key factor is the dental assistant, and their ability to work well with the dentist. I've been to other places before where I've came out with stains on myself or opened my eyes to see that the dentist is stained. They are a good team together, and both makes you feel comfortable and make sure that you aren't experiencing a lot of pain. This is probably the least pain I've ever been in with the procedures I have had done. Minimal aches after, and I don't feel nauseated. read more

I have been coming to this location for a couple of years now. I never imagined going to a dentist's office in a mall, but I have been very pleasantly surprised at how great of an experience it is. I have had cleanings and crowns done at this location and I have to say their customer service is just as stellar as their dental work. They are efficient, friendly, and are flexible when appointments need to be changed. Dr. Alpagot is the best dentist I have come across. Not only is he a practicing dentist, he is also a professor at PDU. A very understanding, patient and mild mannered doctor that tries his best to see to his patient's comfort (during the procedure). His assistant Crystal is really awesome as well as she knows what she's doing and does it well. My wife came here as a walk-in patient to get a chipped tooth fixed. They were able to take her right away and fixed the tooth up so you'd never know it was chipped. Their office is also very nice and modern looking, like the inside of a space-ship. read more

I have never in my life had such an incredible experience with a dentist! Not only are they open 7 days a week, but accept all sort of insurance(be sure to check before you go, but if you have emergency money for dental work, they of course accept that form of payment too)!! I called, got an appointment for THAT morning after my filling had fallen out; he then got all my xrays done(meanwhile there is a TV in front of you with cable so you can just watch Law & Order SVU like i did), gave me the run down of what was currently going on with my teeth, replaced 2 fillings within an hour and had me out, ready to start my day! Called their number at 7am and Dr. Alpagot called me back within 20 minutes and arranged to meet me at 9am at the office, earlier than opening time. He was very thorough, professional and expertly explained what was going on. I needed a root canal and I gladly went along. It was a great, 0 pain experience and now I can go on with my day without worry and pain and travel next week as we planned. I will be back for final treatment and more. I was disappointed that this office over charged my Visa acct by $9000! it took them close to 1 month to call Visa and credit my acct. I kept calling this office and they kept telling me it was electronically resolved, however my acct kept showing the over charge amount. 2nd issue I have with this office, I took off 1/2 day on a Friday to have my veneers work completed. I sat in the chair and they proceeded to numb my upper lip with 2 injections. 15 minutes later, they inform me they didn't have the glue to complete the veneer work, that I would need to arrange another appointment to complete the work!! WHAT PROFESSIONAL DENTAL OFFICE DOESN'T CARRY GLUE?? OR TAKE THE TIME TO PREPARE FOR THIS PROCEDURE? They knew ahead of time that I was coming into the office to have my veneer work completed! 3rd issue, the dental that worked on my front teeth, grinded my front tooth down to where the nerves are extremely sensitive, which means now I will need a root canal!!! After our long-time dentist retired, we were looking for a dentist for a while, and we came across with Optima Dental while shopping in Oakridge Mall. Dr. Alpagot, his wife, and staff are all amazing people. They surely know how to provide exceptional service to patients of all ages. I could go on and on about how high tech and clean their office is (digital instant x-rays, big screen TVs in each room), but really, you are here to get honest opinion about your treatment options. Availability of in-house specialty services is a very big plus. We did not have to go to another office for gum and implant surgery, and for orthodontist. In addition, I have referred several of my friends and family, and they are all happy with the service at Optima Dental. Overall, a knowledgeable, experienced and professional team providing just plain good dental care. Beware this is the worst dentist we have ever experienced the dentist lied to me told me he needed to cut into my daughters mouth to locate her tooth he said there was no other way he cut her gums open under her lip and went looking for a tooth which she couldn't find. My daughter came out crying, she's 16 years old. she had stitches between her lips and her gums. He had no reason to do this because her 3d X-rays showed were her tooth is! they also make it very difficult to get your dental records to other dentists the claim only the dentist can authorize and he's never there. read more

I want to share my unforgettable time at this horrific dental practice!! Please read the review before making an appt!! It has been 12 days since my appt and I am still in extreme pain. The end of the year was close and I made a quick appt for myself and my husband to get a cleaning. I have worked in the dental field for over 10years so going to a unknown office did not scare me at all. The office is nice and clean. The assistant was very pleasant.... I waited over an hour to actually see the dentist. The dentist looked at my X-rays mentioned my wisdom tooth, which kinda was bothering me so we decided to remove it. Again this didn't scare me, I have seen my X-rays over the years and new it was an easy extraction. But before the extraction... Not once did he check my teeth besides the X-ray, he did not use an explorer, or a perio probe ( measures the pockets) took absolutely no records of my perio measurements. He did not check the oral cavity for any abnormal signs and did not check for any tmj problems... This is all standard dental check up procedure for patients. He simple looked at the X-ray. I knew it was strange but since the field I have been in for a long time, and knowing my old dentist who I worked for in my old town, I knew my teeth were in good shape. Ok so I'm just there for a cleaning and a quick extraction.... Boy was I wrong!!!! He gave me anesthetic and began the extraction. I was not completely numb, I could feel extreme pain on one side. He gave more anesthetic. I still could feel the pain. He continued to try and tell me it was just pressure. Believe me I know the difference between pressure and pain. I was crying hysterically, begging him to stop if I raised my hand which indicated the pin was just too much. He continued to tell me to push through it. The pain was unbearable!!! The lingual side was completely numb ( next to the tongue) but the buccal side I could feel everything ( cheek side). I cannot describe enough the pain I was going through and he just kept going. My husband even came in the room as he could hear me crying and yelling to stop from the waiting room. He continued to say push through it and that its infected that's why it hurts so much... Bs there was no indication of infection!! After an hour of trying to get the tooth out and the most horrific pain of my life the tooth came out. He placed 3 sutures and I was done. He then continued to my husband cleaning. I was so upset I left and waited in the mall crying still in pain with my son while my husband got his cleaning. Once done I asked my husband why his cleaning took so long and he said the dentist had to get him numb??? Why it was suppose to be a regular cleaning. I knew at that point, my husband had gotten a 4 quad SRP ( scaling and root cleaning) Knowing from my knowledge that SRPs are priced per quad of the mouth. My husband said that he said there there is no fee for his cleaning. Well 12 days forward. I did not return for a follow up and just received a bill almost $800 for my husbands cleaning which was just like my indication a bill for 4 quad SRPs!!!! I will be reporting Dr. Tamer Alpagot and his practice. Not only did he botch my extraction but he knowingly scammed his way into performing a full mouth SRP on a patient who was under the impression it was a regular cleaning. I beg of anyone to please stay away from this practice. Believe me there are many amazing dentists out there and some shady ones. This is an office you should stay away from. read more

The positives they did take me quickly on a Saturday both the dentist and the receptionist called to schedule an appointment. The office is clean and modern some of the staff is friendly and helpful. The negatives I had a very complicated extraction and was in considerable pain through out the 5 hour ordeal, only Novocain was given or offered. I was sent home and no one bothered to check in to see how I was doing. I called twice because there was a hard lump and lot of foul drainage and the receptionist told me it was normal, after I persisted she told me the dentist would call me back, he did not either time. I went to my physician for a stronger antibiotic. On the follow up appointment I shared this information with the dentist who stated he would take care of it. To further aggravate the situation before beginning they required payment in full despite the fact that I had 2 dental insurances. I was told the insurance would be verified on Monday and I would be refunded once verified. I called 5 times to get the insurance/refund squared away and was told someone would call me back....never got a call back. Still have not received a refund despite one of the insurances having paid them. I would not recommend this dental practice. read more

This is the simply the best dental experience I have ever had. Dr. Alpagot was wonderful and truly enjoyed talking to him. He does an especially good job of carrying on conversation and keeping you engaged while working in your mouth. He often stops to listen to you which is awesome. I feel like Dr. Alpagot really knows and explains on a large TV screen what is going on in your mouth in a way that's easy to understand and realistic but not dumbed down. The office is gorgeous, very clean and modern, and the office hours perfectly match to my busy schedule. The staff in Optima Dental is AMAZING.
