I recently took my child here for a wisdom teeth consult. Disappointing experience from start to finish. Doctor was dismissive and spent less than 5 minutes with us. He did not take time to answer our questions, making us feel rushed and unheard. The biggest red flag was the pricing. After learning we had two insurances, the cost suddenly doubled and the initial discount was removed. The consultation fee alone was nearly twice what other offices charge, and this holds true for overall pricing of the procedure. It's clear the money made at this business does not translate to the quality of care. A provider should genuinely care about their patients. We are extremely satisfied with the other provider we saw (even though it cost another consultation fee). Good luck. read more

I needed a tooth extraction and subsequent bone graft to prepare for future implants. Several visits were required. The doctor's attitude over the course was consistent: aloof and distant. During the bone graft, he never once interacted with me, for exam: "Are you ok? I am going to do this and that, next step should be this and that...". He was busy bragging to his assistant about his trips, his life - all in English while I was Vietnamese speaking - and so is he. He never acknowledged my existence. Once done, he took off to the next patient without saying bye and without explanation of treatment plan. Horrible bed side manner! I would give this place zero stars if I could. My experience at this office was deeply disappointing. I went in for a consultation to determine whether a biopsy was necessary, but the dentist seemed to have already decided I needed one before even examining the area in question. This was alarming, especially since my general dentist was fairly confident the spot didn't need to be biopsied --I was simply seeking a second opinion for peace of mind. From the moment the oral surgeon entered the room, the experience went downhill. He didn't introduce himself or even say hello--just walked in and asked why I was there, despite having received a referral. It quickly became clear he hadn't reviewed the referral or even the intake paperwork I had filled out. I even asked him if he had a chance to review the referral, and he said, "I have it here." I highly doubt he reviewed the referral. He began asking me questions I had already answered on the forms, which made it apparent that he hadn't reviewed the forms I completed. Throughout the brief appointment, he repeatedly cut me off when I tried to speak and came across as extremely rude, cold, and dismissive. I felt uncomfortable and unwelcome--definitely not how a prospective patient should be treated. What shocked me the most was that during the exam, he never put on gloves. This raised serious concerns about the sanitary practices of the office. After the exam, he left the room abruptly without saying whether the consultation was over or if I had any questions, or even saying thank you for coming in. A staff member came in a few minutes later--clearly confused--first saying she was there to schedule wisdom teeth removal (which had nothing to do with my visit). I had to correct her and inform her that I was NOT there for wisdom teeth removal. I also told her I wasn't given a chance to ask the Oral Surgeon questions and that I had a few questions. She told me she would be able to answer my questions. When I asked what the biopsy would entail, she initially described a completely unrelated procedure and later admitted she was mixing up information. While she was polite, her confusion only added to my concerns about the office's professionalism. At that point, I decided not to schedule anything and left immediately. I was a bit upset that I felt like I wasted money paying for a useless consultation, because there was no way I would be giving this office my business. I would also never refer anyone to this office--unless it was my worst enemy. I understand that dentistry is also a business, but it felt as though this office prioritized profit over patient care. It gave me the impression that procedures are recommended regardless of necessity. Thankfully, I later got a second opinion from another oral surgeon who was confident that a biopsy wasn't necessary and provided a calm, informative, and professional consultation. If you're looking for quality care in a welcoming, respectful environment, do yourself a favor and avoid this place and the grumpy, cold oral surgeon entirely. read more

Broke my jaw earlier this year and was referred here. The doctor was very professional, he was willing to get my procedure scheduled quickly within a couple of days considering it was a quite a traumatic injury He initially performed a closed reduction on my jaw which went smoothly, he was quite good with taking breaks and adjusting the anesthetic to let me be more comfortable during the procedure. Two months later he removed the rubber bands and the metal plates in another procedure which also went well. 3+ months later after the removal, my jaw is pretty much back to normal, so would highly recommend! read more

Was recommended by my dentist to come here for my wisdom teeth removal and they accepted Delta Dental. I called on a Monday evening to book a consultations and they had openings the next day. I booked a Wednesday consultation and check in was easy once I got there. They took me back for my X-ray and once that was done, Dr. Nguyen took a look at it and went over the complications that may arise. He also discussed the what anesthesia I wanted and told the assistant to just show me the cost of both. Then told me that there was an opening next Wednesday and left. I honestly liked how straight to the point he was as he wasn't rude, but just a straightforward man. The assistant went over my options and booked me the appointment and I was on my way. Day of extraction, the receptionist made sure to go over the consent form and also where my prescription should've sent. Then I was let back to the room. First a topical anesthesia was applied and then Dr. Nguyen came and injected the local anesthesia. After waiting, he then began the procedure, but first told me to let him know if it still hurt. Throughout the processes, there were times when it did hurt, but he made sure to stop and inject more of the anesthesia. Overall, the extraction took about 20 minutes (all impacted, 1 tooth had partial eruption, 3 had not erupted). There were times when he had to press down on my jaw to get it out, but overall wasn't that unpleasant of a process. The assistant went over after care and I was sent on my way about 30-35 minutes after I walked through the door. Will update after my mouth has had time to heal. read more

This review is mostly about the interactions with the doctor. I came here for an implant through a referral from my dentist. The front desk staff were friendly but all my interactions with Dr. Nguyen were all very cold. I never felt any warmth or friendliness. It seems like he gets a good flow of patients, so customer service doesn't seem a top priority for him. Out of the 3-4 visits I had with him, he never greeted me by name. He simply gets the task done and then he's off to his next task. Luckily, I only needed to come here for one procedure. If customer service and being made feel welcome is important to you, this doctor does not specialize in that area. It's good if you want to strictly do business. read more

From the consultation to the actual surgery, Dr. Nguyen and his staff took great care of us! My husband had cavities in his wisdom teeth, and it was causing him pain and discomfort. Our dentist recommended Dr. Nguyen. We were able to get a consultation within a few days. At the appointment, they took an xray of my hubby's full mouth, and displayed the rads on a giant screen. Dr. Nguyen went into details about the surgery, what to expect, and answered any concerns we had. The day of the appointment, they had my husband in and out within an hour! Anesthesia and all! The nurses gave him a detailed explanation of aftercare, what foods to avoid, and made sure that his medications were sent to the correct pharmacy. My husband is now back to his old self. We are very pleased that Dr. Nguyen just a phone call away. His staff was professional and very understanding. They even called him a few hours after his surgery to check in! This place is a rip off. I went for a implant consultation. They never verbally communicated with me that there is a charge for the consultation, otherwise I would have walk out. Since then, I received an Explanation of Benefits Statement in the mail stating that they charged my dental insurance for $250 for the consultation. In addition, they tried to put a claim through for $200 for a x-ray of my teeth through my insurance, even though I have paid them already through my FSA card (see below). ___________________ Claim DetailsClaim Details Claim Number: 396230416D0000201 Source: Debit Card Receipt Status: Not Needed Paid: $200.00 _________________ They quoted me over $6,000 for 2 implants. It took me yearss to finally go and search for a dental office that specialized in wisdom teeth removal. Not because I couldn't find any, I was just scared AF. I struggled through the pain and some infection as my 4 wisdom teeth made their debut. Yup, I was definitely chicken sh*t. I bookmarked some places on yelp but that was as far as I got. It wasn't until recently, December 2018, that I began researching again. I noticed my teeth had shifted and they looked extremely crooked. It changed my smile and I felt embarrassed. My invisalign/retainer no longer fit my teeth! My wisdom teeth were also difficult to reach, so it made it hard for me to brush and clean them..which caused bad breath. pew. I picked Dr. Timothy Nguyen because I read some reviews from other patients who had similar traumatic experiences with their own general dentist. All had positive experiences with Dr. Nguyen, so I decided to reach out to the office to make an appointment for a consultation. The day of consultation, I came into the office and was pretty surprised at how "grand" the office looked. Very spacious and kinda fancy. *TIP: If you're a new patient, before you go to your appointment, check out their website and register yourself. There's a lonnng list of questions so it's a lot easier/faster to fill it out at home.* Like others said, Dr. Nguyen goes through the consultation pretty quickly. I had to really sit and listen, just to make sure that I caught everything he said. I understand though, he probably can do this procedure in his sleep and has to go through the same spiel all day everyday. Just make sure if you have any concerns, just ask him then and there! After x-rays, he said that I could get all 4 wisdom teeth removed with just local anesthesia. After talking to a few coworkers about my procedure, they called me crazy because getting all 4 removed is "extreme." They said I'd be in pain, bleeding all over the place and that I wouldn't be able to eat at all! That freaked me out, but I wanted to get it all done and over with. I called the office and was able to change from local anesthesia to I.V. sedation. Costs extra but BEST DECISION EVERRR. On the day of the procedure, I had to make sure I had a ride home and I didn't eat/drink after midnight the night before. I arrived at the office and got called in pretty quickly. Jackie, the senior coordinator, started setting me up with the heart monitor and prepping the tools. She mentioned that I.V. sedation is meant to relax you and sometimes you do fall asleep. Soon enough, Dr. Nguyen came in and started my I.V. One of is his assistants placed my head back onto the headrest and I KNOCKED OUT!! I woke up afterwards, a little disoriented and wondered if they even extracted my teeth yet! I realized that there was gauze in my mouth and soon after, Jackie came in to tell me my ride was there to get me. I was SO HAPPY and EXCITED that it was over! I couldn't believe it! I got a prescription for antibiotics and norco, aftercare instructions and then I was on my way! I felt like superwoman. I didn't feel any pain since my mouth was still numb and I made sure to take ibuprofen once I started feeling any sensation. I had little to NO SWELLING whatsoever. I didn't even have to ice my cheeks. I didn't follow the aftercare instructions to the T though... Yes, I ate room temperature soup and soft foods, but since I was so ecstatic that the procedure went so well, I thought I could just eat somewhat soft/regular foods. I just swished my mouth with water to get rid of the food debris in the holes. But after a day or so, I started feeling a lot of pain in my bottom right hole. I googled that a blood clot is supposed form after you stop bleeding, which occurs 45minutes-few hours after your teeth extraction. It is important that it stays there otherwise your gums won't heal properly. If a blood clot gets dislodged (which can happen by swishing your mouth too vigorously with water), you can get a dry socket..which is very painful. I figured that I had dry socket, so I kept taking ibuprofen around the clock, along with my antibiotics until my follow-up appointment 1 week after. At the follow-up appointment, I feared the worse. I thought I had dry socket and waited for Dr.Nguyen to confirm it. After he examined my gums, he said that they were pink and were healing nicely! The pain I felt was from the nerve in my jaw. Since I got my wisdom teeth extracted at a later age, the holes were larger and so my nerve was more exposed and sensitive. Good to hear, got another prescription but for ibuprofen and I was good to go. Dr. Nguyen exceeded all my expectations! I would totally recommend him to anyone who needs to get their wisdom teeth extracted. He runs a tight ship and Jackie is great as well! One of the best decisions I ever made. read more

One of my wisdom tooth causes me some trouble and I asked a few dentist, they could not either offer help due to the complexity or the waiting time for surgery is too long. At Dr. Nguyen's, I called on Monday, got scheduled on Wednesday and got all my 4 wisdom teeth extracted on Friday in 40 minutes. I chose to be put into sleep and didn't even realize the surgery is done when I woke up I thought I'm still waiting. I tried to use ice bag during my first 3 days of surgery and it's magical to find that I didn't get swollen at all Today's the 8th day after my surgery, and I can already eat most of the food with caution. read more

Very good experience. He knows what he's doing and i had very little swelling despite getting all 4 removed at once. The local anesthetic worked well but the stitching process was very uncomfortable ( high pressure, not pain, so no avoiding it). Process is quick if you can handle it. Only thing i didnt like was this teenage(?) looking boy hanging around in gaudy clothes. Maybe a family member of the staff just shadowing. No introductions at all though so i thought it was kind of rude. Cost was high imo but recovery went well. First thing first, hate the dentist but the wisdom teeth had to come out. I found Dr. Nguyen through my boyfriend and sister who highly recommended him for wisdom teeth and implants. The first appointment was a consultation and was made through the phone. During the consultation, my x-ray was taken and Dr. Nguyen explained my wisdom teeth status. He said that I waited too long and the bottom two were of high risk to extract but the two top ones along with a extra tooth would be easy. After that, Dr. Nguyen went on to explain the different types of anesthesia; local, IV sedation or a pre-oral medication. I chose the pre-oral medication since I hate the dentist and was anxious. After the consultation, the front desk staff went over the pricing and scheduled me in for the surgery. The day of the surgery, I was at the office one hour prior to my appointment so the staff could administrate the medication. I waited in the lobby for about an hour and the staff were making sure I was okay. The staff then called me in the operation room to get me prepped. Shortly after, Dr. Nguyen came in to put the numbing gel on, let that set, then proceed with the injection. Before the surgery, Dr. Nguyen told me if I felt any pain, just raise my left hand and he would inject more numbing medication. I barely felt any pain and he was done within less than 10 minutes! Talk about amazing! Jackie, the assistant, went over the post instructions and prescription and just like that, I was on my way out. TLDR; 10/10 doctor. Quick and painless extractions. Did not swell or have any problems whatsoever and staff is very caring. Highly recommend! read more

I removed 3 wisdom teeth, alveoloplasty, AND gingivectomy (ALL ON THE SAME DAY!) with Dr. Timothy Nguyen in August 2020 - yes in the middle of a pandemic! Leading up to our consultation, I had a "periodontist" issue noted by my primary dentist and my gums in the back were swelling. They referred me to see a periodontist, but I had a strong feeling it had to do with my wisdom teeth, so I made my own decision to find a specialist. I was referred to Dr. Timothy Nguyen by a friend and it also helped that he was both an oral surgeon and a periodontist. On the day of my initial visit, we discovered a few issues in relation to the the "periodontist" part. 1. My previous orthodontist work was not great - they failed to remove teeth that would now have been critical and helped w the "overcrowding" I now have. 2. The misalignment of my teeth was causing my back molar to hit my gum vs into other teeth. He recommended that if this becomes an issue, we'll want to sand down that back molar. 3. He informed me that he will proceed with gingivectomy (removal of the gum overgrowth that was causing my gum swelling). He warned me this issue may come back again and he'll have to keep doing this if I don't take care of the larger ortho issue. -- We then looked into my wisdom teeth. Again, goes back to my ortho. Had he removed some of my teeth, I would have had more space for my wisdoms to grow... but nope. Now I had 2 pushing against my molar and stuck underneath my gum. WORST YET, I had one molar growing into my gum & was super mature and very close to a nerve. He gave me all these warnings about how it's close to a nerve and that the chances of him hitting her nerve is slim but possible. Honestly, after that first consultation, my anxiety was flying off the charts! Everything felt like it was working against me. The consultation didn't feel very optimistic at all After a few days of talking to other dentist friends etc, I moved forward with the scheduled appointment - I wanted to do everything at once and they gave me Valium before which helped me with staying quite calm. I was under local anesthesia meaning I was awake during the whole procedure. The whole thing took maybe 30-45 mins (maybe LESS). I was so impressed how quick it took. I am not going to lie that there were some points where I felt so overwhelmed and needed like 3 mini breaks My recovery was AMAZING. I think this highly attributes to the skill of Dr. Timothy Nguyen. I was out of commission for maybe 2-3 days, then I felt great and energized after. My wound healed quite nicely and didn't hurt after day 3. (When I removed my 1st wisdom teeth with another dentist, my recovery took 1 week! & I was expecting myself to be out of commission for 2 weeks on this procedure!) I really think Dr. Timothy scared the living crap out of me just to sandbag the hell out of the success of my surgery. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Nguyen as he is a very experienced and skilled oral surgeon. I had a very rare tumor called Ameloblastoma in my jaw bone, ate a hole in the bone and the roots of a few teeth. I consulted with 2 other oral surgeons and neither had any confidence to perform surgery on it and planned to refer me to UCSF. Luckily I found Dr. Nguyen thru Yelp, and he actually treated 2 other patients w/ this condition in the prior 12 months! The surgery was very successful (removed the tumor + 4 impacted teeth), no complications and the wound healed quickly each time. After the bone healed, Dr. Nguyen also performed implants for the 4 extracted teeth, and now life is back to normal again thanks to Dr. Nguyen and his staff! My regular dentist was also impressed w/ Dr. Nguyen's work and she actually requested for his referral slips. Dr. Nguyen's office is clean, modern, has all essential equipment on-site (incl. CT Scan), you can get everything done there and get results immediately. His staff are also on top of things and respond/follow-up to my inquiries promptly. I found this place through my insurances oral surgeon search because I needed to get my wisdom teeth extracted. I didn't need a referral to make an appointment here. I called to make an appointment and all the paperwork is all done online through their website. Consultation was on time, quick and lots of information about surgery and what is expected from my insurance and I. The business day before my surgery I received an email of what I was expected to pay and what I was going to sign when I got there. I liked that because I felt prepared coming in. I opted for local anesthesia and the whole procedure took no more than 15 minutes for two of my wisdom teeth. No pain but definitely was an experience being awake for someone to pull my teeth out. This post is seriously overdue. Now that I'm about two months out post-wisdom teeth removal, I think it's appropriate to write a review for Dr. Nguyen. First and foremost let me say, always try to get a second opinion for your teeth, especially if it's for your wisdom teeth! I was so close to potentially going the wrong direction with my dentist because I was in so much pain, but thankfully I didn't. Let me say, Dr. Nguyen is the most professional and no bs kind of Dr. you need. He is a straight forward and informative Dr.! When I went for my consultation, I was incredibly nervous because I was afraid it was gonna be very expensive and that my wisdom teeth would be bad. Well I was right about one thing, my wisdom teeth were in pretty bad shape. Complicated, Bony, all that, really worse than I originally thought. But Dr. Nguyen cleared my conscious about all the scary stuff by answering all my questions and concerns. He was concise but to the point, which helped bc it made me feel less nervous about the whole procedure. It was a little pricey, but so worth it! Mainly bc I opted for the IV sedation ($850- where you're asleep). Three of my wisdom teeth was quoted between $450-$550 (but remember it ranges so get a consultation!!). I am so glad I didn't go to my regular dentist and instead got a second opinion and went to an oral surgeon for this procedure. The day of the procedure, it took only an hour and a half for everything to be done. Literally, the minute Dr. Nguyen put the IV needle in my arm, I was knocked out in a matter of seconds -- soo recommend the IV if you can! Post-operation, they give you papers to read about what to do and give you your prescription for your meds. Try to get your medicine ASAP, ice your face, and get rest!! I was in so much pain post-op, I didn't want to move or do anything lol. I had a little incident with the medicine that night also, but I called Dr. Nguyen (he has after hour/emergency calls) and he helped guide me through what to do and I felt better the next day! My dentist recommended Dr.Timothy for my wisdom tooth extraction, yelp rating also seemed great but a couple of negative reviews where the reviewers had bad experience during tooth extraction really concerned me. But I had an extremely positive experience. When I called for appointment, I was told they will schedule an initial consultation and then schedule the extraction appointment. When I went for consultation, doctor said this seems straight forward, if I wanted he will do the extraction right away! This was a surprise to me because few years ago another dentist had told me that because of the way my wisdom tooth had grown, it will be a significant procedure including full anesthesia, I had been postponing this extraction ever since! But Dr.Timothy said he will extract it in just 5 mins with local anesthesia and I can drive back home immediately. I said yes, Dr.Timothy was extracted the tooth very quickly and my total time from walking in and out was just 30 mins! Their support staff was also excellent. I showed up on time and they had very fast check-in and took me directly to the doctor's room without making me wait in the lobby. They showed me the bill estimate before hand and since I had not carried my FSA card, they took my credit card and asked me to call over the phone later to change the payment to FSA, very accommodating team. Only hicckup was that they sent prescription to the wrong pharmacy, I called from my pharmacy about that they quickly sent it to correct pharmacy within few minutes, all good. I was suffering from tooth pain from time to time, afraid to have my impacted wisdom tooth surgical removed. After a loooot of research found Dr. Nguyen in Milpitas with outstanding reviews and availability to take me in for a consultation within days. Went for the consultation and panoramic imaging and was able to perform the surgery the same day! But before, he sent me to the pharmacy to get my medication first, antibiotic and pain med to take before the procedure and have it ready to take it home. After the anesthesia had made effect, it literally took minutes to have the job done. Amazing! Painless! He's super nice but straight to the point! Fast forward to the day of, I had the option of either local anesthesia (Knocked out) or just numbing of the jaw area. Clearly I choose the local anesthesia. I kid you not, they injected the needle in my left arm and within less than 5 minutes I was out like a baby. 45min later, extraction is done, no pain, no problem, no wisdom teeth anymore. Everything after the procedure is normal and common, bleeding gums, swelling, some discomfort (pain meds will help), etc. Don't worry though, because it'll get better by the 3rd day at the latest. Another thing to note is soup, will be your best friend. I want to say this again, Dr. Timothy Thoai Nguyen is a great oral surgeon and you have nothing to worry about. I am so grateful that I chose Dr. Nguyen for my wisdom teeth removal because my experience here was a dream! To preface, it's important to note that I don't do well with needles, blood, and pain. I had been dreading getting my wisdom teeth removed for so long and was so anxious about the procedure and the recovery period. To make matters even worse, I found out that all four teeth needed to go and that all four were horribly impacted, with one of them even located very close to my nerves. I wanted to be put to sleep or at the very least, sedated. But Dr. Nguyen told me that I would be fine just under local anesthesia so I decided to suck it up and go that route (it ended up being the cheapest one too). The procedure itself was fairly quick. I was in and out of the office in under an hour and about 20 minutes of that time was spent simply waiting for the anesthesia to kick in. Dr. Nguyen is such a professional; he removed all four of my wisdom teeth in literally 15-20 minutes! The procedure was so smooth and painless. I was in so much disbelief that I said out loud to the doctor and the assistant: "Wait, we're done?" LOL I was so worried because I thought that I would have a horribly painful recovery after removing all four out. But it actually wasn't that bad at all! There was a lot of bleeding, but I wasn't swollen at all! The pain was also very bearable, I just felt sore but I ended up not even having to take my prescribed painkillers; I was fine just alternating Tylenol and Ibuprofin. I had my follow-up appointment exactly a week later and Dr. Nguyen said my gums were healing very well. He gave me a syringe to clean out my surgical areas from food debris but told me I had nothing else to worry about. Thank you so much, Dr. Nguyen and team for making my wisdom teeth journey so easy! This review is seriously overdue, as I got my wisdom teeth removed about 7 years ago when I was in high school. I've been traumatized since. My orthodontist recommended Dr. Timothy since I needed my bottom two wisdom teeth extracted. They were pushing inwards so if they hadn't been removed, my bottom row teeth would've shifted back to normal. Disclaimer: I've never had a surgery in my life, so I was very anxious nonetheless. Unfortunately at the time, we could only afford the local anesthetics. The pain I felt during the extraction was so ruthless and unbearable. The nurse at the time who administered the local anesthetics probably didn't do a good job. I was aware patients get a certain amount but what was given to me was not enough. I had asked for more, since I could still feel some senses in my mouth area. Who knows if it was my nervousness that affected the numbing? But regardless, it was not enough. Either that or the surgeon himself didn't do a good job. I believe one tooth had to be broken in order for him to pull it out. He made an incision and it hit a nerve. THE WORST PAIN I HAVE EVER FELT IN MY BODY SYSTEM. My head automatically jolted back hitting the chair, my eyes immediately started gushing with tears streaming down my face, in which the Doctor instructed the Nurse to "inject more!!" It was absolutely ridiculous and horrendous. WHERE WAS THIS WHEN I ASKED FOR IT 15 MINUTES AGO. Everyone (the doctor, the nurse, and myself) was panicking. I was in so much pain at the time. I don't remember much after that because I was in such an emotional state. I still have my two upper wisdom teeth, and chose not to remove those ones unless completely necessary. If I do have to take them out, I will not be returning to Dr. Timothy. While he has reputable reviews on Yelp, this is my honest truth and my own personal experience with him at his office. read more

My dentist referred me to Dr. Nguyen for my erupted tooth extraction because this tooth was close to the nerves and its extraction may lead to a high risk of injury. Dr. Nguyen surprised me by performing such a fast and pleasant extraction procedure. There was no active bleeding after the surgery - not too much blood on the gauze placed over the surgical area right after the surgery. In addition, to my surprise I had a comfortable healing process and did not have to take the prescribed pain medicine at all. However, the following day after the surgery, an early Saturday morning, I developed allergies to the antibiotics. Thankfully, the office emergency line was connected directly to Dr. Nguyen's personal phone over the weekend. He took note of my pharmacy information and called them for new antibiotics prescription. I got the new antibiotics right away. I was grateful for Dr Nguyen's quick response, care and proficient surgical skills! read more

If I had more wisdom teeth to take out, I would 100% come back here. It was such an easy experience. My consultation was last week, and my appointment was yesterday morning. My follow-up is next week. Background: I had my bottom 2 wisdom teeth removed in 2010 at another place in San Jose that I really did not enjoy. The operation was traumatizing. Needless to say, I was not excited about Round 2 of wisdom teeth removal... the top 2. I was referred to Dr. Nguyen by my dentist and read every single review on Yelp and Google. Day of operation: I arrived early, but my appointment was at 9:45am. I was sedated within a minute. I don't remember falling asleep? I woke up and was afraid that the sedation was wearing off and I didn't have my teeth removed yet. They came in to tell me that my operation was finished. WOW! My brother appeared to drive me home/get my antibiotics. 24 hours later (today): No complications so far, just lots of bleeding yesterday. I have little swelling in my cheeks and no pain. Bleeding has subsided but still is happening. I am still in awe of how smoothly this operation went. I'm totally recommending this place to everyone that needs their wisdom teeth taken out. 5/5. I'm so glad I decided to come here for a consultation. My past two dentists have told me that I should visit a periodontist because of my receding gums, but I've been postponing this trip for a while since I was busy with school, so I was a bit nervous and anxious coming here.. When I came, Dr. Nguyen was very approachable and explained all the details to me within our 10 minute encounter, not leaving out the success rates and such. Though he professionally discussed the surgical options, I could feel he was discouraging me from getting a bone graft because my recession wasn't as bad as I thought it was. He advised me to be more careful flossing and brushing so that my condition doesn't worsen. Had I gone to another periodontist, he/she would've probably told me to move forward with the surgery that I didn't need (or, at least, where the costs would more likely outweigh the benefits), but I'm glad I didn't.
