Optima Medical / Taylor Price APRN As a new patient I used Zodoc to schedule an appointment for the next day in the afternoon. They called 8 am due to a problem using Zodoc and rescheduled for a couple of days later to see Erik Munoz. I showed up for that appointment but since Erik doesn't accept Medicare they had to reschedule again. They managed to squeeze me in for an appointment the next day with Taylor Price APRN. Visit was great. She listens well and very thorough. If using your cell phone to fill out Patient Information using their link, it didn't accept the information that I spent an hour entering. So then, I copied the link to my home computer and filled it out from there. Also, be prepared to spend another 30 minutes in their office answering the many health questions using their kiosk. read more

In the last several years...they have had their ups and downs...front office was touch n go, the turnover, who knows. Seems solid now though. Texting with front office staff for appts and refill requests is much better than it was ...and the Med techs have always been really sweet and friendly. I originally saw PA Theresiamo Anthony (lol, spelling) Ive really missed her! We connected, I felt heard and validated. Others ive seen since have been professional. But, Ive felt super-misunderstood and invalidated pretty regularly. Maybe Ive just outgrown the whole-sitch. No hard feelings, just time to move forward. I wish everyone there well. read more

The providers at Optima in Prescott are terrible. I had to request my own medical images and tests. I have very valid medical problems and have spoken to a friend who is a Medical Doctor about this. He urged me to find a new provider because this one is obviously not addressing life threatening issues Also, office staff is just as inept as the medical providers read more

Our family has had a very disappointing experience with this office, and I feel it's important to warn others. My dad is declining rapidly and we have been trying to get help, but the care here has been unacceptable. His wife has called countless times trying to reach the doctor, and no one ever calls back. There is no email or digital communication available, everything requires making an appointment and physically coming in. Today we showed up for what we thought was an appointment, only to find it had been "forgotten" and was just for bloodwork. When we explained we urgently needed counsel, the PA said she didn't have time to return patient calls. That is not an acceptable excuse, if the workload is too heavy, it needs to be addressed by management, not pushed onto patients who are desperate for care. To make matters worse, the PA raised her voice at us when we pressed for help. This unprofessional escalation led to raised voices on both sides and even a threat to call the police, all because we were simply advocating for my dad's care. That is completely unacceptable behavior from a healthcare professional. This lack of communication, professionalism, and support is unsafe and deeply frustrating. Patients should never feel abandoned or treated with hostility by their care team, especially when health is declining and time is critical. If this office cannot handle their patient load, then they are doing harm by continuing to accept patients. We will be reporting this incident. read more

I have been seeing Eric Munoz for a year, and I am so happy I found him. Every time I see him I feel heard, he does not rush me and takes time to answer my questions. I see him every 3 months for my medication management. He submits my prescriptions quickly and I never have to go without while waiting for them to be refilled. His staff is great, including the front office staff. It has been a great experience. I love that if I need to get in right away, I am able to do that. read more

I am a recently retired physician and former owner of a clinic and surgery center. I can no longer be silent regarding the ongoing substandard care I have received as a patient of Optima Medical Clinics. I am not going to name the PA-C that I refer to in the following post because she is likely a victim of Optima Medical's greed and very bad policy decisions. I also do not want to hurt her reputation because we are all redeemable and can learn from our mistakes. Today 2/19/25 appt. at Optima Medical Prescott, AZ for blood pressure med refill--Before seeing provider, 2 different staff members told me it was time for my annual blood work and physical even though I had blood work done 8 months ago. I politely declined. Then, a mid-level PA-C came in the room and immediately told me she would not treat my high blood pressure in the future unless I had blood work done today and every 6 months thereafter, despite the fact that there was no medical justification for labs given my normal blood pressure reading with no other complaints. When I explained to her that I do not prefer to undergo blood tests given that I am healthy and my blood pressure is normal on my 2 meds, she rudely told me that if I didn't comply I should "go somewhere else." When I suggested that providers work for patients, she stormed out of the room saying, "No they do not." She came in the room with guns blazing knowing I told the office staff I did not want a blood draw or annual physical. This is the third time an Optima Medical provider has demanded that I comply with blood draw/EKG and/or a physical in order to get treatment. I have always been polite and eventually agreed to blood work despite the fact that they stick me multiple times before sending me to Lab Corp for a competent blood draw. My philosophy when practicing was always, "I work for the patients." Patients are consumers and DO NOT work for, or answer to physicians, FNP's or PA's. Providers can suggest tests, blood work, physicals etc...but it is always the right of the patient to decline testing/procedures and things DONE TO THEM without threat of being removed from the practice. When did the practice of medicine become a dictatorship?? Yes, as a provider it is prudent to explain to patients why you need the procedures/tests and the possible risks of not doing them. It is called informed consent. But patients can still say NO thank you without penalty. Threatening patients that they must get blood work, physicals, procedures or anything else the provider deems necessary or they will no longer be treated is wrong and borders on malpractice. I recognize a money grab when I see it. The bottom line in medicine seldom, if ever, favors the patient. Time to change how you do things Optima Medical. You need a wake-up-call. read more

I was told last night via text that my provider was at a new location for my 8:30 appt this morning. The drive there is further about 30-45 minutes from my home. I was on time checked in. The process was over 10 minutes to get checked in even though I have been in the system for over 2 years. Once there I was taken back The MA came in to say the dr was having a problem with her computer and would be a minute. No problem. Then she came back to say they couldn't get the computer to work. So. I would need to reschedule. I said just get a paper and pen to take notes. She said no. They couldn't give service without a computer. WTH. See you kidding me and you want me to trust that you can provide medical treatment ???? read more

My wife had an appointment this morning in the Prescott office to see Tess Barnes about some allergy issues. After being ushered into an exam room, a nurse assistant came in to tell my wife that Tess Barnes was having trouble getting her computer to work, and would be a few minutes. After a few minutes, and no Tess Barnes, the nurse assistant told my wife that she would need to reschedule her appointment because Tess Barnes could not get her computer to work. Incredulous, my wife said to the nurse assistant, "Why doesn't she just use a pad of paper with a pen to take notes?" The nurse assistant replied, "Well, she can't do that. You'll need to reschedule your appointment." My wife got up and told the nurse assistant, "This is ridiculous -- I come in here for an appointment with a nurse practitioner and I cannot see her because her computer doesn't work??? I'm sorry -- that's not a valid excuse. I'm done here, and I am not coming back!" The nurse assistant said, "You mean you don't want to reschedule? This is going to look really bad on our reviews......" I don't even know where to begin with this --- this is absolute incompetence from top to bottom. This is a MEDICAL office where people are coming to receive medical care and services -- perhaps even getting prescription medication that they need to treat a medical condition. These are ESSENTIAL services ---- if somebody's computer doesn't work, then get a pad of paper and a pen and start taking notes while you meet with your patients!!!!!!!! As regards to any requirements for keeping medical records in electronic form --- well, get a medical transcription service to enter all those handwritten notes, and call The Geek Squad to get your computers fixed! What happens in an emergency room if the defibrillator suddenly goes on the fritz? Do the attending medical staff simply sit back while their patient on a gurney dies from cardiac arrest? What happens in an air traffic control tower if the power goes out? Do all the controllers head downstairs for doughnuts and coffee? Your office needs a serious overhaul...... a staff of incompetent numbskulls who are incapable of thinking on their feet and providing basic customer service. read more

They do not even deserve one star this place . I lived in this area years and went to family medical walkin then they change it over to optima. I went on a trip this past Oct and the Jamie Rich cut me completely off my meds because I left for my grand daughter's birth . I had been on the same med for years and she treated me like I was a no body . Today a friend of mine been with same medical place for yrs same meds and she says she can't treat him any longer because he had alcohol in his urine . He tells her he fills the tablet thing out every visit and stated that one of two beers a week. She tells him she discussed it with him prior and in her notes . She continues to flip through her notes and finds nothing . She on a big power trip . Cutting someone off meds because you decide it's now a rule . Show the rule in the contract Jamie . You care nothing about patients at Optima in Chino Valley. All you want to do is run test and try and get more money . Don't worry I found a way better doctor and my friend is as well. You should not be in the medical field treating people like criminals. I hope this place gets shut down for their lack of care for the patients. So many bad reviews I have read and I want people to know do not go to this medical clinic in chino valley,Az . She should be reported to the medical board . read more

Had an appt on 4/23 @8am. Even got a reminder call the day before. I showed up for my appointment and was told they needed to reschedule because they don't do annual wellness appointments that early. They said they called to reschedule which was a lie (my reminder call from them the day before) I explained it was not my problem and that I had taken the morning off work and they needed to see me today. They refused. It's not the first time I've had issues with Optima so I think I'll look elsewhere for a new doctor. They don't care about the quality of patient service just the amount of people they can cram into a workday. Avoid this place if at all possible. I wouldn't have given them any stars but Yelp won't post a review unless you do. So ZERO stars for Optima. read more

Always! *Doctir snack with beau in back while you wait. *If you tell them theyre late the dark haired office "queen" comes to get in your face and tell you theres nothing wrong with you. *No doctors stay long. When I returned to the office apparently the person handling the complaint thought it was funny and claimed i "said i was having a heart attack". Never mentioned anything to this effect, but it's a good thing I complained as I wouldn't have known about my liver disorder. Absolute joke and highly disrespectful. read more

Optima medical has been my worst medical experience ever. Ii saw a Physicians assistant but there are no physicians on site. We were dialing in some medications and when my numbers reached where they were supposed to be they took me off the medication. I challenged the logic and they said, this is how we conduct business. It made no sense to me so I went to a real doctor and she ran tests, put me back on the medication. My numbers are now stable. It appears that Optima just wants to ensure an income stream by bringing people back every 3 months. Do yourself a favor and stay away. read more

I would probably give zero stars if that were possible. Let me be brief, the doctor said he would refer my disabled adult son to two professionals for a couple of health issues. He said we would receive a text advising of who the referred professionals are. No texts came. He told my son to come in on Wednesday morning for blood work after fasting. My son arranged his transportation two days in advance as required by Medicaid. He arrived on Wednesday morning as instructed by the doctor. He was told the phlebotomist had called out and he would need to come back the next day. He explained that his transportation has to be scheduled in advance so he couldn't do that. I called later to understand this. I was told that although there were nurses there who were capable of taking the blood specimen they "refuse to handle walk ins" So a disabled man was turned away after the doctor specifically told him to be there on Wednesday morning at any time. When I asked during my call why we hadn't received the referrals I was told in a dismissive tone that referrals are handled by a different site. I was given a phone number for their other site and instructed to resolve that with them. Several more ridiculous issues revolving access to their patient portal occurred at the same time. Not even worth the time to type that. Here is the bottom line, they completely reject any notion that they have any responsibilities at this facility. Never again. read more

This location is dysfunctional in so many ways. They include extremely long waits in the waiting room, waits in the treatment room , phone calls not returned, failure to respond to pharmacy requests for refill. Seriously I think those faxes for refills just go in the round file. I have had them contact me to ask if I need anything and when I reply that I do need a prescription refill, they demand a visit first. The turnover of medical staff is constant. Run in the other direction. read more

If you don't like being treated like a criminal, don't go here! My husband and I go to this clinic and were very happy with them at first until one day my husband went it to see his doctor for a few reasons and then they told him they thought he was a drug addict and said they cant really help him. WTH!!!! They accused him of this before even sitting down with him and seeing what he needed help with. After my husband told him he was going to leave because he was so upset because he has never been called that in his life, BECAUSE HES NOT, they decided to take a look at a suspicious bump and told him it looked cancerous. After that there was no guidance on what to do next and they did not refill his proper anxiety medication either. So for 2 weeks until we found a new doctor, he has been in absolute fear and depression. He finally received a referral call almost 2 weeks later on getting a biopsy done, but thank God we found help somewhere else. We both called the clinic afterwards to find out what the hell happened and get an explanation. We were told we were going to get a call on Monday after the clinic manger spoke to the nurse who accused him of being a drug addict and we received nothing. This is EXTREMELY irresponsible and has made our lives the past 2 weeks horrible. I am so disappointed in the lack of care for their patient. From the nurse, to the doctor, to the manager. Unacceptable and I hope they do not do this to anyone else. read more

I would leave negative stars if possible. This is the absolute worst medical facility I have ever witnessed, and the appointment wasn't even for me, it was for my 12 year old son. He was seen by Eric, who was by far the most arrogant, condescending, rude man I have ever encountered in a medical practice. Especially toward a child. He treated my son like absolute garbage, didn't take his concerns seriously, never sent in the referral that he was supposed to, and after waiting for over an hour, my son was given less than five minutes of this man's time. Whenever my son spoke, he more or less told him he was wrong. This practice needs to be shut down, as decent or even humane bedside manner should be a prerequisite in patient care, and we experienced none of the above. This clinic has always taken care of my medical needs from flu shots to reg follow ups and exams .. the office is clean and usually busy .. yes there can be a wait, but I do get taken care of . Staff is friendly and patient. It's been my go to for a few years now. read more

The only good doctor there, Dr. Spiers, left and her replacement does not care about history or your concerns. You are just a piece of paper and your concerns are not valid nor correct, only the doctor is. The staff acts like you are a burden when needing to check in or fix an insurance mistake. A nurse literally gestured hanging herself while the other nurse had to wait to fix their own mistakes in the system. You cannot guarantee a phlebotomist will be there the full day let alone the whole day and it'll be your fault if you don't call ahead to check if they are properly staffed. This place is a joke! Don't waste your time. So many more bad experiences hat I won't waste my time writing about. read more

This is the worst medical office I have ever seen In particular, provider (Danielle Durnan) . Very poor/abusive medical practice. Will overbook and then cancel and reschedule appointments when you are already there in the waiting room. In doing this, they allow the patients to run out of medications. Medications that should not be abruptly stopped. This provider will not even give enough med for the patient to get to the next appointment, even though they were the cause of not being seen. This provider will leave or not show up and they say they tried to contact you but you have no email, text or voice mail from them. I advise you to find a private provider or got to Spectrum, Polara or Southwest Behavioral health. read more

NPTaylor treated me like a drug seeker because I wanted a refill of Ambien CR 6.25 almost 3 months after my first bottle of 30 tabs. I obviously was not abusing it and she was well aware the I work night shifts. Her wait time that day was 57min. Front desk staff said she was falling behind. My appointment was at 0900. I feel very fortunate to have this office close to home, and on my medical plan. All of the medical staff are Nurse Practitioners, and I've found that the NPs often offer the most detailed and personal care. This office proves that point. I really love the one I see, Thresiamma Anthony (Miss Anthony). She has such a positive attitude, and is so knowledgeable. You'll leave smiling, no matter what you are there for. I've found this office easy to get appointments in, and the front desk and aids are always friendly and helpful. read more

Staff is friendly...they seem very busy. I think the NP's truly have the patient's well being as a priority. I noticed they had a few trainees. Very convenient lab draw, ultrasounds, pharma etc... I had a good experience. Very accommodating with appointments. Haven't had to walk-in. read more
