I started coming here during the pandemic due to all of the positive reviews on Yelp and the fact that it was close to my work. I was able to speak to Jenny and used their Yelp promo for first time customers. It's been a while since I've visited, but I do believe they accept insurance when I started coming here back in 2021. When I came in, Dr. Bennett took an x-ray and did a consultation and came up with a plan. I started coming in 2 days a week and I mentioned to Patrick that my tailbone hurts when I sit for about 30 minutes. It hurt so much that it made it difficult for me to fly on a plane or drive to Vegas. After a few sessions with him, he totally cured my issue. It's been over a year since I've seen him and my tailbone is still in good working condition. He mentioned to me that my pelvis was over-rotated and he straightened it out. Prior to seeing him, I've been to many chiropractors and none of them have been able to fix my issue. After a few sessions with him, it got fixed. The office looks like a house and is located right behind the Cactus Taco stand. There's a handicap and regular parking spot right out in front and about 3 spots in the back. Just be aware that the driveway is on the narrow side and the parking in the back is very tight. If you have a large car or not comfortable with tight spaces, I would park on the street. read more

I have always been skeptical of chiropractic care. This myth that issues with pain could get worse due to aligning of back and neck especially the spine. Or even worse get paralyzed! All just my own anxiety. I kept getting very sick last year along with lots of pain in the neck and heartburn. My daughter told me how a neighbor's acid reflex went away as well as a boost in his immune system through chiropractic care. Being desperate and tired of doctors trying to get me to pop another pill, I thought I'd try it. My son had already had treatment from Dr. Bennett for sports injury. With the internet recommending you should only go to a highly trained chiropractor - it was a no brainer that I would try Dr. Patrick Bennett. My daughter also wanted to give it try. She had a baby 10 months ago. As soon as we walked in the office, we felt very comfortable and at ease. The office provides a homely feel. The office manager, Andrea is just amazing. I feel like I've known her forever. Patrick is so patient, funny, friendly, and very very knowledgeable. He explained the science and history behind chiropractic care which made me feel more at ease about the process. Dr. Patrick provided us with so much knowledge about other medical issues as well as diet and much much more. He is the best!!! He is sooooo passionate about his field. It's a good feeling to go for services where the professional truly enjoys his/her job. Also, there was no pushing (plus selling). If you would like to go to a good chiropractor with no mask requirements or pandemic restrictions, this is the place for you. The office is clean and organized, prices and prepaid options are reasonable, and staff (Lupe) is wonderful and helpful. My negative experience with Dr Bennett may be isolated to just me, but it was important for me to share an honest review of how I was treated. Dr Bennett is good at what he does and I do thank him for helping me in the short time I was his patient. I'm all for people having their own beliefs and educating others about those beliefs. Dr Bennett definitely tells his patients his beliefs, especially on not wearing masks and that COVID "isn't real", verbally and in handouts. I never disputed him, just watched and observed. I understand everything he's saying but still make a personal choice to wear a mask every time I'm in public enclosed spaces during this pandemic, because better safe (for others) than sorry! By my 5th appointment, I could sense his annoyance that I was still wearing my mask and whenever I was around, he would limit his free speech to me and other patients. I brushed it off, kept wearing my mask, and kept making appointments. One evening I walked in into an empty lobby, Dr Bennet said "Hello" to me and rushed towards the back. I distinctly heard him say, "this girl always comes in... (pss psss)" I couldn't hear the rest but it was enough to know he was talking behind my back. My last appointment was the killer, I walked into the room with him talking more about how COVID isn't real and "hospitals are empty..." but then stops his talking as soon as he see's me. It's now tense and uncomfortable the entire adjustment and I knew, this could just keep getting worse. I felt judged for making a choice to wear a mask. I felt judged for having different ideals as him. If I pay you money, and want to wear something that doesn't affect you at all, then respect that and your customers individuality. Knowing he was judging me and sharing his opinion about me to others, isn't okay with me and not what I want to pay for. I decided to end my prepaid corrective care plan early with Dr Bennett and am currently with another chiropractor. I truly hope that no one ever feels ostracized like I did. This supposed medical professional literally said to me, "You can go ahead and kill yourself" when I asked him to wear a mask during a pandemic. No, seriously. He really did. This chiro MIGHT mess up your spine... but he'll DEFINITELY subject you to an unsanitary treatment. Four of the last six times I went to see "dr" bennet, I overheard him talking in the other room about "maskholes" and generally being flippant about people dying from COVID. But that's beside the point. When I went in for my final treatment, I requested he wear a mask (like I do every time). Early in the pandemic, he was washing his hands between patients and agreeing to a mask. No longer. He grumbled that he didn't need to and "would if he could find one", but that I was going to read his literature on the way out. When I declined with a polite "no thanks," he told me I could go ahead and kill myself. Because he thinks a piece of fabric will kill me. Does he know about science? He refuses to wear a mask during a pandemic, because for some reason he thinks a piece of fabric will kill you. They're also not cleaning off treatment tables between patients. Maybe this is just me, but if someone's getting their "science" from an anti-vaxxer mommy blog, you probably shouldn't be letting them manipulate your spine. He's also not washing his hands between patients. Even if you think Covid is "just the flu", like "dr" bennet does, I personally don't want someone touching a stranger's greasy face and then immediately coming to touch mine. Ew. But is he a good chiropractor? Also no. Several years ago, I stopped going to him was because he literally showed me the receipts of how his treatments left my spine WORSE than before. After six months, he showed me an x-ray before treatment and after regular treatments. The first x-ray showed a perfect, healthy curve in my neck. However after being treated by this "doctor" (he's not) for six months, he showed me that it was completely straight (which was an entirely new problem of his creation). He then casually mentioned that it was "something we'd have to work to fix". TL;DR he's INTENTIONALLY creating problems that he then has to "fix"... with one or two weekly treatments at $40-$80 a pop. Find another chiro. This guy's no good. read more

After 4 months I was able to look at before and after x-rays and see with my own eyes a visual improvement in the structure of my spine and a decrease of subluxations!! And if I thought what I saw was amazing Dr. Bennett's detailed explanation of the improvements made it even more remarkable! Not to mention the day to day health improvements I experienced during those four months; less allergy symptoms and the fact that prior to treatment I was sick with a cold three weeks of every month, on average, and after beginning treatment I had a cold symptom approximately twice, each time lasting no more than 1-2 days! Do not go waste your valuable time and money going to this awful place. There are many many other chiropractors in the area, and any one of them would be a step up from this guy. The office itself is dirty and there were patients' x-rays scattered all over the floor in the room where I waited, and in the x-ray room itself (can you say HIPPA violation?). Patrick Bennett ran around the office like a chicken with it's head cut off, never looked me in the eye, and never apologized for keeping me waiting over 90 minutes. He had so many people crammed into the office, and I know I'm not the only one who won't come back. But that doesn't seem to matter to him because he's already got the money, which seems to be what he is all about. When he came into the exam room I told him I had to leave (I had waited 70 minutes by now) but he insisted that he could "do this quickly" . He then proceeded to throw my head from side to side, slap an ice pack on my back and run out the door. I was told by the girl at the front that I had been charged for two sessions, and that I had to come back a few days later. When I called later to say I wouldn't be coming back, he was incredibly rude and refused to refund my advance payment. After that horrible experience I found a great chiropractor nearby (there are several excellent chiro's in the vicinity). One of the patients I met in the waiting room one day told me of her almost identical experience with Optimal Health Chiropractic. I wasn't at all surprised. read more

I rarely leave reviews but once in a while I have an experience that I feel compelled to share. I came to see Dr. Bennett after experiencing acute intermittent back pain for a couple of years. It took a minute, but I finally realized - I needed help. I first noticed that the environment is very relaxed and has a certain kind of coziness to it - no sterile white walls or saccharin music playing in the background. Being greeted by Jenny at the front desk and hearing the great music while I completed my paperwork was a great introduction. And when Dr. Bennett came in to talk with me, it all made sense. Easy-going and truly knowledgeable but not at all pretentious. In fact, he's actually down to earth and honest. But what really matters is whether he's any good. I've had 2 visits with him (just 2), and I've already experienced truly significant, meaningful, positive change. It takes a lot these days for me to want to write a review - A LOT. But the pain in my back has already diminished quite a bit and the information that he imparted helped to explain so much - not just about my back pain but how spinal health really does effect everything (my words - not his). I just wrote a glowing review for Dr. Brandey because of the help she provided me. I wanted to do the same for the clinic itself and Dr. Patrick. I was shocked to see several negative reviews! I'm a skeptic by nature and when I 1st met Dr. Patrick I thought that all the hollistic mumbo jumbo he was preaching was kind of out there in deep space and naturally I was not sure I was in the right place... BUT, the work he did on me and the results that followed are irrefutable. My lower back pain went away. The sciatic pain I was feeling in my right leg also disappeared within a matter of weeks. I have been suffering from neck and head pain for the past couple of months and after getting an MRI, physical therapy, muscle relaxers etc. I finally had had enough and showed up unannounced this morning to see if Dr. Patrick could help me again. He unfortunately was out on vacation, but Dr. Brandey squeezed me in. The office was just as busy as the negative reviews have mentioned. I did not have to wait long and when Dr. Brandey was able to examine me, I in no way felt rushed by her despite the fact that I knew she had many other patients waiting. The shear volume of patients that the clinic sees should tell you that both Dr. Brandey and Dr. Patrick are very good at what they do! I am an impatient person but I would gladly wait in their office as long as need be, because I know when I do get seen I will be given top notch care and I know I will see results. The $60 per adjustment, while steep, is well worth the money given the fact that I had already thrown a couple of K in the garbage to pay for all the useless tests, therapy and drugs that provided little to no relief whatsoever. read more

I cannot begin to describe how cheated and manipulated I felt by Dr. Patrick and his staff. The short version of it all is: I asked if they could fix a specific injury... they lied and told me they could when they couldn't. I told them I was having serious money problems... and they ultimately screwed me out of $159!! Dr. Patrick and his staff are liars who clearly only care about getting money out of people. IMPORTANT: (If they tell you the first consultation is free... they are lying... it ends up being $99!!!) Now the very long version: I had fallen and badly hurt my ankle a few months back. It had been a simple fall and it was clear I hadn't broken anything.... so I didn't think anything of it at the time. But months later my ankle was randomly very painful and I would find myself limping... which would also complicate a pre-existing knee injury. So, I told a friend about how I was limping and in pain etc... and she recommended Dr. Patrick. She said that she had seen him to help with some past sport injuries... and that maybe all my ankle and knee really needed was a good readjustment. So, I called Dr. Patrick's office... and told the receptionist that I knew nothing about chiropractors and I had never been to one before... and I explained my ankle and said that all I really need to know is if they would be able to help me with that. She said they could and that the first consultation is free... which was great because I also explained to her that I was currently unemployed and money was beyond tight. I also told her my health insurance information and she told me that they accept Blue Cross etc. and that shouldn't be a real issue either. As luck would have it... I was in a car accident with my sister the day of my first appointment with Dr. Patrick. So, when I came into the office that day... I was admittedly a little out of it. The first consultation consisted of me watching a really shitty video from the 60's about what chiropractics is. That, I later found out, was all that was included in the "free" part of the consultation. Then I met with the doctor... who I repeatedly asked about my ankle and if he could help fix it now because although I do have horrible posture and other things I'm sure he could fix... my ankle is a much more pressing matter. He assured me he could fix it... and then told me I needed to take some xrays so we can see whats going on with my spine. I went along with this... which was really stupid... but in my defense I was a bit out of it. After the x-rays were taken he told me the consultation and x-rays will be $99. I explained to him that I was confused by what was free and what wasn't... and I told him that I was seriously struggling with money... he reassured me that since I have Blue Cross... I should get back the $99 or it would at least go towards my deductible etc. Like an idiot... I believed him. Then I was told to come back for my first real appointment and adjustment... so like the confused schmuck I am... I set up a second visit. The second visit... Dr. Patrick informed me that my insurance doesn't cover anything. He then went over my x-rays... and told me I need serious adjusting because of my bad posture. I kept telling him... I agree and that may be something to look into in the future... but for right now I need him to fix my ankle! I was limping! He kept reassuring me he could fix my ankle... but then went back to talking about adjusting my neck etc. He laid out a plan that consisted of me coming to see him every week and paying hundreds and hundreds of dollars. I explained to him again that I was broke... and he told me I should use the car accident I was in to get the insurance companies to pay for my adjustments. I was so confused. It felt wrong to lie about injuries that didn't exist to swindle insurance companies. He even gave me the name of a lawyer to call to fight my case. It was ridiculous! Then I had my first and only actual adjustment.... which I was told would cost me $60. The adjustment itself was interesting... but IN NO WAY HELPFUL to my ankle or knee. He told me since I was going to pursue the car accident case... I didn't need to pay the $60 for the adjustment right then... I could wait until the case got money out of the insurance people etc. So, I left. The more and more I actually thought about things... I felt more and more stupid. I was swindled. First, out of the $99 and now I was being coaxed into a bullshit insurance claim. I felt so dumb and hurt by how heartless and fucked up Dr. Patrick was. I decided to just write him a check for the $60 so I don't owe him anything!! It was a truly awful experience! I told them all i needed was to fix my ankle... they lied and told me they could. I told them I was having serious money problems... and they screwed me out of $159!! Dr. Patrick and his staff are liars who clearly only care about getting money out of people. read more

The best chiropractor there is out there. I have been a model for 9 years. I have been all over the world and tried so many different chiropractors but Dr. Patrick is by far the best and most efficient one out there. He pin points the spot with the first try and relieves the pain instantly. He is the ONLY chiropractor that can adjust the jaw properly and that is sooo rare to find!!! As a certified Pilates instructor, I know the importance of taking care of my spine. I have been to several Chiropractors over the years and have tried all sorts of techniques such as Rolfing, ART, and Alphabiotics, just to name a few. Yoga and Pilates have been a constant in my life for the last 10 years and help to keep the me free from pain to a certain extent. I was really impressed with Dr. Bennet's approach, very positive and sensitive to the mind/body connection, so I decided to set up an examination for myself. Here's the best part: I have never felt so much relief from an adjustment in my life. Dr. Bennett is one of the best doctors I have ever seen. He encourages holistic care and gives you the necessary tools to get your health back on track without unnecessary medications. I love the home remedies and supplements to help keep me going. I never realized how much chiropractic care would help me, but he has been amazing. He is patient and fully explains the stressors our bodies face on a daily basis and how they affect our bodies. I have had asthma from birth and he has helped me better manage my symptoms and helped me get to the bottom of what was causing my flare ups along with other back issues. I was hesitant with him adjusting my neck because I have heard numerous horror stories of bad chiropractic adjustments, but he was able to walk me through the entire process and adjustment to get me to a level of trust in order for me to receive the best care possible. Dr. Bennett and Dr. Brandey are wonderful! I have only been coming here for a month and I already am feeling much better. I came in with my Aunt for her adjustment and saw the relaxing and beautiful office. The adjustment was quick and the staff were all very friendly. My Aunt had been telling me for a while how much Dr. Bennett had helped improve her overall health including her asthma. I have had asthma my whole life and had tried almost everything. Plus, I was tired of taking so many medications. I chose to get a consultation myself and was not disappointed. MY FAMILY AND I LOVE OPTIMAL HEALTH CHIROPRACTIC!! A lot of things have changed at Optimal Health Chiropractic since I first started visiting in late 2010. The office had a major remodel, and installed several state of the art patient care stations. I have a feeling that the few bad reviews below were from people who could not afford chiropractic care due to insurance, don't understand the role of chiropractic in health care, or they seemed to catch the office during their transitions and office upgrades. Optimal Health Chiropractic has cared for me and my family for over 2 years now and we all enjoy going to the office for our adjustments. As I get older I find my body does not seem to hold up as well as it used to, and having regular visits to Dr Patrick (and in the past Dr Brandey) helps me, and my family, tremendously. From helping me get rid of low back pain, to reminding me not to slouch at my computer, to helping my neck that seems to get kinked when my 2yr old sleeps across my pillow, they are always professional and friendly. We love the family atmosphere and recommend their services to everyone we know. My wife is a pediatrician and she has great insurance. Dr Patrick will be helping her with all the body changes that come throughout her second pregnancy. He has a special table that is designed for people with a baby in their belly or who need to have a little extra room down there. Dr. Patrick even made my 2 year old daughter comfortable with the transition from seeing Dr Brandey to seeing him easy and smooth. Dr Patrick cares deeply for all of his patients and strikes me as the type of businessman that knows the value of his services and knows the value of his patients. I am certain that if you have a complaint he will do his best to accommodate your needs if your needs are reasonable. He has a very busy practice, which only proves how well revered he is in the community and how good he is at what he does. Even though he is so busy he still takes the time to do his adjustments thoroughly and completely for each patient. He cares about your health and puts together programs of care and even hosts classes and summertime movies at his office. As for his "holistic" side??? It works to create a healthy life balance and it also produces a calming effect to his office. I enjoy hearing his opinions and share in many of his beliefs. I'm very grateful to have stumbled upon Dr. Bennet. About six months ago, I woke up one morning unable to turn my head to the left (at all), which I at first assumed was a soreness from sleeping awkwardly... but for weeks, the pain never went away. I went in for a consultation with Dr. Bennett--he didn't want to touch my neck or back until he had X-rays, which I appreciate--and within a few sessions, the pain was completely gone. Dr. Bennett is an incredibly personable (and funny!) family man who wants his patients to understand what it is he's doing. I ask him questions all the time, and he's always happy to answer. On my initial X-ray, he showed me that my neck juts straight forward and doesn't have the curve it should. He told me that this is from years of poor posture and sleeping the wrong way, but that I'm young enough (I'm 30) that it could be reversed within a few months if I got adjusted a few times a week. Sure enough, my most recent X-ray is unrecognizable! The curve is back, I'm walking taller and feeling generally healthier. The office itself (converted from an old house) always feels warm and inviting, never sterile or clinical, while remaining clean and well-kept. It is also set up to accommodate people in a hurry (*after* your initial consultation), so I'm almost always in-and-out within 10 minutes. It's an impressively efficient system. They are also AMAZINGLY flexible in terms of scheduling. Most days, I can call 15 minutes beforehand, and Monique (his charming receptionist) will say, "Of course, come on in!". One thing to note: Dr. Bennet has a very holistic philosophy of health, nutrition, and medicine--hence the name "Optimal Health"--which I understand is not everyone's thing (It's not mine, particularly). But this in no way compromises his technical skills as a chiropractor, and he isn't pushy or preachy; he only wants you to know that he's done his homework and that his opinions are informed.
