Horrible! They have canceled my install three times already, always because I supposedly have a balance. When I call, they agree that I don't have a balance! No one seems to be able to fix the situation. Billing says it is technical support and technical says it is billing. Absolutely mind blowing! There does not seem to be any local phone number that you can use to call the local store (which I can't get to and which does not even open until 10:00 AM when I am at work). My bill has increased 2 times in the last 3 months. Also started charging me a rental fee on previously discounted box. You never know from month to month what your next bill will be. I f-ing hate them bit there is no alternative. read more

I wish I could give a zero rating. There was over $700 taken from my bank acct. I called and only $277 was returned. My acct is only supposed to be $127.89 a month. My bill for March is showing $300+, they need to get things straight. read more

After years and years of difficulties and no help from anyone with Optimum, I had started to lose hope. Finally, I got in touch with technical support who was able to schedule me an appointment for an in person visit. Optimum sent a man named Doug to my house. Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable and professional, he found the problem that nobody else had been able to find for the past 3 years. If you're about to give up on optimum, I don't blame you - but try your best to get an in person experience because honest, hard working, professional people still exist within this company. This one star is only because you have to give them one. The are awful to talk to awful to work with. You go to the store they say one thing and you call they say another. They lie. Absolutely terrible costumer service. I do not have service it never started and they want me to pay a bill for something that was never turned on. Their people that come to your house are inept at their jobs. You cant speak to a American who can speak English that even understands the concept of i don't have service it wasn't hooked up I don't have equipment. Im not the one. read more

I've had optimum for 4 to 5 months paid my bill before time every month and out of nowhere they cut it off I went to office they told me it was an accident but I lost my promotions HBO Max and a gift card and then they tried to charge me 100 for a technician when I went and got and hooked it up myself read more

Local outlet can only sell services but can't help with billing/questions. Called toll free number to be told system is updating and I would have to call back in two hours. They have arbitrarily raised monthly service by $25 and as a customer we don't have many options for internet/cable. We r being held captive by a business who couldn't care less about their customers. They have already been in front of our Attorney General's office. We must continue to post negative comments until they get better. read more

Optimum Customers. I called the number on my bill to fix my internet. Back story. (Ive been a customer since 2015. My internet and phone would cut off about 10 times in an hour. My internet speed was slower than what I was paying for, and my bill kept going up and up each month.) While on the phone, I had my account online open and watching. While talking to the guy on the other end of the line, I thought was Optimum, we talked everything over, agreed on terms. He told me if I paid my balance of $100 then, everything would be cleared and taken care of. I seen the changes on my account while still on the phone with him. I thought everything was taken care of after that. Almost 2 weeks later, and a guy coming to my house to fix the lines, I got 3 calls in a row saying they were calling me back for services that I called about that day. Then I got 4 saying my account is being shut off at the end of the month. 5 different numbers. I called and they had bounce back fees where my checks and other payments were canceled. I go to my local store to figure out what's going on.?. He showed me where the payments were put in on that first day, but were declined. I argued with him that I paid it over the phone. To their number that I got off their bill. He told me that their number had been spoofed and I was talking to a hacker the whole time. He gave me a smug look, said sorry. cant help you. You still owe. I showed him that those payments that bounced were paid by check and another account that I have never used before paying them. That showed them that something was done. I go to my bank, show them where I got hacked, $150, got a new card. I would have changed companies years ago if they offered anything else here. But I think Optimum should do something. They say secure and reliable service. But they get hacked and I have to pay for it? read more

Just got off the phone for the last time, after multiple attempts to get our internet service fixed. Broadband cable, & supposedly fiber optic internet service, has been intermittent, inadequate (in regard to speeds). And can only get service technicians to come out and simply replace the modem. I pay for 1 Gigabite internet service, & have only ever received 758Mbps TOPS. Now, I just got off the phone, after multiple attempts with customer service, to get this issue lined out, AND compensated for the 9+ month's of having these issues. My monthly bill? Just for Internet & VOIP (Digital home phone service) is roughly $150.00 p/month. After finally getting a technician to my house, to once again only replace the equipment? The only compensation they could offer was a $78.00 credit towards my bill..... That is an absolute insult. Suddenlink is currently owned by Altice, they change hands of ownership approximately every 2 yrs. AND they have had, & currently have pending lawsuits against them. And not only that, they are currently being fined 2.42 Million by the Public Service Commission. This company is not to be trusted, and will rip you off at every chance that they possibly get. read more

We, along with our neighbors, have gone 71 days in a row with limited internet and television service. Optimum has been contacted over 100 times, collectively, over the issues, yet we are given random excuses and zero assistance. read more
