So sad that Suddenlink is the only option our area has. Unless you chose a dish. They do not care about customers. We have always had problems. But it's just something you have to deal with. Recently I had to help a neighbor who is closer to 90 in age. They have the computer, phone and cable package. During this time. All of that went out. They did not send a technician for almost a week saying it was the 1st available time. That is sad. Made me so nervous for them to be without a phone in case of an emergency. Unprofessional employees on a terrible service Internet service was highly unreliable for the year I had it. In that time I had two pricing hikes. When I did have enough of it I called their customer service to cancel. They sent me to a "manager" for disconnection. This person was extremely rude and attempted to tell me he wouldn't disconnect. They have the worst and I mean worst customer service representatives. I was transferred to several agents trying to cancel my services. Nobody seemed to want to help or avoided the entire thing. The call "conveniently dropped" in mid process so I had to wait again for another agent. Finally the last agent I spoke with finally said my account was canceled. I should not have believed them. I just received another bill from sudden link. I did the online chat and the person told me cancellation process was not put through and now I have to call again!!!!!! If I could leave zero stars I would. Never in my life have I had such a horrible provider for anything! Let me count the ways: 1. My internet went down so many times in 1 day I had to download an application to keep track of internet unavailability. Every day it was double digits, but when it hit 94 times in one day I had enough. I had to call every day and start with a new person because people said they were taking notes and they did not. Finally after two months of calling, my neighborhood had the underground cables replaced. 2. I believe there are no managers in customer service. Every. Single. Time when I would call, I had to start over with the same issue. THEN then say a manager will call....HA HA HA, the joke is on the customer, no manager EVER called. 3. No remorse for the days/weeks my TV would go out or I didn't have internet. They could care less. The customer means nothing. 4. No contract to sign telling you what their policies are. Imagine the day I finally could go to another provider and I cancelled the 1st part of the month. I was told the policy is you pay for the full month. I asked to please send me a document where I agreed to this....of course, you guessed it, I never received one. THEN, I disputed the amount with my bank in which SUDDENLINK AGREED WITH THE DISPUTE, then they turned around and re-billed me the next month. THEN, I called several times and even offered to pay for half of the bill and was told "that is not our policy". THEY TURNED IT OVER TO A COLLECTION AGENCY. At this time, you now know they will mess up your credit rating, that is their goal because they are never wrong. But the best part, they play phone tag. When you try to find a corporate office to call and complain, you will get Suddenlink Customer Service. When you look up the Corporate Office in St. Louis, it says closed permanently, BUT there is a phone number and you call and you get OPTIMUM with the SAME Customer Service prompts its quite the vicious circle. What a great gig for a business plan...Don't let your customer talk to anyone knowledgeable, make them go through the lower level customer service personnel over and over and over and over. Worst company ever!!!! Prices climb everyday and they don't care about their customers

I almost never provide reviews of organizations and services but I'm sorry to say I'm going to have to chime in here. I recently detected that my connection speed was significantly less than what I'm paying for. I arranged for a technician to come out and check it and by the time he arrived the speed was back up to par. I later decided to go ahead and get a Wi-Fi booster which solved problems with respect to computers that were a little more distant from the modem in my residence. The technician had to do absolutely nothing but check the connection speed coming into the modem. He did decide to replace a piece of coax, but that was unnecessary. Without warning, I recently noticed that my bill was significantly higher than normal while paying it today. I soon realized that a $60 service charge was applied to my account. At the very least when I arranged for the service request I should have been notified not only by the contact person but by the technician himself that such a fee would be applied. Before Altice took over, service techs would come out and check such issues for free....at least that is my experience. read more

Suddenlink is garbage, I wish they would go out of business. Their service sucks and their customer service is even worse. Whoever answers a call sounds like they couldn't care less and they never have the answer to your inquiries and you'll be stuck on the phone for hours. They were supposed to come upgrade my service from 1-5pm. However they never came and they never called or emailed after 5 and kept me waiting. I called and after talking to an unhelpful customer service employee, I found out they apparently moved me to 8-10 PM at night without telling me. The technician called and stated he would be here at 10:30 PM. He never showed up I texted him and he said "They took you off my route. I'm not sure if someone will be there tonight. But they will most likely be there tomorrow due to the time" If they try and charge me for the appointment they can pester another customer. If anything they should compensate me for the inconvenience caused. I took time off of work to wait for the service from 1-5pm. I have had bad cable service before and this is by far the worst. I used to have directv but I now live in an apartment and can't have directv because I'm not facing the southern sky. While having a dish of course I had issues with weather interfering with my signal. But now I have a hard line cable system with suddenlink and I have horrible reception. It goes in and out all the time at random. I only paid a little bit more for directv and had all the channels imaginable. Now I have a touch above basic cable and it's not worth the price I pay a month. Even the guy who put my service in doesn't use suddenlink. He put in my service clamoring on about how he has NFL Network and has all the games on during Sunday. I was envious of him while he was installing my sub-par cable. So I am a new customer in Charleston, WV. My install occurred on August 19, 2020. Installer's name was Matt. He left without finishing the cable install. Phone and internet work but not cable. Said he had to do an outside job on Ravenna Road that would take about an hour and would be back. Never came and never called. We tried calling him and wouldn't answer phone. Set up for another tech to come on Saturday, August 22, 2020, from 11 to 2. He/She was a no show. Phone techs couldn't fix. Set up 3rd appointment for August 24, 2020, from 2 to 5. Again, tech never showed. Still no cable. Tried to cancel cable just now and retention department wouldnt do it. Said they would have one of their "fabulous" phone techs fix the problem. Been on hold 90 minutes to no avail. Suddenlink is TERRIBLE. Whatever you do don't get Suddenlink. read more

Moved to Tyler from Dallas and Suddenlink seems to be our only choice for internet. I suppose, since they know that, everything about it is terrible. My husband and I work from home and the internet drops at least once a day. Connection also seems to drop every night around 9pm when we are trying to watch tv. It's hard to get work done when you have to constantly reboot your router. We definitely need some competition in Tyler to make companies step up and provide quality service. read more

I have been with Suddenlink in the past. When I was there they were awesome which is why I returned. Since returning the customer service has been horrible. When I first returned I went three months without House phone because they could not figure out how to get it working. I had to end up turning the house phone off. I was also promised a $200 Visa Gift card if I switched to them. I never received the gift card. I was later told because i upgraded to Tivo that knocked me out for my promotion. This last time I had a technician come out they charged me $60 for a service technician. I clearly asked if I would be charged and the technician told me that i wouldn't. Now in the middle of a pandemic, where my child is being schooled at home, they are telling me that they are going to interrupt my service if I don't pay the entire bill for $220. The supervisor Nourana was very nasty to mean. If it wouldn't cost me more than $60 I would get a lawyer. If I could rate less than 1 star I would. I am forced to do business with this company at two properties. Customer service and internet service is so poor I'm thinking about starting my own ISP! Every interaction that I have had from ordering and installation, to outages and customer service dealings have been so unacceptable I can not believe they are still in business. My daughter used them when she was here in college and always complained. Now that I am here, the installation and support was horrible in Troup but the service is good. Everyone else complains about outages there. In town, we had problems with installation in an existing home that had their service before. We've had outages the first week and the customer service experience was so poor that I asked them to save the chat for training purposes. Omg, I still don't have service and they can't get anyone out for 6 days. I escalated it to a supervisor and was told that I would get a call in 4-6 hours at 3:30 in the afternoon. I have been a customer of Suddenlink and Cox before that for well over 25 years. I, in all that time, I have had some really good experiences (especially over 15 years ago). Supposedly we are VIP customers. LOL, we aren't really valued. That's how I've felt today. After no telephone service for about 2 weeks, I got $5 taken off my bill. Because I bundle, I only pay $10 a month. I feel Suddenlink seems to forget that we customers are not all stupid. I was so angry that I almost lost. I was asked to please to not speak UGLY (my word, not theirs). The woman spoke over me constantly, basically ignoring what I was trying to convey. I ADMIT I WAS VERY RUDE AND UGLY. More on that further down. I had a bad modem, (with no telephone service) the first time a service tech came to my house. It was replaced. No problem. After several hours, was going to use my telephone. NO service. Several days before could coordinate my schedule to be home. Modem tested and was said to have dial tone. Must be my telephone, so off to the store I go with sickly adult special needs child in tow. Buy new telephone. Go home. Still no dial tone. Call suddenlink again for technician to make service call. Another couple of days of no phone service. Get another new modem. Service at last. Then the cable box goes out about a week later in the afternoon. Call phone center, told that I would have to wait 24 hours for another service technician to be able to come check it out. I asked if I would be able to return the box to the store if it wasn't hard to hook up myself, I would. Okay, I can, so off I go with adult special needs child in tow in the pouring rain. After getting soaking wet, went in store and got new box. Come home, didn't work. Call to schedule another visit from service tech. 24 hours of tantrums, crying, and throwing things, he gets it back on and HAPPY child and thankful me. Again, no dial tone less than a week later. HERE we go again. SAME SONG, SECOND VERSE, no wait, how many verses. Called call center; they did their thing. it didn't work. Schedule a service tech again for two days later. At this time, I WAS getting very frustrated. That nice icy Wednesday, he showed up, He moved the phone jack into another hole. BINGO, it worked. BUT before he got here, the #%^$ cable box quit getting all but the first five channels. Not even the local channels. The problem was ON their end again. He called the phone tech and was on hold for about 20 minutes. They reset the box and gave the channels that I was supposed to get were magically there. I absolutely hate their automated system. Doesn't give you the option of speaking to customer system. By the time that automated piece of crap gets you to an person, you are very frustrated. LOOK, I know that they have a system (of sorts) that tells them what the answer is to your question. If you don't ask a question, that is on their cheat sheet, Customer service people ARE LOST. They can't answer your question. In my experience I agree that the customer service people in the store are rather rude. Always have been but there have been good experiences there, too. In all years, I've been a customer, I've never been so insulted. Like I said earlier, I haven't really had BAD service with their people. Customer service, in-house service technology, and those service men have always been pleasant, and nice. Right now, if I was asked, I wouldn't recommend SUDDENLINK to anyone. Tried to upgrade our internet service and ended up getting disconnected from our internet for going on two days. When you call to check up on the issue you have to start completely over because they have NO systems to follow up with customers. End up getting shuffled around between departments. On the phone today for 5 hours, multiple dropped calls, no call backs and still no resolution. Been told I can't even cancel the account to start a new one because of some technical issue on their end. I wish there were other options in this area because no department at this company knows what the other is doing and they have TERRIBLE customer service. My 92 mother accidentally (gets confused with remote) ordered 9 video on demand shows ...mostly fighting. She is on direct pay and when I came to her home and saw the statement I called them and they refused to credit, even though she obviously made the connection in error and did not watch over a period of 5 months. To steal money from a 92 year old woman with only one check (SS) is unconscionable.
