After waiting months to get approval for my disabled son, they answered our request so we went &…read morelooked. Access was to provide transportation to & from our home which was about 25 minutes away. I told the driver he was legally blind & needs help exiting & entering & this was his first time. Jesse wears headphones & chats to himself. I thought it would be fine. He came home the first day with a bloody tooth & he looked stunned plus had a hard time swallowing. I thought maybe he bumped his head or was not secure in his seat. I let them know & our service coordinator immediately. The driver said he just left & the school said he was fine. He wanted to go the next day cause he wants to get out of the house & I told the driver he was hurt. He said he had a bad day on Monday so he knew what happened. I let PH know if he sleeps to let me know. They did so I went & got him. He was lethargic & was hard to wake so I had to stress dose his meds & kept him home Wednesday. Thursday I drove him there & back & he was happy. We decided he would sit in his wheelchair in the back so he would be secure & away from others. Friday, yesterday the driver came & loaded in him back. He seemed bothered. I was waiting for him at 1p but at 1:15p, he was not here so I called & asked when they left. Anyway I see a van turning where we live about 1:30p but it never came. I want & looked & I could see some commotion but then thought it was a delivery guy. 5 minutes later they come & Jesse is distressed again. There was a guy sitting close to him when there was plenty of other seats. The driver told me he was hitting Jesse but Jesse hit him too. He had to pull over & stop the guy so I would not see it. I think this guy purposely went by Jesse to aggravate him so he could beat him. It looks like he was hit hard more than once with a seat belt buckle & his gums had a pink area too. I bet he beat him on the head Monday. I am bringing my son in the home & I hear the driver tell the guy to sit by him in front. Why was he by Jesse & not up front. The driver knew something. I almost feel like he purposely let him hurt Jesse. Not even sure if this guy goes there or not but I will be filing charges against the driver when I get his information. There definitely needs to be an investigation. You can't let bullies beat the vulnerable. Maybe he didn't want to be driving Jesse so this was his way to not be his driver. Don't send your child if they are vulnerable like mine is.

I've been coming to the Goodyear Recreation Center for about a year now, and it has truly become a…read morelifestyle for me. What started as buying a simple day pass, just trying to get active again after a few years, turned into something that completely changed my routine and mindset. I have to give a special shoutout to Obie. She is honestly the reason I keep my membership active. Her classes truly challenge you, but in the best way. They push you, encourage you, and somehow make you appreciate yourself and all the hard work you've put in. Obie is genuinely such a huge motivation. Her well-being, her demeanor, the way she carries herself, and the way she teaches really inspire you to be better. She's a true inspiration. After my very first class with her, I walked straight to the front desk and signed up for a membership. Every class feels like you're transforming your life for the better. She reminds you that your best is truly enough, no matter what, and that mindset has stayed with me beyond the gym. And the community that comes with it is just as special. I'm naturally a little shy, but the ladies here have truly helped me come out of my shell. Now I find myself wishing everyone a good morning when I walk in, even if I don't know them. They're always the first to offer advice or helpful tips when you're trying a new class, and they're just so kind and encouraging. I'm so grateful I found this place. I absolutely love it.

VIsited with my family and he judged and pressed us about "what are you even gonna do here?" Instead of letting us pay and pass to a PUBLIC center. Like... I'm a goodyear resident and I'm not allowed to pass unless I prove that I'll make worth my while?? I have also heard several stories from the employees about him, and he sounds like a real piece of stool. Apparently, he follows and talks to teenage girls while ignoring the other clients and treating them rudely. Sounds like the police should check his laptop... This man should be fired before he does anymore real damage to the local goodyear residents.

This apartment complex we found by driving by to go to the local Avondale Senior Center. We popped…read morein to visit and saw a young lady helping an elderly lady to her car and placing her bags in the seat for her. We had no idea this was the manager of the complex. We were shocked to see such caring and compassion coming from the property manager. As she greeted us and welcomed us back to her office, we started asking questions about the property and availability and she was very thorough and helpful. She explained the waitlist process and we were fine with that. The community is exceptionally maintained and operated by the property manager. We have visit quit a few properties after this property and we will be the first to say A good community for seniors is best ran when the company running the facility hires a perfect candidate like this manager. This is not an assisted living facility this is an independent living facility, so the residents here are very active and social. We would recommend this place to any one we know. We would recommend calling these facilities first and not just showing up, we realized after the fact how busy the manager was once we were there and the traffic of residents she deals with. The property is very well maintained and the facility has a home feeling. I love the spirit and compassion of the manager and would recommend this place to all my elderly friends and family.

Update # 2: I managed to attend the parade and one of the Scouts gave me the parade program booklet…read more@ the parade before the march, and I let Paula know about this on my e-mail reply to her, which she was happy about. So, all good now. So, I posted my 3 parade video samples here. Enjoy! "Never Forget, Forever Honor" 11-11 @ 11 AM Thank you for your service. view/download digital booklet: https://honoringamericasveterans.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Parade-Program-2023-FA.pdf Update: re: "executive director" Paula... Sorry I have to mention that when I contacted her about not receiving a paper receipt (that I requested during checkout- even my stating if possible, it's still unprofessional not to communicate), she ignored it until I had to remind her to reply with an update, and she stated she was not going to do that. I also had to remind her to ship me the parade booklet, which she ignored also and fessed that she's the only one handler of this organization and stated that the parade scouts will pass them out or to send her a SASE to ship me a leftover. I mentioned that she could have told me this earlier. I stated that I'm the only one too, and I'm contacting my card issuer to obtain a receipt. I concluded that I would not attend her parade. I knocked down a star. Sorry! I attended their Happy Hour event at the Orange Tree Golf Resort in Scottsdale on Nov 1 to watch this year's chosen Grand Marshal, 1980s supermodel Kim Alexis, speak about her career as well as to lend support to recognize our nation's local veterans. She lives in Scottsdale with her husband and was contacted by this organization due her stance as a local role model and positive outlook. She also did a photo op + signing afterwards. I brought my Glamour magazine (January 1983 issue ;) ) for her to sign! The organization did a good job with the setup and appetizers and showed up on time. And, they were were polite and professional with Kim. It was a fun-filled evening and I hope to watch the parade in uptown Phoenix on the 11th!i
