I have to say Sunrise Preschool in Goodyear is the best preschool. My Daughter attends Sunrise preschool on Dysart and Thomas she is so excited to go to school every morning that it makes each day so easy for me to go to work. One thing I must share is that when were were searching all over the area for a daycare for our daughter it was so stressful and time consuming I wanted to give up and just stay at home my husband and I ended up settling for a daycare down the street from Sunrise and thought we would try our daughter and see how she does well it wasn't even 2 days latter and I was in tears, i hadn't met my daughters teacher officially yet, when we walked in we were just stared at and point to walk down the hallway i was so distracted with the lack of customer service that I couldn't seem to understand why i was paying so much money to be treated like I was a criminal, after we picked up my daughter she came running to us crying, i asked the lady if she had been crying all day and she replied no i told her to stop, when we got into the car my daughter looked up at me and said mom please don't make me go back i don't want to sit on the carpet all day again. I couldn't help but to cry and then i was just plain angry. I cannot believe that we pay out goo hard earned money to places who force children to sit on a carpet all day and point there fingers to direct people where they want them to go I'm sorry but this is 2012 and we are not robots. I began calling around to the previous day cares we had visited and came across Sunrise preschools website i looked up the location and was able to read a Little background information about the school, staff and Director. I decided to call, the phone was answered by the Director Summer she was so pleasant on the phone and introduced herself to me right away I shared my horrible experience with her and asked her if i would be able to meet with her to take a tour. Summer was very calm and comforting she shared with me that she is a mom herself and nothing is more important to her than her children, that made me feel really good knowing the director is a mom as well and understand why i was upset wanted to schedule a tour with her but could only make it there within an hour, Summer rearranged her schedule just to meet with me, my husband and daughter within the hour. We arrived at Sunrise and I tell you it just keep getting better and better Summer was in the lobby waiting to greet myself, my husband and daughter she introduced me to the assistant and took us all around the school, we were able to meet several different teachers, the cook and see the entire playground I was very impressed you can tell that everyone has put a lot of work into the school and how proud she is of the school and all the kids there. every time we walked into a classroom a child o more would run up yelling ms. Summer ms. summer and give her a big hug , she would stop and hug each child. My husband and i were so impressed and felt so comfortable we decided to try a free day the following day. The following day was just as the first day the teachers were all happy said goo morning and greeted us, our daughter ended up having the best day ever we even received several email from the director of pictures of our daughter doing different activities through out the day, this meant so much to myself and my husband and we enrolled the next day. I cannot thank everyone at Sunrise enough for everything they do everyday for our daughter especially the directors and what they do Our daughter she has blossomed and so excited every morning when we arrive to run inside and tell Summer that she got out of her big seal all by herself its amazing to see her grow and I'm thankful for all the pictures and love the new web gallery every week I'm getting new updated pictures of my daughter while at school and every time i show her she has lots of funny stories to go with her pictures. Its been such a great experience, my daughter is going on almost 2 months at sunrise and cant wait to see what she will learn next. Hi Laura, Are you sure you have the right Sunrise Preschool Location? because my Son attends this Sunrise Preschool and has been attending since he was a 6 week old Infant and I can not tell you how extremely Happy my Husband and I are. Our Son has transitioned up from the Infant into the ones room and everyone there was so awesome about helping him through his transition period. Once my Son turned 2 years old he had a rough time transitioning as 2 in itself is a rough age for any child, The 2 year old teachers are so great they have helped my Son to slowly adjust by taking his hand, using a reward sticker chart to get him excited about walking in the classroom not crying like a big boy its been about 2 weeks and now he actually runs through the door to give his teacher a hug every morning. One of the great things i really like about Sunrise is how they truly make you feel apart of a family and all the children are valued and loved very much. I know they begin potty training in the toddler classrooms and I really like the fact that they do not pressure child or force the children to go on the potty or sit on the potty, they slowly introduce them to they potty every day every hour and before you know it the kids are sitting on the potty potting. its been 1 week since my Son began being introduced to the potty and he was so deathly afraid to sit on the potty or even go into the bathroom and now only 1 week latter he runs over to the bathroom door to line up to use the potty and he gets so excited when he gets a smiley face sticker next to his name on the Potty board and shows me everyday we have even implements a potty sticker chart at home. I have never seen any illness concerns or cleanliness concerns at this school I'm always stopping in at random times and days and I'm always seeing the teachers cleaning or the Director of the school her self in the classrooms helping the teachers clean or teach the classrooms. As all children get sick and can catch a cold, virus or pink eye from anywhere or any surface that could be touched even a shopping cart at walmart and as parents the last thing we want is to see our children not feeling well or Ill and a lot of the times the illness germs and could possibly being brought into the school from outside visitors like parents and children coming in to see the school, you can really catch anything like those anywhere. Whats important to me is at Sunrise they take all the per-cautious they can to help prevent the spread of any illnesses and do whatever they can to keep all the children there well and taken care of. ‼THIS IS MY SECOND TIME POSTING THIS HERE IT HAS BEEN RESTRICTED/REMOVED IN AN ATTEMPT TO SILENCE ME AGAIN‼ I worked here a little under a year and all I can say is stay away from here. Whether that be as a parent seeking childcare or someone looking for employment. During the time I worked at this establishment there was no positive change. Teachers were caught by other teachers locking kids in bathrooms, pulling kids hair, grabbing food out of kids mouths, practically slamming kids on their beds for nap time, not changing diapers in the 2 year olds class for hours on end daily, the list goes on. When any of these incidents were brought up to the director Tanya, she was very dismissive and all she had to say was "are you sure that's what happened". The teachers are constantly put at the max ratios they possibly can be at making it difficult for children to receive one on one care from their teachers. I worked in the toddlers class the majority of my time there. Our max ratio is 13 one year olds to 2 teachers. During these days Tanya or Kim were not willing to help us in any way. Any interaction with Tanya was negative. She walked in every morning with the most negative attitude without fail. She constantly slammed doors in me and my co teachers faces, addressed us with unwarranted attitude and ignored our calls and request for assistance of any kind. This horrible treatment was so bad that multiple parents had to ask us if we were okay and if everything was okay between us. She even ignored my non stop calls when a kid ran out the back door and was outside by himself for 10-15 minutes. The sad part is multiple kids have ran out the front doors of the building unnoticed by her and were just running in the parking lot freely. If you aren't willing to bend your morals to make her job easier you will without a doubt be met with the same treatment. These same concerns were brought to her attention and her higher up Michelle's attention for months on end and absolutely nothing was done about it. I want to finish off by saying thank you to the assistant director Mayah who genuinely did all she could in every scenario I spoke to her about. She is always very friendly to anyone who walks in those doors. She would step in the class when she saw we were struggling and actually knew how to work with each individual kid since she was always willing to be in a classroom no matter what her position was. I Recently enrolled my 2 kids at Sunrise in Goodyear Arizona, I have to say I was more than impressed. I had previously toured the facility with my Mom and couldent believe how clean, organised, and Happy teh entire school was. I was greeted by the Director herself, She was in the middled of paper work but set everything aside just to shake our hands meet us and take us around the school. I just coudlent believe how happy was not only did the Director take me to the classes where my two children would be she took us around the entire school and I was able to meet every teacher, Assistant Teacher and there cook. I had never felt so confortable. What really impressed me was how the Director knew every childs name in that entire building, every time we walking into a classroom teh Director would greet every child by there first name and through our entire tour she referred to my children by there names I just couldent believe how she involved my two Children in every classroom, this school has just blown my socks off, once we back to the front office we talked tution rates and with my financial situation at the time I thought I woudl try something alot cheeper closer to home. Well let me tell you I did I tried Tutor Time to try and save myself a little bit of money, My kids started on a Monday and on Wednesday I was at Sunrise Preschool Looking for the Director in Tears she greeted me with a huge smile and a hug, I was a big mess but she was so confortaing never saying anything negitive towards Tutor time at all but offering me that support and shoulder I truly needed, My Daughter cried for 6 hours straight after I picked her up from Tutor time saying the teacher was grabbing her by her arm and pulling her around the classroom I was just horrified. Sommer was just amazing she tried evry which way she could think of to help me and offered me a Scholarship that I would have to qualify for but she really went out of her to do whatever she could to help me through this emotional time. I filled out all the scholarship information and Sommer and sure enough I was approved and able to pull my kids out and bring them to Surnise. I felt the relief of tons of bricks being lifted my my shoulders and my kids are still attending and love everyday, my daughter does dance classes and can't wait to see Sommer every morning to show her what pretty bow she is wearing in her hair for the day. I cant thank Sunrise or Sommer enough for what your doing fo families you have changed my life and we will alwasy be sunrise parents. read more

I want to start off by saying I worked at sunrise for about a year and almost 8 months. While I did have some good experience working with the children in my room and my co teachers I had an overwhelming negative experience with the management staff. There appears to be a significant gap in effective leadership within the current management team, which has contributed to a lack of clear direction and accountability. Additionally, there have been instances where the behavior of certain staff members toward children raises serious concerns regarding professional conduct and child welfare standards. The staff turnover rate is exceptionally high within my time here, I have witnessed over 45 employees leave. This constant cycle of departures reflects a highly unstable work environment, which appears to stem from ongoing issues within the management structure.It's become clear that this pattern is not coincidental. I have observed a consistent pattern in the director's interactions that raises concerns regarding differential treatment. Specifically, the tone and language used when addressing employees and parents of certain complexions appears noticeably different often less respectful or more confrontational compared to interactions with others. These disparities suggest a potential issue with bias that warrants serious attention. A lot of the concerns at this center have been brought up to the district manager and it seems nothing has been dealt with. Since I started, I've seen the director go through four or five assistants. At a certain point, it becomes clear that not all of them can be the problem. There's a noticeable lack of teamwork, and sometimes personal issues between staff get in the way of properly caring for the kids. One example was when a gate was left open and a child ran through, which could've been really dangerous. When another staff member brought it up, instead of handling it as a team, it turned into a disagreement, showing how the lack of cooperation affects safety. I hope they can work through their issues for the safety of the children and improve leadership from the top down. Hi, I'm a current Parent at this Sunrise Preschool and am sorry to hear your disappointment I'm not sure if you were at the Goodyear school or confused about preschool, but every time myself, my husband, my mother or my mother in law have been in Sunrise were always welcomed with a warm welcome and big smiles from both the Director and Assistant. Both our Daughters have been attending this school since they were 2 and now are 4 and 5 years old. One of the many great features about this school that we love is the front door key pad and how no matter what someone is always in the front office monitoring who is coming and going. It makes my husband and I feel so comfortable knowing that whom ever is entering or exiting is being monitored so closely and that they are able to allow the right people into the school by pushing the enter button they have at there desk and keep anyone who shouldn't be there out of the building. When we first started at Sunrise our girls were so hard to get up each morning at get moving, until about there 3rd day we arrived at school and there was the Director, Ms. Sommer wait ting to say good morning to us and the girls, She told the Girls she had a special surprise for them. Our girls were so excited, because. Sommer had bought them special pinkalicous and purplealicous books she took the girls by the hand and sat with them and started to read to the girls, they had the biggest smile's on there faces it was the best drop off ever. Everyday since my Girls run to the door and race to see which one can give Ms. Sommer a hug first. Ms. Sommer always greets us every morning and every night. One day my husband was in a hurry and forgot our youngest shoes he remembered her socks but he forgot her shoes. When he arrived to Drop the girls off Ms. Sommer was there, she ha noticed my Husband was having a rough morning and asked him if she could help, My husband at that time noticed he had forgotten our daughters shoes, my husband was so upset at himself and didn't know what to do because he was running late for work, at that time Ms. Sommer walked over to him to help, She told my husband not to worry that she would go to walmart and grab a pair of shoes and them get them all settled into there classrooms so he could get to work. Both my Husband and I were so grateful for everything Ms. Sommer and everyone at Sunrise has done for our girls and our family they truly care about what they do and all the children. read more

Wow - I am surprised to see the negative comments! A friend came across this and told me I had to look. She knows how much I love this Sunrise! My kids have attended Sunrise since 2001, and I have always been happy with their care, and with my treatment as a parent, for that matter. I've always thought Terrilynn is a very warm and caring person, especially with the kids. Even when she's swamped with other parents, she at least waves and greets my kids when I walk in. She calls all of the kids by name - that's a lot of names to remember! Occasionally she will pull out old pictures of my kids from when they were really little and share them with me. To me, THAT shows that she really cares. Stephanie is Terrilynn's assistant, and she's been there a couple of years. Stephanie always smiles, and she's such a calming presence. When I pick up in the evenings, I'm frazzled, tired, and sometimes cranky. :) She greets me with a smile and a hello every time, and always stops what she's doing to say goodbye to my kids as we leave. A lot of the teachers have been there since my boys were really little. The school is clean, and the kids are busy with lots of activities. The teachers should be proud of what they do, even if we parents forget to thank them. Of course there are rough days. Nobody is perfect, and sometimes it's hard to put on that happy face and put everyone else's needs before your own, and Terrilynn and her team are no exception, but I really can't recall a time that I walked away feeling like this wasn't the best possible place for my kids to be while I am at work. I suppose we are more likely to post when we are unhappy. This inspires me to post some nice things about the businesses that actually make me happy! read more

I was there June 5th in the morning Goodyear location on Thomas/Dysart to drop something off for my grand daughter, as I was in the hallway I heard this disgusting human, don't even want to call her a woman, her name is Lucy, I am still investigating if that is her real name, there are employees that will cover up and protect ugly identities! She yelled at the kids that are 5 years old and under! She said F word, stormed out of the room and said I can't handle this!!! That is when I advised this waste of human she shouldn't work there, she is probably miserable with her life she takes it out on kids that she can overpower! Not today satan! I took my grandkids out of this facility, I've heard this is not the first time and nobody has done ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!! I hold everyone that was in that room accountable because if I were an employee and witnessed that, I would check that person so quick! And reported her, if nothing is done, I would take it to authorities! I am making a report about this! I did talk to district manager but I am not stopping there! I can't stand people whom mistreat these poor kids, that have no power against evil people like this monster and the other ones that were there! There was also another girl African American there, she looked like in her 20's that just did not care, Lucy laughed as I was telling her she needed to work from home and needs God or something in her life! I am a single dad and I have my daughter half of every month. The director and the staff have been fabulous working with me to make our crazy custody situation work for my daughter. Ella loves going to Sunrise and she feel completely comfortable at the school even though she does not attend every week. She also learns much more at Sunrise than she does at the babysitting situation that she has with my x. I am a high school teacher and I appreciate the planned and written curriculum that the teachers follow. The lesson plans are posted and followed and it shows. I also like getting a written report every day which really makes me feel comfortable about how her day went. I have read some bad reviews here which surprises me. I talk to the other parents in the morning and afternoon and I rarely heard any complaint and certainly nothing serious. One of these reviews is from a person who walked in the door and felt ignored. While that is not right, it does not compare to the hundreds of times that I have actually been in the school and been completely satisfied with the way that I have been treated nor does it compare to seeing the interaction of the teachers and my daughter. The real proof of the value of a school is how the service holds up over time and my experience has been great. I have been going to this preschool for over two years and I have never seen anything or heard anything that would make me concerned for my daughter. This is a good school and a good group of teachers. I highly recommend it. read more

First My Husband and I are so Happy we choose Sunrise. We toured Sunrise Preschool in Goodyear a few weeks ago along with other preschools. What stood out to us when we walked in was how the school smelled like muffins and how we were greeted by the Assistant Director and then Introduced to the Director who Smiled and invited us into her school proudly. The director took time to show us each classroom and introduced us to each Teacher throughout the school. My Son was so excited to see all the kids at the tables doing Art and got more excited when they were on the playground riding bikes. Not only did Each teacher smile and shake our hands they did the same with my son. After we were able to see everything in the school our Son got a little upset and didn't want to leave. He was screaming and yelling, I was impressed when the director kneeled down and begun talking to him quietly, She was able to calm him down and even sat on the floor next to him so he could color with her for a few minutes. This gester almost made me cry, My son kept looking up smiling and I knew we were in the right place. I absolutely recomend this Preschool to everyone I know and encourage anyone who is out searching or who may have concerns stop in and meet with the Director she is one of the few who care and work hard to make a diffrence. read more

December 17, 2013 I feel the need to applaud Sunrise Preschools!!!! My daughter, little Miss Nevaeh, just loves her school. For most of her life, when I was not with her, she was in the care of my mother, family or close friends. Most of her social situations were likewise with family and close friends. I was very worried that when she started school at Sunrise Preschool that she would be scared or shy because of that fact. It was the complete opposite. She has just Blossomed! She has learned colors, shapes, animals, places and much, much more and likewise is ready to tell everyone about it. She loves to read, even if she does not quite know how, but she does so anyway in her Very Beautiful Little Girl way. There is no way to put into words how much her new-found confidence and love of school means to me. We all know what it means to her because it shows in her precious little face as it lights up when she talks about the teachers and friends she has at school. We have joined the Sunrise approximately 4 months ago and couldn't be happier. We have tried two different preschool facilities in the Goodyear area and were EXTREMELY disappointed. Sunrise is by far the best! The teachers are so friendly and my kids actually enjoy going to school. They have a lot of fun activities for the kids, learning stations for the preschoolers and extracurricular activities offered as well. We are going to our first event the school has organized outside of school and the kids are super excited. Management is always visible and there to answer any question or concerns. I cannot say enough great things about this school. They are workable with the schedule. read more

Had the free trial week which was grea to offer after the second day I went to pick up my 2 year old and noticed a child in her class throwing up. Lone behold next morning my daughter was sicker then a dog. Not to mention they did not bother to potty train as was requested. Took her out a day she was over the violent vomiting the next day I bright her back she contracted pink eye. I will not take her back. If children are attending with Illnesses that are highly contagious they should be cared for in a sick room away from contaminating others. Bad bad first impression. I won't be back. I left the clothes, diapers, and even gave up the rest of the free week. read more

I personally LOVE Sunrise, my son has been going here for a little over a year and has thrived in more ways than I could describe. Everyone has been so welcoming, and accepting since day one! It's true what they say "it takes a village to raise a kid" and Sunrise is mine. Everyone knows everyone, every teacher and director knows my son's name and always wishes him well. I mostly importantly thank Ms Vanessa, she loves my son like he's her own, and as a mother that's all you could ask for. And Ms Mayah, he looks forward to telling her Good morning daily! The staff at Sunrise Preschool is dedicated to the education for our two boys. We have had them enrolled for over 3 years and they have only improved during this time. Our oldest boy is starting kindergarten this year and we have no doubt that he will be ahead of the game because of Sunrise. The curriculum at Sunrise has prepared him for the lessons he will be taught in the future and we are thankful that our youngest son will have the same opportunities because of Sunrise. read more

We started our then 3 year old at Sunrise and he was not talking much and I struggled to potty train him at home. After one week of being in Sunrise, he was talking all the time and potty trained! Now there is a new director and she is fantastic. She has gotten new toys and the really has the best interest for the children. I was a stay at home for the past three years and decided to go back to work in April. I enrolled my daughter at Sunrise and she loves it! They have different activities everyday and even a dance and gymnastics class. She also learns a new letter everyday and comes home singing the cutest songs! All of the staff are super friendly and know every child and parent by name. Definatley made my going back to work easier on me but especially my daughter! read more

My Daughter was having a terrible morning refusing to go to school, The Director Ms. Sommer was walking in at the same time, She stopped and bent down to talk to my daughter. she helped her to calm down and took her hand and walked with her up and down the hallway until my daughter felt better. I have been using Sunrise Preschool for my children's childcare for over a year. I can say that my children come home everyday with a story of how much fun they had and what kind of activity they've done that day. The teachers are amazing and always kind to my children.
