This involved restringing graduated hollow beads onto a chain and finishing the chain end with a jump ring to retain the beads. The original silversmith hadn't soldered the jump rings and one had simply worked its way off the chain. This shop had them repaired and improved within a couple of days, looking as good as new, patina and all...I was asked if we wanted them polished. My favorite watch: a trusted old L.L. Bean field watch, suddenly wouldn't run or would only run briefly. It had always kept perfect time and was a very tough watch...I'd had it and worn it daily for over ten years. Their watchmaker opened it up, discovered the problem immediately and explained that it would need a new movement...no options. I left the watch and payment to cover the new movement as requested. Repair took almost a month...waiting for the new movement, installing it and testing the repaired watch. What can you say about a watch...it now keeps perfect time again and appears to be as waterproof as it was before. I happily paid them the remaining balance and have my trusty old watch back, keeping time perfectly as before. In addition, the movement is an exact replacement...maybe another ten years? Total price was way below the cost of a replacement. Good shop, good service, expert workmanship on the repairs. As good as it gets In my opinion.

I'm guessing it's either lost, or they stole it and sold it to someone.

It holds the distinction of being the oldest jewelry store operating on Santa Fe's Historic Plaza. The offerings here are expensive, but in my opinion there's no guesswork on the authenticity and quality of what you're purchasing. Anytime I'm in town, I make it a point to come in and drool over the bolo tie designs, most of which I can't (or won't?) afford. Like anything else Southwest-wise, I find that it takes awhile to sort through the massive selections to find the precious few that I then obsess over.

I would like to start by saying a little Goodwill goes a long way and a little bit of friendliness makes a difference. Today I had the worst sales girl you can imagine in the store. She had no personality was not friendly was not warm. I feel bad that she had an eye condition, but she could not see she could not even read prices but overall, she was just not nice. In spite of all that because I do love the jewelry there. It is of a good quality and the prices are OK. I bought two pieces to be shipped to my home within the hour. I kind of changed my mind and went back in the pieces had not even left the store. They had not even left the cash register. They were still sitting there on top of a velvet tray. I was told no refunds and shown the store policy. That is not what I am complaining about. I understand there are policies what I am complaining about is the rudeness of the sales girl that I had. She literally turned her back on me and walked away. Did not say anything kind was not in the least bit understanding, and then rudely left mid conversation I will not have my back turned on by anyone after all these years of being a good customer I will never buy another piece of jewelry in that store. I do not recommend this store to anyone ever since my good sales girl Robin left. I miss her so much terrible terrible terrible personalities, and service.

My soon to be husband went to this shop on the recommendation of a friend for my engagement ring…read more He had no actual diamonds to show him so we went elsewhere. When I decided to change the wedding band to go with my halo ring we went to him again. He recommended a curved band with some smallish diamonds in it. I asked almost joking what am I going to do with my original band that had much smaller diamonds in it. He suggested he mount them to my engagement ring shank. I asked how will that look? He said "beautiful". Sad to say, it did not look beautiful. The diamonds were buried in the shank, the tool marks very visible and to make things worse, the mountings were not equally set as far as depth goes. I went to him to let him know how I felt and he offered to put larger diamonds in it. Said those little diamonds are really hard to do. My question: why did he sell me on the idea? James gave me a price to do bigger diamonds that he said was special. I checked around. It was not. So now I have the original wrecked wedding band, and an engagement ring that now looks somewhat homemade. I feel I gave James who seems like a nice guy, the opportunity to make it right. He did not. And he will not get that opportunity again with me. I had met with another custom jeweler here in Santa Fe (MH). We have planned a very thoughtful design with much time involved to remedy the issues and says that if I am not thrilled, he will remake the rings until I am thrilled. I did want a slight alteration and he was happy to do so.
