This place is unfair and doesn't feel for people who sick! If your sick it doesn't matter don't…read moremiss your appointment! Cause they will tell you not to come to their practice no more! I've missed 3 times in years and they told me not to show up ever again! I only missed once in a year! I was puking my guts out! I had the stomachs flu and they would rather me come sick then be honest and call them to reschedule! I was never disrespectful or negative to anyone in any way ever!! I thought these guys were the best!! But I'm sorry I was sick and I don't understand why the permanent ban?? I wish you guys the best either way!!

I walked into Genesis Dental last February (2024) with zero pain and zero discomfort, but Dr Teeple…read morechanged all that. I had a broken crown that needed replacing and while the front staff and assistants were all very helpful, Dr Teeple simply would not be satisfied until she had drilled away so much of the remaining root of my tooth that she exposed the nerve and caused me to then need a root canal that was absolutely unnecessary until I fell victim to her incompetence. She even drilled off a part of the tooth next to it and when I called her out on it she said that it had broken off on its own....as she was drilling. How very coincidental. The root canal took well over two hours and I was in such agony the entire time I was literally crying in the chair and had to ask her to stop several times. I am normally a great patient and have never experienced so much fear and pain at any other dentist. Dr Teeple set the new crown too far away from the next tooth so now there's a substantial gap that captures EVERYTHING I eat. Chewing is uncomfortable at best and I can't even chew gum without having to floss immediately afterward. I cannot chew on the side of my mouth that was damaged by Dr Teeple without extreme pain. Without exaggeration, I now floss upwards of a dozen times a day because there is nothing I can eat that doesn't get stuck in the "Teeple gap". So now, 11 months later, I still have extreme pain at the tooth she ruined and after seeing a different, competent dentist a couple months ago I discovered that Dr Teeple genuinely did such a poor job with the unnecessary root canal she forced me to have that there's been a steadily growing infection at the site and now I may lose that tooth!!!!! All because I trusted Dr Teeple and Genesis Dental. I contacted the owner/manager and got them to refund the amount they charged me for the unnecessary and botched root canal but since I have to live every day with this ruined tooth and pain I see no reason why I shouldn't share my experience so hopefully no one else unknowingly falls victim to Dr Teeple or Genesis Dental.

Dr DeMille may do good work but, the office staff and billing is HORRIBLE!…read more They do not honor their own quotes and charge a lot more if you try to use insurance. After paying off the balance, they will send additional bills in the mail adding extra fees which were never discussed or included in the original quotes they have their patients sign before starting any work. When dental insurance pays more than the estimate, they won't return the extra money they collected or even apply it to future work. Even taking in the insurance EOBs (showing the insurance paid hundreds more then their estimate), they keep the extra money. Also, if THEY cancel your appt within 48 hours before the appt time, THEY CHARGE THE PATIENT a cancellation fee. Very dishonest way to conduct business.

I strongly urge others to take the billing concerns shared by previous patients seriously (Google…read moreReviews). I initially trusted the positive reviews, which unfortunately led me to this dental office--an experience I regret. Despite having active Delta Dental coverage, I was charged $39 out-of-pocket for a regional block anesthesia because, according to the office, my insurance "denied it." After personally contacting Delta Dental, they confirmed the charge should not have been applied and even contacted the dental office on my behalf. This indicates a troubling pattern of unbundling services in a way that bypasses insurance coverage. Additionally, they will try to get you to use "better quality materials" that is not covered by insurance--something not clearly explained upfront unless you ask them and to remove it they add it on and only remove if you read the paper and ask them about it (e.g Nano-Hybrid Composite). When I questioned the charges, the office threatened to send the unpaid balance to collections, citing "Utah law" as the reason patients are responsible for all uncovered portions and said they could work a "payment plan" as to balm their charge as if they are helping you instead of correcting the error. This practice also uses high-end x-ray machines and frequently performs excessive imaging, which appears more designed to increase billing than improve patient care. These unnecessary x-rays result in inflated costs to the insurance. In total, I paid $209 out-of-pocket for a routine cleaning and the removal of a single wisdom tooth (that's with having Delta Dental insurance coverage )--despite Delta Dental confirming my total out-of-pocket cost for everything should have been only $170 (So, I basically paid $39 extra (reg. block anesthesia | something I should have not been charged for - unbundling). This discrepancy raises concerns about whether this is a case of unethical billing practices or a lack of proper understanding of insurance protocols. I lean more towards unethical billing practices because this Dental Office has done it to other folks as-well, I understand mistakes, but it's happened what seems like a lot to other folks as well based on the low-star reviews, now me included. Based on my experience with billing here--and similar reports from other patients--I recommend seeking care from a dental provider that prioritizes transparent billing, ethical practices, and patient trust.
