As a matter of fact I'll bet you've said "Man I'd rather have a root canal than do _____!" and meant it. I'm not only with you but I find most dentists to be my fears personified and rank a dental visit right up there with my worst nightmares. Now, that said, let me tell you about Dr. Goodman's office and why you want to go here. Dr. Goodman has a kind and caring staff that immediately make you comfortable. I don't just say that to say it; I really mean it. One of the things I respect about Dr. Goodman is his no-nonsense approach to dentistry. He will tell you what you need for your best dental health and not try to BS you. Earlier I mentioned a root canal in all of its negative connotations and wanted to say that my recent experience, while not pleasant since it was a root canal, wasn't a nightmare of pain and suffering either. As a matter of fact it was a fairly quick hour that included no pain and really was no more difficult than a typical filling. I've had dental problems all my life and have seen every type of dentist you can think of. The braggarts, the self-righteous, the ones who seem more like car salesman than doctor and the ones that are combination's of all the worst traits. Dr. Goodman is the real-thing and like the Dr. Pepper commercial discusses which is harder to believe: 1) Santa 2) A good tasting diet soda 3) A good Dentist you can trust to take care of you and not hurt you.. It's 3. I just can't tell you how happy you will be with your decision to trust Dr. Goodman as your dentist.

I called and the front desk staff was beyond helpful and pleasant. They were able to assess that I had an infection and gave me to instructions on how to take care of that. They also were able to squeeze me in to have my tooth pulled within the needed timeframe to provide relief as quickly as possible. Leading up to the procedure they called gave several reminders and ensured I was prepared for the big day. On the day of the surgery I arrived promptly and was greeted by the friendliest staff. I began to get nervous/overwhelmed and they helped me calm down to ensure I was comfortable while getting the procedure done. Dr. Naghibi entered the room and was so amazing. She ensured I felt minimal discomfort and literally coached me through getting my tooth pulled. I was so nervous to feel the tooth coming out and to my astonishment, I didn't feel a thing. She then gave me post op care and ensured I knew what to do in the coming days. Her surgical assistant was also amazing! I wish I remembered her name but she was so positive, informative, and also ensured I felt well taken care of! Amazing job, an extremely clean office, and I'll be back in the next few months to get an implant.

From the moment I made the appointment and spoke with Shannon on the phone, until the point, we walked out of the office today, everybody was amazing. The office is not huge, but they are clearly very popular and very busy! Despite that, everybody on the staff was friendly and accommodating, and we never felt rushed. When I made the appointment with Shannon, she was amazing. I am disabled and my mother's elderly, so she gave me a lot of information and assured me that she would make sure we were taken care of. She was not lying! She took great care of us. Dr. garden was very knowledgeable. He gave us a lot of insight and told us what we needed to do before he would be willing to schedule the extraction. He wanted to make sure that my mother was as prepared as possible and even told us that one of the medications she is taking Would be problematic so he told us to stop taking it for a period of time before he would be willing to schedule the procedure. The time that he spent explaining the process to us and the fact that he cared enough to say he wasn't comfortable doing the procedure until my mother took these steps in preparation, impressed me. My mother was very anxious about this whole process and he made her feel very comfortable. If you need oral surgery, I highly recommend this practice! I am in the process of having an implant done, first time with Greenbelt, but fifth time for me, so…read moreI am pretty familiar with the process. The docs here have been great, no issues at all with the care offered. The administrative support is a lot less competent, though. I get it that if the insurance screws up and can't get their pre-auth done timely that I will have to front the entire cost of the procedure. I paid cash to avoid a 4% surcharge to use a credit card. And when insurance screws up again and sends the reimbursement to this office instead of directly to me, I don't need the snippy attitude of the office staff. Your office ignored the finding that proper documentation had not been provided for one claim, yet you told me that it was not covered, when I am staring at the EOB saying that it was denied because more documentation is needed. So then you state that you cannot provide my refund because I am requesting that the required documentation be sent in for ths one line so I can be reimbursed for it, because the entire claim has to be reprocessed and you can't do the refund until it has all been settled. So then why didn't your office send in the documentation months ago when you were notified about it? You offered this explanation twice and then got snippy when I interrupted you on the third time through this ridiculous statement. You berated me for interrupting you, three or four times, when I don't have the time to listen to you prattle on with your long-winded excuses for not refunding my money. And then refused to move on, and hung up on me. Never heard of customer service, have you? You are not right. You were not right about the one line being refused because it was not covered, and I guess it rattled you when I called you on being wrong about that. If your accounting dept has a policy of not refunding pre-payments until all questions have been settled on a claim, then they should not be so adamant about requiring full prepayment for procedures. Or maybe they should pay more attention to the reason that some line items were denied instead of just blaming it all on "your insurance doesn't cover this". It is hard enough to deal with the insurance company to get them to re-process the claim in the first place, I should not then have to argue with the provider's office to get the refund that was sent to them in error because of the insurance incompetence. If this is the level of admin support for the office then I may have to reconsider ever returning there. I have to say this is the first time I have had this type of issue with this office, interactions with other employees have been very good. Even when answers have not been what I wanted to hear they have been delivered in a professional manner. Maybe the practice can stop this one employee from staining their generally positive reputation.

He explained that there were certain things she had to do before we could move forward and schedule the extractions. The front desk staff, Shannon specifically, was also phenomenal. From the moment I called to place the appointment and asked her many questions, to when we arrived, and she helped get us checked in and settled, she was great. Very friendly and personable, but also very knowledgeable and professional. This dentist is obviously very popular based on the amount of people that were there. However, even though he was running behind, the staff kept us informed and were still very efficient. But despite that, he did not rush us, and he answered all of our questions. If you need to have any teeth extracted, and you find him on your own or get a referral, I would not hesitate to reach out because it was a very positive experience, and we definitely feel more comfortable about returning when my mother is ready to have her teeth extracted.

On the day of my appointment, I was scheduled for 12:00, but I was kept waiting without any explanation or update until 12:45. There was no apology or acknowledgment of the delay. The examination itself felt very rushed. The doctor briefly looked at my upper right tooth using a tongue depressor and spent about 5 minutes discussing possible extractions. Normally, a dental mirror is used for proper examination of teeth, so the lack of a proper instrument was concerning. I also requested an evaluation of tooth #13 (upper left), and I was told it would be included in the report. The entire visit lasted about 10 minutes. They told me that the treatment plan would be sent later that same day. They told me that the treatment plan would be sent later that same day. Afterwards, I had to follow up multiple times over 5 days to receive the treatment plan. When it was finally sent, even the tooth numbers were incorrect. In particular, for tooth #13, the doctor had clearly stated in person that the condition was very poor, not salvageable, and required extraction. However, in the report this was reduced to a mild statement such as: "the patient reports intermittent symptoms of discomfort associated with tooth #13." Overall, the experience was rushed, poorly documented, and disappointing due to a lack of attention to detail and communication.

I'm told they will get with me soon in the mean time X-rays are taken and payment is requested while I have to wait. I'm called about 11:00. Then I'm called in for the extraction. Dr. Scott Kim comes in numbs my mouth and begans procedure. He pulling and tugging, I understand that this is a deep rooted tooth and that he has to watch not to damage the nerve. I can feel every tug, so he numbs me again. Leaves out and return. Starts procedure again pulling and tugging, his instrument slips, hits me on my front teeth, I yell out. He says it a little difficult I'm going to have to break it into two piece. He gets it out, my face swollen and I'm just glad it's over. I was in pain by the time I got home so I just took my medication and went to sleep. When I awoke I went to look at my teeth because that instrument hit kinda hard. Why my front tooth cracked. The next day when they called to check on me I told them that when I was hit with the instrument my tooth was cracked. They brought me in the next day took xray again. Dr. Kim comes in never shows me the xray, but takes pics of my tooth with his cell phone. Then tells me it was probably already cracked. It's a noticeable crack I look in my mouth everyday it was not cracked. Did not offer a solution. This man tells me not to worry about that tooth, keep watch on the tooth that was pull and if there is a problem give them a call. Just the fact you did not compare the two X-rays is telling.
