I recently purchased a new 2025 BMW 4 Series convertible. I can honestly say that it was the single best car purchase experience I have ever had in my life. I'm 59 years old, so do the math on how many cars I've owned. When done right, car 'shopping' can be fun, but as we all know, not always. Car 'buying' is always much more challenging. And sometimes downright awful. Hard to find the model you want, rude or inattentive salespeople. And when I know more about the car than they do - which is way too often, can be super frustrating. And then the time it takes to complete the transaction on pick-up day can be perplexing, lengthy, and otherwise maddening. I share all this because my experience at Orange County BMW (Harriman, NY) was the OPPOSITE of that. It was just terrific! My salesman (Jon Lanzkron) and the general manager (Sami Ozder) were incredibly friendly, helpful, understanding of my situation, and HIGHLY engaged and responsive. I wanted to design my own spec on the car, which can be tricky from a timing standpoint. These guys walked me through the whole process and made it fun and seamless. It gets even better. On pick-up day, it only took about 60 minutes to complete the paperwork, shift my insurance, etc. It could have probably been even quicker, but I'm kind of chatty. PUBLIC STATEMENT -- BMW HAS FAILED TO FIX ITS OWN MISTAKE I purchased a BMW from Orange County BMW in March 2026. What should have been a simple purchase has turned into an absolute nightmare because of a mistake made by the dealership itself. When Orange County BMW issued my temporary registration/tag, they incorrectly mixed up my registration information with another customer who purchased a vehicle around the same time. As a result, since March, another person has been driving their vehicle through E-ZPass tolls and accumulating violations that have been incorrectly associated with ME and MY vehicle. These are NOT my tolls. These are NOT my violations. I did NOT incur these charges. They exist because BMW made an administrative mistake. What is even more outrageous is that I have spent months trying to get BMW to correct a problem that THEY CREATED. Despite numerous attempts to resolve this with Orange County BMW, I have not received the resolution I deserve. I have also contacted BMW Corporate, expecting them to step in and protect a customer who is being harmed by a mistake made by one of their dealerships. Instead, I have been left fighting this problem myself. Now, after months of BMW failing to resolve the issue, I am being threatened with/turned over to a credit agency for violations that belong to someone else. Think about that. I bought a BMW. BMW gave the wrong registration information to another customer. That customer accumulated toll violations. And now MY credit and MY financial reputation are being put at risk because BMW can't correct its own mistake. This is completely unacceptable. I purchased a BMW expecting a professional organization to stand behind its product and its customers. Instead, I have been forced to spend months proving that I am not responsible for someone else's toll violations. BMW needs to take responsibility, immediately: 1. Correct the registration error. 2. Remove every toll and violation that does not belong to me. 3. Pay/resolve the violations caused by their error. 4. Stop any collection or credit reporting activity against me. 5. Provide written confirmation that my record and credit will not be damaged because of BMW's mistake. I am posting this publicly because apparently months of phone calls and attempts to resolve this privately have not been enough. BMW -- this isn't about a customer asking for a favor. This is about a company taking responsibility for its own mistake. I will not accept responsibility for someone else's toll violations, and I will not allow my credit or reputation to be damaged because BMW couldn't get a temporary registration correct. I have driven BMWs for 3 decades and have brought my older model vehicle for repairs to this dealership for a the last few years. The turn-around time has always been slow -in some cases literally WEEKS, and sometimes I have gotten different assessments at different times for the same issue so the quality of the work can be inconsistent, but overall, they eventually got it mostly right as far as I know. After my most recent experience, I need to warn anyone who loves their vehicle to find another place for repairs. Seriously. Don't bring any vehicle you value here. My vehicle sustained damage while sitting in their lot for another weeks-long wait. While I was told they would mitigation the damage, it is clear to me since picking up the car, they really just let it sit and fester a few days and handed it back to me in a condition that can't really be remediated properly now. In the entire process, I have never been able to speak with the service manager or anyone beyond the same front line advisor. I can't say I have ever experienced this level of willful negligence. I have learned the hard way that there is a reason they don't feature their staff or leadership on their website (it's a blank page); it is a means of avoiding culpability, good (even basic) business practices, and just plain decency. I truly believed the service advisor I had worked with for years had integrity, but the soullessness runs deep here. It's a little embarrassing to admit an attachment to a car-but I got a ton of joy driving my classic-particularly in the last two years marked by a lot of personal loss. Now it can't be safely driven anymore and it's kind of heartbreaking. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else. read more

On April 7, I dropped my 2024 X5 40i drive, vehicle off to address a " check engine" light. Immediate interaction with Nick lede to spend $900 for an oil change, spark plugs and brake fluid drain. After conferring with Nick, he cleared the "error". I went to pick up my car the next day, drove off and the engine light came on again. I reached out to Nick and he scheduled me 2 weeks out for a loaner to assess the error message. I dropped my car off April 21, 2026. Nick assured me he would reach out by the following day. It's been 2 weeks, I haven't received a phone call or update on the status of my vehicle. I contacted the dealership every day after April 22nd, was transferred to a number, where no one picked up! However, I did speak to the Service Manager Sophia, who was no help! Oh and to add insult to injury, i reviewed the live activity for my car, IT'S BEEN PARKED SINCE I DROPPED IT OFF !! As of the writing of this review, I am disappointed and have forwarded a letter to the General Manager, Corporate and BBB, for resolution! Came here for my inspection. Had to wait for a few minutes, as the shop was busy on Friday afternoon before a long weekend, but the service staff was kind and efficient. Masks are required to enter now! I've come here before for a service appointment, and they do give out loaner cars for long-term services, you'll just need to reserve them a week or more in advance. I had gotten a new X1 as my loaner (which I took photos of lol) and I liked it so much, I decided I want to get this one as a family car. For shorter-term services, like my inspection, it will take about an hour or so. Hopefully not any longer than that. You can wait in the waiting room, where there is a Keurig machine and a bathroom, should you need either. Complimentary car wash! read more

Wanted to unload a diesel BMW I got bamboozled. The sales manager & sales person lied -told me it was very practical which it isn't unless you spend an extra $3000 on their warranty plan. No pre-owned warranty package at all. RUN dont walk from them. I gave $500 deposit which was to be refunded I had to dispute it with American Express to get my money back. Horrible service when do you get a loaner at a high end dealership & you have mileage limitations they charge $.50 a mile if you go over. Ridiculous!! They have an "F" rating in the BBB!! I utilized the BMW service for a airbag recall. They were truly professional and very courteous. Unlike the parts department and sales department which is terrible. If you're having your car serviced here it's good. I wish the other departments were equal but the other departments leave much to be desired. I would rather go to prestige BMW in Ramsey New Jersey to purchase a BMW than OCBMW. I am willing to travel the extra mileage than deal with a sales staff that tries to nickle and dime you. OCBMW doesn't negotiate fair prices but overcharges you. Go elsewhere but not here. In regards to the parts department any other dealer or location is better than purchasing parts at OCBMW. I purchased a new M440i from OCBMW back in February. At 10,000 miles, I had a severe drivetrain malfunction. I immediately scheduled a service appointment through the My BMW app and contacted their service desk. I was told a loaner car would not be available for approximately 4 weeks. I explained my frustrations as this was a brand new vehicle purchased from their dealership. The receptionist could not care less. She recommended I rent a vehicle and call my insurance company to see if they would cover the cost. I told the receptionist I would stick with the appointment I had scheduled on the app instead of rescheduling for a later appointment with a loaner. After hanging up, I received an email stating the appointment I had scheduled on the app was no longer available. OCBMW clearly does not stand by their product or support their customers. I cannot say enough good things about Morristown BMW. After getting blown off and cancelled on by OCBMW, I called Morristown and explained the situation. They worked with my schedule and were able to fit me in right away. They even let me drop my vehicle off and pick up a loaner 530i the night prior to my appointment. Since my vehicle had been sitting for over a week prior to the service, the drivetrain malfunction fault had reset itself. The technician put the time and effort in to replicate the fault. Sure enough, the car needs a new transmission. Morristown's service and communication has been exemplary. read more

I have be sitting here for an hour and no one called me so I went and asked if I'm still suppose to be waiting to speak with someone. And I was told my vehicle I went in for service already. OCBMW has got to have the worst customer service skills I have ever seen from any BMW dealership! I have previously had one bad experience where customer service was lacking! I took my daughters vehicle there to be serviced at OCBMW. Upon paying, the machine declined the card....yet pay day was that very day (so, money was in the account). I was basically treated as if I couldn't pay for the services for a bill which was probably about $25.00. The cashier never considered once that it could possibly be a poor connection to their WiFi or their machine! The cashier simply dusted me off like I no longer existed and treated very rudely! My daughter and I conversed about her experience, except this time her experience was with the sales team and they were truly rude as well! After our two experiences, we decided it was not in the best interest to be looking for, buying vehicles here! Well today, I received a phone call from customer service .....they wanted to speak to my husband. Obviously they were looking to sale us a car/SUV. I told the associate we already bought a car and were therefore no longer interested! I told her because the prior bad experiences, we bought our car elsewhere and requested that she do not call us again! The associate (woman) proceeded to ask me again to speak to my husband despite what I just said! She told me that she was going to continue to call! The associate then rudely hung up on me despite me saying NO, is simply NO! Do not call! I called this woman back and proceeded to verbally attack the woman for the way she treated me! This place has got to have the RUDEST CUSTOMER SERVICE ASSOCIATES I have ever dealt with! I don't have any problem with the professional "service" group. The only problem we seem to have is with the cashier, customer service associates and sales team! STOP CALLING, when your asked to do so!!! It's unwarranted harassment! After working with him he said he was going to call me back and never did. I expect more and have received better service from this type of car dealer. My husband and I had recently purchased a BMW X3 from a pre-owned dealer and noticed it had 3 recalls that had not been addressed. I called the service department and made an appointment with ease. Everyone was very friendly and gave importance to our concerns. They are also very informative as I received videos to my phone and email once the service was done explaining what was done to the car and other things that should be serviced in the car in the future. Leased a 2020 bmw for $748 a month. Upon driving home I expressed concern about the steering. Was told it's the lane change assistance package (I don't even have this option). After 4 weeks of swerving all over the road, turns out I was given a brand new car out of alignment. Took white plains bmw 3 days to diagnose this after initially denying anything was wrong with it. Poor customer service and not a fan of this brand since switching from Mercedes. I still feel like the steering is a little off. If I wanted loose steering I could have gotten a Cheap car. read more

My wife and I purchased a car from Orange County BMW on 2/28/2021. We are out of state buyers and took every step to do our due diligence the correct way before signing paperwork. When asked for new photos of the vehicle, I was told that the vehicle's photos had been taken recently and that snow on the ground made taking photos in that moment a challenge. I was told the vehicle I purchased was a demo that the owner of Orange County BMW was driving and had recently turned in and was assured that as a Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle, it was well taken care of and was free of any damage history or paint work. The Carfax was indeed clean and this was billed as a clean "no stories" car. My wife and I completed the purchase and the vehicle was delivered in short order by the delivery team Tim Tansen at Orange County BMW selected (They were amazing and were truly the highlight of this purchase). Upon further inspection of the vehicle, it was determined that the right fender and front bumper had both been repainted and the quality of the repaint was poor to boot. The clear coat was failing (Flaking) off in areas because the painter did not shoot the clearcoat to a clean edge, but rather attempted to "spot the clear" in AND there was trash in the paint beneath the clearcoat which indicates an unclean paint room. In short, the person who did this paint work did a poor hack job and passed it off as good. I contacted Orange County BMW immediately and was initially told that they had no knowledge of the paint work, but they did acknowledge that my paint depth meter clearly showed evidence of it and would be reviewing with leadership to get back to me. It's been over a month and several phone calls and emails have been sent to Orange County BMW with no response. Their way of making this right is to ignore their customer until they go away out of aggravation but that won't be happening with us! In addition to the above horrible experience, I still have not received the documentation necessary to register my car! It's been over a month and my car is not registered. Per state law, I am in violation and cannot drive the car until the vehicle is registered. I emailed the dealership and CC'd BMW NA this morning and received a prompt response that the registration paperwork was waiting on me at the DMV... In reality, they've sent it to a DMV in a different county DESPITE the fact that I gave them the mailing address for the correct DMV in my county on 2 separate occasions. This is a dealership that makes blunder after blunder and then gaslights the customer into thinking THEY are the issue. When that doesn't work, they just ignore you and hope you'll go away. Please buy your BMW from anywhere else but here. It looks like we may have to contact the Attorney General of NY to even get someone to follow up with us regarding the shoddy paint work to our vehicle. read more

I was so excited to get my X1 and happy I went to OCBMW. I worked with Frank "The Christian man" to sign all my paperwork to get my new car. That same day I had a lot of errands and had to keep getting in and out the car- it was then I realized this X1 is too small for me. I took the car back the very next day to get something more suitable for my frame. Frank did his calculations and told me I would need to pay $8,000- 10,000 since I've already left the lot with the car - whhhhhaaaaatttt??? spoke to the supervisor ,he offered me a smaller car, Pure Blasphemy! Anyway- I've desperately tried different avenues to get a bigger BMW but failed and the worst part was, the absolutely worst part is learning from different BMW dealerships that OCBMW "got me" for paying $500 monthly payment when I should be paying $350-400 according to my credit score at that time. I've also learned that the $900 dollars warranty Frank was charging me is 600 bucks instead. I brought my car in for warranty service and planned on waiting until the car was fixed as I had an appointment. But scheduled the repair on day when no cars were available. Suzanne, the service advisor, said the she could arrange for a rental car at a discount which I graciously accepted. Less than five minutes later she asked if I would prefer a ride home and she would arrange for my car to be delivered to me the next day. Since I have another car at my home I accepted her offer. Repair service is a reminder of how dealerships rip off and extort customers. My car is under warranty. The right outer axel boot was leaking grease due to a defect in the boot. This is a covered warranty item. I was told that the technician said 'looks like a PHILLIPS HEAD SCREW DRIVER' punched a hole in the boot. Therefore, 'AN OUTSIDE INFLUENCE' caused the tear in the boot. And it's NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY'. Cost to repair was quoted at $701.00. As a Senior citizen and a female.....I can assure OCBMW that I did not crawl under the car and with SUPERMAN like strength and punch a hole in the boot to cause the grease to leak out. It took 5 days for OCBMW to give me my UNREPAIRED car back. The General Manager and Service Manager should both be fired by BMW of North America. read more

We have leased several BMW 5 series cars from OCBMW and have always worked with Mary Kate. She has always been helpful and upfront with charges, etc. Never had any problems when we returned our cars before the lease expired. The service department staff have also been helpful. The only negative is the waiting room. The seats are arranged such that you are facing the toilet. It's a shame, this is the first BMW dealership that gave me false info and tried to steal my money. I came in and literally told them I wanted a full vehicle check AND I stated that when I made my appointment along with a diagnostic and oil service. They tried charging me over $1000 for plugs and coils. I took my car to BMW of Morristown, NJ and guess what? It's a SULEV vehicle and falls under the SULEV warranty and this work was done for FREE...and they said it only needed coils. These guys didn't even check my vehicle like I asked, they only did the diagnostic for the misfiring. How do I know? Because BMW of Morristown gave me a full report and they documented that they had to fill low washer fluid and refill my air in my tires. This is usually done on top of the oil service (well in Texas it was). My advice? When you go to OC BMW, watch them do the work on your car and investigate what they offer and tell you...or just get advice from some where else to make sure it's legit before paying these people. read more

My friend and I recent visited this dealer to buy a car. I must confess that this was a VERY UNPLEASANT TRIP. Having the experience of buying several cars before, I am totally aware how this whole thing works, offer and counter offer, bargaining and compromise, a handshake and sealing the deal. But the salesperson who received us was EXTREMELY RUDE. Acting as the boss, he made his offer and refused to do any further negotiation. Furthermore, he reacted to our counter offer in such a mocking and defiant way that, I quote, "If you think my offer is not good enough, then find your way and have a good day". Well, if the salesperson was making a sincere offer to us, his words made sense. But the truth is, his price is not even close to reasonable. We have done some research before going to the dealer and knew that a reasonable price would be around 51000. The salesperson offered us 54500. When we decided to purchase a same car from another dealer later that day, we finally sealed the price at 51000. That's a gap of 3.5K bucks. I don't know how Orange County BMW hires salespersons. But one thing is for sure, the salesperson who received us is not doing his job in a professional way and lacks basic promotional skills and respect for customers. I definitely won't recommend my friends to go to this dealer anymore. read more

It should of been red flags right off that bat when they said they would send me an email confirming the appointment to look at the car and get my car appraised for a trade in. We bought a used 535i elsewhere with very low miles. It was missing a second key, which we have to obtain from OCBMW. I have to tell you, they've been very gracious to me, going so far as having a kind gentleman from the office come out and help me to pair my phone and demonstrate the GPS on a car I bought elsewhere. Shady. Salesperson called me to let me know they had a great special that would fit my price range. The second time the dealer had done so. Salesperson said on the phone she had run all the numbers with her manager as she was aware I was not interested in sitting around for a b.s. outcome that had transpired on the first go-round. Well, that is EXACTLY what happened. Two hours of sitting around after test drives of the cars that had "great deals" the numbers presented to me were twice what we had discussed. Colossal waste of time. Either the sales manager, Sunny, is completely mathematically incompetent or this dealership is sketchy. Will never return. Wow is all I can say first time here, service with a smile but the thing that really struck me place was clean, visual inspection of the vehicle before I even saw the service guy, timely call when car was ready with all price points and options, no surprise expenses. Shuttle do and from my house. Kind shuttle staff, picked me up in the 2015 4 series 4 dr coupe which was insane by the way. A little on the expensive side like double sheesh but that's the price to play. Car was cleaned and vacuumed. So far so good ill be back ! read more

Orange County BMW is the shadiest company and not representative of the experience you think you're getting with the brand. My husband and I drove from Boston looking for a specific car. We checked it out, took it for a test drive, paid a $1,000, and made an agreement to buy the car. They were "fixing it up" for us to get it ready for delivery, and we didn't hear updates for almost 3 weeks. We had an independent inspector check out the car who told us it was in poor condition, with dents and dings that were not there when we looked at the car. When we asked our sales rep, Tim Tamsen, for updated photos he refused to provide them. We knew something was up and looked him up online only to find out he is an ex-lawyer who was disbarred for dishonesty and theft. At this point, we decided to pull out of the sale and requested our deposit back. They completely ghosted us for days. We contacted the manager, Sunny Shuman, who apologized and said he'd refund the money. While it initially looked like he was going to keep his word, Sunny then reversed the payment! These guys are total crooks, literally. They will lie and steal from you. Find another BMW dealership that is actually reputable and representative of the brand. I wanted to leave a good review for somewhere because the other few I wrote about other places have been bad. I drove 3 hours each to look at a Mercedes at a big dealership (with multiple upscale locations) in Mass because car was showing way under book on Car Guru. Thought 100% I was getting it and was not looking to negotiate down. I got there and car looked like someone was playing tic-tac-toe on it with keys (scratches). Wouldn't have bought it for anything, Huge waste of time and effort and there was another dealer like that that fooled me. Anyways, I went here to Orange County BMW to check out a BMW way under on Car Guru. Service was really great and car was too; ran smooth. I was going to go forward but ultimately I didn't like the body style of the 5 series and think I'll look for a 4 series. We purchased a used 2012 BMW 650i x-drive convertible. We walked into the showroom in our basic errand attire and felt out of place and although greeted warmly and professional we were bounced to another sales rep. The gentleman that put our deal together was very nice and semi knowledgeable about the product (being this was his second month with the dealer). Took us two trips and about 8 hours to complete the deal and accept delivery of the vehicle.The sales manager was pleasant and easy to negotiate with. The finance manager was very professional and knowledgeable and got us a decent interest which he negotiated one point lower the day we signed the finance documents at a 5%apr. We asked to have some cosmetic touch ups done as part of the deal. The service department was friendly and semi efficient. I feel that they are overworked and try their best to make the client feel comfortable even if it means telling a little lies. For example,we were told that the two wheels we asked be fix were removed on Thursday and taken away by the person that fixes the rims that night. We were in the area on Saturday and stopped to see the progress (if the rims were fix) after hours;we spotted our car in rear lot and got out to inspect it. To our surprise the rims where still on and not fix at all. I let them do their job and not rush or complain as I give people opportunities to prove themselves. The loaner car they gave us was a small X-1 SUV that was ok for the small amount of time we were told the car will be in service. I asked the loaner dept to switch me out into a small car as we were attending a wedding and didn't want to roll up in a SUV. The lady said all she had was a 328i available and we took it as we didn't have a choice. I did notice other sedans that were bigger and nicer than the entry level 3 series basic package they gave us. I questioned her why she couldn't give us one of the other vehicles and she gave us a couple of excuses and even said that a 5 series was for their VIP clients. I had purchased a 5 series from OCBMW in 2010 and had no problem. This being my second used purchase for our everyday drive and commute doesn't exactly place me in a VIP category but I did spend $32k in 2010 and $36,950 this time around. I ended up having trouble with the 3 series loaner smoking under the hood so I took it in and left without a loaner as they didn't have anything available. Today, Saturday November 4th at approximately 1:15 pm I was driving my 650i on the NY State Thruway entering on interchange 17 (toll plaza 16 Harriman/Woodbury) at about 55 mph when I hit a bump and the vehicle display flashed "powertrain malfunction" and advised to drive at a moderate speed. I immediately called OCBMW and spoke with Michelle at the service dept. I told Michelle what had happened and advised her I was bribing the car in and needed a loaner. Michelle told me to hurry and get in as they close at two and she didn't handle the loaner administration but will see what she can do. I got in at 1:50pm and gave the issues to the service adviser and left the car there. Michelle said she did not have a loaner car (even though they had about 9 loaners sitting in the lot)and that she doesn't even think they will have one for Monday as they have them reserved for clients that have been waiting months (yes MONTHS). Thank god I called my wife as soon as I hung up with the dealer and asked her to rush and meet meat me at OCBMW. I left the car and came home in our truck. I have a 2017 Cadillac Escalade Platinum and a 2008 Infiniti G38s coupe in my garage right now. The deal for the Escalade took us about 3 hours. When I leased the Infiniti in 2007, it was done over the internet and my car was delivered to my business within a day. I have previously owned Mercedes, E500,CLS,C300 and 190e, Audi A6,A6 avant and 90s, Cadillac,CTS ,Deville and 2010 Escalade and Lincoln Navigator as well as several other lower end cars. My experience with the higher end car dealers and their service departments and loaners has always been excellent and they always offer decent loaners and never out of them. I would like to see Orange County BMW raise their level of excellence and try to at the very least have a loaner available as all the other dealerships do. I have never been put in an entry level loaner by any of the higher end car dealerships. I will be picking up my car first thing Monday morning and taking it to Prestige in NJ.
