She told us that she was very happy with the service and their products. I'm glad we listened to her. We started our backyard gardening a few months ago and we bought almost all our supplies and plants here and we are very pleased with their service. My review is solely based upon a phone conversation I had today with an employee. I live about 16 miles away and wanted to make sure they had the exact product I was looking for so it would not be a wasted drive with today's fuel prices. When I arrived the products I asked about that whomever I spoke to said they had in stock were not there. I wish I could give this place a zero for being con artists. This is the premier mecca for gardeners needing advice, pesticides, fertilizers and/or soils. I've never seen a shop like this, and for this reason, it's always packed. I've had problems that I couldn't solve with my plumeria and I got all sorts of conflicting information on the internet. Finally, I pulled off a leaf, took it up to the counter at O.C.F.S. and they correctly diagnosed the problem in 10 seconds and they didn't try and sell me anything to fix it. This place is amazing. The customer service is just over the top. I am very new to gardening and the staff is so helpful. Chris is a walking encyclopedia of information, JR has such a green thumb and always has something interesting growing up front, Brian is always happy to help and Tom will even load up your car for you. This is a negative review for OCFS. I had purchased some netting for my orchids and wanted to return it because my father had some. As soon as I walked in the man behind the counter had no courtesy whatsoever. and just bluntly asked me , what's that , as I lugged in the netting. I explained the situation to him and he asked me how he could sell that. I told him I never even took it out of my car and it was still in pristine condition and there was nothing on the back of the receipt stating anything about not taking it back and I was never told that they wouldn't take it if I returned it. The customer service at this place is non existent and I also noticed a lot of things are missing in the back room ,like shelves with many products. It seems like they are tightening there belts and I wouldn't be surprised if they go out of business. I know I won't be shopping there any more and I will always have negative things to say about this place! read more

I have used OC farm supply over the years. I have an Oak tree that is very old (over 500 years) and they are the go to people when I have a problem with it or anything in my garden. They can give you referrals to experts if they don't know the answer. I have dealt with Chris and Dave who are always there to help and share what they know and are a great source of knowledge to me. The prices at this place are fantastic and the quality is even better. I am always on the hunt for a good deal and their prices are usually 25% to 50% less than home depot. Its true that the staff are eccentric, but they are plant people not sales people. Who wants a bunch of extra stuff sold to them? They have always been straight forward and honest and have steered me toward the inexpensive and highly effective stuff i needed for my garden. Orange County Farm Supply is on a larger lot than most of their competitors, so they can stock a greater variety of soils, pots and tools. They also carry what seems to be the full line of Botanical Interests seeds. If you need something that you'd expect to be "hard-to-find," or just want to have an interesting time browsing, I'd recommend paying them a visit. read more

The vegetables are half the price of Home Depot, in way better condition and much more diverse. You can bring them a branch of a plant and they can diagnose any issues on the spot. You can buy 100% neem oil for super cheap there. Their seed selection is phenomenal. Go to Farm Supply. You will not be disappointed. read more

This place is great! I really appreciate them because they are knowledgeable and helpful. Sometimes at larger home and garden stores, the employees don't seem as reliable in knowing what they're talking about. I talked to Chris about soils and he gave me great advice about what to use in a raised garden bed, and he showed me how well the product has worked in OCFS's own raised garden beds on display. The staff here are pretty helpful. The owner.....not so much. You basically get yes/no answers only from him(no details) and he comes off pretty harsh, the "take it or leave it" type attitude. The rudest customer service I have ever encountered. As I approached the front desk, an older employee asked me if I was in college. After I replied that I currently wasn't, he made a smug and condescending comment, and when I was clearly not amused, he continued. Because I was thrown off by the things he was saying to me, I accidentally used an expired card out of my wallet. It was obviously declined, and another employee took the opportunity to say, "Well, maybe if you were in college and had a degree, it wouldn't be declined, would it?" I was completely thrown off. I was happy to think I finally found a good garden supply, the first time I went I was helped by a nice guy with dreads who was helpful. The second time there was quite the opposite, this I was greeted by horrible customer service from the owner. He was extremely rude and unhelpful. They over price most items as well which I would not mind paying if it was a well ran business. I will never go back. Definitely better placed around. read more

Even seed trays, off the wall fertilizers, etc. The service is usually really good, some of the guys kind of have a attitude but stick to a gentleman named Chris, he is really knowledgeable and cares about his job. This is a great place for quality veggies in pony packs, gardening supplies and garden/potting soil. I love their mini farm in the back so you can see how big plants can get in this area. I come here quite often as I am an avid gardener. I've always gotten great service, honest, knowledgeable answers to my gardening questions, and a good selection of hard to find growing supplies. You can't beat this place for serious seed starting equipment, fertilizers for every kind of specialized plant you can think of (I'm into tropicals), and pretty much anything that has to do with hard core gardening. Prices are better than any of the big-box stores (naming no names). I don't know of anywhere else in Orange County you can find the supplies that they have here. Yeah, you might be able to find a tomato cage, or some very common item a little cheaper, but overall, their prices on stuff beats even internet prices. I needed a few pounds of a specific grass seed to redo part of my lawn, and not only did they have it for a third the price of an internet site, they even had a generic and a name brand version of it! I got the generic and it grew great. They have never tried to up sell me, even though they could have on numerous occasions. You can't beat this place if you love gardening! read more
