After she was done appraising my ring, she cleaned it and made it look brand new! I was in and out in less than an hour. I recently got engaged and decided to get my ring locally appraised for insurance purposes. An appraisal accompanied the ring order but I wanted to get it done locally as well. It never hurts to get a second opinion, right? I searched on Yelp for local appraisers and OC Jewelry Appraisers popped up. The reviews were positive, not to mention OCJA is Asian owned, so I contacted Tammy for an appointment. Fast forward to my appointment day and I totally forgot to confirm my appointment. Ha! I emailed her to let her know I was coming and I had to call when I was running a little late to let her know I was stuck in the traffic going to Laguna Beach. She was really nice about it and said it was fine. I was glad I researched her location in advance and that there was parking in the lot adjacent to her office. By the way, it's the second driveway on Ocean Avenue if you're coming from Forest. Her office is in the back of 430 so you can actually access it via the parking lot. It's a small unit but clean. She put on her mask when I entered wearing mine. She was really sweet and personable when we met, She got right to work appraising my ring. She asked me a few questions about the ring and typed up her notes. I was happy to find out my ring appraised for more than it cost to make and it was comparable to the appraisal that accompanied the ring. She printed out a hardcopy for me and emailed me the appraisal as well. Her service is reasonable and if you have multiple items to get appraised, she offers an hourly rate vs. a per item rate. I would check with her in advance to confirm. Also, she's a jewelry designer too so if you have something you can't get in a store, hit her up to design a piece for you. Tammy has been in business for years, initially with her family, until she branched out on her own. She is a GIA Graduate Gemologist so she knows what she's talking about.
