After Orange County Credit union changed their website, I am no longer able to Navigate the Site. After one month of them ignoring this I posted a poor yelp review that spiked their attention. They put me in touch with a fixer who assured me he would stay in contact and get this fixed. He did this for a week claiming their team was working on it. His last email was how I need my Mac book operating on at least OS 11. I informed him with a picture that I am operating on Tahoe OS 26 Then he said that this is not true! Saying I was below OS 11. Basically calling me and my computer a liar. Now I have not heard a peep from them. This is so unprofessional- Do Not Bank with these people . Especially if you have an up to date Mac book. They obviously do not know what they are doing and they are dealing with peoples money. If you plan to use a MacBook Pro for online banking it probably is not going to work at this bank and they are too lame to fix the problem. If i could put less than one star i would. On two occasions when i notified them of travel my card was flagged for suspicious behavior and was still unable to be used until i returned. They also flag my account locally. I am only able to use my card at recurring places i spend money at. They are incredibly irresponsible and have terrible customer service. read more

Title: Aggressive, Unprofessional Management -- OCCU Needs to Take Accountability My visit to Orange County's Credit Union was a complete disaster, thanks to the aggressive and completely unprofessional conduct of JAMES HERITAGE, the so-called Branch Team Leader. I came in simply to get information about personal vs. business checking accounts, and while speaking with another representative, James inserted himself into the conversation uninvited--and with an attitude that quickly escalated to near hostility. He came right up to me, speaking in a way that was borderline threatening. When I asked him directly, "Are you threatening me?", he turned tail and retreated back to his little cube. If that's not an admission of inappropriate behavior, I don't know what is. Kathy Jumper, the CEO of OCCU, should be seriously concerned. If this is how her team leaders operate--intimidating customers and interfering in basic inquiries--she's not just failing in leadership, she's inviting legal trouble. Someone is going to file a lawsuit one day, and based on my experience, it'll be well deserved. I will never do business with OCCU again, and I strongly advise others to steer clear. There are plenty of institutions that treat people with respect and professionalism. This place isn't one of them. read more

I have not experienced any fair customer service since 4/2024, much less good or excellent. They don't like to answer your questions or address your concerns or be helpful after making the deal with you. When I first called to inquire about rates they gave me their direct lines and offered me $200 incentives if I go with them (but ended up only offering me $100). Afterwards, I wanted to do a principle only payment. I called many times it was routed to the "overflow" after 20 min of wait. The agents there were not helpful stated "you need to wait for them." " I am only the backup." I was tossed back and forth like a ping pong ball. I tried to contact the officer who signed my loan, It took several weeks to hear from him. He was not on vacation. I complained but no one got back with me. Case closed. Recently, they have been abusing my address by sending me lots of products. Just now, someone from their office 714 755 5900 called me to pressure me to consider a loan. They do not have my permission to send me any products or call me They are very aggressive in sales in addition to negligence. They violated my privacy rights. And trust. Terrible. read more

I've been a member of OCCU for many years and over the last 8 years I've experienced multiple issues of fraud and cybersecurity breaches. Three years ago when it happened yet again, I moved my checking and savings accounts to Navy FCU but retained small balances of just under $5,000 in checking and savings at OCCU as a result of having recurring subscription charges from Apple and the like, so figured that because my accounts were primarily dormant and accruing some interest, that it would be safe to leave those accounts active instead of moving over all funds to my primary accounts at Navy FCU. On 12/2/23, there was over $1,400 in fraud charges taken from my accounts so I followed-up with OCCU with the necessary steps to dispute the charges. I also filed a police report to escalate the matter and came to the conclusion that my money isn't safe here so closed both my accounts. I went into the branch on 12/7, and was able to close my savings but the teller wouldn't allow me to withdraw the funds from checking as there was a temporary hold since the dispute was still pending. I wrote and called asking to speak with a manager to expedite having the funds released so that I could move on, withdraw the funds and close my account. I'm writing because this isn't an isolated incident and the 3rd-party company Co-op that OCCU employs to identify fraudulent activity seems to have made multiple errors when it came to my account because not only do I not use the account for bills or spending, only recurring monthly subscription charges, they didn't identify that the charges that had been withdrawn from my account as transaction behavior, wasn't indicative of online purchases that I had made recently or in the past. Also, the responses I received from management were scripted, canned responses intended to placate individuals and cause delays in resolving the problem in a timely matter. With others experiencing cybersecurity breaches to their accounts, per the other online reviews, I sense a potential class-action at some point, for OCCU's complacency and mishandling of members' funds. read more

I bought a car in October because my Toyota Prius needed 6K of repairs. I ended up buying a used IS250 from Lexus in Mission Viejo and they handed me over to their finance guy to close the deal. This was not at all a pleasant experience and I just wanted to get it over with so although they ended up lowering their bank interest rate a couple of points, I still ended up refinancing afterword at OC Credit Union and refinanced almost two points lower at the credit union. This worked out well for me because I ended up knocking off the points and it was all taken care of in one afternoon appointment. Thank you, James! read more
