I have been doing business banking for 8 years with Chase and have gone to every location in the OC and even out of the area. I generally do not have a lot of cash to deposit but occasionally someone pays with cash. This is normal. Yesterday went to the Los Olivos location and had all the checks and $60 cash to deposit when the teller told me that I needed to provide my drivers license, so I politely declined and gave him my business debit card with my name on it. He proceeded to tell me that they require a DL to deposit cash. I was floored because this was the first time I have heard of this, and again I told him that I was not going to provide my personal information for a business deposit. This is not my money so why would I have to give them my DL The teller said let me get my manager who then proceeded to tell me the exact same thing and would not let me deposit the $60. She was rude. This is beyond comprehension to me because when you deposit money in the ATM, you don't give over your DL. What am I missing? The Chase locations in Irvine need to get back to customer service because I do not have these issues anywhere else in the OC. This was my first time visiting this branch for an appointment. After waiting for 10 minutes, no one came to check me in or offer any assistance, and I couldn't find anyone to ask -- everyone seemed extremely busy. I'm not sure if this branch is short-staffed, but it was quite frustrating. Normally, when I visit other branches, there is someone at the front desk to check in guests and answer questions. If given the option, I would consider not returning to this location unless staffing improves and better service is provided. My appointment was scheduled for 12:00 PM, but I wasn't seen until 12:30 PM -- and no one even came by to inform me how long the wait would be. What a joke! read more

This has been my preferred Chase branch in the last year I've been living in Irvine as it is close to home and despite being crazy sometimes, the parking lot is generally easy enough to navigate to find an open spot (come during the weekday mornings and you won't have any issues). All the tellers and bankers have been very friendly and helpful. There's an ATM both outside and indoors for your convenience as well. read more

Marleen in the back is my "go to" person and is phenomenal! She goes above and beyond for our needs. Overall I'm pretty satisfied with Chase bank but would like to ask this branch to update their Saturday hours on Yelp. Currently says they're open until 4pm but that isn't the case. Have had a Chase VISA for DECADES bc it was part of United Airlines frequent flyer club. Only thing is i rarely fly on United and the $100./ year charge not worth it. WORST BRANCH EVER!!!! I went in for a simple request, after being ignored for 45 minutes and asking for several updates from the staff, I was greeted by a stuck up, entitled branch manager Brenda, who gave me SO MUCH ATTITUDE and was such a smart a** I can't believe they had someone like her in charge!!! Now I see why this location only has 2 stats. That's sad actually. As I write this review I've been waiting for a banker for going on 35 minutes and STILL COUNTING!!!!!! Apparently only two bankers working which is fine but one of them (an Asian female) literally has no one she helping. She has only taken one phone call in the last 35 minutes and had been staring at her computer the rest of the time. The other guy is working hard with his customer. I have come to this Chase bank location multiple time as it is conveniently located close to my work. Always greeted by friendly and warm welcomes. Teller is always polite and attentive. No complaints from me.. other reviewers must have been having a bad day Sadly today I closed my account with Chase because the corporate call centers couldn't get my account right and continuously charged me account fees without cause. But David Sui the banker who assisted me today was extremely friendly and if for any reason I do return to chase it will be solely because of how he handled the situation today. Good job David Sui! This is a nice location with time limit parking in front for quick use of the ATM machines. One is outside and the second inside which requires you to use your ATM card to open the door after banking hours. The bank is nice and clean. They offer you water or coffee and they have a candy dish for a quick sugar rush. The staff are attentive and courteous so a good banking experience overall. read more

Rude, unprofessional, and inconsiderate people work here. As soon as I entered the line, I already felt like leaving. A counter female worker was arguing with a male customer regarding a cash deposit while two other workers were discussing what drinks to get at Starbucks. One of those workers (an Asian male) left to go to Starbucks while I was still in line. I asked the other Asian Chase employee named Connie if she could help since I had been waiting awhile and she was standing there chatting with the male employee but she told me to stay in line and wait. I was eventually helped by the counter worker, the same one who argued with the male customer who had just left the bank after a long argument regarding his cash deposit. Connie was now behind the counter worker and when I asked about the recent returned deposit of my account, Connie was very rude and spoke in a condescending manner to me. She told me she hears it "alllllll the time" and implying I was making something up. She kept using this disparaging tone, elongating her words as if she was talking to a child, making me feel very insulted. She used the same comment, tone of voice, and condescending attitude toward the male customer before me as well. Of my 20 years as a Chase customer I have been to several Chase branches as well as other banks, but I have never had such a negative experience as the one I had at this branch thanks to Connie. Her arrogant and disparaging attitude is not a good fit for customer service. If this was the closest Chase bank to me I'd definitely switch banks. No customer want to be harassed, demeaned, or belittled when they need help. With mobile deposit, new ATM services, and online banking, customers rarely physically go into the banks these days. When they do, it's usually because they need immediate assistance. Therefore, this Chase branch needs to hire employees who understand this and actually help customers instead of ruining that experience and making customers want to change banks. read more

Extremely unprofessional team of people. First I made an appt online and received a confirmation via email that Pepper Zhao would call me at 10am. No calls.... So I called the branch myself, and spoke to Stephanie. She took all my information and told me she will look into it and call me back. Then, no call backs so I called her in the afternoon again. She said "Oh, no one called you back? Hold on." And she just straight transferred me to someone else without giving me a chance to say anything. Very rude! Now Connie answers and took my info and then she's telling me Tarik will have to call me back. And of course, NOTHING. I used to go to this branch when I lived across the street from it a couple years ago, but I have not been back until recently to get into my safety box. I've experienced nothing but excellent customer service every time I go here which is rare these days to find friendly service. Worst branch. I went here yesterday for a wire transfer for my stock trader to get a spot trade. The banker forgot to send the wire transfer and didn't even call me to inform. He's the Lebanese banker and I have no idea what his name is. I'm so pissed because he caused me money on my trade! Great job idiot! Your job is just to wire the money and you didn't execute it. Don't go to this branch! Go to Mission Viejo by the lake and look for Ariel the branch manager. I have been with chase for many many years, however this branch gave me the worst experience ever. I walked into branch on 12/12/17 and hoping to speak to a business specialist for opening business account and apply business credit card. They asked me to wait and after 15 minutes of waiting, they told me i need to make an appointment with the business specialist. They could told me that the minute I walked in. I made an appointment for 11:30am the next day. When I got there it was 11:33am and the ONLY business specialist is helping a walked in customer. I checked in with them and waited 50 minutes. No one feel sorry or bothered to talk to me. I do not understand how their system works but i am definitely not coming back. read more

Worst bank I have been involved with. I deposited money on the outside ATM on 2/13/2021 ($6200) the ATM eat my money. I had to wait until Tuesday 2/17/2021 because of the holiday. When i walked into the branch I told the banker what happen he asked to sit in the waiting. While waiting told me he was going to help another customer then he will help me. Then a nice Asian lady helped me out and was very helpful. I asked to speak to a manager and she act as if she was to busy and there was nothing she could do. The point is I never write reviews ever 1st one. Just want people to know don't use there out side atm. Also, if something like this happens to you they will handle it the way they want too. Their customer service was top notch. They're friendly and helpful but most of all, they went above and beyond what is expected of any typical bank representatives. There was Tarik (?) who was patient and so welcoming and there were Theodore and Jenn who literally helped me count money! So I had broke out my piggy bank of 7 years and all the coins and bills I needed to account for. I didn't have one of those roll papers which meant how embarrassing! Yet they were SO SO helpful - Jenn busted out their plastic coin counting tool and she along with Theodore offered to count the coins with me. Covid is hard and stressful and it was such a fresh breath of air to experience such kindness and humanity at its best. I've been business banking with Chase 8 years now and process about $20k-$28k monthly. I'm stating this because I believe being a loyal and active customer should mean something. Chase called me Thursday afternoon and told me they had my ATM card which I left in the machine and that I had to pick it up in 24 hours. That was nice of them! I called back and left a voicemail 10 minutes after closing saying I'd pick it up in the morning. The next day I called the number from the voicemail and mentioned I would be picking it up around lunch time. I came in at 11:30 waited around for 15 minutes and received no help when there was only 1 other customer inside, so I asked a private banker for help. He had no clue and after waiting a few moments VP Brenda Smith walked by and said I'll help him, yet she was with another customer. After 20 more minutes I asked the personal banker how much longer the wait would be since I have spent nearly 40 minutes waiting, as I'm just here picking up my card. He went to ask the Vice President Mrs. Smith how much longer and she rudely responded "I'm with a customer if you want to get it yourself you can go in the vault." He proceeded to be very helpful and went to look. After a while being back there, VP Brenda Smith went to assist him and came back and told me that they shredded the card. Irritated, I asked "Why did they confirm an hour early that it was there and could be picked up?" I rescheduled work day so that I could go grab it." I then mentioned that I had left a voicemail at which she quickly retorted "we don't have a voicemail "I mentioned I did leave a voicemail when I came by at 6:10 PM and the doors were closed. She then responded with "we were open till 6:12 and we do not have a voicemail then rattled off a list of her credentials and how long she's been at the bank. She said it's not a big deal will just order you another card and it will be there in a week or two. I said that is a big deal when you run a business and you use that card over 10 times a day. Also, when a business visa card number changes, it's a huge headache with anything that is set up for automatic billing. I asked why they do not print cards at the banks anymore to which she replied "ordering checks and printing cards is below or bankers skill positions and it was really a waste of their time since they are much more qualified. Yet... This is a bank? A few minutes later she came back in her office and in a whisper said that she's training a new girl and she follows everything by the book to a T so she shredded all the cards in the back without checking. I put a two day rush on my card and as I was walking out of her office she again wanted to get the last word in and said "I still don't know who's number you called and left a voicemail for?" 949-255-0850 was the number of the bank and she apparently didn't realize that it had a voicemail set up to it. She had the worst customer service and she was one of the rudest people I've dealt with in a long time. I will now be banking at Wells Fargo, thank you Chase. read more

Waited about 20 minutes for a banker to help me with a wire transfer. Brenda Smith came in smiling saying she'd help me and apologized for the wait. Everything went well; she was helpful and friendly. I also had a problem with my credit card which she helped solved immediately. At first, she told me it wasn't something she could help with and that I would need to call the number on the back of the card (Amazon Prime card). But she decided to call the number her self and do all the work for me! She even had the card expedited to me! I was worried seeing all the other reviews, but my experience was wonderful. The wait is a bit long, so just expect that when coming into this branch. There were 3 other bankers that were busy during the time I was there. read more

I've worked with Brenda (the manager), David (a business banker), and Joana (a personal banker) a few times over the past year. They are always awesome and helpful. The only criticism I have is that this location is always so busy, and the staff has a hard time supporting all of the customers (through no fault of their own - they are always trying their best). I doubt Chase cares about one branch and its customers all that much, but they really should be doing a better job of serving its customers and employees by supporting this location with more staff.
