I've had 3 appointments here and unfortunately my impression is that Dr. Gui doesn't seem to value patients' time and is simply overbooked. For example, today I had a 3:45pm appointment and didn't end up seeing Dr. Gui until 5pm. To be fair, I did need to get my eyes dilated which can take up to 30 minutes so some wait was expected but I, along with multiple other patients, were in the waiting room for roughly 1 hour. This is especially frustrating when your eyes are dilated and your vision is extremely blurry and sensitive to light. And after the hour wait, I was only examined for 5 minutes max so I'm not sure what the hold up was. My other two appointments were similar. On the bright side, I really enjoy the assistants, they are very friendly, attentive, and are the saving grace of Orange Ivy Retina. My suggestions are: If behind schedule, dilate patients closer to the actual examination time or provide eyepatches so patients don't need to strain their eyes so much. You could also hire another doctor or simply don't schedule as many patients in a day. read more

Alright, so I started having eye problems and my optometrist referred me to see Dr. Wayne. This doctor is an ophthalmologist that specializes in retinas and has a lot of degrees from prestigious universities. From my exam he found my problem and explained I needed treatment. I was really sad there was a problem but Dr. Wayne changed my perspective and informed me I should not be sad but feel lucky we caught the pro before it turned into something worse. Overall, I was very happy with my visits and treatment with Dr. Wayne. The office is pretty and the front desk worker is very personable. At beginning of April , my daughter was told by optometrist her retina had tear during annual eye check up. The optometrist referred Dr Wei Gui at Orange IVY Retina for further evaluation. To my surprise, my daughter was able to get the same day appointment with Dr Gui. Dr Gui examined her eyes thoroughly and then explained to us what's happening in details . Since the tore retina can develop retina detachment if leaving untreated so he suggested laser treatment asap . Dr Gui stayed late to perform the laser treatment on my daughter's eye on the same day! I was referred to Dr. Gui, because I had loss of sight because of a detached retina from Hoag Hospital. I was seen the next day (Sunday). He presented me with options that he could do for me based on my diagnosis. He was very kind, attentive and considerate all throughout all of my visits. Dr. Gui did my follow up to my retinal surgery that was done at UCLA. I had a retinal tear while I was in LA so went there since it was close to where I was when the event occurred. I live in Orange County and since Dr Gui was a Fellow at the UCLA Stein Eye Institute, my UCLA surgeon was very comfortable turning me over to his care once the surgery was over so that I didn't have to keep going to LA. I had completed significant research for the best Vitreoretinal Specialist and surgeon in Orange County. I found his reviews and his Biography were very impressive. I had developed a tear in my Macular. It was having a major impact on my right eye.
