I recently hired on Orange Leaf to maintain my pool while out of town for a month and was ecstatic to hear that they could do monthly maintenance along with minor repairs that I knew I needed prior to peak heat arriving. My initial service was great and on time - no hiccups. I continued to check in with the office on a weekly basis as I wasn't receiving e-mail updates about the weekly service being completed and I was assured from the front desk that it was being taken care of - the servicer just hadn't updated the log. Over the course of 4 weeks of being gone, I was notified on the Week 4 service that our pool was green, there was a major leak and there was nothing they could do. Granted, all of this information was given to me by a family member who had been house sitting for us. I immediately called the office and did not get an answer, I then sent them a text requesting a call back ASAP. I contacted my family member to pass the phone onto the service agent and he then informed me that he had NOT serviced my pool for 4 weeks.... So, for the 4 weeks that I had hired them one, no one had serviced my pool which turned it green. A minor repair I had requested prior to leaving had not been repaired, leading to a leak which he stated they could not repair for me. I had paid for the month of service and was assured that my pool was being maintained which all was false. When I brought this up to the front desk assistant she stated there was a "miscommunication" with the service agent and the office and they were "under the assumption" that my pool had been serviced. She then stated that they could no longer take on our account as they could not repair the leak and I would now have to find a new servicer. Keep in mind, all of this was taking place while I was out of town and had entrusted Orange Leaf to care for my pool. I was then stuck finding a new service team to clean the algae from my pool, repair the leak, replace my float valve, repair leaks at the pool pump that now occurred after not being serviced for a month AND a hefty water bill since they left a leak unattended for a month. All in all - I DO NOT RECOMMEND using this company. read more

These are the issues I had during my 7 weeks of service: 1. My baskets were not emptied 2 weeks in a row 2. I told the technician the first week that we had black algae and nothing was done to treat it, even though they charge extra for the first visit, which is supposed to include algaecide. 3. My black algae got worse over the next three weeks and nothing was done to treat it. 4. I contacted the office about issues with black algae, for the first week. They said they would send someone out to treat it but no one came. A week later they finally sent someone who did not treat it properly. So I waited another 4 days (including weekend) for the manager to come out and treat only 2 of the spots. 5. They have repeatedly lied about the pH and chlorine levels of my pool. Before having a pool company I was balancing the pool myself weekly so I have a rough idea of about how many chemicals need to be added in order to keep the pool balanced. The emails I receive will have a chlorine level of four or greater, but I know that's not possible when there is no chlorine in our dispenser and all they've done is add one tab to it. Not one time have they added anything like muriatic acid or soda ash to adjust the pH of our pool. The person who works the front desk is very friendly and helpful, and the texting system that they have is great for communicating with them as well. I genuinely believe that the technician manager wants to treat our pool properly, however, none of the technicians that come to my house actually seem to give a s***. Upon raising my concerns about the differences in my test of the pool water compared with the email they sent me, They did offer to request that the technician take a picture of the test strip next time they came. Small things are being done on behalf of management to make some of these issues right, but I'm tired of having to constantly follow up on issues. Just do the job right the first time. read more

The condition of my pool was neglected for more than a month. Multiple communications with the company did nothing to address the ongoing issues -one of the owners came in person and was shocked about the green condition of the pool, and promised that things would be made all right. However, I was asked to pay for a remedy treatment for a problem that Orange Leaf had created. The following week, though, another "10-minute" technician showed up. After he left, I scooped about 4 pounds of algae from the bottom of the pool. Service had been good for a few months, but after that, they seem not to care anymore. Biggest mistake ever selecting this company to service our pool. The pool is so dirty that our vacuum gets jammed. The cleaner guy doesn't bring the vacuum. So we go weeks with a very dirty pool. On top of that the cleaner has so messed up our automation that our hot-tub is empty. And parts are not working. If you have automation it would be a very bad idea to use this company. If you don't mind your pool being dirty because the automation is so messed up the vacuum isn't working then this is the company for you. read more

When Orange Leaf came out initially to inspect my pool, I advised that there was an issue with my pop-up system. It took approximately three to four months of repeated follow-ups before they addressed the issue. I ran into similar delays when my fill valve needed to be replaced earlier this year. The replacement, which should take 15-20 minutes, was not done for several months. In the meantime, Orange Leaf shut the auto-leveler, which caused the water level to drop and the pump not to prime. And advised that I needed to fill the pool with a hose. Most recently, Orange Leaf has advised that its "company policy" not to do anything other than add chemicals due to today's weather. This is the second time this has happened in the last two weeks. I should also note that the agreement provides that they will vacuum the pool, but this is rarely done. read more

I provided a 5 star as the company started off with good customer service based off phone interactions and my pool inspection prior to purchase of the home however the actual service has been non-existent. I have paid over $500 with the goal of having a clean pool and to be heated but rather than that goal we have dealt with 3 weeks of a pool guy popping in and out with no communication and each time saying he needs me to buy another part and our pool has not been habitable yet. Like most all of the other recent reviews, They started out strong and repeatedly failed, not only with service but communication. They are obviously having staffing problems but that shouldn't be my problem, especially for what we've been paying for service. The different pool techs who came out to service the pool were pleasant, I just questioned their ability to deal with simple pool chemistry. Our pool was swamp green for three weeks straight and they couldn't get a handle on it so we called our old pool service, who unfortunately retired, but when he saw the condition of the pool,he came out and had the pool cleared up and swimmable within two days. To make things worse when they were servicing the pool they dislodge one of the pool drains and promised to reattach it but never did. Just disappointing all around. He was as shocked as me that the people I had talked to hadn't tried to keep my business and said he was going to talk to his boss. He did a great job on my pool and said he could be the one to do my pool every week and that he hoped I'd remain a customer. This morning I got a call from a different person at the company. She was very nice and expressed a desire to keep my business. She said she didn't know what happened as she usually is the one who talks to the customers. The last 2 times I watched what their people did on security cameras I put up. Last week the guy spent the entire 15 minutes he was here waving the leaf bag across the top of the water in one end of the pool. NOTHING ELSE. Of course I got a picture from them showing the pool looking good and sayig they put in chemicals but I knew better because of the camera. This week the guy did more. He did put in chemicals, his brushing consisted of brushing the tile along the water line and not the walls of the pool. After he left I saw that there were air bubbles coming up in my pool. He hadn't put the lid to the pump motor back on correctly and it was sucking air. There were tons of leaves in the shallow end of my pool and my pool cleaner was leaving visible paths as it went along. I had texted them that it looked awful and I wondered if the pool was set for the correct amount of run time for the cleaner to get the job done. The picture I received looked like it was fine but the picture was taken from a distance and tilted. I sent them pictures, told them what had happened and how unhappy I was with their service. Since I had to sign a contract stating I'd give notice before terminating their service I asked when I needed to do it and how much time it would take as I needed to look for a different company. They responded that the guy from the one week had been terminated after many complaints. There was a different person at my house every week even though they had said it would be the same one each time. One guy left the key to the back yard in the door. Their response to my complaint and pictures was that I didn't have to wait any amount of time. They had taken me off their books as they didn't want me if I was unhappy with them. No attempt to try and keep me as a customer. Why wouldn't a legitimate company at least say they were really sorry and if I stayed with them would see that I received good service from now on. Instead I now have to scramble to find a different service RIGHT AWAY since they left my pool so dirty. The pictures the techs take are useless as they'll take them at angles or parts that look good not at how the pool really looks. We just had to ask a tech to leave our property because he tried to ask us to break the law and drain our pool into the street even after we showed him the documentation from the city of Phoenix that it was illegal to do so. The tech also stated he had never seen the correct way to drain a pool (also on the documentation from the city). This was AFTER we were bumped days, and told we would be drained in the AM and the tech did not show up until 2:30pm.
