Was looking for somewhere to have an inexpensive dinner while waiting for a movie to start. This place was open til 8 which was perfect. I had a delicious Greek chicken wrap that was fresh, tasty and big enough for lunch the following day. My friend enjoyed her grilled cheese and fruit and avocado salad. I stopped in unexpectedly thanks to nature's call and for that I am glad. The scope here is amazing. It's a convenience store/weighted buffet that also has made to order food and liquor/beer. One thing to note on the beer is that its not single serving. The made to order section also has a lot to offer: bubble tea, coffee bar, boar's head deli, breakfast, hot/cold sandwiches, wraps, paninis, burritos/quesadillas AND Korean food. I tried the Bi Bim Bap and its tasty and a very large portion for the price. I have no idea what the buffet is like as it was closed when I got here but judging by the prepped salads they had by it, I'd come check it out next time I'm out this way. I had the bibimbop ($5.99) and my friend had teriyaki chicken ($8.99). Both were delicious and had generous portions. I asked for my meal to go on lettuce instead of rice and the lady behind the counter cheerfully obliged. My friend and I had no trouble finding a quiet table to sit at. I like this place because its very close to my job BUT the prices are crazy expensive!! I haven't had a bad sandwich from here which is why I am willing to give it 3 stars HOWEVER please keep the small gnats and other flying bugs away from the salad bar...thats gross!!! Either keep the fruit and pastries covered in the morning so the gnats can't land on them or stop serving it. Its very disappointing when I have my eyes set on a chocolate donut and see the gnats sitting on top of it waiting to greet me instead. they charge way to much money for there to be gnats flying around...but the rest of the place seems to be clean. read more

Finally a place that has variety in West End DC! Seriously overpriced buffet bar, but great selection of food. I'm a HUGE fan of their Bubble Tea, even if it does cost $5. Be prepared to spend $10+ when visiting Orange Spoon. The buffet section is alright, but I think where OS shines is when they make their wraps and Sandwiches with Boar's Head meats. The only issue after that is that everything is a la carte. So I'll put it this way, spend $6 for a sandwich, $2 for a bag of chips, and another $2 for a water or drink. At the end of the day, I'll walk a few more blocks to get a deli sandwich from one of the many other sandwich shops in DC. read more

Pros: Deli with all the fixings - sandwiches, salad bar, grill, and Korean food. Also a nice selection of wines and spirits. Many of the staff are limited English speakers so patience is needed in communicating with them. Owner treats the staff seemingly well. Cons: Hidden by surrounding construction. read more

I was visiting DC with my daughter and read a few good reviews about this place so we decided to try it for dinner. No no no. Do not go here. It is a small grocery store with a sandwich counter and small. Buffet. We walked in at 530 on a Monday night and the buffet was cleaned up and empty. Im only reviewing my bubble smoothie experience here. Been looking for a good bubble smoothie place in DC. Passed this place on my way home and decided to stop. I ordered a strawberry-mango smoothie with bubbles added. I verified they use fresh fruit, they owner said they do. The woman making my smoothie was clearly unaware of this because she initially told me no. The woman took an unusually long time to make my smoothie. I saw her asking a co-worker to come over and help. I saw them dumping more ice and that artificial strawberry powder stuff into the blender (she did also use fruit to be fair-- I saw her... but very little) and trying to stir the blender contents with a spoon. I knew this wouldnt end well. VERDICT: Smoothie was an unnaturally bright red color and tasted like ice and that powder stuff. It also had little chunks of unblended ice that would crunch between my teeth. The worst part-- 1/2 the bubbles were basically uncooked, 1/4 partially cooked and the last 1/4 cooked/overcooked and mushy. The bubbles were also sickenly sweet... like someone dumped in a whole bag of sugar in when they were cooking. Was totally disgusting. I tried to stomach the smoothie because the owner was so friendly and nice, but after drinking about an 1/8 of it I turned around and took it back and requested a refund. I told the owner what was wrong with it. She was super apologetic and promptly refunded me, and I saw her speaking sternly to the woman who made my smoothie. The smoothie was atrocious but everything else there looked really good and the owner is friendly, professional and amazing. My one-star rating is only for my smoothie experience. I would definitely go back there, just not for a smoothie or any bubble drink. read more

It's hard to justify giving such a high rating to a buffet lunch spot. But compared to similar spots, they have a wide selection, keep the place clean, and have a spacious set-up so you have some room to move around. Aside from the buffet, they also have a deli, and surprisingly, a little grocery section - including wine, beer and alcohol. read more

I went into the store for the grand opening, I immediately decided to try the salad bar. I got some strawberries, grapes, and a mix with melon/kiwi/apples. The fruit was very fresh, the strawberries are so sweet and the grapes too. I had a good experience with their fruit. Then I moved to the hot bar, I had some pretty good Sea food Alfredo, the 4 cheese macaroni and cheese however was far too salty for me. I saw their drink counter and noticed the usual, soda fountain/coffee, but it was nice to see some tea even if it wasn't a huge variety. Lastly I wanted to try a sandwich, once I had the box the sandwich was in it said 'Proud user of Boars head' if you know boars head its probably one of the best cold cuts you can get around here. The sandwich was great overall and I was satisfied with the workers and the owners/manager all very friendly and nice. I will have to try more of the Hot bar and sandwiches next time because they seemed to be great! read more

The food from the grill is pretty good but they put way too many onions in the items in the buffet; ie. the seafood rice should be called seafood onions... The breakfast from the grill, and the salad bar is also pretty solid. I go often, but skip the buffet. read more

I have not eaten at this place, but have ordered bubble teas 3 separate times. The first one was good, but I have noticed that the quality from the first to the third has dramatically changed. The last one (yes, this will be the last one I pay $5 for) was so sweet that it was inedible and the size was smaller (served in a different size cup). Yes, I did ask why it was smaller, but was assured it wasn't. Also, it seems that every time I order one of these it's a completely foreign concept and I have to wait on someone who knows how to make one to actually come over and make it. I'm not sure how this reflects on their food, but if you like me were excited about their bubble tea, you should go somewhere else. It's not worth the very expensive amount. read more

This place is a rip off. They charge extra for mayo and extra for what type of roll you have your sandwich on. A small cup of fruit will cost you $10. They nickel and dime you for everything they can. And food is mediocre. Been there twice and it is a rip off.
