The staff goes above and beyond, Tammy and Sara in housekeeping are so wonderful not only do they do a great job in keeping the apartments clean but go above and beyond. The residents are friendly, a lot of different activities and things to do. The kitchen staff is great, the food is good. I would recommend Marian Oakland to any senior and to their families.

Here at Marian Oakland we have one the best marketers in the world!!! Not only is she a great marketer she is also a great mentor, mother figure, friend, and a person who gives our residents great assistance when needed. Our meals are prepared by a well rounded kitchen staff who promotes customer service and being the best at providing exceptional service to exceptional residents and customers. Being the chef here at Marian Oakland has been challenging at time but its well worth it when you get positive feed back from those who appreciate what we do. I enjoyed hearing songs from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Some were done well by amateurs like me, and there were also several professional level performances of Some Enchanted Evening, At Last, and Fire. Host Jennifer also has a professional quality voice for songs like Up Where We Belong and Journey's classic hits.

We needed to help a dear friend move to a memory care facility in summer of 2019. We searched,…read morevisited, and interviewed sites. We were so grateful to find St. Anne's Mead on 12 Mile in Southfield. There are various approaches to memory care but we really like SAM's approach the best. They utilize an approach called Best Buddy...where SAM actually hires someone to keep the seniors engaged informally. They have PT and OT of course elsewhere, but I love that this person's main role is to sit with a resident to share a cup of coffee or visit with someone alone on a couch, etc. The Program Director has a very sweet little dog she brings 3 days a week and the residents light up when they get to hold or pet her. The staff are all very respectful of the residents and do seem to like them greatly. They have many activities scheduled throughout the day so there is no sitting and staring at the television for hours. Their meals are delicious. As noted by other reviewers, the building is an old-style nursing home, but the interactions, smiles, and kind staff make it a very hospitable place. The memory care unit was recently renovated with nice size rooms and large private half-baths (showers without assistance can be quite dangerous for seniors with memory issues). They have their own dining area and integrate into the activities of the larger facility as much as possible. Don't be put off that the building is from the 1960's. It has everything you will need for quality care for your loved one who is struggling with memory issues.

While the building is on the older side, the staff at St. Anne's was absolutely fabulous. My mother had the opportunity to return to the senior living apartment as she got stronger, but she didn't want to. She was happy staying with the wonderful people at St. Anne's. My mother passed away this week, but I am very thankful for the staff at St. Anne's helping make her last year as pleasant as possible. Thank you.

We are told many things about what should happen and see less of these services provided to her. Pricing for level care goes up while the care level goes down. Not what we were explained when we signed her up under Provisions. Then Story Point took over and all these changes have occurred and not for the good of our Mom.

Under provisions there were a few quirks but over all the residents seemed to be cared for. Now that Story Point has acquired the business things are changing but don't seem to be for the better. There has pretty much always been general house keeping issues but now there are care issues. There have been issues with her falling with irregular decisions on sending her to the emergency room weather she needs it or not. The new issue is her eating, my sister walked in found her sleeping covered in food with the bowl and more soup on the floor. They informed her earlier that if my mother needs help they will not help her. Earlier this week my other sister was helping my mother and she was informed that she did not need too that the staff would take care of it. Which one is it ? what do they consider assisted living?
