The first night I…read morearrived after-hours, frazzled and heart beating in my chest, she coldly opened the doors for me when the automatic opener didn't work, then coldly marched down the long corridors in silence- obviously annoyed that she had to leave her desk. I have caught her gossiping negatively with other staff members who, though mostly lovely, seem intimidated and unduly influenced by her military style meanness. There is very little family support at the Waterford facility (grief counseling once a month) and adding an unwelcoming, unkind personality to the mix during an already stressful and surreal experience is too much to deal with. There's a reason for the saying ''one bad apple spoils the bunch.'' She seems to be a ringleader... and her energy is a downer.

It is a place for Moms run by an amazing woman manager... Kelley . The staff is all women and some of the most caring and compassionate women I have ever met. They not only gave Mom great care..and saw to it that she had everything that she needed, and wanted, but they were there for me as well. To say they went above and beyond in both Mom's and my care is an understatement. I literally could not have gone through that final journey if it weren't for them. From the first day that I went there to scout the place.. to today, they have been with me every step. Including attending her Celebration of Life in October and sending me a Christmas card on my first Christmas without her. They were my saving Grace!! Mom passed peacefully in their care in August. I'm so glad that I chose them to care for her, so that I could be her daughter, and not her caregiver for those final months.I can't possibly list all the reasons that I recommend this AMAZING place. My many heartfelt thanks to Kelley, the ladies that cared for Mom and to Shannon. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for caring for the Moms, including mine. Kim was always incredibly responsive and flexible. My mom loved Kim and was very happy with the service and oversight she provided of the caregivers that were sent to her home. Choice Senior Home Care specializes in long term care and getting consistent caregivers in the home that make your loved one feel safe and comfortable. Ultimately, my mom didn't need long term care but I would always consider going back to them if she ever does, and I would recommend them to my Michigan friends and family.
