Richmond is better than the DC area In that places are reasonably distanced away and you dont have to worry about traffic being a deterrent to go farther distances. I found this place through Yelp after going bust on a salon near my apartment that was appointment only and decided to drive out to try them out. I was seen to immediately by Karen for a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. Nails all look great and well done so I can look presentable. $55 is a reasonable price for the services. I'm not impressed. My daughter's nails immediately peeled off within an hour of leaving, probably because the technician didn't do a sufficient base layer. I expected better for a $30 kid's pedicure. The basin doesn't come with a plastic liner--I prefer ones that do because it seems cleaner. My toes were a tiny bit sloppy with some polish on the skin. All of the workers and owner here are very kind and hardworking. I always go to Solyda and she always remembers what we talked about last time and keeps conversation or can read it id prefer to relax. She is the only tech I will let do my toenails and if I ask for something she's never done before, she tries anyways and will keep redoing it until she feels good about it. Sometimes I think a design looks great and she won't be happy. She's a perfectionist! A very nice and clean establishment. I was specific in what I asked for but the technician either didn't understand or didn't want to do what I asked for. I don't know the process so I really didn't know she wasnt doing what I asked for until the other technician noticed. I'm not displeased with what I received. Also I wasnt offered options with my pedicure. I was also upcharged for a service that normally comes with a basic pedi. It was my first time trying this location. So I have a couple of nail salons that I tend to frequent when I need a pedicure. Trying a new place can be scary... but with limited time on my hands this past Friday, I decided to look for a salon closer to me than the other salons are. Of course, I pull out my phone and click on my Yelp app to see what my options are! I was looking for a clean facility, good work, friendly staff, and prices that were on par with other salons that I've been to. Once I saw that this salon met those requirements, I hopped in my car to go there! I arrived about 40 minutes before they were closing, which I thought would be enough time for a pedicure. I was greeted when I walked in, asked what service I would like, and told to pick out the nail polish color I'd like. The place was laid out very nicely. Things looked new and clean. Once I selected my color, a lady signaled me over to one of the massage chairs. As I got in the massage chair, it was definitely a little more comfy than the ones I've been in. And the settings worked really well, as some places I've been seemed to be older and not all the massage options on the remote worked. But not here, it was excellent! The lady was very nice and did my pedicure in a good amount of time and did an excellent job! I will definitely be returning to this salon and I'll post more pics next time! :) read more

They squeezed me in on a busy day, which I appreciated! The place looks nice and super clean. Karen did my mani and she was friendly and asked questions throughout the procedure to make sure I was happy with the shape and color of my gel nails. She even squeezed in a polish change for my toe nails as they were too busy for a full pedicure. Very happy with the results. Prices were reasonable (although I'm used to DC prices so you should not take my word for it lol). Overall, a nice and relaxing experience. Will be coming back. This is my favorite place to get my nails done. The place is clean and doesn't smell like chemicals. The girls are so friendly and fun to talk to. Sivorn has done my nails twice and she is very careful, never rushes and really pays attention to the details. They look so so good! They don't have wine like some other salons so if you really want that then it's not for you, but I don't care. I visited today on a whim. I have needed a pedicure and my eyebrows done for quite some time and from previous reviews I thought I'd give them a shot. I was greeted and seated immediately and my pedicure was excellent. The technician was thorough and fast and my toes look wonderful. Afterward I got my eyebrows cleaned up and the young lady that did the waxing was attentive and sweet. My brows have not looked this great in quite some time. Came in for a pedicure with a friend. The pedicure itself was great, the technician was very sweet and attentive. The reasoning for the 1 star is because of a few things I observed. They have you come in mask on and wash your hands. HOWEVER, they are not following COVID guidelines and maintaining customers and technicians 6 feet apart. I noticed the stations were separated slightly but definitely not 6 feet apart and just about every manicure station was full. I did appreciate them using a disposable file and buffer. Would come again in a non COVID world, they seem to care more about taking as many clients as possible than the health of their clients and technicians. read more

Worst nail place ever! Pedicure was so simple felt rushed! They didn't take their time. On top of that they messed up my eyebrows.

Called on Thursday to schedule an appointment on Saturday at 1:30. Arrive Saturday 1:32pm, at this time I was asked what I needed, I then stated I had an appt at 1:30. I was told to wash my hands sign in and have a seat. After 30 minutes sitting, the nail tech asked my name verified in the schedule book that no appointment is written down for me. I then showed her where I called on Thursday in my call log to schedule the appointment, she responds okay but yet instructed another customer to follow her back to the pedicure chair. No apology or estimated time provided prior to walking away to begin servicing the other client. Needless to say I left and will never return to this establishment. read more

Yesterday was my first visit at Orchid Nail &Spa. The inside looked really nice and I was greeted nicely at first. But they told me that they couldn't take me at the moment and if it's okay to come back in an hour. Which I did and went to this tech which I was little weary about.. I showed her the picture of what I wanted my nails to be which those pictures are what they posted on yelp.. so I assume it would be designed the same way. Well that was a disappointment. My oval shape wasn't as rounded as it should be. The tech kept asking me if they look okay... at that point I figured just to go along with it and I wanted to get out bc the seating was uncomfortable. However, I would give her credit with doing the ombré design but shaping was not the way I wanted.. She was a nice lady but over hearing another tech not sure if she was the owner but was saying how she went to NJ casinoto gamble and all... but then next min she was complaining about supplies and how they increase the rates for getting mask and gloves.. But in my head it's okay for you to go out of town and spend your money to gamble... that just doesn't make sense or to have a reason for charging your customer 3% for using a credit card transaction. Which led me to put this review in because I am disappointed to hear that they are charging us to use credit card transaction which honestly, it's not a big deal for me but hearing what that tech said out loud about gambling... I am going to take my money else where especially what's happening around the pandemic... It's a shame that no other nail salon had ever charged me 3% transaction fee. My 3 stars goes to the tech which she did the ombré style nicely but overall experience deserve 2 or 3. read more
