I visited here today with my mother and I got dip nails for the first time. Great experience overall. We had a reservation for 215, and we were promptly attended to. This is my mother's favorite local salon, and she comes frequently to work with Lilly. This is maybe the second time that I've come with her to this salon. My nails were really in terrible shape when Tiffany got them, and she did a great job. I love my nail color. The salon has a very good energy, and everyone seems happy to be working there. I used to come here back in 2019 and see Helen (I think that was her name) and it was pretty good. This time though, no. Stay away. First, she used a drill on my nails and cuticles. She followed by completely butchering my cuticles until some of them were bleeding. But wait, there's more! I picked a color, but it was brighter than I realized so I asked to change it. This seemed to annoy her, as if I'm inconveniencing her in some way. I pointed to a nice muted pink color to switch to. I don't know what happened, but she did not come back with pink. She didn't wait to see if that was the color she just went and started painting, and was seemingly impatient. I didn't want to deal with her huffing and puffing anymore so I just stuck with the color. Overall, a terrible experience. I don't know what happened during the pandemic, but this place is not what it used to be. It's a hazard. AND, on top of all of that, my gel polish didn't even last a week before it chipped. The place is a general health hazard between them butchering people's nails, lack of sanitation of their tools, and the toxic fumes from what must be their lack of reasonable ventilation. Please just find someplace less... infectious. read more

Decided to try this spot out a few months back and I am so happy I did. They are conveniently located in a shopping plaza that I can get everything done in and the staff is pleasant. They are priced very similar to other nail spots in the area and have a ton of polishes to choose from. So you can find the perfect shade of any color. I am happy with my nails and how well they hold up. I am hard on my nails so having place that I know will do quality work matters. Don't waste your money. Won't be returning. No attention to detail, sloppy work. Sustained several cuts from cuticle trimming that were ignored despite bleeding, and then sprayed with rubbing alcohol. Didn't realize just how bad my nails looked until I was outside and saw all the lumps and air bubbles and missed areas of paint. They offer a few add on services that warrant some recognition (1 star for that) like hot stone massage during pedicures and a variety of scented lotions for massage. read more

Bad , worst pedicure I have ever had 17 min with the lotion ... 3 seconds foot file and when I ask for mechanical file she was very surprised and did it for about 1 min .... Dip nails went from 35$ that is already steep price to 5$extra for tips . They will not get my business . This place doesn't even deserve a half of star. Horrible. Went last week for the first time after moving to the area. I made an apt, I had to wait. Then the woman started my nails, didn't ask my name or tell me hers. No sooner did she start, she was then on her phone and stopped doing my nails and then just go up and left. Then another woman came to pick up, then the first woman came back. She changed the shape of my nails, didn't fix one that was broken. I now have a horrible break since it wasn't fixed and two others have broken and it's been less than a week. I'm mad I paid for this service as it was very badly done and now I have three broken nails and a shape I didn't want. I will not ever return to this salon. read more

Not at all happy with either the mani or pedi received today. Had to reshape my fingernails myself. They were literally crooked. Could rank as the worst of each ever. Or close to. Worse was the lack of attention and customer service we experienced. I get it-the shop is busy -but customers should be treated as though they matter-regardless of their age. Should I ever be in the area again and in need of either service, I will be sure to use the salon on the other side of 70. read more

My initial appointment was fine, and my nails came out pretty. I was charged $60 for this set (because it took clear acrylic tips and tiny sequins, I guess), and tipped my technician $20. I was happy for 2 days, and then a nail tip actually popped right off as I was getting into bed. I also have a growing crack on the tip of another nail, that I'm sure will end up breaking off soon. I have no problem admitting when I break a nail.. I can be hard on them.. but this time was not that! Pulling back bed sheets is a ridiculous reason for a nail to break. None of this was even really the problem... when I went back to have it repaired (again, after only 2 days.. Sunday to Tuesday), I received THE WORST nail service I've ever gotten. Not only does the repaired nail not look like the others, but the technician was SO LAZY and literally didn't take a brush to my nail or an electric file. She literally TAPPED the acrylic powder onto my nails, and barely filed it by hand (she lied right to my face and told me it's a new way of them doing things). The nail is not clear like the others, it's white, and the technician tried to fix it by putting a few more decals on top, but then did not put any acrylic over the decals, so I don't believe that they will last very long. They LOOK SO CHEAP this way. Also, the nail is thick and very uneven... It's wavy, and it's noticeable. I pointed it out to the technician and asked her to fix it, and she basically said "OK", but then ignored me and chose to just not do it. I didn't have any more time to sit and have her take it all off for her to start over, and truthfully, I no longer felt confident that it would come out looking the way I wanted it to. read more

Great place! Came in on a Saturday at 6:00 (they close at 6:30) and they were still with people and first told me they wouldn't be able to do me. Well, they had pity on me and ended up staying late and doing my nails. So nice! Nick was awesome! He was so nice and my gel finger nails look great! When I originally was told they couldn't do me, I was on the verge of tears because I am leaving for vacation early tomorrow morning and I am *pretty sure* my boyfriend and I are getting engaged this week...so of course I have to have my nails lookin' good sporting my new ring! I very rarely write a review and tip 20-30% always. However I had an awful experience today at this salon. I had a pedi today and they cut my toe nails very short. The left toenail was slanted and I asked them to fix it. The right foot toenail cracked while she cut it and when fixing it she made the nail very short and not squared off. I asked them repeatedly to try and fix it. After three attempts to fix it I had to leave. I explained how disappointed I was and that I'd need to go get this fixed tomorrow but they still insisted on being paid. It's really not about the money. It's about doing a good job and when you don't taking ownership and apologizing. I will NEVER be back. read more

I really like this place and so does many others as it is frequently crowded. Recommend making a reservation. Nice staff. Pleasant surroundings. Fair prices. Tons of colors to pick from. Horrible experience today. Pedicure: nail edges left rough and sharp. Then with my manicure (regular polish) the woman had to redo them THREE times due to using the wrong top coat at first, followed by her trying to fix it with a botch job, cutting me horribly, and then finally doing a decent job. Orchids Spa & Nails has no sense of integrity. If you are looking for a good job with quality polish DO NOT go here you will be disappoint. Most of their regular and gel nail polish are old or either added thinner. They take short cuts when doing gel mani they use the gel polish but not the actual steps of gel liquid nor the powder application first causing to ruin your nail bed!! They convince you to shortened your nails because the bare nails cannot handle any length. I miss the previous owner. read more

Ok so I've been coming to orchids for about 3 years now and have always had a great experience, the last 3 times I've gone I've had an issue with somethings, cleanliness is one of them. I went to put my feet in the water and they have the little plastic baggie in the bottom of it but I could feel grains of something in it. Even before she started doing anything or put anything in there. Then when she was scrubbing my feet with a scrubber brick she pulled it out of the drawer and there was stuff on it. Not to mention she scraped the top of all my toes on my right foot. She used tools that were sitting on the desk thing next to her and they didn't come out of a package like they normally do. I've never had this lady do my pedicures before nor have I ever seen her there before. Besides cleanliness they are very pushy to make me want to pay more then I ask. I always ask for straight gel and the cheapest pedicure there is. I don't need all the extra stuff from the other pedicures. But they kept asking and asking if I wanted the OPI pedicure and I kept telling them I was fine with the $25. Then I asked them if they could take off the rest of my acrylics and she said yes that's fine. But she never ended up doing it. I had to use the rest room and when I came back out she was sitting at a desk with head phones in doing her nails and watching something on her phone. And she still charged me for getting acrylics off. I was not very please. The woman I had was very aggressive on my feet and kept ripping skin off of the side of my big toe I pulled away multiple times and I guess she didn't get the hint. That what she was doing was painful. She sprayed my feel with rubbing alcohol and oh boy did that burn like a b*tch. I said that stings a little and she just wiped it off but didn't apologize which to me isn't good customer service. Like I said before I never have a problem here up until recently. Today was my 5th visit to this nail salon and it is definitely my last. I accidentally discovered them last winter because they're right next to the DMV and I needed a refill. My excellent nail technician was no longer at Orchids when I went back a couple of weeks later and the new person talked me into switching from gel to dip. OK, I did and it was fine. I had the same person the next time and another dip. However, then everything shut down for COVID and I found out that the dip manicure doesn't last. All the nails had fallen off within 3-4 weeks. When things opened back up, I went back but couldn't remember the person's name so I got put with someone else and I decided again to give the dip another chance. BAD DECISION! They were starting to lift before even 2 weeks and were falling off soon after. I had to glue most of them back on to keep up appearance before I got there again. Today, I nail tech spent 45 minutes removing the dip nails. SERIOUSLY?? Then she started putting stuff on my nails for my manicure but it wasn't the gel stuff that I wanted so it took her another half hour to take that off and start on what I really wanted. Then we came to the color. I should have just stuck with French but, alas, I decided to branch out. My nail tech gave me 1 set of samples to look at and I mentioned that I was looking for a frosted polish and all she had to offer was a glittery top coat. NOT! So, I selected a color and she put on the first coat and made the mistake of asking me if I liked it. No, I didn't. The tech in the next booth said there were a lot of other choices and a lot of frosted colors but they brought me 1 (ONE!!) color and said it would work with what was already on my nails. I kept asking to see the other colors. They kept asking if I like the nails. I kept saying I don't understand why I can't just see the other colors. They kept ignoring me. At one point, my nail tech started to say something about next time I'm there and I said there won't be a next time. Just finish and let me out of here. The whole mess cost me $55 + tip and nearly 2 hours. There is no way I will go back there again!!! read more

I got a regular manicure and less than 24 hours later the nail polish peeled off on one finger and less than 48 hours later the nail polish peeled off on another finger. The polish was OPI. I think the culprit is the base coat. I have to assume that they buy cheap base coat. I won't return :( read more

such a bad experience today. i've never felt so rushed in all my life. the nail women kept burning the side of my fingers while filing my acrylics. she put the nail polish on my nails but forgot to smooth them out first so she used a napkin to wipe off the nail polish. she also didn't file them so the sides of my nails are so sharp. i've never been so disappointed. this place has really changed since the last time i went a year or two ago. read more

The nail tech tried to accuse me of not paying attention to the light on her stupid station for the gel polish..saying "oh you need to pay attention it wasn't on" excuse me? Last time I checked that's your job to make sure everything works on YOUR nail station.. Regularly come here, and most of the time, they do a good job. But their gel polish does not last longer than one week before it starts to peel off. Not sure if it is their process or the brand they use but might have to start looking around for a different place. I always get gel manicures and it should be at least 3 week wear time before it gets nasty. read more

They make you wait forever when they should just tell you to come back or make an appointment for a later time. I've seen them do this to people on several occasions and have witnessed several angry customers for waiting over forty five minutes to be serviced. They let one woman walk out after saying she brought them many people to their business and she would not be returning again. They did not even acknowledge her speaking to them! Every time I get a spa pedicure they manage to skimp out on something that is promised in the description. I am paying fifty dollars for the same services in a regular pedicure! You have to fight them to put more polish on your nails so the manicure/pedicure lasts longer than a week. I have come here several times hoping for a better experience but I am beyond disappointed. Most importantly, my credit card information was stolen from here and I will not be returning. They are beyond unprofessional and cheap. read more
