Chem-Dry charged me for professional carpet cleaning and three gallons of its specialized P.U.R.T. urine treatment for a tiny 10-by-10-foot bedroom. The result? The carpet looked dirtier, the urine odor was completely unchanged, and the company's customer service was every bit as ineffective as the cleaning. The technician initially claimed that this approximately 100-square-foot room needed six gallons of P.U.R.T. I reluctantly paid for three gallons because of the excessive added cost. Despite this supposedly substantial treatment, there was not even a minimal reduction in odor after the carpet had fully dried. When I called to report the failed service, the representative's response was essentially that the technician was experienced, so there was nothing they were willing to do. She promised to speak with him and call me back. She never did. Chem-Dry then stopped answering and returning my calls entirely. Since Chem-Dry apparently had no interest in either fixing the problem or standing behind its work, I purchased my own product and treated the room myself. Approximately one gallon of Rocco & Roxie eliminated the odor that three gallons of Chem-Dry's expensive "professional" treatment had failed to improve at all. So, to summarize: Chem-Dry left my carpet looking worse, failed to reduce the odor, sold me an extraordinary amount of treatment for a very small room, ignored my complaint, broke its promise to follow up, and left me to pay more money and do the job myself. The only thing Chem-Dry successfully removed was money from my bank account. I would not recommend this company to anyone who expects clean carpet, effective odor treatment, responsive customer service, or accountability when the service fails. read more

They offer some good discounts but I would stick with them regardless because of the quality of their work and the professionalism of their staff. Tons of water sitting in our carpet and pad, they acknowledged that there was a problem and then refused to give any money off the bill. We had a couple rooms and stairs to clean, so a smaller job. The cleaning crew was on time and got started right away. They were done in 40 minutes or less and left. 5 hours later we realized there was a ton of water still in the carpet. We pulled every towel out of our linen closet and absorbed as much as we could. It took us an hour and a half to do this. Still very damp when we went to bed at midnight- 9 hours later! We had fans going all night and the manager came back out 24 hours after the service and he admitted it was still damp and should not have been. Both the person on the phone and the manager who came out admitted something had gone wrong, that it was not normal. When I called back the next day, the woman on the phone denied there was a problem (that had been acknowledged a day before by both her and the manager) and wouldn't give us any money back. Complete refusal. They wanted to come back out and do more to our carpets, but we didn't trust the company at this point. I do not recommend this service. read more

I contacted ChemDry to clean my light-colored carpets . I was able to get an appointment the following day. I had never before used this company but wanted a cleaning without a lot of excess water. ChemDry uses much less water so the drying time is less than half of a regular steam-cleaning. They arrived on time and were both courteous and professional. They finished the job in less than an hour and a half. Kudos to BJ and Christian who were the techs who did the job. I would use them again and highly recommend the company. True story. Appt set for arrival 2-5:00 p.m. I come home at 1:55. They've called (use land line) and left a message at 12:45 saying job before me is finished and asking if they can come at that time. Since I'm not home to hear message, I don't call back but await their arrival. Finally at 4:00 I call them. They're not coming since I didn't call them back. Their argument was that they had already come. They proceeded to blame me for not calling. They didn't listen to me at all when I explained I couldn't call them back since I wasn't home. I never have gone thru so much hassle and time, I called them due to a party foul on the carpet and so they sent out someone, told them I would run up the street to shop while they clean my carpets, not even 25/30 min later they're done, I think yea right, come home it looks nice till I walk into my hall and there are sticky crusty spots all over the carpet and splashed up onto my baseboards/walls, so now im like great my brand new carpet that was installed 1 year ago is already to crap, keep in mind I never wear shoes in my house or eat outside the dining area so nothing else could be there in the padding or fibre to be pulled up. I called them back saying they messed up my carpet to be be told "yea im not sure what that is ive been working here 15 years and we only use a organic solution so it can't do that" they sent the same guy back bc I insisted they were wrong and it was due to their equipment, he gets here and tells me to my face "yea my canister started to spray foamy spots but I figured it'd come out after extraction" so aha! They admit its them, he gives it a scrub over and he leaves next day, spots are back and more crusty. Call them, get passively told im wrong AGAIN and I ask for a refund at this point, but no they insist I have a "manager come out" they sent 2 maybe 19-20yr olds to my house and they were not managers i was informed, they hand scrub over the spots again and leave, ofc that isn't going to do it if their extractor didn't.. next day crusty and spotty, called them again at this point im fed up said "you didn't send out a manager like promised and insisted to send more ppl instead of refunding me $100" they get all passive with me and we go back n 4th to come to the conclusion of yet AGAIN sending out another manager with "20yrs" experience, he comes out, cuts a carpet fibre to take it for "testing to see what it could be" im just thinking how damn ridiculous all this is rather than refunding my $100 like lets keep returning using gas and company time, and now let's take fibre for testing, basically trying to prove me wrong after their own employee told me it was their fault.. so I dont hear back for maybe 2 weeks. Called them said "whats the deal, I want my money back" at this point the lady goes into defensive mode and starts telling me their 30 day guarantee period for me is over and they never found out anything on the fibre and that they can't refund me because they did "all they could" I was Furious! So all I got from this company was to be jerked around and played stupid for and never got a resolution, DONT I MEAN DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH THESE PEOPLE. they will call you a liar and F*** up your carpets while their at it. read more

I realized I was remiss for not providing this review sooner. I bought a "new" home "completely" remodeled but realized my dogs were following scent trails and rolling In many carpet areas. It took a week for me to start smelling dog and cat urine in numerous areas. The carpet looked okay but was cheap and light in color. I called Chem Dry out to do a urine test and get an honest opinion. I needed to know could the odors be removed and what it would cost. The representatives who came out said that the staining was so extensive and the carpet quality so poor, it wasn't worth cleaning nor could they guarantee a good result. Thank you for your honesty! We called Chemdry to clean three bedrooms in our rental house. They charged $150, to clean the carpets, and the carpets looked just as bad after they finished. We paid them thinking they might look better after they dried, but no.... so a couple of days later we rented a rug doctor at Safeway and did the carpets ourselves. The amount of dirt we pulled from the carpet was astounding and the carpets now look pretty good. When approached for a refund, Oregon Chemdry said they would do nothing to compensate us because they didn't get a chance to come back and re-clean it. 1). Do it right the first time 2) when you are told that we were able to do a better job ourselves, what good what it do to re-clean the carpets. Our time and money was wasted.... my recommendation is avoid chem dry, they only touch the top surface and do nothing to pull ground in dirt . We just got our sofa cleaned and Juan did a GREAT job! It didn't have any stains, but had gone through several moves and just needed a good cleaning. I am only giving 1 star because it won't let me give zero stars. This company has the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. The owner Mike is uncommunicative, lacks respect, and is overall inconsiderate and will only believe his employees without even entertaining the customers side of things. Plus, they charge $450 to "clean" your tile flooring!! That's outrageous. They also make you pay prior to the work being done. We hired Oregon Chem Dry to clean and seal our kitchen tile flooring. We have two dogs and a toddler so our floors have been well loved, but are in great condition otherwise. At least that is how we left the flooring when my daughter and I left for the day so they could clean. What we came back to was completely different. I received a phone call from the technician once they were done saying that they would not recommend going forward with the sealing because PART of our grout had lifted in some areas. Thinking it would be a small portion of our flooring, since that is what was described to me by the technician, I wasn't too upset about it when I got off the phone. What I came home to was a completely difference scene than she had described. Our grout had lifted and chipped in over 50% of our kitchen/dining room (250sqft) and the floors were hardly cleaned. I called to request a refund in full right away and was told I would get a call back from the owner by the end of the next business day. That call back did not happen so I continued to call and call and call until I finally got ahold of him the day before Christmas Eve. Seeing as how we were going into a Holiday weekend I was even more frustrated because they have to send someone out to "evaluate" the situation before considering a refund. The evaluation happened and even the manager agreed with me that they should have stopped to call me the moment they saw even the smallest bit of grout lift. Instead, they waited until they were done to call me and tell me what happened. When I FINALLY got ahold of the owner again, a week after the evaluation, he was incredibly cold and didn't want to hear anything I had to say. He lied and said that his technician called me twice before finishing to tell me that the grout had lifted - I only have 2 phone calls from her, 1 for when she was on her way, and the other to tell me that they finished and the grout had lifted. He then lied and tell me that I told his technician to continue working on cleaning the flooring after one of the supposed phone calls we when she states she told me it was "starting to lift". In no world would I say to keep working if my grout was "starting to lift" when she called. He refused even a partial refund and did not apologize for the work done or lack of communication on his part. I will NEVER recommend this company. read more

After years of doing my own carpet cleaning, I found it more difficult so decided to pay a professional. I didn't expect miracles ; my carpet is old and the past two years we have had an old dog and a new dog having accidents, tracking in mud, etc. But, I expected the carpet to look somewhat better. After spending 300+ on a dining room/ living area, 390 ', the carpet looks even worse! Sure it looked better for a few days. I understand about stains in the padding coming up, etc, but most of these stains were not initially wet. Not only that, the carpet didn't seem to dry any faster than when I use my own home steam cleaner. I didn't expect anyone would be able to resurrect the presumed dead carpet in the rental house I recently vacated, but Oregon Chem-Dry defied the typical five-year-budget-carpet shelf life. I really just needed to make it passable to the landlord, so I was blown away when I saw the results. Of course there was still some wear and tear--those laws of physics can't be broken--but it was almost as if the technicians ripped out the dead rug and installed a brand new one!
