Update: for $32.00, we rented a rug doctor machine from Home Depot and cleaned the carpet and couch ourselves with some carpet and upholstery solution we already had in the house. Everything looks great and we will do this again the next time something needs to be cleaned. I hired Sweets Chem-Dry to clean three area rugs and two runners, specifically because they guaranteed the complete removal of pet urine odor. They emphasized that their offsite cleaning process would achieve results other companies couldn't deliver with onsite cleanings, so I paid a premium for their service. Unfortunately, I'm deeply disappointed with the outcome. The rugs were picked up and returned several weeks later, still damp and--most importantly--still smelling of urine. I waited until they fully dried, but the odor remained. When I contacted the company, they offered to re-clean them. I agreed, though this meant another lengthy wait and dealing with pick-up and drop-off again. The second time, the rugs were dry upon return, but still smelled strongly of urine--now mixed with an overpowering fragrance from the cleaning solution that was so intense it caused headaches in my household. I asked to speak with a manager, and Rob informed me they don't offer refunds, but could clean the rugs again. At this point, the rugs had already been gone for over two months, and I had no confidence a third cleaning would fix the issue. I declined and asked again for a refund due to their failure to meet the original guarantee. Rob said he'd look into making an exception and follow up with me. That was over two weeks ago, and I haven't heard back. The rugs have now been in my home for several weeks, and they still smell like urine covered by heavy fragrance. I feel let down not only by the poor results, but also by the lack of follow-through from management. If I could choose negative stars I would. First appointment was cancelled last minute. Had to reschedule with Sweets. Employee seemed ok and worked hard. After the job was done, carpets were saturated. Called the next day and spoke to Rob who said this was not normal and carpets should have been dry 1-2 hours after the cleaning. Called back 3rd day after service as carpets were still very wet. Rob stated that there was a hole in the extraction hose of the equipment and the moisture wasn't properly extracted. Rob never offered a refund or to come out immediately to extract the moisture. Should be called "Chem Wet". Never again with this company. read more

Overall they did a good job, they got the urine and poo smell out of the carpet which was very noticeable prior. The person who did the cleaning, a nice person, but talked a lot when I just wanted them to get to work. Had them clean the couch which it's never been cleaned, and it looked shiny after! I scheduled Sweets Chen-Dry to clean a few carpets. On the day they were to have cleaned the carpets we moved furniture and made ready for the cleaning. The technician did not arrive on time. After waiting 25 minutes, I called the office and was told the technician was running a little late but was now on her way to our house. An hour later I received a call saying the technician was not coming and was sick. I was offered another appointment,in four days, which I declined. I don't think I was told the truth about the situation and was left waiting for 1 1/2 hours for nothing. read more

First of all, I did a google search on upholstery cleaning and Vancouver Chem-dry showed up. I followed their link and placed an online appointment. No where did it tell me they are no longer in business and that Sweets from Oregon took them over. I received an email from Sweets acknowledging my appointment and when I called to verify she explained, oh we are the same company, sorry for the confusion. My quote online was for $140. I only wanted 2 chairs done. That was $90, but they charge a minimum of $129. So I went ahead and ordered living room carpet as well; that was $50. I also saw a 15% discount coupon and mentioned to gal and she said no problem. The guy came as promised, called just beforehand, pitched their sanitizing and stainguard, which I declined. I mentioned a coupon and he said, oh, nevermind that one I'll give you a better one here since we want you back, so a 30% discount. Turns out my final bill was $140! So where was the discount? I didn't even bring it up to him. I just wanted him out and I won't use them again. read more

The technician response was that the office is not supposed to give price quotes over phone. She did schedule another appt to re-clean and re-treat the carpet on 6/15/2022. nNo phone call from any manager or owner 6/15/2022 ***** the technical called at 1:51PM, only 9 min before my appointment, and apologized for the situation. I asked why a manager/owner never called me and she said the owner told her to handle it as it was her issue to fix. ***** has been a great employee to work with as a customer and it was shocking to hear she doesnt have a team to back her up. She found the cause of the first poor cleaning was due to a hose leaking all over including inside her truck. The owner had since told her the truck equipment was fixed. We scheduled a new service date on 6/20/2022 and hopefully everything will be fixed.6/18/2022 - Violet called to confirm the appointment and asked what the issues have been. I tried explaining everything, including my feelings of being ignored by Management. She became defensive, kept screaming at me. My technician called to let us know he was on his way. He arrived at the appointed window of time. He was courteous, professional and cleaned our carpet in about two hours. The carpet looked nice. However, my issue was the drying time. I was told that my carpet would be dry in 4-6 hours. It took over THREE days for the carpet to be completely dry. And do I need to be concerned about mold now? I was told that ChemDry uses less water (80% less than hot water extractions) so as not to cause excessive damage to the carpet. That left me wondering how much water was actually used and if the extraction process worked efficiently. It was really inconvenient not to be able to move my furniture back for over three days. Upon sending Sweet's ChemDry my feedback, Viki informed me that they did a thorough check of the equipment and found that the extractor was partially blocked. They offered to come back to fix any "stained" spots within 30 days because when water is left on the carpet that long, stains can come back to the surface. My carpet did not have any stains to begin with. I also noticed that there was residue left in the carpet because the carpet felt gritty in several places. This was not acceptable to me. When the extraction does not work properly, the water evaporates leaving the dirt IN my carpet. I thought I would be offered a re-cleaning at no charge. Instead, I had to insist that my carpet be completely redone because the cleaning was definitely substandard. I was rescheduled for the following week. (Thus, my furniture was in disarray for over one week!) When the same technician returned, I was informed that he was not going to be paid for this work. It certainly was not his fault that the equipment did not work properly. It is very unfair to make an employee absorb the cost of the company's negligence. In fact, he had informed his supervisor that the equipment was leaving the carpet wetter than normal. Why wasn't the equipment inspected then? The company needs to trust their technicians - they know best if the equipment is working well or not. Why wait until a customer complains to do something? Now, my carpet has to be cleaned TWICE in one week and I am not happy that it is being exposed to water again in such a short time period. read more

We had Sweet's Chem-Dry come out and clean the carpet in our bedroom, living room and entry January 9th. When the carpet dried it looked dull and dirty. I took our Bissell carpet cleaner to a 3 x 3 area of the bedroom and got out a lot of dirt and stain. We received a call from them on the 10th asking how the service was and we told them we were totally dissatisfied as the carpets were not clean. The caller asked if we wanted Them to come back out and I told her I believe it was the process used and not the technician doing the work that did not do the job and did not feel that another attempt would produce better results. We then had Brad's Carpet Cleaning come out on the following Monday and redo the areas. After the carpet dried the carpet looked and felt clean. I would not recommend Sweet's. read more

Sweets was my second attempt at upholstery cleaning in the Sherwood area. They would have earned 5 stars from me had it not been for the pricing, which I find to be a bit much...more on that at the end. I have a dog and a cat and get my carpets cleaned twice a year and my furniture once. About a month ago, my cat was sick and she urinated on my couch. I had a different company out and they totally botched the job, but still charged full price. Once I had the money back in my budget, I started calling around to have the couch done again. After calls to 5 different places I chose Sweets, and I am perfectly satisfied that I did. The girl who took my original call was friendly and completely professional. I outlined what I needed done: a thorough deep clean of my couch cushions including a pet urine treatment, the goal being no smell left at all without having to replace my couch. She answered all my questions and gave me every option available to me. I made an appointment to have them come out to clean, sanitize, deodorize and do the PURT treatment. She let me know that it sounded like what I needed would be a little more difficult than usual, and that it might require a little more dry time. I never mind a little extra inconvenience as long as I am warned about it in advance, so the extra step she took in telling me this impressed me. On my scheduled day, a young man showed up at the beginning of the 2 hour window they'd given me and listened completely as I told him what I needed. He'd already been told, but he was polite and let me speak my peace without cutting me off. He looked at the cushions and did an appraisal and gave me the same warnings as the scheduler, that he would need to soak my cushions and that they'd take a long time to dry. He took my cushions out to the truck and an hour later, returned them to my apartment giving me instructions to leave them wet for a day and a half to allow for the treatment to soak in and break up the urine smell and then to start the business of aggressively drying them out. I anticipated about 4 days of not being able to sit on my cushions. As it turns out, they began drying on their own faster than we'd discussed and they were completely dry by yesterday afternoon, having been cleaned on Thursday afternoon. I am happy to report that there is NO smell left, and I've pressed my face right into them. I'd honestly been worried that I'd have to replace the entire couch and chair. Not necessary now. The young man who came was extremely friendly and professional and even handed me a Dove Bar along with his business card. Chocolate never hurts. ;) As for the pricing, it was $150 to get my couch and chair cushions done. To me, this is pretty damn expensive. I'm new to the area, and I'd had another company before I moved that did all my carpets and upholstery and it would usually be $120 for 800 square feet of carpet and my couch, stain and pet treatments included. To be fair, this time the cushions were in rough shape (that smell!) and required a bit of TLC. But the cheapskate side of me still thinks that $150 for 3 ass cushions, 2 pillow-size back cushions and 2 throw pillows is a little bit much. That's the only reason I didn't give 5 stars, and I will for sure use these guys again for the job they did and their courtesy and professionalism....next time I'll just ask for coupons or package deals. read more

I came across Sweet's Chem-Dry through a Groupon that I had purchased. It seemed to be a good deal and our carpets were in dire need of a cleaning. With two dogs and a baby about to learn how to crawl it had become a definite need. I called and made my appointment, and even with the sale of their Groupons, I was able to get an appointment the next week. They called two days before to remind me of the appointment and check my address which was nice. The scheduler had written down my address wrong with 'SW' rather than 'SE' and I called them back and told them of the error. The carpet cleaners called at the beginning end of the three hour window that the scheduler had said would be when they would stop by. Unfortunately, the scheduler had not updated them of the address fix and they were over on the wrong side of town. However, they made it over quickly and did not complain about the error. The young men who arrived were very professional and polite and quickly measured the square footage and gave me an estimate. They told me of their extras (sanitizing and carpet protection) and the benefits of purchasing them, but did not push them on me which I always appreciate. They moved the large pieces of furniture that I had not been able to move before they arrived in order to clean under them, and they worked quickly. They finished in about an hour and charged what their estimate had been. At first glance, I was very happy with how the carpets looked. They were unable to remove only one tiny stain and made sure to tell me about it before they left. They wrote down my Groupon number and accepted my credit card as payment for the stairs and sanitization I had purchased and gave me a candy bar on their way out. Upon further inspection after they left, I discovered that their cleaning of the edges of the stairs and of part of the room left a bit to be desired. Dog fur that had accumulated there had not been thoroughly removed. Some had been cleaned but not all. Also, they had dumped the wet fur/dirt that they had cleaned from my carpets in front of the bushes outside of my house. Yes, I need to rake and prune the bushes, but that doesn't mean that I want it to look even worse! I think that I got what I paid for in this carpet cleaning. If you are looking for a cheap and quick carpet cleaning, then hire this company. However, I would be hesitant to hire them again at their full price. read more

I have used Sweet's for YEARS!! They are always punctual, super polite, and let me know if there were any areas that they weren't able to get clean.. I have referred them to friends, family and my employer. (We've used them repeatedly, as well!) I wanted to mention to the previous folks that commented about noticing missed spots-they will come back out if you call them. We had a stain that kept coming to the surface at work, and they came out to help us out with it (not their fault, but they came out to reclean the spot...we later found out that it was something that couldn't be "fixed"). I was searching for their number online and noticed they didn't have the best yelp reviews. I'm surprised about this, honestly. I know that they state a window of time for them to arrive, and I have to wonder if the previous reviewer was confused about that. They are locally owned and I believe it's a family that runs it. I wouldn't use a different carpet cleaner-our house never smells afterwards, and I am always very happy with it :) I am ALWAYS HAPPY with them. I have 3 kids, and we have pets. I actually feel bad for the people that have to clean our carpets. But it truly looks brand new when they leave! read more

I purchased a Groupon in early July, and when I emailed Sweet's to schedule, I heard back within the hour about their availability. I was able to schedule a time that worked really well for me. Technician called 25 minutes before appointment to let me know he was on his way, and he arrived right on time. Very professional college kid, he helped me to get the most out of my 350 sq.ft. Groupon deal, and added the stairs at a very reasonable cost. He worked efficiently and was done in just over an hour. Carpet and stairs look fabulous. I had an appointment for Saturday with anticipated arrival between 8-8:30 am. We got up early to move furniture, prep for their arrival and get three kids out of the house for the day. I called the company at 10:15 as I had not heard from anyone. Apparently, their technician had called in sick and they could reschedule me for Friday (six days away). I asked if there was anything better that they could do. Not once did I ever get an apology or an offer of something that they could do for me. On day of appointment, they no showed then had someone call and leave a voicemail saying someone got sick and no one else was available. Told to call on Monday to reschedule appointment. I purchased a carpet cleaning deal through Group-on for Sweet's Chem-Dry ($59 for up to 400 sq feet). From the first call to the office to schedule my appointment until the guys cleaned my carpets and drove off, the service was 100% professional! I got a reminder call a couple days ahead of my appointment, a call from the techs letting me know they were 'on the way' (and they were well within the 2 hour window we had agreed on). Steffen and Blaine rolled in, looked at the area I wanted cleaned, told me I was considerably under the 400 sq feet allowed on my Group-on deal and offered to clean another adjoining room to get me to 400 sq feet. These guys were fast and thorough. They pretreated, cleaned, then left me a Dove milk chocolate bar on their way out ("Sweet's" branding). There was mention of a product they could add for an additional charge to protect the carpets but I declined and that was the end of it -- no high pressure up-selling. Sweets Chem Dry cleaned my carpet? They popped the circuit at some point during the cleaning process. I am not sure if they finished the job or not. They did ask for full payment and I didn't realize anything had gone wrong. Then I tried to close my garage door, turn on the garage lights and my freezer was no longer cooling. I requested assistance and the owner came out. The garage door still doesn't open and the outlets throughout my house still don't work. This is a great local company. We bought a Yelp deal to get a sofa cleaned that had been soiled by our elderly cat. The original technician didn't do a very good job but when I contacted the company about having the couch redone, they were wonderful and sent someone out as soon as possible to redo the couch for free (and let me know that tech was no longer with them for performance issues). The tech also confirmed half hour before he arrived. He got here right on time, took measurements of the rooms and gave me the price which was less than quoted (awesome!). A dog found a pack of gum and decided to let it melt into my new carpet. A friend suggested Sweet's and I am really thankful. Quinton came out and cleaned the carpet right away and was pretty sure the gum was gone but told me if there was any left to give them a call.
