They even canceled a telehealth app. He's been dealing with anxiety for awhile and its just been a nightmare every time they cancel. They've even canceled the day of his appointment. I have been a patient here since 2017.. primary care, acupuncture, chiropractor, mental health: both psychologist and psychiatrist. If I need anything else I get referrals to Legacy based providers. The level of care I get is top notch. From reception to medical assistant to providers. I am treated as a human being, not my condition. I have recommended OIH to several friends & acquaintances and will continue to do so. When I was first referred myself I was very sick, hospitalized and almost died. The clinic helped save my life. Practictioners are excellent, kind and very caring. I wish I could say the same for "front desk" people. One of the only 2 ppl at reception area often had a sign posted in front of her desk that she was "in a meeting", under headphones and NOT available to assist you! Ugh. The other person took what seemed like an ungodly amt of time to "check you in" (10 minutes? Maybe longer) and while NOT communicating with you the entire time while you are also wondering what's going on! And all this WHILE the practitctioner is in the hallway waiting for you! Since the previous physician sold the clinic to Oregon Integreated Health, the practice has gone rapidly downhill. The telephone answering system is awful. You leave a message and the call's never returned. There's no way to contact your physician directly. Getting prescriptions authorized is a time-consuming nightmare. They're only recourse is to refer you to their online portal, which is terrible. I was a patient with Dr. Dacker for three decades and the service was excellent. Now, I'm switching Medicare physicians as soon as possible. Avoid this company like the plague. read more

Terrible service and experience. I waited 25 minutes to be seen for my first appointment and blood draw. On my appointment to review I called in advance to let them know I would be a little late and they said I could be 10 minutes late, would be fine. I got there exactly at 10 minutes and they refused to see me. They said I was "1 minute late" and denied me care. They are not on time themselves and make patients wait, but when I give them advance notice and come exactly on time they deny me care. Extremely frustrating and unprofessional. Salem location is also small, old and dirty. I do not recommend this clinic. read more

Paperwork is more important than patients here. i had a nurse insist that I receive a medically unnecessary and invasive procedure because she would not listen to me. i had prolonged pain and suffering because of this nurses ego. the paperwork was wrong. but she insisted i was wrong. Called to set up a new patient appt the first week of January. Told they could do a video triage appointment 2/21 and dr appt 4/4. I am type 1 diabetic and need meds to live. Have called several times a week since setting the appts to get in earlier or to get my meds set up. Did not receive the login info for the triage appt because the person that took my info put in the wrong number. Never received a return call from anyone and no email either. After not being able to do the intake, called and was able to get the number in the system corrected and rescheduled the triage. Told them a prior auth was needed for the meds and they said they would do that. Tried to get meds at pharmacy and told the insurance was denying because there was no PA. Called that night and left message that this was needing resolution immediately, no call. Next day left another message. Monday called and told I needed to talk to supervisor who was at lunch, no call back. Call back 3 hours later and told supervisor is at lunch. I have NO insulin and have not been able to eat for 3 days because of it. Called back and told that PA was denied and I need to speak to supervisor and they will give them a message so they can call me back. At this point, I have lost 10 lbs in the last month and am getting very sick. I have no insulin and will be in the ER in the next 24 hours if these people cannot start doing patient care. read more

I am very happy to have discovered that OIH has great primary care providers. My ND, Dr. Abbas, provides first rate thorough care. Dr. Abbas is very thorough in her examinations and knows a lot about women's health issue including mental health. The support personnel are all friendly and professional. There are virtual appointments available if needed and later appointments. I was able to get in with short notice for a pressing issue. What a wonderful practice! read more

Update 1/19/2024 FINALLY got my pills refilled after going a week off my meds.....called "Vanessa" the medical director. Who does NOT care for patients in the slightest. Our conversation was this: "hello I'm curious why I had to go over 4 days without my prescription" she then said "well I filled it today so go get it" I asked her "what happens when patients go without their daily prescribed medication?" She told me "idk everyone is different....ive prescribed over 100 patients lexapro" I asked the question again, she refused to answer. Asked 3 more times she refused to answer. She said "look I got other patients to talk to" I told her "ma'am I am one of your patients who has been calling all week to get my meds" she said "pharmacy could've gave you emergency supply" I said "so is it the pharmacist fault I went through withdrawals??" She said "idk look I know you were out....but I filled it today, what else do you need" I explained again I want to understand why this clinic is forcing me to go without medication and again what happens when a patient skips medication she said "idk what happens" I said "ma'am as a medical provider who yourself said you prescribed over 100 people lexapro...do you tell them to stick to the prescription or do you tell them it doesn't matter take them when ever you want??" She said "idk everyone is different are we done here?" I told her I feel like she is rushing me, her patient, and not actually helping or even seems to care. She then started to laugh. I told her again this isn't professional and I don't feel like she is caring for patients. She said "are we done?" She refused to let me speak she only wanted to regurgitate her rehearsed responses. And did not care in the slightest that for a second time she has caused a patient to go through withdrawals. She said "I answered all your questions" I told her she didn't answer the one question I keep asking. I said as a medical provider is it okay for me to skip pills whenever I want? She said "idk" and hung up. I don't appreciate being laughed at when I'm expressing my concerns to my provider about how I'm going through withdrawals because of their mistake. read more

I simply do not know what I would do right now without this office. I got hit hard this year and they've been there inch by inch to get me back into working order. I see Dustin, Stacey, both John's (chiropractic) at some point and Melanie. You do have to leave a message sometimes to get an appointment but, someone calls back the same day. Kristina, the medical assistant has been here forever and is pretty much the only person on the planet I'll let take blood. I recommend for anyone looking for multiple appointments to look here. I would say this is the worst clinic you could go to for your health needs in Portland Oregon. First off it is nearly impossible to get someone on the phone at this clinic and the PCP I was assigned to always seemed rushed and unconcerned about my health issues. I wish I read these reviews before going to this clinic. Make sure you don't make the same mistake as me. I was a patient at this clinic and had my primary care doctor at the clinic for a number of months. One day my throat had closed up and I could not swallow food and I was admitted to the emergency room for it. I went to my primary care doctor to get a referral to have my throat looked at. After weeks of the referral not going through I asked to have the manager of the clinic call me back as I still as not able to eat or swallow properly. The manager Hedi called me back days later and told me I was discharged from the clinic for an incident that took place at the clinic. I never had any incident at the clinic and never had anything but a smile and thank you for everyone there. I asked her to tell me what day, time and place this incident happened and to provide video .... she could not since this was a made up story about something that never happened. It's outrageous that a medical clinic has the nerve to call a patient who has been waiting for weeks without being able to eat properly and makes up a story like Hedi the manager did. Unless you want doctors and managers that apparently lie and makeup stories about you to cover there own disorganization I HIGHLY suggest you look for ANY OTHER clinics in Portland. I have never been lied to by a medical professional in my life before being called and told this 100% fabricated story by Hedi the manager at this clinic. You have been warned. DON't trust your health with people who would rather make up a story and lie than to serve your medical needs. read more

After a bad experience with OHS last year regarding a certain 'turn-n-burn' dermatologist, I was hesitant to use them again, but figured it had been so long since I'd had any kind of regular check-up it might be a good idea. I have Trillium, and preferred a naturopathic doctor, since I'd had very good care with one previously in Portland. Trillium's suggestion was with Dr. Murison at OIH, so I made an appointment. It's difficult to get quick appointments with any social services, apparently. My mom has Medicare as well as the ability to pay cash for anything Medicare doesn't cover, but still can't get an appointment within 4 months, and that's about what it's been for me. This sucks if you have immediate need, but it seems to just be how this system functions. The building on River Rd in Eugene for Oregon Integrated Health looks funky. Really funky for a health care facility, but the inside is clean and quiet. The staff were helpful and polite, and Dr. Murison was kind and extremely capable. He and the nurse actually listened to me, and I returned the courtesy. I followed Dr Murison's suggestions, and saved myself from some really bad problems that I didn't know about but were looming on my near horizon. Getting appointments for tests and specialty care can be frustrating because it just takes so long, but that's not the fault of OIH. They have been great and very communicative, so I can definitely recommend them. I haven't experienced any of the problems I'm seeing on previous comments here, so I don't know what's up with that. Maybe there was a change of staff, or a change of heart, but for me it's been smooth sailing. read more

It troubles me to write a "sour" review for a place I have been using a few years with satisfaction. I like Dr. Grasso's expertise, professionalism and genuine care. But it seems "they" have dropped the ball on processing two referral's for physical therapy (PT) and chiropractor work for my lower back pain and soreness. Fortunately, I paid out-of-pocket for a chiropractor at Portland Integrated. The chiropractor gave me exercises to help. I started an exercise routine and yoga to strengthen the core and back at my gym. I am steadily making progress. That is the good news! The bad news is I have waited now 7 weeks for the PT referral and 5 weeks for a chiropractor referral. Over a month ago, my PT called Portland Integrated Health for the naturopath's required notes to process the referral. I followed up too. Today is Thursday and on Monday (4 days ago) I walked into Portland Integrated office. I asked the receptionist what is the referral hold-up. She checked the data base and said "still waiting on doctor to furnish his notes." Well, I asked the receptionist to have my doctor call me, so I can understand why they have not been proactive helping to process my referral's. I have been waiting 4 days for a courtesy phone call. I am very disappointed! Lesson learned: I am opting out of my current insurance and getting into a plan in the marketplace that does not require referrals. I am not sure I will opt out using Portland Integrated Health as my primary care just yet, although I am leaning that way---due to disappointment! It is incumbent upon a primary care provider to release doctor notes and hopefully be proactive for a patient in processing a referral. read more

I hate having to downgrade a 5 star review. 3 cancellations , one of them I found out while I was sitting in the lobby for about 20 min when I finally walked up to the front office person to ask her how long will it be? She was like oh let me call him. She called him and he knew nothing about my appt. It was on the books, he just forgot or something..After paying for parking and driving across town, I received no apologie or parking reimbursement. I received a call this morning cancelling my next appointment..again. As much as I really like Chiropractor John H, I just can't deal with the constant Cancellations. So, I can't give my full Endorsement. Sadly I won't be back. read more

Wow, wish I had seen these reviews before I changed clinics. What a frustrating place to get medical care. Both Dr. Randolph (no longer with the clinic) and Dr. Grasso are terrific. The problem is clinic policy. They do not provide B-12 shots or accommodate patients who need them. They are medically necessary for me. So, okay, I thought I would change clinics at some point after discovering that. Front staff would not help me get records to referral from Dr. Randolph bc they were not generated at OIH. So, after many phone calls I gave up and never saw Ortho I needed after an injury. Dr. Randolph said front staff was wrong about policy. I tried to get in this last time for months with every appt being canceled the day before or day of. No attempt was made to get me in to see another doctor. No way to reach the clinic to say you will be 5 min late or left an umbrella. On hold for 20 minutes with some offsite service. I established care with another clinic yesterday. Whew!! So relieved to know I can now get reliable, convenient medical care. I don't blame Dr. Randolph for leaving. read more

I wrote a review for Dr. Howell under where he used to work (Pearl Health Center), so here is my review copied & pasted from there, which still stands true completely.... Dr. Howell is an awesome chiropractor! I am so skeptical w/ going to a new chiropractor, I usually don't go unless I absolutely feel it necessary. I went to see Dr. Howell blindly because he offered a discount for Care Oregon members since Care Oregon doesn't cover chiropractors. I think he's the best chiropractor I've been to! He gives me an adjustment each visit as well as a massage & then he hooks me up to those electric massager thingies (ha) so my muscles get a little workout, too. I highly recommend him! It's nice not to get ripped off either :) Also to note, he is one of the owners of this new place & they have a really great space! I also agree with the other reviewer, street parking here is no biggie even though it's in the Pearl... I've never had to walk more than a block. read more

I work in a customer service field so I am exceptionally gracious to a few mistakes here and there - but when a visit never goes well I start to become concerned. The clinic is difficult to get in touch with outside of online scheduling. I have had my medical records confused with another patient "whoops looks like we had that filed under someone else" and "we cancelled your appointment because we had you scheduled under another person and she's no longer a patient here" I have seen Dr. Esteves on a couple of occasions and never felt like she presented herself professionally. I understand personality differences but I felt on each occasion that my visit was interrupting her day. Appointments and follow up calls alike I felt like I had to repeat to her my medical history and why she was calling. On a more frustrating note, I was referred to her by my insurance website for a PRIMARY care physician and found out later she is a ND - not covered by my insurance after several visits. I am a very low maintenance patient, and simply kept the same doctor to manage my prescriptions. I had to call monthly to get my prescriptions refilled, and often missed a couple of days due to the inability to get the refill prescribed. On more than one occasion the prescription was written incorrectly and had to be returned. To the point that I had the pharmacist apologize and tell me they constantly have issues with prescriptions from this location. The girls at the front desk mean well, and a few are very helpful, but there is a lot they simply cannot control or be held responsible for. I have not seen any additional practitioners at this office and cannot provide reviews. Dr. Esteves I would not recommend at all. As a whole, I would encourage you to find a completely different practice until this location can get their basics figured out. I can give you some medical advice and help you avoid a headache... read more

I needed a hip replacement and the last doctor to examine me insisted the pain was caused by a hernia. Adding an aditional year to unneccisary pain. Just one of many false diagnosis. Saw Phil Grasso, and enjoyed his patient attention and personable professionalism. Unfortunately, both of my visits with Phil were preceded by long waits alone in an enclosed patient room. On the first visit, I was left in the room for upwards of 20 minutes before seeing Phil; on the second visit, I waited more than 30. In the latter instance, I left the room to ask reception if I was forgotten about and was told hurriedly, "Of course not, don't be silly!" and returned to the room. When I left the door to my room open (for air and to avoid feeling penalized), the nurse walked passed and shut it without looking at/acknowledging me. A doctor's office should treat patients as any business should treat its customers - with respect and kindness. If the doctor's running late, warn the patient before the appointment. If that's not possible, don't make them wait secluded in a windowless room. And if you don't take those precautions, apologize and commit to doing better next time. read more

I was so happy to find that my Nurse Practitioner who I have been seeing for the last 19 years is part owner of this new clinic! Patty Brandon FNP WHCNP is fantastic! She specializes in women's health, but she is also a Family Nurse Practitioner. She truly listens, and cares. She takes her time, which is so rare in this day and age. My physicals are normally scheduled for at least a full hour. She is very thorough, and easy to talk to. There is nothing you could tell her that would make her blink an eye (I have tried, believe me). I have sent several friends to her when their physicians couldn't solve their medical issues. She has vast experience, but will not hesitate to refer you to a specialist when she feels something is out of her scope. In a nutshell, I love her. I found it easy to schedule my appointment. The front desk, and medical assistant were very nice, and helpful with insurance questions. This clinic has a range of specialties, from primary care, naturopathic medicine, massage therapy, acupuncture, and chiropractic. I'm impressed. It's a very easy location to find. I found plenty of on street parking even though it's in the Pearl. Seriously though, if you're in need of a good primary or women's health provider, I can't recommend Patty enough! read more

This is going to be more of a love note and less of a review. Why? Because I am 100% in love with this place. I kind of want to keep it a secret, but I suppose for the good of all I'll share. I first stopped in here when my previous therapist moved to Washington and she suggested I check out the one here. I started seeing Melanie and really liked her. She's more the type that you check in with to make sure meds are going ok rather than the kind I had before, who I saw weekly to chat with. If you're looking for someone to see often Melanie is not who you want, but she is great at listening to me during my quick sessions every few months. I needed a new PCP so I figured I'd keep it in the family, so to speak. I started seeing Dr. Phil Grasso ND and loved him! What a great guy, easy to talk to, very knowledgable, and an overall gentle demeanor. He's helped me with anything and everything I've thrown at him (and I'm a hypochondriac so that's a lot). I also appreciate that I can get in to see him when I need to. Nothing will make me change doctors faster than being unable to get an appointment within a reasonable time. Well, that and feeling like I'm being rushed/the doctor has no time to spend with me. I also have weekly appointments with Stacy (acupuncturist) and John (chiropractor). Stacy is such a sweet person! I look forward to every appointment I have with her and can feel my muscles melt as I lay on her table, complete with heat lamp on me to complete the relaxing experience. John is, well pretty much just the most amazing chiropractor to ever live. I've seen them all my life and have never been excited about one until now. Not only does he do adjustments but he takes the time to do some muscle work (aka massage) and hooks me up to his little electrode machine thingy to really tear down the muscles so they will rebuild. He comes from the background of a runner so I feel like I'm getting so much more than just a quick spinal adjustment. Sara at the desk, and Christine the medical assistant round out this amazing team of medical professionals. I spend a lot of time in there because of the horrible back problems and they have done such a great job in helping me with the issues and also making it as pleasant an experience as possible. Did I mention one-stop shopping? Everything under one roof really makes it easy. Plus tasty Thai food next door. They deserve at least 6-stars! read more

Dr. Vanessa Esteves is VERY dismissive. She often forgets what ailments and other things you have talked to her about in the past. It feels like she is not interested in really figuring out the problem. I feel very frustrated by the lack of help I've gotten from her even though my blood tests show I'm positive for an autoimmune disorder. She basically just told me to clean up my diet and see where we go from there. No, I'm not asking for a magic pill but to be totally brushed off like that was infuriating. It's important to at least have an answer so you know where you stand. Her attitude and demeanor is very off putting. She talks to you like you are a child but I end up doing much of the research about my heath condition on my own. I shouldn't have to do that. She has also told me that because my illness isn't the worst she's seen that I'm basically ok. That she's seen people with XYZ disorder who are much worse off in a wheelchair, etc. Insinuating, I can only imagine, that it's not a big deal for me and I should just let it go. ND's SHOULDN'T be like this. My partner (different insurance) had an ND and they were so attentive, asked lots of questions and spent no less than an hour at a time with him. But I suppose when you only see patients 3x a week you have to get them in and out to get those insurance dollars in. I may try a different doctor in this practice, but I'm definitely not going to give them as much leeway as I've given her. They doctors here are constantly late and it feels like they don't value your time. The scheduling has been an issue, too. I never trust them to get the appt. right after having an issue in the past where I asked them to move the appt. up an hour, they said ok it was moved, I came in an hour early and of course, it was not done correctly. I only gave it two stars because I've had positive results with Dr. Howell. And with my health coach, Dr. Lisa Fischman. read more

Did not seem to thoroughly look at my chart to know that the provider was not under my insurance, cancelled my appt not letting me know, and just was not organized the way they should be in a health center. It was my last day of insurance and for them to not take the time to help or look at my chart properly I think is terrible. I told the person time and time again that my insurance was ending. And for the person to not even tell me that the provider that I was trying to see (for awhile calling) was not under my insurance was a waste of my time. I could have contacted other places during that time in order to see someone. Very VERY disappointed in a healthcare place like this. read more

I have been coming to Portland Integrated Health and Sports Medicine for almost a year now (gratefully due to the affordable care act!) My body was a mess! I am so thankful that ALL of my medical needs are met here (& under one roof!) with compassion, caring and expertise. I see on a reguar basis Chris Tucker, John Howell, Phil Grasso, Stacy G and Melanie Parker. Sara at the front desk keeps me (and the providers) all efficiently seeing each other and is super helpful in coordinating appointments! The two PA's (Cody & a nice gal who I can't remember her name) are always professional and nice. I would not hesitate to recommend this clinic to my friends and family (which I have) I feel cared for and welcome there. read more

Yikes. Don't come here if you want actual science based medical care and/or anyone who wont act like you're an imposition to their time. I've lived in 6 countries and have relocated all over the US due to work. I've been seen by a variety of people over the last 3 decades of my life. Usually the spectrum of care goes from OK-- Good--Great. This is the first time I've had a flat out BAD experience with a medical professional. And this is my first ever review. Sad it had to be a negative one. I've been seeing Amy Pandorf for over a year and had a great experience, but she recently left the practice and I saw Terry Burfine after that. Unfortunately my last experience was so bad I wont be going back. I'll summarize some highlights: 1. I asked a question and she told me to google it. Let's just stop right there and think about that for a second. I'm aware the internet exists, but I don't want to self-diagnose- that's why I made an appointment with a medical professional. I'm a scientist so I've never once thought that Web MD was a better resource than a trained professional, but in this case I am inclined to agree. I absolutely should have stayed home and googled instead. 2. She cut me off and argued about my own symptoms. She seemed really impatient right from minute one. At one point she huffed "I don't know what you want me to do about it." Yeah, that's comforting. 3. She told me it was ILLEGAL to prescribe a long term med I've been taking. I said "That's funny. I haven't heard anything about it. When did that law get passed?" Then she backtracked. I mean, what? Highly highly highly unethical. If you're hesitant to prescribe a medication, let's have a discussion about it. DO NOT LIE to a patient. Fortunately I work closely with the FDA and know how to fact check. 4. She did not listen when I said I had a bad reaction to a medication in 2016 and prescribed it anyway. I'm a healthy person with only minor issues. This was simply an annual exam. I cannot imagine being a patient with actual health problems trying to receive care here. Fortunately I work in the medical field and know this is abnormal and there are a lot of providers that care. Dr. Philip Grasso is the best doctor I've ever had! There's something refreshing about a doctor who tells you "No, I don't think you have [insert ailment here]". It means you're not just paying off his student loans or renting that time-share on the coast he's been coveting. It's nice to know the Hippocratic Oath is alive and well in isolated instances in this healthcare-benighted nation. Everyone that works here is super nice; I've been to clinics where I felt like I'd just made Nurse Ratched's To Do list. Competency, compassion, and congeniality are the three Cs of this clinic. Sure, it can be hard to get a hold of these guys, but you can leave a message that they will promptly follow up on. Not only that, but if you call the urgent care number after hours, you'll receive a response within an hour! Well, I did. Now all I need to do is show up for my appointments. Going to OIH was the biggest nightmare I've ever experienced. A doctor here referred me to a nurse, Frances Canadera, who asked me to take a drug test for a prescription. I've been on this prescription for six years. She clearly had no understanding of my condition and ruled that I did not have the condition because I didn't pass a multiple choice test that asked me questions about it. She didn't give me my prescription which is fine. I got it from an actual doctor who read my medical files. During the appointment, Frances assured me that the visit was covered by my insurance. She told me this in person and I didn't ask for written documentation which was a mistake. She ordered that I take a drug test and I did. Fast forward a month, I receive a bill for $1100 stating that the drug test and consultation was not covered by my insurance. Frances literally told me that she refuses to give me paperwork about the meeting so I'm having difficulty finding out why $1100 was charged for 30 minutes. A simple visit to a nurse has become a major hassle in my life. I would never recommend any services at OIH because honestly this is the most reprehensible excuse for health care that I've ever witnessed. read more

The team at OIH always makes it so easy and seamless for visits. I had some lab work done here and was in and out within 10 minutes and results game back within a matter of days! Would certainly recommend! read more

Inept at primary care. I was sent here by my insurance. My first experience with the Doctor was not great. Long waiting time and I got an impression Dr. Esteves had never treated anyone recovering from the type of surgery I had. Which is fine but she kept calling it something else and I had to correct her. She also gave me advice that was really off base. Then I came back for my 3 month blood work, after another hour of waiting they told me I needed to be fasting and to come back. No one could of figured this out sooner? Then I come back for the blood draw and two different techs couldn't get my blood and they told me I needed to go to a lab. The guy made a point of telling me it was my fault because I was dehydrated. I told them I've always had hard to veins to get which is true. Usually new nurses poke and poke me and then have to go for my hand anyway. So since I don't have enough time to waste going back here I'm going to my old Dr. and paying out of pocket. read more

I made an appointment to come get something looked at that has been bothering me for the greater part of my life and has since gotten worse since my daughter was born 9 months ago, this place is the ONLY place in portland that takes my insurance! Excited, i made the appointment 2 weeks in advance, got a babysitter, drove the 45 minute drive out there, paid for parking, only to have them tell me i couldnt be seen that day because my name was not on the schedule. Really? as a receptionist is it not basically your only job to answer the phone and schedule appointments? This wouldnt have phased me so much if i didnt live a whopping 45 minutes away and had already paid someone to watch my baby for this time, and if i werent in pain. but i do, i had, and i am. bummer. my advice to you, double check your appointments. read more

Had an appt. Today at 3:30PM. showed up and although i was in their System, they didn't have me scheduled. I set this appt. up over a week ago with Dr. Stroud. The receptionist informed me that i she did not show me as having an appt. and the next time was a week from today. not happy at all as i scheduled this over a week ago and planned around it. read more
