The staff is super friendly and I've gone back a couple of times as they have a unique selection of plants.

I've quite…read moreexhausted my husband with constant exclamations of "oh, and they had this," and "it was so inexpensive!" and "they were so helpful and nice!" and so forth. They have no advertising or signage up, thus when I arrived I thought maybe they were wholesale only. But it's hard to deter me from plants so I marched on in, and the lovely woman who greeted me was friendly and helpful as could be, confirming they were open to the public and handing off a box to fill with treasures. They also have handy wagons available. The nursery is very large, and every time I thought I'd seen everything the next corner would reveal another greenhouse. I quickly filled a box with herbs of every sort, then another with healthy perennials, strawberries, and even a mix of daffodils and narcissus. Oh, and don't forget they have houseplants! I got so much good stuff, but a few favorite finds were peonies, bleeding hearts, astilbe, purple basil, salad burnet, Vietnamese coriander, lemon verbena, Labrador violets, eucalyptus, hardy ferns, and lantana. They are cash or check only, so come prepared. It's worth going a little (or a lot!) out of your way if you usually only utilize card payments. The prices are eminently reasonable, and they even offer discounts on flats. Oh, and they are well known for their fabulous hanging baskets!

So this is a great location to come to enroll in one of their basket workshops to build your own. Great selection of small annuals and perennials to create the perfect sun, shade, or combination basket. For us in the Pacific Northwest, it is a rite of spring to make the trip to Country Garden and build our spring baskets. Your basket then hangs in their greenhouse until Mother's Day, growing in the perfect environment to be ready to take home and hang with pride. In the fall it is a build or buy for a fall basket that will make it through the winter. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful and you will have a wonderful flowering basket to show for your efforts.

I grabbed some drive through and then saw this store! You know how you are leaving for the airport in a few hours so you put off all your tasks and then realize you have two people you need to have keys made for who are watching your pets while you are gone. Hmmm, I bet that store makes keys... I was genuinely DREADING going back to Beaverton to get keys made because it is always a nightmare to get someone to get someone to come help and it takes forever. This store is friendly from the entrance. Getting a person to help is fast and friendly. Two super cute keys for under $10 in like, maybe 10 minutes - very friendly people through the whole experience and I wanted to do some serious shopping because they had such great house and garden stuff.

I have purchased several plants, a handmade butter crock, solid shampoo, and a dishwashing soap block and brush. That's just barely scratching the surface! You'll find both standard and bulk bath and body and cleaning products (for refilling your own containers), incense, candles, planters and pots of every sort (some vintage), even pet toys! They also often have gorgeous fresh cut flower bouquets. Prices are very reasonable, particularly for of-the-moment plants like micans, trail of turtles, etc. The employees are sweet and fun, and there is always a fun new item or ten to check out. I end up here most weekends and just enjoy exploring the charming space, even if I don't buy anything. It is a truly lovely spot. Of note, while Mac Market is open 8-8, Sustainable Rituals is open 11-6, so don't make the mistake I once did of grabbing some breakfast at Mac Market and tragically realizing you can't stop here to pick up a pretty plant after. Do, however, make a strategic plan to visit both. You'll get some great groceries and a meal or snacks at Mac Market, then whatever home goods you need (and some you don't, but must have!) from Sustainable Rituals.

We had taken out a number of trees in our yard and wanted a large tree that can be a focus for the…read morefront of the house. It was wonderful to be able to call Big Trees and set a time to see their trees. Daniel took us around and also helped us as we considered several types of trees. We determined that a Somerset Red Maple would be large enough and that it would be relatively easy on yard maintenance. The tour helped us decide that we really needed a tall (30' feet) to enjoy in the next few years. Big Trees was excellent at setting up a date and delivering the tree. It was amazing just to watch the equipment as they dug the hole and planted the tree (see pictures). Now we just need to follow their directions. Felix and the staff planting the tree were easy to work with. They helpled take down and reinstall part of our fence and they cleaned upt he site very well.
