There were so many awesome claw machines and a few other varieties of machines as well. Lots of different types of prizes to choose from, although plushies were in abundance. They are typical claw machines. Meaning, sometimes it will obviously drop your prize when it shouldn't because let's be real, they can't give you something EVERY time. You do get a lot of them though so if you don't get it on the first try just go again, it's expected. We did walk out with a lot of stuff. We got some things for friends/family but my partner works at a school so he was able to take some stuff there as well. I honestly wanted to keep too many because they're so cute but I don't have room for it all. I love this model though. Claw machines are a ton of fun and we really enjoyed it. It's great for kids and adults alike.

My mother and I used to always go together and get the delicious chocolate and almond dipped ice cream bars. It was fabulous. Then, after several years of not visiting, I finally went summer of '09 since I now live within walking distance (parking is a nightmare). What a shock. Just shock. At least half of the artists aren't even from Oregon, let alone the Salem area. There were people as far away from Colorado and Arizona slinging their "art" for rip off prices. Yeah, I said rip off. Look, I understand that art may take time and that these people might do this as a living. That's not my problem. As a consumer and a customer, I refuse to believe that the salt and pepper shakers they painted took so much time and effort that they warrant that $90 price tag. Am I an idiot? No. In addition to the above rip-off, the Salem Art Association will now be charging admission to "enjoy" the fair. They believe that "it's a good deal.... and $5 isn't that much money..." You're right, it's not a great deal of money, but that really isn't the point. It's a craft fair, not a museum. It's purpose is to allow patrons to purchase art, not rip people off. But I can't be too harsh, can I? The SAA reports that they ONLY made $215,000 on last years art fair. Boo hoo hoo. They also further justify this $5 fee by claiming that this art fair is one of the best in the country. I don't know the source of this information, but considering what a dump Salem is, I have a hard time believing it. Gah! Just another reason to avoid Salem.

I was amazed at what a great place this is and how much there is to see. Free parking is very easy. There was a lot of walking but they also have small trolleys that take people place to place and bleachers for watching demonstrations. Plenty of options for food, clean bathrooms. Admission varies depending on the events being held(and there is a variety!) Very easy access off I-5. I plan to visit again.

Sadly after my 7 year old had to sit by himself because we couldn't sit in the seats we paid for the night before and i had to sit across from him with strangers hoping I would hear if he choked on his food we will never go back again . I really hope they can fix this issue of making sure people sit in their seats in the future because kids having to sit with strangers and eating in spots where their parents aren't there to make sure they don't choke isn't safe .

Attended the 25th Anniversary of the Frank Lloyd Wright "Gordon House" at its current location. It…read morewas built in 1963, (a few years after Frank Lloyd Wright's death) for Conrad and Evelyn Gordon of Wilsonville, OR. The House was saved from being torn down in 2001 by being deconstructed. Then moved 40 miles over to Silverton. We were able to tour the yard, and the 1st and second floors. Each space was unique with angular wood work, colored concrete and light pouring in through wide panes of glass. All typical of FLW architecture, which he referred to as "Usonian". Simple, beautiful and functional. There were cupcakes, coloring activities and a pianist along with specialists answering questions throughout the home. My favorite part was the red kitchen and skylight. Afterwards we went over to the Oregon Garden right next door. It was two great properties to explore on a beautiful day. Highly recommend both!
