I used the chat service and got a live person (not virtual). The person answered my question. I was satisfied. When my package did finally arrive (over 3 weeks later) it looked and smelled like trash. The bottom of the box was poorly taped and was about to bust open. I would say I lucky that it even arrived in one piece but the essential oils are by for the worst i have ever encounter, oxidized, sealed with electrical tape and smelly(not in a good way). The vitamin E is running and just looks off. The clay was cheaply packaged in sandwich bags. I would love to just return them and get my money but I don't even know if it would be worth it if B. is the person I have to deal with. I have been ordering from this company for a few months with no problems, but in late June I put in an order for two items that I needed for my soap and scrub business. My package arrived like normal, but one of the oils I desperately needed was not in the package. They put a note in there stating it was on back order and would be shipped at their cost when they received it. I was a little irritated that it hadn't shown as out of stock on their website at the time I ordered it. I was also a little confused as to why they still charged me for the item before shipping it. However, I brushed it off thinking it must only be a few days out. 3 weeks went by and I heard nothing from them. I was long past out of the product and in a panic as I anticipated orders that called for the ingredient. I ordered it from another company and called Organic Creations to find out when I should expect to see my product. I got a recording that instructed me to leave a message including my email address so they could contact me back. I heard nothing. Another week went by so I called again and followed the same steps thinking that maybe they had been on vacation or something. Another week went by with no response. Finally I decided to do a charge back. I looked up the charge on my credit card. I found another one of their numbers listed. I tried to call that one thinking that perhaps I would get a human being. It was disconnected so I went through with the charge back. Today I received this email from them: Good morning, Since we received a chargeback for the evening primrose, unrefined 32oz. from your credit card company -- and no email explaining this, we have provided you a refund for the product. This item was on backorder as we mentioned inside your shipment, and we do apologize for that. This item was set to be received to our warehouse sometime the middle of next week, and shipped at our expense. But since a chargeback was filed against us, and those take a lot of our time to comply with -- we have cancelled the order. We request that maybe you find another supplier for your products. Essential oils in plastic bottles! Wow, seriously! You want to call yourselves organic creations & when I ordered essential oils from you I got them in plastic bottles with electrical tape "sealant". That's horrible!!! That and the fact that you don't return phone calls & are so hard to contact. Terrible service! My gallon of organic almond oil came in a collapsible plastic jug that leaked all over the rest of my order. Is it even organic, or did it just say that for fun? Gave answers that "suds" make you "clean" um, dont tell Cetaphil.......that is not correct and when advised that suds are not the only thing that make one clean, Barb emailed me to say " she has all of my information"?? This is the best quality product I was able to find online. Unless I made it myself, which I didn't have the time for this year, It couldn't get any better. The melt and pour clear glycerine was clean and lathered very nicely and left my skin soft and clean but not rubbery like some other soaps. It was all well packaged and weighed perfectly. I feel like I may have even gotten one extra pound of soap. It's a small business so it takes a bit to receive the products but I have to say it's worth it. My soaps came out looking and smelling great. The owner is very responsive to email and was also kind in addressing some concerns I had. This product and the service was worth it. read more

I have ordered from Organic Creations many times and I've also ordered from Barb's competitors including MakingCosmetics, LotionCrafter, WholesaleSuppliesPlus,and IngredientsToDieFor. Unfortunately I have to say that all of these companies offer better service than Organic Creations. Some issues: 1. Though Organic Creations is the name of the company, very few ingredients are certified organic. She may use some organic ingredients, but it's difficult to find any products which have a Certified Organic symbol on the website or on the packaging. I think we are supposed to take her word for it? 2. Essential oils come in plastic bottles "sealed" with electrical tape, powders come in thin plastic baggies which can easily tear. Packaging is an issue. 3. Orders take a *very* long time to process. In some cases, orders have taken 2 weeks to arrive at the doorstep. I've never had to wait as long for an order using any of her competitors. 4. Questions are answered a little rudely. I thought she was only being rude to me, but according to the other reviews, she seems to be quite short with everyone. It might help to have an assistant answering the emails and phones. It's a shame because I think some of the questions and suggestions people pose should be taken seriously. 5. Shipping is usually about 20% of the total charge of my order, which is a little pricey. WholesaleSuppliesPlus and MakingCosmetics has cheaper shipping. A positive: 1. This is the worst! This was my first order from this company. I ordered several items ...the quality is AWFUL! The items I ordered look (packaging and labeling) look horrible except one item; which I can't even verify because it's a powder. The coffee butter smells like it's been sitting for years...not to mention it is definitely not a coffee smell and the label is something totally different than what was described and packaged (color and aroma). It is a dark chocolate color. It is supposed to be tan. It smells HORRIBLE! Definitely not like coffee. I am so aggravated with this purchase. A complete waste of my time (waiting) and money! I just got my, probably third or fourth, order from this company today. They have a slow turn-around but you're informed of that well in advance. Personally, I'm happy to wait a few weeks to get my order because I know the products I get are going to be top quality! I have never been disappointed with an order and there's always some awesome little sample pack in the box which is always exciting to play with. I really don't understand all of the negative reviews. I've interacted with customer support an they've always been helpful and attentive. I love that they seal everything they send with electrical tape, it ensures no leaks or spills and that I get the entirety of the product I ordered. I order my essential oils and carrier oils and butters for various things I make for personal use (so I'm not a top dollar customer they give special treatment to or anything) from this company and have never been disappointed in either service or price! I really wanted to love this company. Shipping costs are too high. Prices for raw materials seem ok but the bases are very high compared to other sites. Very slow shipping also. Bases come in the 5 gallon buckets with no ID numbers, dates or ingredients lists so you need to create your own. I also ordered bases that looked and seemed different from time to time to consistency may be an issue. The hemp wash base comes a pretty green but quickly turns brown and separates completely without even adding anything to it. Just a lot of money for questionable products in my opinion. read more

I received my package and it came in the time they said it would. I appreciated that Barb stated that the lotion was made on order and that it would arrive to me fresh. That alone is worth a few extra days! Everything came clean and care was taken that the items would not leak or spill. I think her prices are fair and I am glad to do business with another small business that puts out quality products. What would make it a five star for me? Maybe a little better box ( it was a USPS box that clearly trekked it's way from Oregon to Michigan.) I think I also have a brown box preference. :) Possibly something as simple as a personal touch in the way it is packaged would help a little...like colored paper, or even a thank-you sticker. BEWARE! BARB HAS A MAJOR TEMPER. I used to buy from this site because they had decent prices, but the hassle of communicating with Barb, their only rep (possibly owner) proved too much for the, in comparison, insignificant discount (the difference made even smaller with other reliable raw material suppliers' emergence). My most recent order was so disastrous that I will never buy from this site again. I have completely lost faith in them. I placed an emergency order and requested that she expedite it for same day shipment. She emails me back "We'll do it for you." FOUR days later and she still has NOT shipped it. If you make a promise to a customer you should keep it instead of stringing them along just to keep the order. (FIRST WARNING: LYING) So I tried calling her multiple times to discuss, but she will NEVER pick up the phone or return my messages. (SECOND WARNING: AVOIDANCE) I then email and ask her to cancel the order ONLY IF it will not arrive by the deadline. She emails back saying it will arrive based on her experience that USPS mail only take 3 days from Oregon to the east coast, but then emails me again moments later to cancel my invoice, giving me no choice in the matter (TINY WINDOW, NO CALLS, without a thought to how much understanding and faith I gave her to begin with). If it was that urgent for her to have my confirmation, I would have appreciated a call since I distinctly remember leaving a phone number on file. I had read the other reviews and had a feeling Barb might be slightly difficult to deal with, so I was especially careful to be polite and graceful to her despite the initial fiasco. The feeling I get from communicating with her is that she is quite vindictive, the type who can smile sweetly and stab you in the back at the same time. So it turns out all my efforts were in vain. If she did not string me along for the initial ride, I could have placed an order elsewhere and still gotten it in time. The end result is that all the losses are borne by me alone. This company is a stellar example of what UN-PROFESSIONAL is. They certainly do not care for their customers, not a tiny bit even for repeat customers who's always been in good standing with them. They ask for understanding, yet they never reciprocate that understanding for the customers. I feel lied to, a fool for believing her initially...and so I will take my loyalty elsewhere. The good news is with the increasing popularity of natural and DIY cosmetics in general, many more suppliers with better prices and products have come into existence, and so I no longer have to rely on organic creations. My other emergency order for Carbomer 940 (google search: ingredients carbomer 940 buy) went very very well. This other company, knowing of my emergency, upgraded my shipping and got my package out before even receiving the shipping charge difference, and that was my first order with them. I have been buying product from Organic Creations for about 5 yrs. I had to leap to their defense when I saw all these negative reviews. I am a soap/body/skin product hobbyist/prolific gift-giver, not a business person, so my order volume is not huge. I have placed maybe 10-12 orders with them over the years. My orders are usually for less than $100 and consisting of products in relatively small volume but comprised of 5-15 different SKUs including M&P soap bases, essential oils, butters, carrier oils, botanicals, etc. I order from a couple other suppliers as well but I prefer OC because: Barb has always given friendly, fast customer service. I have grilled her with questions seeking advice about formulations and she's been quick to reply. When I have pined for my order on a couple occasions I emailed Barb and she replied fast with apologies and a shipping update. I think their products cost less without sacrificing quality. I love their melt and pour soap bases - very short, clean ingredient list, makes a beautiful end product. It is the only base I buy. They almost always have everything I need, a large list of ingredients, some quite obscure. I have never been overcharged, under shipped, unhappy. Never. I get the feeling this is a small family/individual-owned company and I like that. I like that they ship in recycled cartons with reused styrofoam peanuts. I have never received damaged goods. The cartons are usually not pretty but they serve their purpose fine. I appreciate that they put electrical tape around the neck/cap of every liquid - I have never had a leak yet in any of their boxes! Why would you NOT do this? Their pricing is great. I feel their product packaging is fine. I have never been shipped essential oils in plastic bottles but I also have never ordered anything larger than a 2ozbottle. I don't care if my clays or botanicals come in plastic bags. I have not had a leakage or freshness problem and it probably helps keep the cost down. The only reason I don't give OC 5 stars is the long shipping lead time. It's a drag sometimes but I know what to expect going into it and to me everything else they offer outweighs that. read more

I like what I have tried so far. The shampoo is awesome; enough slip and foam to clean my super long hair and scalp without leaving it overly dry or oily. The conditioner is perfect; enough moisturizers without being too oily. I also like the fact that both are gluten free. My ultimate test is whether or not my scalp itches after I use a product - and it doesn't itch, so yeah, I'm sold! (I bought sample bottles of everything, so I am good for a while - but, I will reorder my favorites). In this day and age the gold standard for order fulfillment is Amazon and I am used to almost immediate gratification. So, I do have to echo what another reviewer said about customer service. Shipping is pricey, especially for the length of time it takes to get to me after I order (and unless the customer calls there is no way to know if the order shipped or how to track it). (Amazon will also list, sell and ship stuff so, maybe that would help with simple order fulfillment, like sample sizes?) Also, as a small business owner I understand how hard it is to find good employees to help out and it can be irritating to have to do everything by myself. It is also hard to find the "sweet spot" for order tracking software. It would really help if there was a way for the company to use shipping software to "track" my order (UPS or FEDEX comes to mind -- maybe there is no UPS or FEDEX near there?). It does take a little bit of time for the products to make it to me but I am pretty much as far on the other side of the country as you can get. I've only ever had one problem with an item being left out of a lotion kit but Barb responded very quickly to let me know that she would get it into the mail to me as soon as possible. I'm very confused as to why all of the good reviews for this company are listed here as not recommended and are not factoring into the company's overall rating??!! I bought items from here before, oils, henna, butters. I didn't have a problem with bottles with electrical tape or plastic baggies. They did the job of containing the materials just fine for me. In fact, if I'm recalling right, I had an issue with one and it was fixed after one email. However, I just went to make my second order and before I even put anything in my cart it says shipping would be $40 something dollars!! Huh? Why? It was not that much before. I ship a lot of hair products through ebay and I know shipping can get expensive. However, a 5 pound box shipped across the country is less than $25. If it is on the same coast ( I am in CA and the company is in Oregon), shipping is MUCH cheaper. There is no way that my order (remember I hadn't even added anything yet, what if I was only buying a 1 oz bottle??) would be over $40. By the time I added all my items (2 oz oil, 4 oz oil, 1/2 lb bag each of 2 butters, 4oz henna and 8oz of clay powder), the cost of the combined items was only $40 but the shipping was $68!! To ship to a bordering state. Are you kidding me?? About 60% of my total cost is shipping??? RIDICULOUS!!
