I've had appointments with Claire and Apita; both are professional and very effiecient. The establisment is easy to fine [2nd floor Montgomery Ave] and very clean. It's prices are in line with Bethesda and I've noticed womens sugaring is much cheaper than mens but that's kinda obvious. Men tend to be harier and more 'bits' to work around. This was my first ever hair removal sugar waxing and it was an amazing first experience. My appointment was with Apita, she was very friendly and we had a lovely chat during my appointment. This was a real sugaring experience... aka. no wax, no application stick, no fabric strips. Before booking my appointment I used their website to gain a lot of information for different services (with detailed descriptions) and general sugaring FAQs. After making an appointment I was emailed preparation, driving, and parking instructions. It was extremely helpful. At my appointment I was walked through every step with care and concern for my comfort. I was given a lot of room to take things at my own pace and when I realized I could handle more I was able to add on some more hair removal services during my appointment. The prices are great and there was no pressure to tip. The employees working at the front desk were also lovely. All in all it was an amazing experience and a positive atmosphere. I am writing this review with such a heavy heart. I've been going to OSC for exactly a year and during that time I've been serviced by most of the staff. I've never missed an appointment and the staff and I have always treated each other with respect. No complaints from me there. What hurt the most was my most recent visit. I took a nap before my appointment (I work night shifts at a hospital and I wanted to be serviced by Claire whose earliest availability was 11:30am). I ended up oversleeping and called OSC as soon as I woke up. Unfortunately, it was past my appointment time but I wanted to see if it was possible for me to reschedule for later on in the day. I was so lucky that they had two time slots available, so I snatched one up and showed up to my new appointment on time. So I was charged $65 (100% of the service that I missed) AND I was charged an additional $65 dollars for the service that I ACTUALLY ended up receiving. I spent $130 dollars on ONE Brazilian wax. This information is outlined in their policy and I understand that it's a business; however, I believe that the best way to retain customers is to make exceptions. My second to last visit was pushed back 30 minutes by the tech who was supposed to service me because she was running late due to a medical appointment. I ended up not being serviced by the individual, but instead by her colleague that was servicing me for the very first time. I was very understanding of the situation as many people wouldn't feel comfortable being seen by another technician to get a Brazilian wax or would even be upset that their appointment had to be pushed back. I've been regularly sugaring for about the past six years. I've only ever done that method for Brazilians. I have done hard waxing for my armpits and my eyebrows, and it was just fine there. But I don't think I'd want it on a more sensitive area. We just moved to the area this past summer and I was happy to find that I had a couple of businesses to try here. This was the second one I visited and definitely the one I preferred! It's a little bit more expensive, but the woman I've seen the past two times was super easy to talk to, not to mention the smoothest Sugaring I've ever had! Her name is Colleen and she is totally awesome! Next month it looks like she's booked up and I will be using someone else who works there and I'm excited to see how they are. There is no on-site parking for this place, however. But it is literally right next-door to a garage where you can pay for parking through an app. Very easy! When the sugaring aspect was repeatedly brought to my attention, I opted to try it out. The Check In offer for a discounted price & a 5 minute walk from work was a plus. Pros: -Waxing paste (reminds me of a ball of honey) is a Sugar, Lemon & Water soluble with no residue. -One gloved hand for the dipping & the other gloved hand for the sugaring. -Hair removal was smooth. -Apita, my Technician was professional, precise & extremely detailed...THANKS APITA! -The exfoliation from the sugar left my skin very smooth, shiny & not dry or flaky. -The service room was clean with all supplies being visibly staged. -OSC is quaint although located inside an outdated office building that could use a facelift. The only Con is it's almost the double time oppose to regular Waxing. With this visit, "We" appreciate the non-usage of hot wax & strips being ripped off that "We" have been accustomed to for decades. I'll return a few more times to try out Organic Sugaring Center to truly see if the benefits are visible & worthwhile. I had no idea what sugaring was but due to all of the positive reviews thought I would give it a try. Plus with the discounted new client rate, I couldn't say no! You can easily book online and opt into the automatic text reminder system which is great. You go into a pretty basic office building and head to the back of a hall (sounds sketch but it's not). The office is small but sufficient for what they need. They have a handful of treatment rooms and everything is nice and clean. I was greeted and checking in quickly. Nita performed my wax and was very professional and swift. It's never a pleasant experience but she made it quick and easy. This was my first time getting a sugar wax and I think I am definitely going to switch from the hard waxes I had been getting at the infamous big name waxing spot. Sugaring, in my opinion, is less painful than the hard wax and while the process takes about the same amount of time, it feels shorter due to the method of sugaring. A did see that some people were not thrilled with the location but I felt that it was fine. It was clean, there is a parking garage with meters right beside the building, and overall the experience was just fine. Your first sugar wax with them is $50 and the subsequent ones are $65 (debit/credit card) and $60 (cash)! I will be back in 4-5 weeks with my cash in hand!!! read more

My last review over two years ago still stand - I will stay loyal to this place forever. I go every 8-10 weeks or so, and I've never had a single bad experience. There are several 5-star aspects to this review: Apita and Claire - The sisters who run and own the center are top notch. They are both professional, gentle, calm, personable, and clear in their explanation of what's going to happen during your session. The amount of time and attention to detail is incredible. Sugar waxing - I will NEVER go back to any other type of wax. Regular waxing would leave my skin extremely irritated for days. Not to mention the ingrown hairs that would pop up days/weeks later. With sugaring, I have none of this! My skin is perfect when I leave and never gets irritated. No bumps, no ingrown hairs, just perfectly smooth skin. The Center Itself - Don't let the dated building fool you. Inside the office itself is lovely. Beautiful little rooms, with pretty turquoise walls, soothing music, and utterly spotless. On top of that, I've never seen any double dipping into the sugar wax, all instruments, like tweezers, are used and then dropped into a cleaning solution and not just put back on the table to be used again. Additionally, there is a parking garage directly next to the building. The bottom line, I won't go anywhere else! I cannot say enough nice things about the place itself but more importantly, about Apita and Claire. I see Claire at least monthly for a full Brazillian and ladies can understand how intimate a process it is and I couldn't be more comfortable there. read more

I could not be happier with my experience at Organic Sugaring Center. Claire was awesome and made me feel very comfortable throughout. I had my armpits waxed and bikini line sugared, and while Claire was great with both, I will never wax again if I can help it. I'm 1000% sold on sugaring. It was so much less painful than waxing, and required a lot less plucking for leftover hairs. 12 hours later, my armpits are still sore, but my bikini line feels like nothing ever happened. I texted all of my friends after telling them they need to switch to sugaring. Apart from the actual waxing/sugaring experience, I do think the center could benefit from some renovating. It's located in a random, older office building and the center itself is outdated and basic. The talent outweighs the frill-free atmosphere, so don't let that hold you back. read more

After today's experience I will NEVER come back here again. I've been coming here for quite sometime and really enjoyed my service with Claire specifically. Today I had an appointment at 10am. However my roommate tested positive for COVID this morning around 8:30. So I decided to go get tested and cancel my appointment. I called this morning and left a message to ask if I can transfer my appointment to another day since my roommate tested positive and as a nurse I didn't want to put her and her staff in harms way. She called me back around 9 and asked me why I was canceling and I explained my situation to her. They do have a strict cancellation policy which I am aware of and understand. I have never cancelled an appointment as well. Claires response was "we can't keep doing this...our business is suffering" I was livid! Mind you we are in the middle of the pandemic and must remain flexible. I expected her response to be "thank you for informing us and keeping us safe" not berate me for cancelling because of an exposure. she then went to say the person you have an appointment with is waiting and other clients have wanted this appointment. Our business is suffers when people do this. So I told her I just found out this morning and you guys don't open until 10am which was the same time as my appointment...how is this my fault. Long story short they care strictly about business and not their clients! I am super disappointed and disgusted about the way I was treated for attempting to keep every other customer and employee safe by doing the right thing. I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN! To know my honesty and integrity didn't matter I've lost trust in Claire and her business. She didn't even try to rectify the situation it was strictly about they money, not that I've been a client for months but because I cancelled my appointment short notice because I've been exposed to Covid by someone I live with and instead of going to my appointment knowing this I decided to get tested instead and was penalized and made to feel bad that the person who was suppose to wax me was waiting. Girl. This was my first time getting sugared (i normally go to Bliss in the W to get waxed) and it hurt more than i expected. With waxing the technician waits until the wax hardens so you have time to prepare yourself for the pain. With sugaring once laid its pulled off swiftly no real pause to prepare. However, my technician was very very very thorough. She got everything and even went back to get rid of ingrown hairs. She worked fast and she was patient with me.
