Almost 3 years ago, my mom had George come to her house to repair a pinball machine. He went twice to 'repair' the machine. The second time he was there, George chatted her up and spun a tale that pulled at her heartstrings. He and his wife were in the process of adoption! There was so much to do! They couldn't wait to go next week to finalize the adoption! This, of course, is a tactic often used by people who prey on others: create a version of yourself as an upstanding family man who cares. Well, George doesn't care. He got my mom to lower her guard and pay in advance (something I have always strongly cautioned my mom not to do). George took parts of the pinball machine along with her hard-earned money. He promised to be back within a couple weeks after he got the parts he needed. This was all a pile of lies. George never came back, never returned the parts, and never gave my mom back her money. As soon as George got what he wanted, he vanished. A few months after, he claimed he was on his way that day and then backed out with a ridiculous excuse. No matter how many calls or text messages she sent, George never responded. I have reached out numerous times as well with similar results. His voicemail is full, probably from all the messages left by angry customers. People who prey on elderly should be ashamed of themselves. They should also be prosecuted. My next step is to go to the police and file a report of stolen property, as I have exhausted all other options. We have spent almost three years attempting to contact him only to be ignored each time. George is a wizard. Not a pinball wizard, but a wizard of lies, deceit, and predatory business practices. If you value your money or the ethics of a business, please go find another pinball repair shop. Do not be fooled or tricked by this charlatan.

And so began the work to get it out. A trap was set on a Thursday morning and by Monday morning the raccoon was trapped. Every morning someone came out to look at the trap to see if anything had been trapped. After the raccoon was trapped, another trap was placed to stay up there for a few days to make sure there is only one. Thanks Harries! Managers do not hold their home care reps accountable when they takeoff early, or run out during their work hours without notifying anyone. One worker in particular Lillian is the worst offender. She makes excuses, blatantly lies. She believes she has the upper hand because she knows my grandma likes her cooking, but that does not give a Home care person the right to dangerously leave their patrons at home without notifying anyone. Complaints have been made to her manager and they are not concerned about the dangers of this particular home care employee leaving my grandma on her own when she is suppose to be in her care. It appears she is moonlighting or something because she takes off for more than an hour and leaves my grandma alone. When I see that she has a lot of time to spare, we asked if she can give her a bath and she says she doesn't have enough time?!? But clearly she does. CASL needs to do a thorough performance review of all of their Home Care reps, or this one in particular, otherwise if anything happens during the time that they are supposed to be watching their patrons, then CASL could be sued for neglect. The sad part is that the managers are accepting this behavior because they have found it difficult to recruit good talent for this occupation.
