I had a large ivory hand made table cloth, 16 napkins and a couple of other items. 5 napkins had some yellow stains as well as one medium size yellow stain on table cloth. I was a first time customer, and was told the table cloth would cost $55 when other places charge $90 the owner said. I mentioned she came highly recommended and was told they Can remove any stains.i was charged $4.50 per napkin which was quite high. My total bill was $182!! Turns out 5 napkins still had the dark yellow stains as well as the table cloth. I would have hoped for a phone call previous to picking up letting me know they could not remove them. Instead I got home and went thru each one And found it. I meant to return but too much time lapsed. Overpriced for an unsatisfactory job. read more

I found them to be quite pricey! The shirts never smelled clean---like they were washed in dirty water. A full length sweater came back as a vest. I went back to the best cleaner I've ever had--- Wilmette Tailor and Cleaner. It's not as convenient since I live in Northfield but it is worth it to get my clothes clean at 1/2 the price Youngren charges. read more

Great cleaners and an excellent tailor! If you have a nice piece of clothing you need cleaned or tailored, I would highly recommend Youngren's. The only reason for the 4 stars is that they are on the high end of the price scale for cleaners in the area. RUN from this cleaners. They will cheat you and steal your clothes. My boyfriend went in and paid with cash then I went in and she told me we owed and I paid with my credit card. This happened numerous times, until my boyfriend and I realized what was happening! When confronted, Youngren became very defensive. She also "lost" 3 shirts and a very special jacket. I have no doubt she is wearing my jacket. I'd rather just learn and move on but decided to post a review after hearing so many people say that they too have been cheated by Youngren. She does not mark the receipt with a price and criticizes customers when they ask the price. To one friend she replied, "no one in this town asks the price, you're not from here". Prices are higher than market. Stains not removed from clothing. Not a good citizen in the neighborhood. Put up barricades so people can't get to the business next door . Just plain bad in all respects! Better choices. read more

I cannot even give this hole 1 star. I had a dress altered for a wedding in Seattle. I picked up the dress on time, but, when I got home I noticed a 6 inch black line of (grease?) or something on the left hip of the dress. I took it back and asked them to clean it and they actually wanted me to pay to clean thir mistake. The barely English speaking seamstress said the mark was on the dress when I brought it in to be measured. If you were a business owner, wouldn't you bring that mark to the patron's attention and ask if they wanted it cleaned and altered? I called the bride, boxed up the dress and sent it to Seattle where her dry cleaner removed the offending mark for FREE while she waited. read more
