I was pleasantly surprised that Origami was quite a good Korean restaurant in Fort Myers. I had heard from so many friends that Fort Myers was really lacking quality Asian food. But having coming here, I'm glad that this place is representing well and holding down the fort. The ambiance of the restaurant is ok. I personally think a remodel could be used in a few places. But the service overall was good. Very friendly waitress that made sure our drinks were always filled. I got the Kimchi Jjigae and it was quite good. Good sized chunks of tender meat, lots of vegetables, and a deep and spicy broth. Overall, a good place to go to for Korean food in Fort Myers :) read more

Did not know they changed owners so my gift card was not accepted. In case anyone also had a gift card just be aware it may not be accepted. Service was a bit slow at early dining time. I did enjoy the flavors of the food. Beef Bulgolgi was large portion. Galbi also delicious. The Ban Chan sides were a little disappointing though, we thought we could have more options with our main entree meal but you can only choose 1 side. Salad, or soup, or Ban Chan. We were not used to that, compared to other places. Kimchi or the sides is usually included with your meal as a pairing for your entree. This was a spontaneous date night out. We couldn't have been happier with our server Shephanie. She greeted us quickly and took our order with a smile on her face. This restaurant in Ft Myers with sushi and bento box. I was here for lunch on assignment to Ft. Myers. I got the lunch special of the day. I have the bento box with salmon teriyaki. The combo come with two nigiri, half California roll, rice, slice of Orange, and miso soup. I would said slice of Orange is cheap for the box. Overall the salmon is well cook and tasty. Piece of salmon is small but no complaints. Service is good but a bit slow for lunch. Usually lunch crowds don't have a lot of time. The response time need a bit faster. read more

We came here last year and place was packed and had a good experience. Unfortunately this time was not so good. Restaurant was empty, service was slow, weak drinks, food was not as expected compared to our last visit. We ordered maki rolls, beef and noodles, fried rice and chicken tempura. Went for dinner around 9 pm and it was very disappointing to say the least. Wanted to start with Korean Fried Chicken and the waitress immediately asked if I was sure since it takes a long time. I understand the restaurant closes in an hour so I ended up getting the edamame but afterwards thought it was rude of her to try to change what I wanted. The edamame was not bad but is probably the bottom of my list of all the edamame I've had which is a lot since I always order that at Asian restaurants. Food is expensive here. We ordered 5 things, and were happy with just the Lousiana toll. The Florida roll was very bland. Age-dashi tofu was not what we expected. It was dry on the inside. Miso soup portion was tiny, and is usually complimentary at other places. House salad portion is also tiny. Ginger dressing almost tastes like vinegar and ginger. My daughter, husband, and I went to eat dinner at Origami for my daughter's 18th birthday. I loved their large, beautiful fountain and lights outside their front entrance. Very good for pictures! When we went inside, we were greeted by friendly staff, who took us to our table. For appetizers, we ordered: the Spicy Crab Spring Roll and the Gyoza (steamed potstickers). I ordered: clear soup, ginger house salad, and Naruto Roll (no rice). My husband ordered the udon bowl and my daughter ordered a very tasty sushi roll also (we just don't remember the name). I ordered the lava drops since they were BOGO on Uber Eats. Those we delicious. I also ordered the Louisiana roll, spicy tuna, bbq beef roll, angry shrimp, and baby octopus salad. The baby octopus salad was a hit too. The bbq beef roll was messy and fell apart everywhere when trying to eat it. There was an off flavor too that I did not care for. Origami is a Korean restaurant located in a small strip mall. We are outside, so I didn't get to see much of the interior. Upon entering was the sushi bar and bar. The service was impeccable! Our hostess immediately sat us outside, and came out to place our drink orders. We ordered the house signature drink and I highly recommend it! It's not too sweet, but the alcohol isn't overpowering. We had ordered the gyoza and kimchi pancake for an appetizer. The kimchi pancake is large enough to share. I had ordered the japchae, and the size was enough to share. 3 things about this place: 1. Very clean place and professional staffs all around. Restaurant is spacious and the owner checks to every table to see how everything is. Last time I came here was November of 2020 and the owner recognized my sister and I as well as where we sat last time. So she wants to do well for her customers to enjoy while they're at the restaurant. Also, she stated that new items will be added to the menu very soon so stay tuned for that! 2. I don't know if they did this when they opened or when the pandemic happened, but what I thought to be unique and enjoyable was that they serve you side dishes to each person instead of having one side dishes in the middle and everyone to share. I have been to numerous Korean restaurants and this place is the first one to do that. 3. Foods were very tasteful, qualities were good, and portions were pretty big. Spicy seafood tofu soup was a little salty but in general, satisfying. Spicy seafood udon's noodle was different from what I have been used to. I actually enjoyed this type noodle more than the other places that served this item. They seemed to be using frozen seafood though. If one doesn't know which Korean food to choose, what I enjoyed at this restaurant was the stone pot bibimbap. Highly recommend. It's a little tight. They only have 7 bbq tables, 4 of which fit parties of 6, the other 3 fit only parties of 4 or less. You're squeezed back to back, chairs touching. For some reason, the last table can't be used because it's occupied by a stroller and baby seat, as well as a standing heater. They have a large selection of drinks, one of the largest I've ever seen, in fact. But everything is overpriced. Even just the classic ramune bottle is $6 per bottle. Insane. I've only ever paid that much for ramune on 1 other occasion, and I was in Vegas at the time, everything was overpriced. Table is crowded by just drinks, waiter had to use 2 other tables just to put our stuff down so he could set up the grill. My friend's steamed gyoza took about 30 minutes to show up. Not the worst I've seen, but close. Other friend ordered a sampler platter for 2, that didn't show up until after we all had our meals in front of us 3rd friend ordered the cooked beef bulgogi, that was the best dish. Good sauce. Good cuts. My bbq chicken bulgogi was marinated in a really sweet sauce. The pieces came to me already cut up and bite size, so no scissors to cut. But I ended up hot really enjoying it too much because of how sweet the marinade was on the chicken. Overall, not the worst restaurant I've been to, and I might even come back to try the sushi bar, but it's not someplace I would recommend for those wanting purely kbbq, which is what I came for. read more

I last visited when they were in the Cypress shopping center, a very long time ago but remembered it always being really good back in the day. Ordered from here using Uber Eats. The meal portions hear are a good size for the price. I ordered the 2 roll dinner which also came with soup and a salad. Picked the clear soup, which I had never heard of, since I am not a fan of miso. The broth is different then what I had expected as the description was a chicken broth but it had a odd after taste that I am not used to. I was still good but not what I am used too. The salad came with your choice of ginger or sesame dressing. The sesame was amazing. Then with the sushi- I had the Tampa roll and the spicy tuna. This was the best part of the meal. This was my first time visiting Origami as well as my first time "dining in" at restaurant since the pandemic. The restaurant states they were seating to 25% capacity, we noticed that upon entering. There were only a handful of tables and they were spaced out. Our server was friendly but was not wearing a face mask. He did however keep a safe distance. He was attentive without being overbearing. The menu selection is pretty extensive and I had a difficult time choosing just one dish. Ultimately I chose the spicy Thai chicken which is described as boneless chicken breast in a creamy coconut sauce, with a hint of thai basil and chili. The dish was served w/a side of pineapple rice and came with both soup (choice of miso or clear) and salad (choice of sesame or ginger dressing). The meal was delicious from start to finish. My daughter wanted Korean food for her birthday dinner, so we decided to try Origami in Fort Myers. We're so glad we did. Food was outstanding! I chose the galbi (pictured below)- braised short ribs were so tender and flavorful. My daughter wanted jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) and was thrilled- they had the same taste as her favorite Korean restaurant back home. My husband enjoyed his pork fried rice. My son went with a Bento box and loved it. My daughter and I decided to try mixed drinks- I had a Blue Buddha (very strong- glad I wasn't the designated driver) and my daughter had a Red Lipstick. Both drinks were strong and tasted good. Wait staff was very attentive and so kind. They brought our orders quickly and there was one slight error that was quickly rectified- my son had ordered sushi with his Bento box and it was missing. Origami was a place I went to a very LONG time ago and on came back because of my children. A bit on the pricey side but well worth it. The #1 roll is a must try, volcano and the Naruto (cucumber wrapped) are fantastic! We've been here 4 times in 2 1/2 months and it just taste better and better.
