After 6 wonderful years at Origin, I'm sad to write that I'm relocating to Houston for business. I'm sad because I did everything in my power to avoid relocating. Why, you ask? Because this place is PERFECT! I've lived in a ton of apartments, and this place is the best, hands down. I have so much to rave about, but I'll try to hit the important things in this review. - First, this location can't be beat. Period! I've lived all over the US, and not only is Frisco one of the hottest areas in the metroplex, this property is close to literally EVERYTHING. I don't think you hear me. Every-freakin'-thing. No exaggeration, there's not a single thing that I need that I can't get to within minutes. I can walk to my doctor, dentist, physical therapist, Target, the dry cleaner, the mall, central park...you name it, it's nearby. I can run 10 weekend errands in less than an hour. The Centre at Preston Ridge is within walking distance and has everything you might need. The Stonebriar Mall is just across the street. Preston Road is adjacent and has a ton of retail and dining. It's unreal. Let's not even talk about all of the dining, shopping, and entertainment options. You're 3 min. from The Star, 5-7 min. from Shops of Legacy and Legacy West, and 10 min. from the Colony. Want to head to Dallas? You're right of off the Dallas North Tollway and can get to Uptown Dallas in 20-25 min - straight shot. Deep Ellum in 30 min. Can't beat that! - The management staff is friendly, available, and extremely helpful. Maintenance requests are fulfilled almost immediately. I've had many over 6 years and have never waited more than 24 hours, if that. Maintenance usually comes knocking within the hour of the request. The property is well maintained in the common areas and around the outside of the building. - It's extremely quiet/relatively crime free. I've never had an issue with a neighbor or noise. All of the tenants are very respectful of the property. As far as crime, I've personally never had an issue although I've heard of some petty crime in the general area. No packages lost or stolen, and I've never had any issues with my car (I park one car in my assigned spot and one car on the street). I walk my dog as late as 2 am sometimes, and I never feel unsafe. You could probably leave your front doors unlocked, although I don't recommend it. The police presence is pretty high around here and there's a resident officer. - Speaking of dogs, they have a great dog park here, but who needs it? There's a ton of green space nearby, including Central Park and a decent sized pond next to it. It's beautiful to walk there year round, but Spring and Fall are my favorites. This is a very pet friendly property, and you'll always catch people walking their fur-babies. - The pool is simply amazing...and it's never crowded. It blows my mind! It's open until midnight in the Summer, and it's the perfect place to cool off. They have a lap pool and resort style pool. It's very well maintained and clean at all times. Outside of the pandemic, I've never seen it closed during the season. You hear horror stories at other properties of the amenities always being down but not here. They also have grills all around the pool, so you can cook out while you swim. - The gym is state of the art, although I never really utilized it. Like the pool, it's generally crowd free and is always clean. You can definitely skip the gym membership if you live here. - The rent is reasonable here relative to other properties in the area, and the floor plans are fantastic. I have an 870 sq ft unit on the first floor. I get so many compliments on it. I love it! I've also done an apartment transfer during my time there, and process was seamless. The best part - I got 100% of my deposit back with no hassle. Unlike some other properties, Origin doesn't try to get you for your deposit. Oh yeah...they also let you paint two walls, which is nice. Look...I could on and on and on about this place. I absolutely love it. It breaks my heart to leave. Have I had my occasional gripe here and there? Sure, but they were small things in the grand scheme of things and never enough to make me think about moving. I'll leave you with this - if you're moving to Frisco from out of state, or if you're from here and in search of something new, stop searching. This is your place. Move here. read more

Amanda here!!! :) Oh my god! Where to begin with THIS AMAZING PROPERTY & TEAM?!?! Ya'll have been AH-MAZING in everything! Everyone's been always friendly, maintenance has been amazing & friendly in showing us how to take out the coiled stove burners so we can clean underneath & helped my MIL fix her "toilet issue" to say the least, the cleanliness of the hallways and apartments are top notch (including no roaches!!!!)! The amenities are nice. I'm not really a gym user since I currently get my steps in from work, but OH MY GOODNESS! I LOVE THE POOLS! Our view is the BEAUTIFUL LOUNGE POOL that I'm currently viewing as I'm raving about this property! Our rent is SO REASONABLE (for these unprecedented times) for a 2 bed & 2 bath 1150+ sq. ft. apartment ($2K a month, thank you!) with a washer and dryer they just installed and no one has ever used (yay!)! The fixtures are beautiful! Love the layout and the island in the kitchen! We moved in on January 31st and Bethani & the management team has been SO AMAZING in making us feel comfortable putting each of our names on the lease and never made us feel like they "couldn't discuss things with me" despite my husband being the only one with the better credit. I still am learning all the names of our leasing team, but shoutout to them for being so friendly and giving a welcoming atmosphere when we enter the office! Bethani has been so great tirelessly working with us from the time we walked in the doors like 10 minutes before close on Saturday (I think?) to seeing the property again during the day to trying to get renter's insurance and everything in between! The parking garage is a plus, as well as the little lounge area behind the leasing office with the wifi, trash chute, the friendly residents, and the location. I keep needing to explore the "cave?" I work 40+ hours, so I haven't done it, yet. BUT we are pleased with our decision to take a leap of faith of moving into this property and living in Frisco, Texas! So all in all, 30 days about in to call home, and so far so good! Thankful, my loving husband found this gem in such a short time! P.S. I hear people "complaining" about the thinness of the "walls", but I feel like that's everywhere. Apartment complexes don't usually have thick walls, at least not in my experience, but everyone's really quiet. The only thing I hear is when the water is being flushed or when people are sliding things on the floor which doesn't really bother me nor my husband or MIL. So far no "weird sex noises from the neighbors above" (FRIENDS reference just in case ya'll don't get that) so all in all, I'm pretty content with my husband's finding and our decision to call this place home as I'm sure he is as well. read more

TERRIBLE STAFF. The apartments smell like marijuana all in the rooms and the hall, constantly stink. No one answers the phone. The staff is so rude and are the least professional people I've ever met. Taylor is extremely unhelpful and is supposedly the only person that can "help". Wouldn't recommend living here, they are money suckers. read more

Moving into an active construction zone 16 months ago had its trying moments, and inconveniences. But overall, if you know what you are getting into this shouldn't be a reason to give a lesser review. Now to the real stuff, I wish the water heaters had a larger capacity. The great garden tubs are useless unless you plan on boiling water to add to the tub after the tank empties itself of lukewarm water. Additionally, it would be nice to have the ability to adjust the water heaters temp so that when I do have to run the tank twice, the water from the first cycle isn't ice cold. Allowing pets means requiring more maintenance. The cleaning services staff should be brought in more often to get rid of the urine smells throughout the hallways and stairwells. I've had some issues with moisture seeping in from seals around windows and doors. This is more a construction issue but Moises was quick to fix it, and trust me when I say that a quality maintenance team makes all of the difference in apartment living. Moises has never made me feel Uncomfortable with the idea of him being in my home without me there. The office staff is wonderful, we all can have our moments, but this staff always puts a smile on my face even when I'm being a brat. In summary, is it perfect? No. But it's because of lazy pet owners and rapid construction. read more

While this location is EXTREMELY IDEAL in this area, we have many other reasons for enjoying living at The Origin. By far the CLEANEST apartment complex I have ever lived at. The staff is always attentive, friendly and willing to help. Possibly one of my favorite aspects is the maintenance crew, we have had any issues fixed every single time within 24 hours of scheduling a maintenance request. I'm extremely picky about where I live and what size apartment I have, very happy with this complex and location. Highly recommend!! read more

I have lived here for about 6 months now and I'm 100% loving it. The staff is always friendly, it's great if u have a furry friend, and it's always clean and quiet. I have seen comments about the dog accidents in the halls. Does that occasionally happen? Yes. But not often and they are quick to clean it up. If u read a bad review on here just know people always will find something to complain about. I have high standards and like my apartment quiet and welcoming and this is the exact feeling I get living here. Just moved to Texas from Arkansas and was looking for a new place around Frisco, TX. I called a few properties and went on tours. I'm very indecisive and Ellen sold me on the property. She took the time to show me the units I was interested in and all the new technology the Origins has to offer. Especially Patti, she was so sweet and understanding during my lease and even called me afterwords letting me know that I had left a few things behind on accident! Just want to provide a quick update on move-out (had to move due to a job change): The process went smoothly. Patti was quite helpful and we weren't charged for anything beyond what we expected (prorated rent, water, trash, etc). I cleaned the place myself and they didn't add any trumped up fees for extra cleaning, unlike our last couple of places. We had to leave early; handed in keys on a Sunday and they had a new tenant in the following Saturday. Very impressive! Definitely a great experience from start to finish! If you're considering this place, I really don't think there a better option in the area, so go for it. read more

this place rocks. they are a newer building with a nice layout. Incredibly clean. The guy mops the halls daily. Maintenance is done the day it's called in. I only had one issue because the place is new and they came within a couple hrs. and followed up with a call to make sure it was done. Patti is the manager and she is really accomodative. All the office staff is nice. Climate controlled hallways are nice when it rains or hot or windy days. It is close to both highways for easy access to airport for me. read more

PROS: Great Location, lovely apartment layout. Staff and Maintenance overall very professional and responsive. CONS: FIRE ALARMS at all times of the day. 7AM 9AM 5PM that go off for at least 30 minutes. This is Not ideal for people who work from home. Imagine if you had an important meeting or work phone call and these alarms went off. Not to talk about infants. WELL, it happens often enough to disrupt quality of life. I don't think management has done a good job getting down to the bottom of why these alarms go off so frequent. We've yet to get an explanation. They ring loudly so often that most people do not evacuate the building when they do go off. This scares me. If they fix this and the SECURITY problems that have occurred especially with cars inside the garages then I would give this complex 4.5 stars. read more

If you are looking for an upscale apartment this IS NOT the place for you. Have lived here for a year and the only reason have not left is that I am stuck here with my job until September 2018 and just don't want to have to move again before I pack up and head west for good. Manager is a good people person but the rest of the staff have their moments. Clientele has gone down since first moved in. Apartment allows pets but not all pet owners are responsible, they fail to clean up after them both outside and in the hallways. Nothing like walking down hallway and having to walk around dog feces and urine. Not the best construction either, half the time locks on the outside doors do not work. Also bad communication...example testing of fire system letter went out stating that you might hear horn throughout the day...has been running for the last 45 minutes. That is a little more periodically. These are just some of the issues with this apartment. Probably worst apartment experience I have had in over 30 years of apartment living. Hopefully not indicative of all apartments in the DFW area if so I do not see why anyone enjoys living here. read more
