If it could be zero stars, it would be... Our problem was never taken care of, even after 19 MONTHS of being patient and giving Orkin chances. We were sold a general plan for our mouse problem by a termite inspector, which probably should have been the first red flag... Overall, horrible service, despite some reasonably nice people working for them. I was repeatedly gaslit into believing they sealed up all entry points and that the mice I kept finding were stuck inside after they sealed the hole, so "that should be the last one." After 17 months of this, I was still unsatisfied and was offered to speak with the manager for the first time. He explains he's new but will make things right. The new manager, our usual tech, and another guy come over and replace quite a bit of newly infested insulation that they had just replaced a year before, when we first started with them. The manager listens to my thoughts on how fed up I am with their poor service, and he reveals that past workers who did our initial exclusion and insulation replacement were fired because of shoddy work. (Maybe that should have been looked into before I had to complain?! Maybe a quality audit on the homes they serviced -- which actually was offered to us once but never delivered as it was too much of a hassle to keep calling back to schedule it, so we largely cleaned up the layer of old insulation dust throughout our basement ourselves...as if they don't know that's a health hazard.) A few days later...another mouse. The new manager tries AGAIN to tell me they sealed up the last entry point, so that's the last one. At this point, I'm livid, so to make things right, they waive one bimonthly payment of $120. (I had spent nearly $10,000 with this company, and that is clearly not enough.) When I called to cancel, I wasn't surprised when no one asked why I was leaving: To Orkin/Rollins, you're just another address. Since firing Orkin, I hired a local pest control company, and upon their FIRST visit, there were two dead mice in traps that, based on their appearance, had been there for multiple months. (Wow...dead mice surely won't attract more pests!) The new company found multiple additional entry points that Orkin had missed for literal years, and they come for next-day service, unlike Orkin that sometimes had me waiting 2 weeks for a "touch-up" visit. The new company even offered to stop by to pick up a mouse that I'm confident they actually did trap inside: To compare, Orkin always left me to dispose of them myself. I will NEVER recommend this company and will wholeheartedly discourage others from using them. Just don't do it: Save yourself the energy fighting with them to just do their jobs. read more

While the staff performed a very lengthy inspection, we felt the recommendations were excessive and many unnecessary - offering to preventatively treat for things they confirmed were not an issue. We had subsequent inspections done that cast deep doubt on the "findings" of Orkin. They promised their estimate same day but it took 5 days to arrive. Very respectful of your property and your time. I would recommend them without hesitation. Their customer service is night and day compared to the other place I called. You will not get what you pay for. I was supposed to get treatment inside the house and around the exterior perimeter of the house. This was right after I closed on a house, so I wanted it done right away. The tech shows up and only does the *inside* of the home. He calmly says that he can't apply pesticides outside of the home, because the temperatures were too low, and it wouldn't be an issue for him to come back whenever the temperatures warmed up again to *finish* the job. I took him at his word, and apparently that is not a good idea. I have been trying to get Orkin to finish the job since April of this year (going on 7 months now without Orkin doing anything). I have called up Orkin plenty of times only to argue with somebody for 30-45 minutes before convincing them I was in the right, but at that point, they promise to connect with me the regional/local service manager, but then I never hear back from them. The only thing I once heard back was a residential sales inspector offered a termite treatment for a *slightly* discounted rate. When you're on hold, the message that repeats on loop is "We're not satisfied until you're happy." That is total BS. If you want any modification to their work more than 30 days past the service date, you are dead to them. The thing they kept saying back to me over and over again is that it's more than 30 days from the service date, but the tech SAID that he couldn't apply pesticides to the exterior of the property *until* it got above freezing (or a similar temperature threshold). So, if the tech was correct, I could not have gotten the rest of my service, and if the company rep is correct in saying that they have pesticides for applications in very cold environments, then the tech was lying. Either way, I keep getting passed around from person to person without any interest in finishing the work. Avoid Orkin. Go with Terminix, Advanced Pest control or Excell. Anybody but these Orkin jokers who don't care about the customer at all. read more

We have a mouse problem. We STILL have a mouse problem, after our initial $200+ first visit and $89 for each subsequent visit, which we are CONTRACTED to continue. Orkin has no motivation to truly get rid of the mice. But it gets worse than that. You can't spray for mice, so they put down sticky pads, which do not immediately kill the mice . THE HOMEOWNER IS LEFT TO GET RID OF THE STICKY PADS/MICE. Thank god for my husband, as I have been traumatized by this whole ordeal. Buy your own sticky pads and save a ton of $$. The guy who came was nice enough and SEEMED to do a thorough job, after showing up 2 hours after his scheduled time slot. read more

This company has been great and I am shocked with all these bad reviews! We have a routine service and if there are any issues that pop up they come free of charge. They are always very accommodating. They are also very timely and always come within the arrival window. I used this company years ago and had a great experience!! That is definitely NOT the case anymore!!!! The general man who came out to service our pest issue was clueless on how to handle the situation. He couldn't provide me with any information on the questions I asked. He couldn't even tell me how many traps he put out. He put sticky traps in the basement and snap traps under my sink where I go into often for my cleaning products.... How does that even make sense?? I showed him the areas in my house that were frequented by the mice and he ignored what I said and put traps in areas that were clean and never had any mice droppings!!!!! I woke up in the morning with droppings in the areas I asked to be treated and empty traps!!! I am thoroughly frustrated!!! I called several times to cancel and asked for a refund only to be told that someone will call me back!! I highly recommend you DO NOT USE this company!!! read more

How much time do you have? I'll try to sum it up as quick as I can: 1. Asked tech to spray for spiders and fleas. He was in and out in a half-hour. He didn't spray soffits or even open the crawl space hatch as I had asked. The only thing the tech managed to competently accomplish was to track dirt through my entire house. 2. Tech came on Saturday to inspect termite traps. He said he couldn't do anything because his office was closed, but would get back to me. Over two months later, nothing. 3. Rescheduled appointment from Tuesday to Saturday four days in advance. They showed up on Tuesday when I wasn't home. Called to ask why, said I wasn't scheduled for Saturday, but would be now. Received a call on Saturday after they were supposed to show up indicating that no techs were working that day. read more

I thought I had a serious wasps problem and it turned out they were just looking for a place to build their nest and he took care of the problem in a few minutes. My place got a minor case of bed bugs and Orkin was the business we decided to go with to do treatment. At first everything seemed promising. But after 4 treatments, I was still finding bed bugs. We did everything they asked off us, even got ride of the mattresses to be safe so all they had to treat was the surrounding areas. The person who calls themselves a professional was named Robert and he is the worse. He seemed like a nice guy but he treated us all 4 times and he did a terrible job. The last 2 times he came and treated my place, I found bed bugs within 12 hours of him spraying in places he claimed he had sprayed. Robert and Orkin do not get the job done. read more

Called Orkin for mice at a 2-family property that I own. They showed up late on the day of appointment in November '21. There are 4 floors including basement and attic. The "tech" was in and out in less than a half hour. He dropped a half dozen small wooden traps that I could have purchased at home depot for a couple of bucks. I was charged over $300 for this "service". I received a bill recently for a service in January that was canceled, and never performed. I've emailed and called the local office claiming Jesse Parker as manager. So far, an email and 3 phone calls have gone unanswered. I just received an appointment reminder for March 4th that I did not schedule. I am on the phone with corporate and they can't get anybody at this local branch to answer the phone either. Go with a local service if you're in CT. The local branch in this area is unprofessional, and unresponsive, in addition to billing for services they don't perform. read more

The technician did not show up. I called and I was told that I would receive a return call after the technician was contacted. I did not receive a return call. Really really horrible actually, but this company is excellent at one thing, losing new customers. We were scheduled for an appointment on Saturday with a 12:00-2:00 arrival time. I get a text message at 10:00 with a notification that they're on their way. I called and asked if I had gotten the time wrong of my appointment, as we could not do an earlier time and would have to reschedule. The guy said no, that the time was correct, but that he had some cancellations so he moved us up and would be there in less than half an hour. I said that that just wouldn't work for us, and he was trying to push it, saying that our scheduled time "no longer worked for him" and that he would have the office reschedule a time and if the new appointment didn't work for us to reach out. I just said okay. Then YESTERDAY morning I got a text saying that they were coming out today. We waited and waited and the arrival time came and went, so when we heard nothing I called. The customer service rep said that the appointment was scheduled for a different day and that the tech called me to tell me that he wasn't coming out. I never got a call, nor an automated text about any such thing. This company does not respect your time or schedule at all. People have jobs, responsibilities, and expectation. We all can't just sit at home days on end for pest control exterminators who may or may not show up. read more

This place is a joke for so many reasons. I was misled in the initial phone call about the frequency of payments. I was told it would be every other month, they have charged me monthly. Not only that, but during their initial "treatment" the guy put a bunch of useless traps around the house. He also pointed out where he thought they were entering the house from, but left and did nothing about the point of entry. His traps didn't do anything and we had to cover the point of entry ourselves, as well as place traps of our own. Ours have caught four mice, his have still done nothing. Then, to top it all off, they scheduled a follow-up appointment without contacting us and I tried to call and cancel because no one would be home as I was having major surgery done the day of their self-scheduled appointment. Of course they never answer the phone or return voicemails unless you're calling to set up a new service, so they still came out and "treated the outside" when there are ZERO traps outside. You can tell it's premeditated because they write that exact scenario into the contract to protect themselves when they do it, too. And the contract is COMPLETELY different than what is described to you during the initial phone call and they make it airtight so you can't cancel. In what world do you get locked into a full-year contract for something that is supposed to be fixed on the initial visit? It's a scam. Being as I was lied to on the phone call, never did my girlfriend or I think to look at the contract until we started realizing the scam and by then it's too late because you can only cancel within three days of the initial signature. They are dishonest and I am past disgusted with them. They never return voicemails and do lackluster "work" when they come out. As a new homeowner, this was my first lesson as to why you should buy local and not trust a national brand like this. If I could give them zero stars, I would. Absolutely terrible! Don't bother using this company. Called and had an appointment. Guy showed up on time. Worked as slow as molasses in preparing to get ready. Filled out all paperwork before he even looked. Then, told me he didn't know if he had the "right" equipment with him(no beekeeper suit or ladder tall enough). Had a look in the attic. (By the way it was abundantly clear the hornets were going into the attic. I showed him from outside). Then strolled outside to call his boss. Told me I had two choices but he only gave me ONE - Call someone else. A total waste of my time. I asked for my paperwork back so I could shred it but they still have my CC on file as he typed it into his app on the phone. I was told I wouldn't be charged as they didn't do anything.
