I tried doing it myself using a spray bottle with 1/2 water & 1/2 dish soap to be as environmentally safe as possible and then once soaked, I used a broom handle in my attempt to knock it down (I was behind the screen door). Huge mistake, didn't work and just made them rebuild it larger in 1 1/2 days! Luckily for us, this company was recommended and they did not disappoint! Dealt with Mickey who set up the appt right away after explaining the situation. Joe Jr was our hero to the rescue! He was on time, had everything he needed, suited up and got right to work! Sprayed the nest, tore the nest down & bagged it, then sprayed some more so they wouldn't come back again and it's been over a week being hornets nest free! Joe let me take a video while he was wrangling this nest down which was very cool & family members loved it. I highly recommend this company for any & all pest issues! They are definitely the best!! A technician came out for a raccoon removal inspection, quoted $850 for the full job -- then the owner conveniently decided the removal was "too unsafe" to actually perform. Suddenly the price dropped to $700 just to install a one-way door. Let that sink in: nearly the same price, a fraction of the work, and a built-in excuse to avoid doing what they were hired for. This is textbook bait-and-switch. The owner had zero intention of completing the job and used vague "safety concerns" as a shield to pocket the inspection fee while doing as little as possible. Completely shameless. The technician himself was fine -- this is entirely on the owner, who was condescending, dismissive, and utterly unbothered by ripping off a customer in broad daylight. I would not trust this company with a single dollar. Their pricing is a scam, their ethics are nonexistent, and their owner clearly views customers as targets rather than people to serve. Do yourself a favor and call literally anyone else.

Sounds like a flying squirrel likely entered my house (outside wall) through a broken vent. Both Joe G. and Zachary S. were great- friendly, yet knowledgeable, professional and happy to answer all of my questions. They set up a one-way door, so the squirrel(s) can leave, but cannot return. :) Rescue 1 is scheduled to come back in one month to remove the "door" and seal the opening in the vent. Although the job isn't finished quite yet, I've had a great experience with Rescue 1 so far. For reference, $800. included the assessment, plus two trips to the house to start and finish the job- very reasonable to me. I highly recommend Rescue 1.

He came out promptly and assessed the mouse exclusion needs for my home so quickly that I couldn't believe I hadn't figured out their entry point myself! He walked through the home, placing pet and child safe baits in strategic locations. He explained how mice move through homes and the damage they can do in clear terms. The price of the inspection and solution was very reasonable. I feel so much better knowing that we are protected for 3-5 years from this one visit! Even though he was in Hamden and I'm in Madison, I crossed my fingers he'd come this far. He did so as a favor when he was in the area. He was incredibly responsive to texts, and even called me to discuss the pictures of dead/alive ants I sent him and ask questions. When we determined that we needed to spray the perimeter (which he came back to do another time when it wasn't so damp out), he stayed in touch with me to learn about progress after the spray to make sure it was effective. He clearly loves his life's calling, and is a delight to work with. From now on, I will have him come every spring (and whenever I spot a yellow jacket's nest as well!)

Since I had the…read moreflying squirrels, Rob and Jeff have been SO HELPFUL and made everything as stress free as it could possibly be. After Jeff got rid of the flying squirrels (without killing them; he used a one-way trap and sealed the hole in my house), I thought I heard them in the house again. Turns out, I had gray squirrels instead ... Jeff came out to set a one-way trap for the gray squirrels - and while he was at it, he sprayed a yellow jacket nest that he happened to walk by. Even when I offered to pay for the trap and the yellow jacket, he didn't charge me. He said it was included in my original issue. These guys are stand-up businessmen who really know how to treat a customer. I will continue to recommend them to my friends if they have any pest problems.
