Supervisor Eugene Simien and Field Technician Oscar both lied to my face stating there is no contract and that I can cancel at anytime. Once I read the agreement I found that I could not cancel and I asked right before they began servicing the property and they finally admitted after several back and fourth questions; that I cannot in fact cancel service within the first year. They are misleading potential customers and falsifying the legally binding terms of the agreement. Also they would not allow me to decline servicing the premises without the property owner being on site. They also said they do not caulk or seal to prevent bugs even though the representative over the phone stated that they did offer and include this service and even the introductory video said they would caulk and seal where needed. Without even inspecting the property the field technician Oscar immediately said they do not do that. I feel that I was mislead by Orkin, lied to by the supervisor, and the only reason I was not stuck in this agreement is that I actually read the terms versus going off of their word. This company is extremely fraudulent and misleading and we now understand how and why your rates are so competitive, you lie to trap customers into an agreement and then do not fulfill the terms or expectations of said agreement. Update: our technician Billy is super nice, however if you're dealing with mice don't expect much from Orkin products. After getting rid of the first two mice(caught in my own personally bought TomCat traps) another one decided to move in after I brought in a box from the attic (dang it, should have learned my lesson!) Just so happened Orkin was coming by for their bi monthly visit the next day. I let Billy know I had been seeing droppings and pretty sure I saw a mouse run under the dishwasher. He gave me 2 traps. I ended up needing way more as the mouse moved in literally all my cabinets, droppings everywhere. I bought some TomCat traps at Walmart laid one in every cabinet and drawer and a few in the pantry. It took me about a month to catch him! Ugh!! Is this the only way to get rid of mice?! The bait box did nothing, whatever "pellets" Orkin put around the house didn't do anything either. Obviously they seem to be coming from the attic, as each time we saw mice in the house it was directly after something was brought down and put in the house but Orkin did not put or offer to put any traps or pellets up there. As for bugs, don't catch many in the house alive but outside still getting bit by bugs even if you're just standing on our deck for a few minutes. I understand they can't or don't spray for every bug, but it's still irritating. Original review: Let me first start off by saying, we've been through a slew of pest control companies. I don't know why we didn't just go with a company we recognized (from commercials of course, who hasn't heard of the Orkin man?!) We've never really been impressed with any of the companies..(though Aptive was quite courteous, they didn't include rodents) until I met Billy from Orkin. After living in our house for about 5 years, some mice moved in during the holiday season! We called Orkin to see if they could come take care of it and Billy showed up only a day or two before Christmas, set up a bunch of sticky traps, a bait box and put granulated all around the outside of the house that were dog and child safe (we had both) plus it was raining a bit so that was a better choice as well. He also looked in the attic and gave a lot of suggestions for if we ever fix/repair/replace stuff in the house, how we can make it pest proof. All that and he was super friendly and personable and made sure we were happy and our questions we answered. We caught one of the mice in the traps and spotted another, working on getting that little guy. Billy also came today to spray the outside of the house for pests and since his initial visit, The random few ants in the kitchen have disappeared. I like that they keep the same person who comes to your house, the lady who called to welcome us and set up appointments is also very nice and friendly. read more

Don't worry! If this company sends 3 people to your house to kill ants over your windows and they can't fix it just remember "it's" your fault. There is a giant colony of ants in the back yard of the house next door. These militant little ants are crawling from their mount straight to your house, crawling up your shrubs into your house. This all happens because your shrubs are "too close to your house". What's next? Flying ants! you need to put a dome over your house. This the kind of company that does no wrong, anything they can't fix is "your" fault. read more

I've had nothng but continually great experiences with Orkin. I hired them to come every-other-month and treat for bugs (you-name-it), and my service technician Randall is the best. He is always on time, polite, and very thorough. The great thing about Orkin too, is if you see any bugs in between visits, you just call and they send someone out to take care of it. I've been fortunate enought to have Randall (who is extremely knowledgeable) come out on seveal occasions and help out. I really could not be happier. I have no fears of any insects at all, and on the rare occasions that an ant hill or somethng pops up as the seasons change, its a simple call and Randall will eliminate it. read more

Horrible. I had fleas inside and outside of my house. They were supposed to come between 10-12 to spray. We spent the morning cleaning the house, picking everything up off the floor and made arrangements to take our dog and toddler somewhere. 1215 rolled around and they didn't show. I called Orkin and the snotty lady on the phone said they would be here between 2-4. I asked her if they would at least call me this time if they weren't going to show as it is difficult and requires many moving parts to get my dog and toddler out of the house as well as having myself or my husband waiting around for them. 4 rolls around and still no orkin and no phone call. I called them again and the lady tells me the tech had a family emergency. I asked her if he had a family emergency both times and why I didn't receive a phone call yet again. She said she would call me back to see where he was. She finally called me back and said that no one had time to come out. This was an emergency as having fleas in my home biting my toddler isn't ideal. I finally called grapevine pest control and he came out within 30 minutes and sprayed and was $100 cheaper. If I couldn't even get orkin to come out or call me I can't imagine the headache it would have been if I had actually used them. read more

Please don't waste your time with Orkin! This is the second negative review I've written for them - obviously they don't care about their rating because they haven't changed their ways! We have a critter in our attic. We can CLEARLY hear it. Yet Orkin will do NOTHING to trap it/kill it. NOTHING! They have been out here 3 times and done NOTHING! Please do not waste your time. If you need anything more serious than spraying around you yard then Orkin is NOT the company for you. read more

I called the main number Monday and Vincent was pretty rude so I said I'd think about it. I called the local number (NRH) the next day and the lady said a rep would call me to set up free consultation visit. Now it's Thursday and no call from anyone yet. I used Orkin for my termites and was going to use Orkin for the ants. I'm surprised Orkin would throw away a job since I was ready to sign paperwork. I've made other arrangements.
