Our experience with this company was terrible. They were called in by our home warranty company because our outer oven door was shattered completely. Their repair guy said the problem was 'cosmetic' so the warranty company denied the claim & we are out an extra $100 for his 'service call'. And then he wanted $190 to come in and replace the glass that we have had to obtain on our own! He would not return my calls to even discuss the fact that this is a safety issue, not a cosmetic one! read more

Electric oven not working. As it wasn't critical (we have microwave, stove top, etc, and all adults in the house) I told them we could wait for repair in case more urgent jobs showed up. They got to us in six days. Estimated arrival was 0800-1200, got here at 0900. Though repairman was not familiar with our specific model, repair was done in less than an hour and a half as he even had the proper part on his truck. Price seemed reasonable. Had to leave a voicemail on my initial call, but was called back promptly with a pleasant conversation. It has been a few years since I needed their service and am pleased they are still competent. read more

It was difficult to get an appointment, but after multiple calls I made it to the schedule for the following week. The techs were late and did not communicate their estimated arrival time, only a 4 hour window was provided. I followed up with the office multiple times on the day of the appointment when the last hour blocked had approached and was again told they would give me a call when heading over, that did not occur. Finally, the issue with my appliance turned out to be that it wasn't fully plugged into the outlet. The tech immediately identified this and plugged it in and moved on to the next job within spending one minute with me. I was asked to still pay $99 despite the fact that there were no repairs needed. I contracted the owner to request that they adjust the fee to cover their travel time/expenses bc the time spent was minimal and the guys indicated that they had plenty of other jobs they were immediately moving on to. I know they did not miss out on time worked other than the local travel from one residence to the next. The owner indicated that he would not budge and I still owed $99 for the one minute visit. This feels like a bad business practice since they are charging much more than what is needed to mitigate their costs. I would have been inclined to use them in the future but I do feel that given the circumstances, this is exorbiant. I will not be recommending this business to any of my local HOA members and will share this experience with my referring neighbors. read more

$89 to go to your house, $50 an hour for labor, + parts. My gas dryer was not heating so I called. Mid December, I called on a Monday. No answer several times (they are on lunch break from 12 to 1pm. Finally, a nice lady answered. But veeeeeery long awkward pauses during the call while she inputed info. Technician not available until Wednesday, 10am to 2 pm window. Technician arrived at 11amish on Wednesday. Technician wore covid mask. Immediately began work on dryer. Pulled dryer away from wall, removed several screws from back panel, removed panel, checked the thermal fuse with a volt/ohm meter. Bad fuse. He went to his truck, got a new one, replaced it, re-installed back panel and screws, and pushed dryer back. Tested it and it worked! 10 minute job. $160 dollars. I just had lower back surgery and can't really move or do much so had to call for service. Expensive but I had to. Oh well, I can dry clothes now. read more

After a long week and a half of laundromat-hopping (manufacturer delay, not Rick's!), they were able to get our washer up and running for a reasonable cost. Despite the best efforts of their technician; the washing machine was not reparable. They followed up quickly with AHS and within a timely fashion, and AHS within hours sent the replacement paperwork. Let me give them a high five for their follow up. read more

My Kenmore front load washing machine spin cycle stopped working. Rick was timely and able to repair the washer in about thirty minutes. Lucky for me he had the required part on his truck. Rick and his staff were very responsive and helpful. Our dryer broke and Electrolux listed Rick's as a repair service. I called and left a VM, which is common now post-COVID. They called back a couple of hours later and made an appointment for a few days later. Staff was friendly and courteous. Rick was communicative and prompt on the day of the appointment. Great service! I've gone months without an oven as another (let's just say less than completely honest) repair service company said I needed a brand new oven. Not having a spare $1500 bucks for an in-wall oven, I managed to get by. But with Thanksgiving around the corner I decided to try Rick's Appliance Service. I'm so glad I did! All I needed was new heating elements. Rick's didn't have them on hand and had to order them. Of course I figured that would take a good month. Nope! 3 days later the parts were here and ready to be installed. Pretty impressive, except... someone forgot to load them on the truck. So now I'm guessing Rick's will reschedule and it will be at least another week. Wrong again. They had someone deliver the parts so they could be installed on the day they said they'd be installed. Very impressive! Less than 25 minutes later I had a working oven. Less than $200. Works great. No mess, no fuss. A company that was honest about what I needed and stuck to their installation date even though it meant an added expense on their end. Thank you Rick's Appliance Services! I don't recommend Rick's appliance service at all, The guy came in just turn the knob on the washer and told me that he wasn't sure that it could be fix. I received a bill for $89 just for 2 minute diagnose I called two other companies and they were very honest they told me that it was better for me to buy a new washer because they were not sure that it would last even if it was fix, One guy even pull it apart and I did not receive any bills from other companies but I did from Rick's company. read more

I called Rick's when our 6 year old built in oven didn't turn on after a power outage. Their quoted price for a service call was literally half of what some of their competitors charge, and they didn't tell me "Oh your control panel is probably blown" before they even looked at it. Their tech Bernie showed up within the time window, tested the fuses in the back of the oven, figured out one of them was blown, swapped it for a new one and the oven works great now. Total bill was very reasonable. Bernie gave me some tips on how to get reimbursed as well, which was unexpected and very appreciated. He ran my credit card and emailed me a receipt, and was on his way. All told the call took him 20 minutes tops to get everything fixed. I will have them out again for just regular maintenance for my other appliances. Give them a call if you need appliance repairs. read more

Rick's was a genuine surprise, pleasant, that is. We had just relocated to this area and we had brought a washer/dryer set with us, but we had never used this set, as it actually belonged to my stepson and his wife. In any case, Rick himself, and a helper, arrived exactly on the promised time and set right to work setting the washer and dry up. They were quick and efficient, and despite a minor glitch, that being the fact that the electric dryer plug was not compatible to the outlet. We were going to have to wait about 2 days. We did not pay them that day, as they would be back soon after. Got a call from one of the 2 Rick's, and they said that the plug had arrived and they could install it that day. They arrived exactly as promised, istalled it, got everything working, then...charged me a lot less than the original quote!! Amazing!! Not only that but I had a bad experience with another appliance service. Well that all went away when I priced a New refrigerator. I got this LG in 2011 and I loved the huge size. Excellent service! Dishwasher wouldn't drain. Rick came out quickly and found the problem right away. A piece of glass was in the pump and prevented it from working. Can't say enough good things about Rick. My freezer compartment of fridge wouldn't freeze. He showed up on time and found the problem quickly & fixed it. He was reasonably priced and even recommended a great exterminator to help with a mouse problem I had. I now have frozen ice cream. Mouse is still in residence but Izzy is working on it! Did have a little snag at first with waiting for a call back for an appointment. I had to make the call back to the appointment person. Since the problem with my fridge was not critical, it was easy to set a time to my schedule. They called to let me know that the techs were on their way. Even when the problem was not happening (go figure), the tech did find something that would cause the fault. He fixed it and explained why it was intermittent, the charge was the quote of the service call, which was very reasonable to me.
