I will preface this by saying that this review would have gotten only 1 star if the food wasn't so delicious. I gave it 2 only because of the kitchen staff for making things so tasty. I actually enjoyed my food (when I got it) --- but then comes the reason why I only gave it 2 stars.
The service was abysmal. I go to a lot of restaurants, and this was among the worst service I've ever had, if not the worst. We had a party of 8, which is large, but not small either. I usually give wait staff a pass if something minor happens with a large-ish party (which 8 isn't that large). I'll list out everything that happened when we went there for lunch yesterday:
--Waitress took an extraordinarily long time to get over to us
--We all order our food -- and 2 people in our party wanted appetizers as their entrees. This is not an unusual request. They clearly stated that they wanted their appetizers to come out with the rest of the food. Nobody else ordered a special request.
--We wait. And wait. And wait. Waitress explains that the kitchen is backed up, which doesn't seem to be true because we were sat next to the kitchen, and at least 15 tables worth of food came out.
--The two people who ordered appetizers as their entrees get their food. Ok, cool, maybe theirs came out first.....
--10 minutes go by, and we ask whether the rest of the food is coming out for the rest of the table, since the apps were supposed to be entrees. Waitress assures us that the rest of the food is coming out.
--Another 15-20 minutes goes by before any of the other food comes out. All the orders are correct, except they decided not to give a bun to someone who ordered a burger. No, it wasn't a request for a lettuce wrap. They just didn't give her a bun.
--We eat our food, and everything is tasty. We didn't have a single complaint about the food aside from it being served late/wrong. Everything was tasty. Again, that's the ONLY reason this restaurant is getting a 2 star review instead of 1 star.
--Time comes to pay, and this is the biggest issue of all. They told us they couldn't split the check, and we would have to split it ourselves. Which, ok, I've done this before at certain places. Our friend spends a few minutes indicating specifically what food goes with which credit card. I.E. Chicken Sandwich and Breakfast Pizza go on John Smith's card
-- We wait. At least 20 minutes for them to process the credit cards. It should take no more than 5 minutes to do something like this. We waited for nearly 20 minutes for the credit cards to be processed.
-- We get the checks back. First of all, we were given a credit card that didn't belong to us. Some other guy in the restaurant was missing his credit card before we told the waitress none of us there had that card.
-- 2 different people (myself included) get the bill, and their cards were charged the wrong amount. Even though we had clearly indicated, in writing, who had which food. Personally, our total came (just 2 of us) to around 27 dollars, and we were charged 45.
--We indicate the issue, and she comes back 5 minutes later, scratches out the amount with a pen, and saying that I will only be charged the original amount. Very sketchy, she didn't print out a new check, and said the printer wasn't working.
--I check my credit card today, and I'm still being charged the original amount (that was almost 20 dollars incorrect). It's still being listed as the original amount for 45ish dollars.
If this isn't corrected within the next day or so, I will be going down there and speaking to the manager. I've had bad service before, but I've never had so many different things go wrong by wait staff in my entire life. It really is unacceptable.
TLDR: The food was tasty, but the service was easily the worst I've ever had, for several reasons mentioned above. read more
