I wanted to find a sports bar that I could watch the Pacers game AND have above average bar food. Parlor Sports hits it out of the park ! It's unpretentious and welcomes all. It is ok the smaller side, so I would arrive slightly early if you would like good viewing of a specific game; however, there is TVs throughout the small-ish space. I ordered the cheese curds to munch on, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that they were some of the best cheese curds I've had. The breading wasn't thick like most, just an ultra thin layer. Added fresh jalapeños. And for dipping it was a ranch-styled sauce. So SO good ! I had a local, canned beer to drink. Service was good and it gave off a local/community vibe since the bartenders seemed to know who the regulars are. I will definitely be back! I typically don't drink cocktails at this sort of establishment, but the White Russian 2.0 has perked my interest. If the food is that great and it's only $13 for a cocktail... I wish there were a dozen Parlor Sports in Cambridge, this place is fantastic. It's a cozy sports bar, so get there early to guarantee a seat before games! The drink selection is great, with lots of craft beers and cocktails. And the food is fantastic -- not just for a sports bar, but in general. I was really happy with the hot dog, and my friend's steak and cheese was lights out. I'm definitely going to try the nachos next time, they caught my eye every time they came out of the kitchen. But if you're lucky enough to have someone take your there (as I was) or you decide roll the dice and head in on your own, you'll find one of Somerville's best sports bar. Parlor has all you need in a good sports bar along with a refined, tight knit, friendly atmosphere that is perfect for watching whatever game it is you're looking for. When it comes to staples of a good sports bar (TVs, beer, food) Parlor excels. There are plenty of TVs located around the bar and nary a bad seat in the house. A huge plus is that the bartenders actually appear to be sports fans and are incredibly responsive to requests for specific games. The menu is typical bar food during the week with a brunch menu on Sunday. I went with a burger when I decided to dine there and was not disappointed. When it comes to the beer selection, they have everything from the latest craft beer to High Life. Parlor is a great option for watching any sort of sporting event or if you just want a beer and a bite to eat. I've enjoyed my time there and plan on continuing to visit. A great place to watch soccer! I came here to watch the United States play France in the quarterfinals of the World Cup. The atmosphere was amazing for a mid-afternoon game. People were entirely into it, they had a lot of fun, the place went crazy each time Rapinoe scored, and the crowd chanted "PAY THEM MORE" after Rapinoe's 2nd goal. Also the service was really good, the food looks good, and in general this seems like an awesome place. Go here and give them money. read more

Man, this place is a blast! It's a little on the smaller side, so it helps to get there early for special events. I met up with some friends there to watch The Bachelorette -- which they play over the bar speakers! They also turned on the sound system for Jeopardy! and it was fun to yell out the answers with everybody. My friend had the Mexican Pretzel -- just a soft pretzel with some yummy queso to dip it in -- which I enjoyed. I also got the Sloppy Nachjoes for us to share, which were amaaaazing. I've been thinking about them all week. They have a lot of fun cocktails but I stuck to the house margarita, which was very good. The staff were all super friendly and made sure to take an extra minute to acknowledge any regulars they saw, which I love to see. Another nice touch were the pride flags hanging outside as well as the "you are safe here" rainbow stickers in the (gender neutral!) bathrooms, which made me feel extremely welcome as a queer person. Bachelor nation, this is the spot for you! Each Monday night during the Bachelor and Bachelorette, this tiny bar is filled with avid fans cheering on their favorite contestants. The bartender is great, ringing a bell when contestants kiss or have a special moment. They also provide bingo cards filled with common sayings to make the viewing experience even more enjoyable. The food is high quality bar food. The nachos are gigantic! I would recommend the half portion; it's a normal large nacho size. The fried pickles are crisp and tasty. read more

Hmm. Trina's little brother (redneck cousin?) ain't half bad. Parlor Sports offers Sunday brunch, which is nice since Trina's offers the mid-day feast on Mondays for industry folk. The menu is minimalist, but you'll get the standard eggs with home fries, toast, and choice of bacon or sausage, or pancakes, or a tofu and veggie scramble, and coffee. Yummy coffee, served in mismatched mugs with unlimited refills. 8 TVs showing sporting events (helllooo, spring training, can't wait!), low tables, high-tops, bar seating, and an impressive beer list for a joint that's likely 400 square feet. A Rogue on tap that'd I'd never even heard of earned tons of points for me. Nothing too special here, but I'll definitely be back for beers, pepperoni rolls, and baseball, hopefully with a super hot dude, soon. read more

I'm not one to give 5 Stars to just any establishment, but I will tell you this... Parlor Sports is more deserving of 5 Stars than any other burger n fries establishment in this town. If you don't want to read this review, just know that you MUST order the fried pickles! They're not spears, they're chip shaped and... heavenly. Okay, now for the long review: There are plenty of burger n fries establishments around here, usually with a family name or gentleman's name in the title - mediocre vibes and mediocre meals. Once in a blue moon, you'll go to one of these burger n fries establishments and get an out of the park meal and out of the park service. With Parlor Sports, it's out of the park every time. Whether it's loud n crowded or mellow and mild, you're bound to have a good time. The staff is attentive, fun, and easy going. They have thoughtful touches with everything they do. For example, when I go there with my boo we like to split a beer (ballin' on a budget feel me?) and they always split it for us at the bar, with these perfect lil' glasses that just make me smile. I know I know, it's just splitting a beer, but it makes me feel cared for! The staff are always talking to regulars and friends of regulars, establishing connections that make you feel like you're a local in a world where you often feel lost. Even when I'm not participating in conversations with staff, I see the joy and fun that they bring to their service and it is infectious. Okay okay let's get to the grub. The menu is simple, but expansive. They make a mean hot dog and I'm telling you to go all out with the toppings. The buffalo wings are my favorite in the city and that's saying something! The perfect combo of crispy and juicy. Now let's get to the burger n fries. They have the Parlor Burger which my boo always gets, but my favorite is just the regular shmegular burger, add some jalapenos and some buff sauce on the side, and it's perfection. Normally I'm not a thick cut fry kind of gal, but they are some of the best thick cut fries. On top of that, the food comes out PIPING hot! So fresh n so good! The redesign of the Parlor Bar at Trina's Starlite Lounge is finally done. The improvements: More beer options, more snack options, a better place to watch sports (obviously), open more, more of a contrast to the front bar at Starlite. And it is pretty classy for a sports bar. I don't like the character nearly as much as the original Parlor Bar, though. When I came in on a weekday evening, it was practically empty and seemed a shadow of its former self. Made me a little sad, even though I still liked the place quite a bit. read more

I came here a couple weeks ago to watch the Celtics play the Thunder (Came away happy with Morris's game winning shot). I will definitely be coming back. Food: I had the nachos here and wow they're huge and filling and amazing. I could not finish them haha. I want to try more things on their menu. Drinks: They have a great beer menu. They have pretty interesting cocktails as well. I need to come not on a weeknight so that I can enjoy it more. A great place to watch a soccer match. There are not many other places you can this about. I just got home from watching the Revs here and it was a really great night. The management could not have treated our group better. As soccer fans it can be tough to find places willing to show a match with sound but they were completely helpful from the moment we approached them. I stuck around to watch the Celtics as well and the atmosphere was great for that too. The beer selection and cocktails are what you would expect from the same owners as Trina's. This is a super biased review from a regular who has now spent significant portions of his life and income at Parlor Sports, but what the heck. PEOPLE: Parlor is always full of regulars, but unlike some places where this might make you feel unwelcome, here you'll become one of them in no time. All the bartenders are great people who make an incredible effort to remember names, faces, and favorite teams of everyone who comes in, not just the regulars. (You may find them more business-like when it's crowded, though.) FOOD: good to excellent, coming from the same kitchen as Trina's next door. Some menu items change every few months, and if you're lucky you might get one named after you. And no, you can't get food from the Trina's menu for whatever reason, so you'll have to go next door if you want pie. DRINKS: they really only keep one bottle of each type of liquor, so it's not much of a cocktail bar, but they do have you covered if liquor is your thing. Beers are good with many local selections, and taps change fairly often. A bit pricier than I'd like, but so is everywhere else. (Protip: if you have low standards, Narragansett gets you the most bang for your buck here. RIP Lionshead.) SPORTS: it's getting to the point where I don't like coming here for a Big Game (it's small and very crowded), but under normal circumstances it's good for viewing whatever. They can usually fulfill any request on at least one of the TVs, and they'll turn on the sound if it's something interesting. Football always draws crowds, and there's an especially strong soccer crew here, as well as a devoted NBA group. Hockey and baseball fans are less organized, but they're around, and James the bartender would love to talk baseball with you. NON-SPORTS: Breaking Bad, 24, The Bachelor. These are but a few of the television shows that have made their way onto Parlor's screens. Or you can ignore the TVs and just enjoy a beer and pretzel. 1. This is not a "sports bar", unless that means they have TV that can display sports programming. Nothing about the bar said "sports" to me except for the name of the bar. We came here to watch a Rangers/Lightning NHL playoffs game and it just wasn't what we were hoping/expecting at all. It felt more like a wine/bistro atmosphere and the decor fit that as well. Pretty small spot. 2. Watch out for Bachelorette Night. Yes, the reality TV show. Not only do they show it, but they have it on audio...and it will take precedence over the sports programming on the TV. 3. The bartender was a good guy and served us quickly. We just didn't stay long because of the atmosphere. Beer selection was really good, too...we were sad it didn't work out. read more

Be warned that if there is a big American football game and soccer on at the same time, you'll be resigned to watching the American football in the corner without audio while soccer gets the main billing. This place is amazing. I first became aware of it when Chris Camille, he of Midnight Riders and BSSL Presidential fame, started tweeting out that informal Revs away game viewings were going on at a bar in Somerville. In general, I haven't taken part in many Revs away game viewing parties. All the locations are too far from my Central Mass base. It takes me an hour and 20 minutes to get from my house to The Banshee, so thats pretty much reserved for "Must See / Cant See" matches like USMNT away CONCACAF Qualifiers in HD in English on BeIn Sport. Somerville is a lot easier, especially from where I live right near Route 2, its pretty much a straight shot in under 40 minutes to the elbow at 16/Alewife. Its just another 10 minutes from there down Mass Ave. to Inman Square and this awesome little bar. I went after a BSSL game last weekend, and there was a huge crowd of Revs fans there, probably close to 20, and although its not officially a "Soccer Bar" its certainly headed in that direction and a soccer friendly establishment. There is a limited selection of beers on tap, but there was one that some kind of lightly hoppy honey beer that was awesome. The food is stylistically the bar food staples, waings, sandwiches, etc. but it's a cut above the typical standard for freshness and quality. I was impressed. The bar staff is real friendly, and at halftime of the game, everyone goes outside and plays a pickup soccer game in the parking lot. I really want to go in there one day and post up for a whole afternoon. This is a much needed addition to the Boston soccer scene, and a place I will be returning to in the near future. read more

I've been a pretty regular customer at Trina's since it opened. I love everything about the bar. The vibe. The drinks. The food. It's solid and unpretentious. Plus, I can get a sloppy joe or a hot dog at a restaurant! I used to especially love the "back room" of Trina's, which is now Parlor Sports. So, naturally, I hated Parlor the first time I went. I was still missing the old space, plus the lights were too bright and they weren't playing any music (even though it was Saturday night and no games were on). But I gave it another chance and now I'm a fan. Parlor has a ton of TVs (even one over the toilet!), a pretty good menu, and lots of great beer (on tap and in bottles). And once the games end, they are now dimming the lights and playing some tunes. And I have to note that the people who run this place are, as always, fantastic. read more

I like smaller crowds, good beer, sports, and engaging bartenders, which means I love, love, love Parlor Sports. I can go into this place, know no one, and in minutes start chatting it up with the people around me. Garvey, J, James, and Jon are the bestest. They always greet me with a handshake or a hug. It's like going over a friends house. Even if you're not a regular, you will be soon. They also do cool events like hold a Kentucky Derby Party with bad hats! And after the Boston Marathon Bombing, they had an all-profits night go to the victims. For food, I recommend the steak and cheese and grilled cheese (add bacon and jalapeno) with tomato soup. Things that are amazing about my favorite bar ever, in no particular order: 1. "Where everybody knows your name". Parlor is loyal to locals and regulars. This is the best place to watch New England Revolution/MLS and US Soccer matches. They even throw occasional "Soccer Nerd Brunch" - opening early on weekends to show EPL matches. 3. On our last night in Boston, my fiancee and I were looking for a low-key sports bar to watch our Seattle Seahawks play the Lions on Monday Night Football. We started out at Lord Hobo, but after getting a beer there we realized we needed a place that was a bit more sports-oriented if we were going to camp out for a whole game. We decided about 20 minutes before kickoff to walk over to Parlor Sports and it was the best decision we made that day! We walked in just before kickoff and the bartender (I didn't catch his name, unfortunately) was awesome. Super attentive and accommodating of a couple Seattleites hanging out in the corner of his bar. There were even a few other Seahawks fans in the building that we met. Overall, this was one of my favorite bars we visited in Massachusetts. Great draft beer list, awesome service, and the music selection was so fun and eclectic that we weren't even that bummed they didn't have the MNF audio on. Then in the 4th quarter they turned the game audio on in the bar without us even asking. It was like they were reading our minds. Oh, we also ordered food and that was great too. The pepperoni hot pocket type thing and the sweet and spicy wings were both awesome. This is the kind of bar that would be one of my regular go-to spots if I lived in the area. read more

I have to give this place 5 stars because the amazing staff really just make you feel like it's your bar when you are there. I once tried to hand James my card to start my tab, and he was like, "seriously?!? I know who you are." My boyfriend started going here right after they opened and has got me going there all the time. Things I love about this place: 1. The staff. It's so awesome when the bar tenders give you hugs as you come and go. 2. The pretzels. I would die if these were ever taken off the menu. 3. The veggie burger. Tip: don't put it down. 4. Endless water. This may seem dumb but when you are like my boyfriend and spend endless hours drinking High Life at Parlor, rehydration is very important.
