1. I had the therapist Marie the first time. The second time, Leslie started and did not introduce…read moreherself as a physical therapist. The first one seemed unprepared. I never did an evaluation. I briefly explained what happened. Recently, a head physical therapist at a larger chain spent almost an hour listening and giving good information.
Leslie told me to look at online reviews. I saw one besides this one. I said i ma busy with international business. She said she is a dual citizen. I could have said I am as well, and about my travels, but my physical therapy is the priority.
2. They have an uneducated front desk person who also worked at a gym I had attended. She does not represent physical health or taking care of yourself. She talked back to me and tried to give me unsolicited advice.
3. This was after she read my emails that were supposed to go to therapists. Therapists never returned any emails from the beginning.
The Therapy:
4. I told A PT repeatedly that I cannot do relevé. The doctors instructed no toe raises for now.She told me several times to do these, including the last thing at the last session, when she said to do it on one leg. I am doing exercises I am not supposed to do as per doctors, but know myself through decades of exercise that I should not do this now.
5. She said to do it to strengthen calf muscles. I'd like to see her do the exercises I do for calves or anything. On top of it, I have been a licensed fitness trainer for decades and have worked in several top clubs. My calves are obviously strong. I need to stretch more, as per doctor notes and my knowledge after years of training. I used to take time to stretch more in general years ago.
6. The aforementioned lady is not giving me a release for another place for PT.
7. I knew by June 2 when I notified doctors for another authorization I should not go to this place. PT Leslie kept touching skin under a foot that had a condition when I said to stop.
8. She insinuated I have diabetes or bad circulation, which I do not. Perhaps she or family or friends have. That is beyond her scope. The thing to say, as I would as a trainer is, "Would you want to check out if you have these conditions? I am not a specialist in this, and your feet are not balloons as are often those of people with these problems, but perhaps check, or have you?" A dermatology nurse just said this week they are alarmed when they see diabetic feet.
I do not look like I have them. Not that I needed to, but it was verified again by a physician this week.
9. My MRI reports were not read thoroughly from Day One. She would know there are many reasons for some edema, and there is some fat on one ankle. As one physician said, everyone has different ankles. A current one said they are beautiful. After a break as a teenager and sprains, I am sure my body put some fat there for protection. Thank goodness I don't have ugly, bony feet like many have. I have some edema in some places. She insinuated my foot is fat, which is not true. After I said there is some fat on the ankle, she yelled loudly when others were there that it is fine if I am okay with fat on my foot or something, and she and PT Marie laughed in the back. I am almost sure they laughed about his. She denied it. Should I list things I can laugh about in their looks or fitness for their work? The diabetes comment was also said loudly. Meanwhile, the head physical therapist I saw elsewhere, someone with higher IQ and who is not prejudiced against confident, smart, beautiful white women, said your body naturally puts cushionig in damaged areas, and that it has absolutely nothing to do with diabetes.
10. Although I went a few minutes after my appointment twice, and I told them I would as I had some things to do, the session is 50 minutes, so they would have been out on time. I was rushed, especially the last time. She counted five seconds quickly, not "One Mississippi or in a similar fashion, for the movement to be held for a true five seconds."
11. I was told not to go on Saturday, which fits my schedule, for no good reason.
12. I will ask the new place therapists and observe if they put paper towels over foot machines before people use them! I was told to wear socks before using them, and yet they used paper towels even when I wore socks.
Often doctors, dentists, therapists disagree, even when looking at the same material or hearing the same things. You hear different views and rely on your intuition and knowledge of herself as to what to do and with whom to work. In this case, things were often not thorough or professional. I bought myself some of the machines to have from Amazon and look forward to another provider.
I talked to Victoria about some insurance stuff, and she kept talking over me. I should have stuck with Marie, who at least was not rude, and gotten a Saturday to finish my first five sessions. People should hire higher-caliber people. One reason 911 happened is that they did nto do this at airports.
