My family didn't place dad there blindly, it was by choice, after weighing all the options. We have a family member who is a long term resident there currently as well as a long time family friend who is there too. They love the care they receive and the staffers they receive it from. Their recommendations were well received. From the moment I entered the front door and was greeted by the front desk attendant Lana, I knew dad was in a great, loving, caring and Holy place. I went up to dad's floor, was greeted by every staff member I passed. Not just on my first visit, but every visit. No matter how busy they were, every single person said hello. As time went on, those greetings were by name. It truly felt like dad was being cared for by loving family. My visits only lasted a week or so as I live about 700 miles away, but my experience and my opinions of my dad's treatment are fact based. He could not have received better care anywhere else. The facility was spotless, well maintained and the staff all love why they do. It takes a special kind of person to do this work. Ozanam is blessed with the best. Ozanam is even updating the rooms one floor at a time. It's nice to see the investment back into the facilities. The office staff was extremely helpful, kind and very communicative. They assisted in every way possible, making the daunting logistics of dealing with the insurance companies a less daunting part of the experience. I could not ask for better! I'd like to name everyone I met there who cared for me dad and assisted my family throughout, but I would have to name every person in the public eye as well as everyone behind the scenes there. By God's plan, my dad, Donald B. declined due to advancing medical conditions. He received great personal care and was treated with dignity up to and beyond when he took his final breath. He passed on Sept 22, peacefully in his sleep. The staffers who knew him were as sad as we are. Thank you to everyone at Ozanam Hall of Queens for all you do for every person in your care every day. If you ask for help they walk away or say I am on a break. They leave rooms dirty and if you go to supervision they just cover it up. They do not isolate people during flu season so everyone gets sick. The aides do less than the minimum attempting to feed patients with dementia. This place is hell on earth for the vulnerable elderly.

I really could not walk but following intensive twice a day physical therapy i am now at the point I can walk with a walker and am abe to go up and down steps with no pain. While they assist you in stretching and therapeutic massage, they also give you the exercise tools and tips you need in order to maintain a pain-free life everyday at home and in the workplace. The therapists and assistants are really dedicated to each of their patients as I can see while I'm there being treated. Everyone is so friendly and outgoing, they all make you feel right at home and relaxed. I highly recommend coming here to be treated, you will find yourself in a great deal of relief mentally and physically.

The nurses are nice too but too busy to tend to the patients except for giving meds. I would rate this place about 2.4/5.

The hot water was non existent after a few minutes in the shower. The food was disgusting. I told them I was a diabetic but that did not prevent them from giving dried pasta twice a day. I spoke with the kitchen more than once but the diet remained unchanged. One evening when dinner was served, pasta again, there was no fork on my tray and when I asked for a fork I was told n o one had a fork. They then distributed plastic forks to everyone. My bed was never changed but instead was straightened up each day. One evening I asked an attendant for water, she said she would be right back. Right back was two days later and when I mentioned I was still waiting for water she just laughed in my face. I expressed my feelings to those in charge and they said they would compensate me. I advised them if I was not properly compensated I would put a review on their web page.

Anytime a request was made to the CNA staff they responded promptly and with a positive disposition. The PT staff, Judith, and OT, Rosie supported my mom's recovery. The speech therapists were also great. My mother gained 3 pounds and particularly enjoyed the soup and small portions of ice cream. Thank you Parker Jewish. I definitely recommend. On a separate occasion, she was dragged out of bed and thrown into her wheelchair by staff, leaving her in pain and with bruising. This is not the first time we have experienced neglect and rough handling from staff. No resident should ever be treated this way -- it is degrading and a basic failure of care. I have filed formal complaints with the NYS Department of Health and the Long-Term Care Ombudsman. I strongly caution other families to think carefully before placing a loved one here. They also don't call you back, almost all calls go to voicemail. Still waiting for Director of Nursing to call me back.
