I have used several counter top fabricators in the past and by far Ricardo at Ornelas Granite was the best. We contacted him to quote us on using granite called Cosmos. This type of granite crumbles easy and is difficult to fabricate. We had Ricardo come measure after cabinet was in and level for our bar countertop. He came on time, measured quickly, and said to let us know and when we were ready and he could get material from Rio Stone (stone slab vendor, also recommend them). We got the quote from him, which was fair and what we expected going into this process. We called him back, he came to the house and picked up half payment for material. He went and got the material and cut and polished in about 2 weeks. He came back on time for the install, got the counter installed in a little over an hour or so. He is very professional and the job they did with the counter in our bar was fabulous. It is beautiful and we love it. I usually wait to give review for a little while just to make sure everything is still working well and looks good. The counter he put in our bar looks so great, we could not be happier. Ricardo was recommended to me and I couldn't be happier. I have a built-in BBQ from a previous homeowner that was tiled but from the years the tile and grout were showing wear. I removed the tile and wanted to have a granite countertop installed. After contacting Ricardo and a few texts back and forth and then selecting the stone again via text and pictures, he came by and installed the stone. It wound up being quartzite and I was happy with it as having selected it via text I wasn't sure exactly how it was going to look. The overall stone was cut and the overhang pre-fabricated and when they arrived the final cuts were made and the installation completed. Everything went well, the only issue you could have is the main method of communication seems to be texting but I'm sure other ways are acceptable, but this could be a concern for you, it wasn't for me. Ok, granite is granite, quartz is quartz. We've used several stone fabricator/installers with success. Ricardo Ornelas is different than any we have experienced. When we contacted him, one of many referrals from Rio Stone, his response was not only prompt but courteous and friendly. He came out and reviewed the work- countertops for a kitchen with many angles, island and a curved bar top. His price was competitive and worked with us to stay within our budget while not compromising the scope of the work. There was a delay waiting for the material from Rio Stone but he kept us informed. Once received he let us know he had it in his shop, was ready to measure and fabricate. He said it would take 9 days to fabricate. Something happened to delay it one day- he let us know ahead of time. The install was tough ( getting the joints tight at some wierd angles). The finished job is almost as perfect as it could be. I requested the the counter especially at the cooktop be level. It is. Ricardo did exactly what he promised, when he promised and kept us informed along the way (you know how anxious we get to want the job done!!). If you have done any serious project to your home I bet you have experienced a contractor who promises quality, low price and quick service - and been disappointed by no- show workers, material delays, so-so workmanship.
