We were staying at the Mining Exchange Hotel, and this restaurant is attached to it, so we went there for our first night. FOOD: Large portions, rich and tasty eats. My wife had the buffalo carpaccio, which she enjoyed, along with a yummy bolognese pasta. I had the caesar salad (which was oddly sweet but good) and the lamb ragu pasta. We also ordered a focaccia starter, which was enough for four people (but useful for sopping up the sauce from the pasta bowls). Absolutely stuffed, with no room for dessert. The cocktail menu looked decent, but we had already had more interesting drinks from the Golden Hour next door. The wine list is largely Italian and both extensive and expensive. The by-the-glass wines are reasonably priced either as glass or bottle. SERVICE: It was a Tuesday night, so not terribly busy. Our waiter, Spencer, was attentive and helpful. His suggestion for wines were expensive, but when we ordered a less pricey one he suggested an alternate of that varietal which was a bit less (and was quite good). Food was delivered promptly. All was as ordered except that the Caesar was missing the promised croutons (which, to be fair, I didn't notice until I was half finished). AMBIANCE: Quiet, upscale and simple. It certainly didn't distract from the food. VALUE: The prices are high, objectively, but the quality and quantity make up a lot for that. NET-NET: Definitely worth visiting for a special occasion or a serious date -- and =either when staying at the MX, or as a destination itself. We will likely be back, if we're ever hungry again.

Food: excellent pasta - our favorite was the lamb ragu - handmade and flavorful. The 20 oz steak is fantastic-- melts in your mouth. Service: attentive and friendly servers with an effortless look. Ambiance: beautiful chandeliers (like if Chihuly loved mushrooms and metal as much as glass); decadent booths and a spacious bar with great lighting

Food: 3.5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Anniversary dinner in Colorado Springs! This restaurant is attached to the mining exchange hotel. We were the first one to come in for 5 pm reservation and were welcomed by very hospitable staffs. Calm ambiance throughout the dinner and each meal was served in a very pretty plates. We ordered scallop crostini, frutti di mare, braised lamb shank, and spicy broccolini. Servers were excellent in recommendations and met the expectation. We even received 1 complimentary dessert for our anniversary. Spicy broccolini was great. We will come for drinks next time. Bar set up looks very classy

A great add to Colorado Springs. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every dish we tried was tasty. But the focaccia with butter was standout for us. Simple and delicious. The staff is welcoming, and attentive. The atmosphere is modern, comfortable, and inviting. You can tell this place is run with pride and attention to detail. We loved the modern touches and style of the place. It's a great date night spot! We would like to go back and try more dishes. Also, while we enjoyed a nice dinner, this spot doesn't break the bank and prices are reasonable for the experience!

Love this tucked away place in historic downtown buildings! The color of the cozy chairs and the lamps give off an elegance and cozy vibe at the same time. The service was excellent with recommendations for flavor and dietary preferences. We were treated to five star service. The drinks were also creative and balanced well with the excellent flavors of the dishes! I will be back next time I am in the area.

Have been twice now since open -- first time was seated in the middle behind a big table and could not hear the people I was with. Second time I was at a booth in the back and did not have this problem! Servers were very informative, kind and paced food well.

It was date night and I've been hearing so many good things of this place, so I took my chance and chose this place. Made a reservation thought their Instagram page and they have many different available times. As we arrived, we were greeted by the hostess. She had us sit in their little waiting area (since we arrived a bit early) and meanwhile we admired the place. The place is nicely decorated in a minimal, yet elegant way ( with lots of gold accents, hence the name). They have a gorgeous bar inside, and it looked like and adjacent bar outside. The time came to sit on our table and we got greeted by our very profesional, and attentive server (if only I could remember her name, maybe Rachel). She gave excellent service. Onto the yummy part: To start we got the burrata with green Pueblo Chile and some focaccia. The bread was tasty the burrata was good but nothing out of this world. As a main dish I got the risotto and that was sooo sooo good. My partner got the Branzino (whole fish from head to tail, but they remove the spine) he said it was really good. I dared him to eat the eyes but he couldn't do it (can't blame him, it looked fishy ). And as a grand finale we went for the tiramisu. This was the only dish that I didn't enjoy the presentation, but don't let that fool you. This has probably been one of the best tiramisu I've ever tried (chefs kiss). Oh how can I forget the cocktails we ordered. I had the Fleur de Lis and it was refreshing and bold. He had the Fumo Rosso, a mezcal based smoky deliciousness. This place has made it to my list of favorite places to visit and recommend!

Pros: Nice, enticing Italian-inspired menu. Décor is sleek and inviting. Service was fine, efficient. Cons: We ordered the 1/2 roasted chicken and the spring risotto. The chicken was dry and the green sauce was sour/tangy. Tasted like it had too much vinegar in it. The risotto was pricey for being a vegetarian dish with not much in it. Also, it was relatively bland -- a little salt would have gone a long way. The focaccia bread with basil butter was good, as was the arancini appetizer. No complaints here. The wine menu for glasses could be more extensive. Overall: it was OK. I'm a foodie from LA and have traveled the world for food. This place didn't blow me away.

After discussion and debate over what to try while in town, we settled on Italian at Oro. Made a reservation for a relatively large party (8). We arrived and we're promptly seated. We started off with a bottle of wine, and were recommended one based on the profile I was looking for. It was called Nebbiolo, and it was exactly what we were looking for! I was feeling pasta that night, so I tried the Spaghetti Aglio e Olio and it hit the spot. Pasta was cooked perfectly, and it seemed like one of their lighter dishes. We also had the spaghetti and meatballs, among other things and we enjoyed all dishes. Would definitely recommend Oro, you'll probably want to make a reservation to ensure a spot.

We had a wonderful birthday dinner here. We would give it 5 starts, but the veal isn't a 5 star dish. The rest of the food was incredible. The service was great and Alexander was fantastic. Highlights were the focaccia, bison carpaccio, Spaghetti Aglio e Olio, and the Bolognese. The restaurant is adorable, loved the ambiance.

Amazing new Italian restaurant in town! We went for our anniversary dinner and are glad we did. The service was very good, there was a mistake with our order but it was rectified quickly and we only waited a few minutes for our entree to arrive. Food wise it's delicious. Some highlights were the bison carpaccio so thinly sliced and flavorful with everything else. There's a hint of spice with it that adds to its depth. I think my favorite dish of the night was definitely the pappardelle pasta with lamb ragu. It is AMAZING!! Enough said. The arancini were also some of the best I've ever had. Grilled broccolini was pretty good though it lacked a bit of salt and acid. I'd say if you're looking for a great Italian spot with a nice ambience this is it. Prices are a bit high but not like insane.

We had a lovely dinner at Oro celebrating a birthday. It is the new Italian restaurant that has opened in the space previously occupied by Springs Orleans downtown next to the Mining Exchange. The dining room is comfortable and aesthetic. We enjoyed all the food. Pictured- Linguine Tricolore, Spaghetti and Meatballs, Gigante Beans, Asparagus and Arugula, Housemade Gelato and Pizzelle, and Limoncellos. We also enjoyed the Burrata & Pueblo Peppers and Olives for an appetizer. A little pricey- as could be expected, but the meal, to include the service, delivers a dinner experience that compliments.

I had mentioned on our reservation we were celebrating a birthday, and I think every member of the front end wished me Happy Birthday at least once! Overall, service throughout was impeccable! I am a huge fan of Chicken Parm, and have struggled over the years to find a version that compares to my favorite Italian eatery in NYC...pounded super thin with crispy breading and nearly overflowing the plate. I have found a new favorite, and confess I couldn't finish it. My wife had the Chicken Valeria which also was outstanding. Entrees come with a side salad...House or Caesar for a small upcharge. Both fresh and plentiful. After the mains, we had no room for dessert..as usual, but we were surprised with a pistachio cannoli for the birthday boy and it was easily one of the best cannoli we have enjoyed...even across may travels to Italy and NY. Overall an awesome dining and birthday experience, and probably good it's not in my hometown in NC as I would likely get in trouble! Five plus stars!!

If you're sitting at the bar you can see the window where your food comes up -- our salad and fries both sat there about ten minutes before anyone brought them the ten feet over to us. Not a huge deal, but it's a little cruddy sitting there thinking "I'm pretty sure that's ours" and waiting. The ambiance is very dark, with a lot of stairs up and down -- you head into sort of a basement-type area. Everything I saw was clean and nice. It's a cool, funky spot to take a date or hit for happy hour, so the vibe and ambiance are definitely spot on for that. Signature cocktails -- all fine. Not the best thing ever, but solid. I'd have them again. Side salad -- good. The ranch is made in house and very flavorful, and the salad was actually loaded with veggies. French fries with garlic aioli -- a bit of a letdown. We didn't even finish them. They came out okay, just a little dry, and the aioli itself wasn't very good -- we didn't really like it. Pro tip: The entrées looked pricey, which is why we stuck to snacking at the bar -- and after the fries came out, we were fine calling it there and eating elsewhere. Overall, would recommend for happy hour, and would return.

What I did try was the stellina spritz flight. So that's what I'll be reviewing! For $10 during HH, you can try 3 of Stellina's spritzes. The classic aperol, blackberry ginger, and lemon lime. All of which were so delicious and well balanced. And for $10, this is a great deal! I believe $12 usually. Now I like a classic aperol (they just call it the Stellina) spritz, but it's fun to try some different flavors! The second best is lemon lime and I'd say my third choice is blackberry ginger.
