Come for the great food and drinks, stay for all the fun! We love to bring the kids; they have a blast playing Big Buck Hunter and Mariocart and the popcorn machine while the adults enjoy great beer, food and music especially on the weekends when they have live bands. Service is always willing to solve any problems that might arise and move the line at the bar swiftly. Outside, Cornhole and giant Jenga are a hit. In the fall, enjoy propane heater tables extending the outdoor nights!

Good food in cool spot. Fruitful sour was very good. Food took a bit to come out considering it wasn't very busy.

Good selection of beers leaning on the IPAs. Facility is large with good seating options inside and out. Opted for a bit of food. The fried cauliflower was one of the best I've had and their honey garlic habanero sauce was good for dipping (although I prefer hotter) and the smoked trout dip was delicious.

Great food, drinks, and service! Definitely recommend getting the poutine! Large serving to share and very good!

Orono Brewing understands people. Have little ones? No problem - there's a nested seating area overlooking the brewing with a tv displaying kid's movies and other fun distracting activities. Got teens? No problem - teens and adults alike will enjoy the ping pong tables and corn hole. Local college kids? A mere mile away from the UMaine campus, beer, food, games, and fun! The space is wide open with various seating options including long picnic tables, round tables upcycled from barrels, and seats around the food wood stove. Food and beer is ordered at the walk up bar. You'll receive a buzzer to collect your food at the pickup window when it's ready. It's clear that they care about the environment from the upcycled tables, to the alternative heating, and through the use of biodegradable materials instead of plastic. Let's talk food! We ordered quesadillas ($6), tater tots ($5) and the Curry Chicken Naan Sandwich with fries ($12). Everything exceeded our expectations. The quesadillas were small and packed a good flavor. It wasn't plain and not overly filled with unnecessary ingredients. The taters were cooked to perfection. The Curry Chicken sandwich was filled full of flavor and hard to put down despite getting full. The beer is what drew us in. We already enjoy various Orono beers and their tasting room doesn't disappoint with the number of beers on tap. I especially enjoy that they offer a variety of their own beers, their collaborations, and other local brews. We'll be back.

What a great vibe! Beer is so good and food was fabulous! Can't wait to visit in summer!

I've always been a big fan of OBC, and once again Abe and Heather Furth have struck food/drink/atmosphere gold with this new location. The beer was good, the food was delish (especially the tater tot poutine and the garlic/cheese dip), and the atmosphere was wicked cool. Recommendation: The fruitsecco and the cub street ipa Avoid: the Go Blue milkshake beer. Actually very sour. However it made for a nice photo

    Great food

Last minute decision and glad we came. Placed order at front , grabbed our drink order then waited at table. Once the beeper goes off that they gave you... you pick up your food. Great concept. Beer was great lots of options and great burgers and appetizers. Will be back

Amazing brewery with excellent food and awesome beer. The vibe is super chill, with graffiti art and neon colors sprawling, you get an 80s vibe with a new age twist. I was VERY happy with my fake n cheese, which is a tempeh twist on a steak and cheese. The fries were also delicious, fresh cut fries. I got a side of the horseradish aioli, which was a great decision for a fry dip. I had two sour beers and my wife had an IPA. All of the beers were flavorful and we even got some cans for take home. The outside area provided places to sit or play, with a basketball hoop and disc golf net there was plenty to keep the kids entertained. Inside they had foozball (sp?) and table tennis. The large tables and the variety of seating areas really makes Orono Brewing a class act. There is something for everyone on their wine/beer/cider list and their food menu holds it's own against any restaurant. I haven't perused much of Orono, but I'm not sure why you would go anywhere else? Highly recommend!

I used to eat here far too often when I was attending UMO. Governor's is a Maine staple going back decades. I'm in California now...but eating at the Governor's in Lewiston whenever I'm home reminds me of the good times at this Governor's in Old Town.

The theme is comfort foods, so it would be optimistic to count on chef quality cuisine. Still, the offering had a few disappointments. Mind you, the pot roast was excellent, tender and tasty, and the juice (au jus?) was much better for the mashed potatoes than the canned gravy they put next to the taters. The bbq pulled pork, the mac and cheese were fine, and I didn't risk trying the dumplings, chicken fingers, French fries or chicken pot pie. The desserts, of course were also okay. The chicken broccoli Alfredo and the pineapple rice chicken dish were also okay. No doubt I would have liked it much more if it came with a few of my own comfort food favorites, such as meatballs, kielbasa and peppers/onion, pasta dishes such as spaghetti, American chop suey or lasagna - well, I could go on. The key is to check on Facebook and see what they are cooking for the buffet before you make plans.
